I finally had a chance to dine here. (There has been long line up whenever I pass this place) We decided to try their Pork Knuckle rice box, which was priced at an incredibly affordable $9.99 + tax. They only accept debit or cash payments, so be prepared. Also, the restaurant has limited seating with only three tables available. However, don't let that discourage you because the food is absolutely worth it! The Pork Knuckle in the rice box was very satisfying. The meat was incredibly tender and juicy that comes with cabbage, marinated fried tofu and egg. The rice complemented the pork perfectly, and the portion size was generous. Although the limited seating may require some planning, it adds to the cozy and intimate atmosphere of the restaurant. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I saw someone shared this restaurant on social media and I had been craving for pork knuckle rice bowl eagerly. This restaurant didn't disappoint me at all! It was great! Better than I expected. The pork knuckle had the perfect softness and saltiness so it matched with rice excellently. When you're very hungry, a pork knuckle rice bowl is a comfort food. And it only costs $9.99! The pickled lo bok was also a surprise. Ok, The tastiness of pickle stuff depends on your background and culinary habits in your culture. However, I recommend you try this if you haven't tried similar dishes before. The crunchiness of the pickled lo bok was very impressive. About the atmosphere, the restaurant has a TikTok Chinese vibe . I know there are already numerous Chinese restaurants in Toronto but this one is extreme. I felt like I arrived in China the second when I entered this restaurant. The TikTok Chinese pop songs, the slogans with puns on the walls, the way they serve the food, etc. Whether you like China or not, the point is they have excellent food and I think it's worth coming and experiencing the different culture.

I've been strolling past this little shop in North York for a bit, always wondering why it was so bustling. Finally, I took the plunge, and wow, was it worth it! The deal here is a steal - just $9.99 for a meal that's so generously portioned, I could've easily stretched it into two servings. I tried this amazing dish with pork knuckle, cabbage, pickled greens, egg, and tofu, mostly covered in this rich, sweet braised soy flavor that was a party for my taste buds. The place is tiny, but it's got this warm, welcoming vibe, thanks to the super friendly and quick staff. Sometimes there's a bit of a communication issue because of limited English, but nothing that pointing or Google translate can't fix. And it's popular with very limited seating so expect a bit of a wait during dinner time. (I didn't get to see if there's more seating upstairs, but that might be an option.) I'm definitely heading back, probably for takeout again rather than dine-in. It's such a great find for anyone looking for a hearty, budget-friendly meal that doesn't skimp on taste.

I haven't had a great pork knuckle rice experience in the past but given the price ($9.99), I wanted to try out this new store. There was a line up, but the service was fast. I was pleasantly surprised by how much food they gave me for $9.99. and the pork skin was very tender and well marinated. And it didn't have any bones! The marinated tofu and egg were fine. Nothing special. The egg did taste a bit salty so it goes well with rice. I do like that it came with preserved vegetables and cooked cabbage to balance out the fatty pork. If I want something quick, cheap, and filling, I'll probably just come here again.

Usually, I am never a huge fan of pork knuckle but I saw it over social media, figure I will give it a try. There was a bit of a line up on the third day. The combo came with rice, tofu and half a marinated egg. In terms of the pork knuckle, you can ask for less skin. But I think I might try to ask for no skin next time. It was very soft and nicely marinated, not too salty. The sauce soaked through the rice. It was tasty. The tofu and the egg can use more marinating time. The pork knuckle itself and the rice with the sauce was my favourite. For $9.99 pretty good deal!

Came here to try the longjiang pork knuckle rice! We ordered this for takeout and it was a delicious dinner. The sauce was flavourful, which paired well with the rice and the pork knuckle was so tender. The dish came with tofu, pickled veggies and cabbage which made it into a more balanced meal. If you haven't had pork knuckle before, it kind of reminds me of braised beef brisket but more fatty with the skin. A great comfort food when it's cold out. I highly recommend trying this dish!

This is a must try if you are in the area. The food is tasty and it's an amazing deal. I shared this with my wife because she wanted to have the pork knuckle. Pork was flavourful and just the right consistency. Only minor gripe was egg was a tad dry. It was enough even for two adults. Staff was polite and they take cash or debit. I was only there was takeout in the lower level. You can be in and out in 1 min. They face Yonge just south of Northtown. So you can park on Yonge or inside the area with all the other stores by the condo. The upstairs should have a few tables but I never went up. Keep in mind in another poster they are not offering deals but for the 4 tables it's self serve so won't ask for tips either. GO NOW!!!

The posters outside caught my eye, and I decided to come back with a group of three friends to try it out. We came a bit late around 8 PM, and most of the fish were already sold out except the original. We ended up ordering the Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($40), a whole fish served bubbling hot with three toppings (potatoes, spam, and lotus root). You can choose between catfish and turbot, we chose the turbot fish. It looked extremely spicy, but the spice level was actually perfect. It was a bit on the oily side, but pairing it with rice balanced it out nicely. The fish was very tender and buttery, everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the Stir-Fried Egg with Tomato. The eggs were soft, the tomato sauce was rich. Not to mention the portion size was huge, we even had leftovers after eating until we were full. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had plenty of seating. I think they were doing some sort of promotion so they gave us a $25 off coupon, though it expired pretty quickly so we didn't get to use it. I'd definitely come back for that grilled fish.

This is a new Chinese restaurant featuring Hunan and Szechuan cuisine. The spicy dishes emphasize…read morespiciness, not numbness. A few of their dishes come out on a sizzling plate with flames underneath. They are still in soft-opening mode with several specials. You can see the menus via a QR code. The Hunan cuisine is listed as "Hunan Noodles" and the Szechuan cuisine is listed as "Chopfire Menu". The Szechuan dishes are listed with 1 to 3 chilies representing the spiciness. If you can't handle spicy, then avoid eating the chili pieces and you might "survive". The restaurant decided to minimize their food offerings so that they can focus on refining their dishes in terms of quality and taste, including from customer feedback. We ordered the following: 1. Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($39.95). 2. Home Stir Fried Beef ($21.95). 3. Bullfrog with Baby Ginger ($19.95). 4. Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork ($15.95). 5. Drunk Oolong (charcoal roasted oolong tea base) x 2 ($5.95 x 2). 6. Lemon Taro Balls ($7.95). We also saw the following: 7. Stir-Fried Sliced Pork with Green Pepper Noodle Soup ($9.99). First 10 customers each day, only pays $1.00. 8. Ink Painting Cocktail ($5.95). The Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish came out on a huge sizzling platter. The BBQ Fish, a Turbot Fish, was very fresh and flaky, easily coming off the bone. There is no head attached like at typical Chinese restaurants but it would not have fit in the platter. The platter had a delicious sauce (soupy consistency and not sweet), luncheon meat slices, lotus root slices, and two other vegetables, along with chili pieces. The entire dish tasted great together with the various flavours. The menu listed it as 2-chili spicy but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Home Stir Fried Beef is tender. It is listed as 3-chili but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Bullfrog with Baby Ginger has the bullfrog cut up in little pieces; no you don't see a whole frog! The meat was actually good but most pieces have bones in it, so it takes time to eat it carefully. There was ginger slices in it but it, but we thought the slices were quite large! The Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork was very delicious! It came in a sizzling plate. The Cauliflower was flavourful and was not crunchy and not too soft. I've never had preserved pork slices before; it was quite good, not as salty as Chinese preserved vegetables. The Drunk Oolong has comes in a small bowl a with gin and ice. On the side, they include pieces of the charcoal roasted oolong tea leaves so you can smell it; quite a good smell indeed. You can also order it without the gin, which is what I ordered for mine (since I don't drink alcohol). It was such a nice drink! The Lemon Taro Balls dessert was pretty. In the centre was a slice of lemon. The customer service was good. There is plenty of indoor table and counter seating, including a small private room at the back. There is also an outdoor patio during warmer weather. There is pop music playing in the background. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are two gender-neutral washrooms downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-026

From the moment we walked in, the space already set the tone.. dark, dramatic, elegant, and beautifully designed without feeling overly stiff. It has that upscale energy that makes dinner feel like an occasion before you've even ordered anything. Food-wise, there was a lot to love. The signature apple wood roasted Peking duck was definitely a highlight, especially with the tableside carving, which made the whole experience feel even more polished and memorable. The skin had that beautiful lacquered finish, and the duck was rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. We also ordered a few larger dishes for the table, and I really appreciated how everything still felt refined without losing that comforting, indulgent side of Chinese dining. Some dishes leaned rich and luxurious, others were lighter and more aromatic, so the meal never felt repetitive. Service was another standout. Attentive without hovering, smooth without being too formal.. exactly the kind of service you hope for in a restaurant like this.
