Come here for the freshly made dumplings and comfort food - Chinese pancakes are good. Other dishes do not stand out. Food 5/5 for dumplings, 3/5 for other dishes Ambiance 1/5 - dated Service 2/5 - of the many times I have been here, there's not much service. I witnessed a bad argument between staff before. The tea is not good.

This is our go-to place on weekend for its food with reasonable price, highly recommended. There was renovation last year, the interior looks fresh and stylish, but they didn't increase the price much. The food is very solid whatever we order and service is good too. We love the steamed pork bun and dumplings. Fried pan dumpling is so juicy and yummy too. All the dishes come with big volume and full of flavours. Give it a try and it will not disappoint you.

Their dumplings are excellent! We ordered: # Pan Fried Cabbage & Pork Dumplings # Boiled Leek&Pork Dumplings # Braised Beef Noodle Soup # Shrimp With Egg Fried Rice I recently realized that there are not many places that serve "boiled" homemade dumplings (not frozen). This place serves quality, fresh boiled dumplings - precious! and tasted soooo good and juicy. Pan fried dumplings are so juicy and tender inside, crispy on the bottom, with chewy & soft yet strong and flavorful wrappers. Perfectly done! XLB? Great as always. Beautifully hand pleated, good soup amount and flavorful meat. I liked Braised beef noodle soup but my partner said he felt that Chinese dry aromatics were a bit too intense in the soup. I disagreed :p It was good to me. The meat was super tender, but I felt it had too much fat. But my partner thought it was perfect. We disagreed :p But we agreed that they are good nonetheless. Haha. Fried rice was OK. Not as crispy as I wished. We will definitely come back again for their dumplings!!!!

Came here to enjoy some soup dumplings and try other things. The beans and braised beef noodle soup came out first and were both spicy (for me) but delicious! We ordered a bunch of soup dumplings, steamed dumplings and pan fried ones and all of them were really good. We also got a green onion pancake, which is by far my favorite one! The service was nice and quick. It wasn't too loud in there, just enough to be able to hear each other. It was super cozy.

This is a very no-frills restaurant with many small eats and comfort foods! We ordered the drunken chicken, fried pancake and smoked pork, steamed pickled cabbage dumplings, and steamed leek and pork dumplings. The drunken chicken was tasty and the chicken was still tender. This is a cold dish, in case you are unaware! I would caution against letting the chicken soak in the drunken broth for too long--it gets a bit too strong haha The dumplings are a pretty good price for restaurant dumplings! The leek and pork is a reliable classic, while the pickled cabbage one is not the best. I would pass on this location's pickled cabbage (they're awesome when you can find good ones). The fried pancake and smoked pork were flavourful and a great sharable! Overall, a great place to order a bunch of your fav (northern) Chinese comfort foods for a very reasonable price!

I normally give mediocre food the benefit of a doubt but I was a little disappointed with the quality of the food received. Staff were pleasant and efficient, maybe mediocre food affected by supply/food turnover issues caused by Covid restrictions, I do hope they get their act together soon now that restrictions have been lifted. Salty tofu soup bland and flavorless, no crunch to the very minimal pickled vegetables. maybe sitting in soup/kitchen for days. Same with the fried dough rice roll, pickled vegetables were hardly present, mushy and flavorless. Jellyfish dish was not bad, plentiful and crunchy although needed to add more vinegar to increase the flavor (maybe my own personal preference) Celery dumplings were ok, skin thin but dry, sitting around too long in the kitchen again maybe? Hit or miss, I hope they get their act together as way too many Chinese restaurants in Thornhill for customers to select from

it's a good little mom and pop shop serving asian comfort food. we stopped in for dinner craving some veggies. we ordered a tofu and vegetable dish. we also ordered soup dumplings, pork belly, and scallion pancake. everything came out super fast and fresh.

I've only been going here regularly about at least once a month for as long as I can remember, and have gone more frequently very often. Please don't share the fact that their dumplings are by far the best in the GTA; otherwise, I will have to line up (and I hate to wait). And from what I can taste and see, they don't cut corners with their ingredients.

What can I say... the food is pretty good! The prices are pretty fair... not expensive and not super cheap! The service on the other hand... a bit slow and have seen some rudeness to other customers. If you are looking for a spot that has yummy northern cuisine, then yes... I would recommend coming here. Be prepared to grab your own napkins and utensils, cause this place is super busy with only 1-2 servers.

This is truly a neighbourhood gem!! The parking lot at Times Square is insane but with some luck we got in and got out in no time. We actually came the first time trying to lunch set (protein + rice + soup or soy milk for $7.99!!) and xiao long bao (dumplings with soup inside - $6.50 for 6) and a steamed chives/pork dumpling ($5.50 for 10). Surprisingly I fell in love with the cheapest item. The dumpling "shell" was super chewy and there was a bit of soup in each one! The second time we ended up with two orders of the steamed dumplings (chive still the best compared to mushroom) and an order of the green onion pancake with pork. Super good. The only reason for the 4 Star is the lunch is good value but so so quality (like fast Chinese food) and it's cash oni

I came here on a Saturday night and was seated pretty quickly. Service is mediocre but expected from a chinese restaurant like this. I absolutely loved their soup dumplings and noodles. Although its not the best I have ever had, It was decent and the prices are quite reasonable as well. For that reason, I will probably be back here.

Decided to come back here cause of my recent yelp review of the day. I was so excited to come back for some soup dumplings. Sadly this visit was not even half as good as I remembered it to be! As you can see I've only given it a 2 star vs 4 stars before. When we got here today, it was busy. All the tables were full and luckily we didn't wait long. Before we got seated at our table, the woman who seemed to be the owner, was wiping the floor and laying newspaper on the floor. Odd. And told us to sit there with the wet floor where she had the newspaper. Gross. But whatever just newspaper. Luckily I wasn't wearing any expensive shoes I guess. Moving on, the food was nothing like how I remembered it to be. The pork filled soup dumplings XLB was salty. Don't even get me started on the shanghai fried rice cakes. When we got the plate .. there were barely any food on there. The portion was VERY small. And taste wise it was super bland. Also doesn't Shanghai style have minced pork? Well they were no where to be found and I didn't have to look too hard considering the amount of food there was. The steamed leek and pork dumplings were okay, again tasted salty. Fried onion cake was fine. Overall the food was bad, and I am sad considering the high rating I gave last time. The service and food was definitely not the same. I won't be returning and will no longer recommend this place.

But despite of all those disadvantages, I still give it 5 stars because it has the PERFECT food! I think what it does best is that it adapt its dishes to use the local produce and meat, and still keep the legit HongKong food flavors. The menu here is reasonably priced for the HK cafe food that's available till 5pm. We were impressed by the huge portions & surprisingly good flavours. Curry Beef Brisket Rice was stewed well to achieve really tender tendons. These are still two of our go-to dishes here. For a decent dinner table like that, it's not cheap but okay . Each dish was cooked very well. Delicious and had wok hai. There will be a dessert after the meal, a bowl of tofu flower for each person. That dessert is a true hidden gem. Silky smooth and moderate sweetness and perfect warmth. I wonder why no one mentioning it before, it is very good. We can come back to this restaurant just for the dessert.
