Finally got to try this little hole in the wall eatery! Came here for lunch! Service was quick, the staff there seem to know all the regular and greet them by name! We got the lunch specials what came with soup and drink! We got a fried noodle and sweet and sour pork! Look forward to coming back!

This is a small HK style cafe offering variety of dishes. We came in Wednesday night around 7:30, it was still busy and almost full. The staff was very friendly and managed seated us immediately. We ordered a combo A for two, $31.99, including two main dishes, slice fish with vegetables, and sliced beef with mushrooms &green onion. Soup comes with the combo for free, and free dessert red bean soup after the meal . All dishes are at very high quality with good portion. This little kitchen is so clean and homey, with tasty food at reasonable price, will definitely come back!

We were pleased to find that since we'd last been there, the restaurant had been updated. Sitting by the door was a bit chilly, with customers constantly coming and going for takeout orders as well as dining in. Reservations may be necessary, as this is a small restaurant that filled up quite quickly when we were there. We ordered a combo for two. This included soup, half a crispy chicken, sliced fish with vegetables, rice, and dessert for $32. This was too much food for us, and we ended up taking some of it home. We also ordered takeout recently. Everything was packed really well; there was no spillage when we got home, and, again, we had lots of leftovers. Their portions are very decent.

Sunday brunch! Cute little space on old Markham road. Really enjoyed it, the servers were lovely. Space is small but it's expected. Didn't wait long for a table. Definitely will go back. Love the HK cafe houses. Too bad we don't have one in downtown Toronto

Bayview kitchen is a small, but popular restaurant located by Bayview and Major Mackenzie. We came on Sunday around 2pm, and was surprised to see how full the restaurant was. Luckily for us, there was an open spot when we arrived, but it was a little chilly as we had to sit right by the entrance. During our dine in experience, there were many customers coming in to order take out - which means this spot is pretty popular! They have a breakfast, and lunch special which was pretty reasonable with the amount of items included, plus portion of the dishes. We opted for their lunch special which included a drink such as HK Milk Tea, and soup (only available till 2:30pm). I got the satay beef with vermicelli, and overall it was pretty tasty - there was a good amount of satay sauce included which gave it a lot of flavour. The milk tea was also surprisingly pretty good in comparison to many HK cafes I've visited. If you'd like to add sugar to it, there are packets on the side by your table. As I'm moving around the area soon, it's pleasant to know that there's a pretty good HK cafe in the area. I would definitely recommend you to come check this spot out if you haven't :) IG: Ayeween

A neighbourhood secret among Chinese diners. Consistently good Cantonese stir fry, fair prices and friendly service have kept our family coming back here for years. Beef and Vegetable Fried Rice Noodle, Curry Beef Brisket and Fish with Corn Sauce are excellent. Strictly cash only.

This cash-only place has Hong Kong themed breakfast/lunch/afternoon tea sets and a Cantonese themed a la carte menu that's more adventurous than usual. In 2019, I had fried rice noodles with pork & XO sauce which were pretty tasty, with a good wok flavour. Though it was a bit light on pork slices. More recently, I got the Malaysian Fried Noodles. They were not Malaysian Fried Noodles (Char Kway Teow, as per the Chinese characters). They had bean sprouts, BBQ Pork, green onion, shrimp, egg & onion. There was no smoky wok flavour & while there was a slight curry smell & it was slightly spicy there was no taste of curry. In fact, it was bland. On the up side, with the Malaysian Fried Noodles I got not one but two free soups. One was a pork with carrot soup, with a decent taste of boiled goodness. The other was actually a dessert: red bean soup with sago. Both were good. During covid they're particularly paranoid - you get your change yourself and they handle your money with tongs (and presumably sterilise it after you hand it over)

Some people speak mountains about Bayview Kitchen - I've been a few times and just ordered the milk tea which is sweet and refreshing on a hot summer's day. I've only tried the food once and ordered a fish plate - white fish and steamed vegetables and rice - and I believe the corn soup it came with was complimentary. The meals are prepared very fast, and the taste is alright - there's not many vegetarian or pescatarian options here for me so I don't go very often. The appearance inside is small and quite cramped, you likely will have to share a table with others. My friends say this place is very traditional, but I cannot try the traditional dishes so I can't comment on that. Service is prompt and friendly. Prices are relatively inexpensive. I believe they are cash only though.

Stumbled upon this place by accident. Cozy little HK syle cafe. Saw they had oxtail on the menu so I couldn't say no to that. Portion was good and the meat was pretty soft. The sauce was like a tomato flavour mixed with mushrooms. Overall a decent oxtail dish. Also tried a fried noodle. Was a bit on the salty side but other than that it was good. Milk tea was a bit watered down.

This is the best local Cantonese place, hands down. The owners and staff are so incredibly friendly and nice, and the food is outstanding. I come back home to visit my sister a few times a year, and always hit this place up. I'm from Hong Kong and know good Cantonese food--and this is it. When I leave I crave it. Their black bean chicken is amazing, as are any of their crispy fried egg noodle dishes. The ma po tofu is so good, it leaves my lips buzzing with the mala pepper. If you're looking for a good food, come here. It's ten times better than any Chinese restaurant in the Hill.

But despite of all those disadvantages, I still give it 5 stars because it has the PERFECT food! I almost dropped some tears when I tasted my first bite of the dish I ordered, stored fried beef with tomatoes and eggs. I think what it does best is that it adapt its dishes to use the local produce and meat, and still keep the legit HongKong food flavors. The menu here is reasonably priced for the HK cafe food that's available till 5pm. We were impressed by the huge portions & surprisingly good flavours. Curry Beef Brisket Rice was stewed well to achieve really tender tendons. These are still two of our go-to dishes here. We did notice the environment gets loud from time-to-time, when it's fairly packed with patrons but some have split to the new rice roll spot nearby. Skip it or hit it? For a decent dinner table like that, it's not cheap but okay . Each dish was cooked very well. Delicious and had wok hai. There will be a dessert after the meal, a bowl of tofu flower for each person. That dessert is a true hidden gem. Silky smooth and moderate sweetness and perfect warmth. I wonder why no one mentioning it before, it is very good. We can come back to this restaurant just for the dessert.
