Great place for affordable comfort Chinese food! Might get a bit packed though. We've ordered green beans, noodles, and a bunch of stuff (I don't remember quite frankly) but the food was quick, fresh, and hot! Will definitely come back :)

As a Taiwanese person, I have to say, this place is by no means authentic. However, there's nothing wrong with that. I ordered the Taiwanese beef noodles. The soup base and the noodles were a lot lighter than the traditional Taiwanese noodles. I was unsure how to feel about that at first, but I realize that this could be an introduction to Taiwanese food for people who aren't use to the strong flavors that Asian foods sometimes have. This, in combination with the decor and presentation of the place, is a good way of promoting Taiwanese dishes and introduce non-Taiwanese people to Taiwanese dishes. Despite it not being so authentic.

Best Shanghainese food I've had in ages! So tasty that we couldn't for take a proper pic before digging in! Onion pancake and potstickers (pork/veg) are amazing! Nom mom nom!

fried rice: it was really good and not too oily. It doesn't make you feel heavy at all. Not too salty and not too oily so you can keep eating without getting sick and tired of it. Sweet and sour soup: the soup was good, since we ordered the noodle and rice, it was a good portion for the two of us noodles: I don't quite remember how the noodles tasted sorry haha but I just remember everything being really good servers are really nice :)

There is a menu available online and a special menu available in store, which I suppose must change from time to time! The additional menu in store offered vegetarian pan fried dumplings on the day that we dropped by, and it was absolutely delicious! The decor is very nice because it's glass all over! We sat right beside where the heater is, so it worked out in the super cold freezing rain day. Our waiter said food is made from scratch so it's possible for my vegetarian friend to ask for dishes that is suppose to contain meat to be cooked without meat!

A surprisingly Taiwanese restaurant located at an unexpected location. The name I love and use; the food is a different thing. Hardly any decor and basically you eat and run. Not a place to hang out. The small open kitchen can be seen and it reminds you of your parents' kitchen. Some seats can be uncomfortable. The washroom is small too. Food: the beef noodle soup was hot in temperature and in spice which I love. The beef looked more like pork to me. They didn't have the sour pickled veggies that go with it. The noodle wasn't chewy enough. Good thing it was a good portion. The "ma pao tofu" was alright. Nothing special about it. We did ask to delete some spice to it. The sad part is that the steam rice came like 2 minutes later and it was an additional cost. The pan fried green onion pancake wasn't what I expected. It was hard instead of chewy. Dry too!! It's not the best Taiwanese restaurant, but I'm glad that they are trying and giving that community a little taste of Taiwan. Verdict: I would go back to try their other dish. Not a lot on the menu which then they can focus more on their specialities. Perhaps only if I'm in that area again. Improvement - perhaps play Taiwanese music instead of loud English songs. For a small place, the music was quite loud for lunch time.

Family owned restaurant. The outside wall paint of "chop chop" stands out from afar and reminded me that blogto did a review of the store awhile back! Very friendly and kind staff! Love how there's patio and inside option depending on weather. Must gets : friend onion pancake, their dumplings. I would also probably recommend getting a plate of greens as a lot of their items are fried. Super cool chill place w/ pretty authentic Asian food!

Summary: clean, classy, classic vibe restaurant serves tasty Chinese food! It was pretty quiet on a Thursday at 12:30 pm. I was content seeing the minimalist look and classic blue white dishware - it honestly reminded me of my childhood. The lady at the counter recommended the General Tao chicken but I was on a budget and the chicken didn't come with rice (rice is $2 a bowl)... Plus I had my heart set on getting the green onion pancake as an appetizer, so I went with that plus the braised beef noodles. The green onion pancakes came first and were quite good. They split into an outer and inner rim. The outer rim has plentiful green onions... Tasty! The braised beef noodles came after - medium mild width was perfect for me (I'm very particular about the size of my noodles), there was a solid amount of meat and it was mostly tender, and the noodles were perfectly al dente! In addition to chunks of meat there is also a bit of shredded pieces of the beef as you dive into the meal... Delicious! The meal comes with a white rabbit candy after. Solid experience!

Chop chop chop chop! My friends and I arrived here around ~12:30 and were seated right away, with the choice of the patio or inside. We chose the latter under the shade of an umbrella. We ordered the fried vermicelli, deep fried tofu (which came with a chili sauce), sweet and sour pork, pork and chive dumplings, and green onion pancake. The dumplings were super crispy on the outside and just perfect inside, super flavourful and was even more delicious with soy sauce! The fried vermicelli EXCEEDED my expectations as I thought it was going to be the typical bland noodles but wow I really enjoyed it. The deep fried tofu smelled a little funny but we realized it was the garbage truck beside us - THEY DON'T SERVE STINKY TOFU AS MUCH AS I'D LIKE TO TRY IT! Everything was all in all delicious and I would totally return to try their other types of dumplings. I highly recommend that if you come with a group of friends, you order many dishes so everyone can have a little bit of everything. The drink menu is pretty sweet too, I got soy milk which I rarely get the opportunity to have in other restaurants. Service was excellent as well with a super attentive server. I would recommend Chop Chop for quality Taiwanese food!

We ordered through Uber eats. The driver was quick and really friendly. The food was hot and not too expensive. Otherwise the food was not our favorite. Out of everything we enjoyed the spring rolls the best. The rest of the food was pretty bland and not a lot of flavor. It was fulfilling and we were hungry so it wasn't the worst thing.

Update: I came back to try the General Tsao chicken and the vermicelli noodles as promised. The chicken was AMAZING - it was crispy but not over fried, and there was just the right amount of sauce. I would definitely reorder this! The vermicelli portion size was huge, we ended up taking most of it home. It was also pretty good! The shrimp wontons were crispy and great as well. I love the atmosphere of this place, the high ceilings and ceiling windows make this place look bright and modern. They also have a patio! I will keep coming back here for sure.

Friendly service, delicious food and cute atmosphere. My friend got the general tao chicken and she said it was very good. I got the beef noodle soup and the dish included thick noodles with rich braised beef pieces and sliced bok choi in a spicy broth. Both portion sizes were pretty generous (especially the noodle soup). We also split a large creme brûlée, which was delicious as well.

SERVICE: Service was fine, the server made a few suggestions and was friendly. Went on a Sunday evening and was seated within 20 minutes for a group of 4. FOOD: The food was OK, the portions were a generous amount but I felt some dishes lacked flavour. The Hot and Sour soup had no taste, neither hot or sour. The dumplings were good and the spring rolls were crunchy. The beef noodle soup was good. The crispy chicken was slightly too salty. AMBIENCE: Chop chop has a very clean and modern looking space.

The posters outside caught my eye, and I decided to come back with a group of three friends to try it out. We came a bit late around 8 PM, and most of the fish were already sold out except the original. We ended up ordering the Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($40), a whole fish served bubbling hot with three toppings (potatoes, spam, and lotus root). You can choose between catfish and turbot, we chose the turbot fish. It looked extremely spicy, but the spice level was actually perfect. It was a bit on the oily side, but pairing it with rice balanced it out nicely. The fish was very tender and buttery, everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the Stir-Fried Egg with Tomato. The eggs were soft, the tomato sauce was rich. Not to mention the portion size was huge, we even had leftovers after eating until we were full. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had plenty of seating. I think they were doing some sort of promotion so they gave us a $25 off coupon, though it expired pretty quickly so we didn't get to use it. I'd definitely come back for that grilled fish.

The waitress was straightforward, and the tea is not an extra charge. Just be careful as the tea is super, super hot. The noodle shop is my cup of tea as I'm familiar with places like this. From the moment we walked in, the space already set the tone.. dark, dramatic, elegant, and beautifully designed without feeling overly stiff. It has that upscale energy that makes dinner feel like an occasion before you've even ordered anything. Food-wise, there was a lot to love. The signature apple wood roasted Peking duck was definitely a highlight, especially with the tableside carving, which made the whole experience feel even more polished and memorable. The skin had that beautiful lacquered finish, and the duck was rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. We also ordered a few larger dishes for the table, and I really appreciated how everything still felt refined without losing that comforting, indulgent side of Chinese dining. Some dishes leaned rich and luxurious, others were lighter and more aromatic, so the meal never felt repetitive. Service was another standout. Attentive without hovering, smooth without being too formal.. exactly the kind of service you hope for in a restaurant like this.
