Overall, I had a nice experience here at the Big Casserole. Service was fast and efficient. Food was top notch. I ordered the clay pot with chicken and preserved meats. It was exquisitely done. Though I wish there was more of the burned crispy rice stuck to the bottom. Not to say the dish was bad. It was actually amazing. Good enough to order again and again. Maybe try a different flavour next time. Also for next time, I noticed other tables had a hot pot. Definitely worth a try as well as some dumplings I observed. This place rocks. I will definitely be back And recommend any and all Yelpers to visit. Oh And on a nice side note. The tea was nice and hot and I noticed a tea bag in the pitcher which was a nice touch and a first for any restaurant for me :)

Great Cantonese food after mahjong night, but be ready to wait (especially on weekends) Six of us booked a table here for dinner after a short mahjong session at a friend's house. This was my first time dining in, though a few of our group had been here before and they recommended it - and now I see why. The food is really good: tasty, authentic Cantonese / Hong Kong-style dishes that feel like proper comfort food, especially if you're used to that local HK taste. This place is famous for its hot pot and clay pot rice, and we went all in with two "two flavours of your choice" hot pots: 1. Hong Kong style satay premium beef slices hot pot 2. House special white pepper chicken and pork stomach hot pot Both were excellent. I was especially impressed by the satay soup base - I've made my own satay broth at home before, but I actually love their version too. It's rich, fragrant, and has a few layers of flavour that work perfectly with instant noodles or rice. The white pepper hot pot was also good, though I've had similar versions elsewhere, so it didn't surprise me as much. We also ordered: - Classic Sausage and Dried Pork Rice - Dried Mushroom with Chicken Rice - Sizzling Casserole Sauced Chicken with Rice Roll - Fried dumplings Everything tasted good - well‑seasoned, good portions, and very satisfying during a weekend night. The space itself is nice and practical, not the fancy type: the interior design is clean and modern, lighting is bright (just right for a dinner out), and seating is quite comfortable. We had a round table, which was perfect for sharing all the dishes family‑style, the way we usually eat. The one big downside - and it's a real one - is the wait time. Even though we booked a table in advance, we still had to wait about 45 minutes for our seats. For many people, that's quite unacceptable, especially on a weekend evening when you're already hungry and just want to eat, chat, and relax. It felt like we were wasting time waiting instead of enjoying the evening at our friend's house, and some of us were pretty upset. It's clear the place is very popular, but the situation or the management side seems a bit off that night. If you go, I'd strongly suggest trying off‑peak hours (maybe a weekday or earlier in the evening) to avoid this frustration. I am sure there will be some improvement. Overall, the food is definitely worth it - authentic, tasty, and great for a group who likes to share. Just go in with the tip above, and I hope you don't run into the same long wait. Let me know if you try it - I'd love to hear what you ordered and what you thought!

We waited about half an hour but it was well worth it! I can see why this place is pretty popular and I like how efficient the wait staff were. While we we next in line for a table they gave us a menu and we quickly ordered off before seating. It helped when we knew what we wanted upon looking at the menu online prior to selecting our meals. They have hot pot and it looked super exciting to try the next time we are here. Because we were two people, we opt to just get a clay pot rice with beef, the pickled pork stomach soup with instant noodles, pan fried dumplings and sweet glutinous rice balls with peanuts and black sesame. Everything came out promptly, smelled and looked pretty delicious. The clay pot rice still sizzling however I felt like the flavors were underwhelming and I was hoping it would come with some sweet soya sauce to drizzle on top of it. The pickled pork stomach noodle soup was so hearty and flavorful, I do recommend it as it's perfect for the colder weather. The pan fried dumplings were pretty good, a bit pricey but willing to try again and the glutinous balls were a classic, definitely a great way to end the night!

Their casserole rices are very tasty. I think it can be one of the most delicious casserole rices I have ever had! I don't know if they are "authentic" enough because I'm not from HongKong. However, the tender and juicy of the topping on the rice and the crispy of the rice attached to the claypot bring a high level of satisfaction. Unfortunately, just as their name, only their casserole rices are good..other dishes are really so so. We ordered rice noodle, but I felt the flavour was pretty plain. Neverthelss, the services were good and the restaurant was spacious. It is a good place for family or friends

A busy joint! My friend suggested this place for hot pot and we met up for dinner one night on my recent trip to Toronto. I am so glad we tried this joint. We ordered the Fried Tofu Skin With Fish Paste along with the House Special White Pepper Chicken and Pork Stomach Hotpot. Very tasty soup base indeed. We also got the Salted Fish With Minced Pork Clay Pot Rice. Delicious meal and it was a lot of food for us but we really enjoyed it.

This place is packed with savory goodness. Known for their casserole dishes, you'll get a generous amount of food that actually two people can share, ( well that's based on how much I usually eat ). Our group tried those claypot rice dishes everyone loved it, one of their soup (with chicken and intestine ) I tried it, its not for me its just ok not a big fan of it, the salted fish and chicken casserole style dish is just alright, a little salty and oily on the side but flavourful perfect to pair it with rice. Also we had their pan fried pork and chive dumpling which I love but forgot to take pic of it. Everything taste good. Friendly and efficient service, with staff eager to share recommendations what's good to get if you're undecided. Cozy interior. The washrooms offers clean and pleasant experience. Great for families and group for meal. Free parking onsite.

This was my first time trying this spot. We came around 6:45 pm on a Wednesday night and this spot was quite busy, about 90% capacity filled. Mind you, it was Lunar New Year but wow! We were greeted and seated right away, at a table close to the prep counter which was a good spot away from the cold breeze of the entrance. They offer you a physical menu but ordering is via a QR code on the table. At first glance, the place is really nicely decorated. The place looks clean and is well lit. House Chicken With Pork Stomach (under Meal for One) for $16.99. We opted for this dish since it's one of their signatures. The broth is nice and clear, and VERY peppery, but not unbearably so. I could drink it all without coughing my lungs out. There was a good ratio of noodles to vegetables and meat. The chicken was tender, so was the pork stomach, without any pungent smell or taste. Dried Mushroom With Chicken Rice for $17.99. The ratio of meat to rice was also good. The chicken was very smooth and tender. This is a true clay pot rice, with that crispy rice! This makes the dish very fragrant and flavorful. Sesame Peanut Fresh House Made Mochi for $8.99. I was so excited for this one. It comes with 8 pieces, decently sized and very well coated in the black sesame and peanut topping. This was such a good way to end the meal with a nicely chewy treat. Service is minimal but overall, friendly and efficient.

We checked out this spot earlier and tried their House Special White Pepper Chicken and Pork Stomach Hotpot. The soup was packed with pork stomach and came with half a chicken on the side! Tips: Taste the soup first before adding the chicken, and cook the chicken in batches to keep it fresh! They also serve an satay hotpot with 2 portions of beef slices and beef balls, plus instant noodles. The soup also includes mushrooms and tofu puffs Tip: Remove the lid and simmer the soup a bit longer for extra flavor! You can customize your meal with add-on ingredients, we recommend the yummy shrimp paste! They also offer clay pot rice, which keeps the heat in this cold season. Just wish they had crispy rice at the bottom - my favorite part! This place is perfect for gatherings and getting that authentic Hong Kong hotpot vibe. Just a heads up: weekends can get pretty busy, so plan ahead and be prepared to wait. You can always explore the supermarket next door while you wait!

Chinese sausage & dried pork clay pot rice

You know a restaurant is going to be good when it's busy on a weekday night! Be sure to make reservations ahead of time :) Came here with a larger group for the hot pot experience and clay pot rice. We got the satay beef and the white pepper chicken & pork stomach for hot pot, which was a hit for the entire group! For fish/chicken, go for the white pepper soup. For beef/lamb, the satay soup is where it's at. The soups were so flavourful that a dipping sauce wasn't necessary. Honestly, I would even recommend taking the soup home to make congee or use it as a base for your next soup noodle bowl. It's THAT good. The clay pot rice was also delicious. The smell of the Chinese sausage and its oils seeped into the rice brought a sense of nostalgia from my childhood. It may look like a simple, non-fussy dish, but it's packed with flavour. We were so hungry that we couldn't wait for the rice at the bottom of the pot to crisp up - oops! That's really the best part of clay pot rice in my opinion.

Newish Hong Kong casserole/hotpot restaurant in Richmond Hill. We got two individual hotpot dishes: the house chicken with pork stomach and the Hong Kong satay beef. The broth for the house chicken with pork stomach is so good and has so much flavor, and there's a nice kick with the white pepper. The Hong Kong satay beef is also good, but I added some soy sauce because it was missing a bit of that flavor. I'd revisit and try their clay pot dishes next time!

Long wait times but the food makes up for that. One of the best casseroles I've ever had. We ordered the chef special rib casserole with Chinese sausage add on, veggies, dumplings and mochi dessert. The casserole was really tasty and meat portions were plentiful. I really enjoyed the dumplings, they were really tasty. Veggies were good too and the mochi dessert was delicious. I will definitely be back!

Came in with friends during lunchtime and got seated immediately. staff is friendly and service is fast。 This is a Cantonese style restaurant, interior decoration is quite cozy. Ordered: 1. Classic sausage and dried pork rice 4/5 2. Casserole sauce chicken onion 4/5 3. Pepper chicken and pork stomach soup with rice 5/5 Next time will come back for 猪肚鸡hot pot.

Got here to try hearing the reviews. Was a bit busy on a Friday night. Had to wait about 20-25 mins. We ordered all the main casseroles and food came out fairly fast. They were all very good, not overly salty and was pretty perfect. They also wasn't burnt and just a good crisp side wall of rice. The place was decent size but was quite packed and busy. They also offer hotpot which we didn't try. This would be something to give it a go on our next visit. Overall I would say the place was good and for sure one of the better.

Normally you would except a small soup bowl with a sandwich however this soup was in a HUGE (to me anyways lol) bowl with a full sized sandwich. My soup of choice was the chicken noodle with a ham & cheese croissant. I feel like chicken noodle is always a good staple to determine if it is worth coming back. I must say, it definitely was worth it. The chicken noodle soup was soo filling. Had some hearty vegetables and they definitely did not skip out on the chicken. I had to push myself to finish my sandwich as I was already too full! Thank you for amazing service and I am definitely coming back

So not only were we stressing about our first born, but personally I was also very stressed for my wife as I wanted to make sure she had a good recovery (as per traditional Cantonese ways). I can make some soups myself, but I just couldnt imagine being able to find the time. When we found Let's Soup we were elated as this was exactly what we were looking for in the GTA - A traditional Asian (Chinese) herbal soup place! Lets Soup is located at the corner of Yonge and 16th avenue on the South East corner at the base of the condo building. This is a very small store that is strictly for take out. When we first came to order it took about 15 minutes to prepare. We ended up ordering via messages on their Instagram account and was never disappointed with their service. Honestly I literally can not think of any other place that exists in the GTA (at least when we were looking) that offered this kind of service - Outside of hiring a "lai ma" to come and cook and cook for us. This was the next best thing and it was an absolute god send. I dont deny though, everyones taste is different, raised differently and of course different experiences with food and cooking. Unfortunately, I dont think there is any restaurant out there that can truely replace a parents cooking thats made with love - But Lets Soup is an extremely close second. My wife and I purchased some soup to try them out, and was happy enough that we decided to get the full "post partum recovery" set (pre paid for a set number of soups at a slight discount) So we had the chance to try many of their soups. Serving size was more then enough for 2 adults or one very hungy wife that just gave birth :) This was absolutely perfect for us, and we still went back even after we had the package to pick up more soups. I would absolutely not hesitate to recommend this place, as honestly what other places can compare? This is almost a one of a kind service in the GTA as far as I am aware On top of all this, I had nothing but excellent service every time I went. They were always friendly and happy, offered lots of advice for having a first child and were just over all awesome. I hope they can continue to improve and grow. Keep up the good work!

Most places only have those egg drop soups to buy (at least in rhill), which I'm not a big fan of. I've been ordering a couple of times already and the soups are quite consistent. Such a cute mom n pop shop - they even cut their carrots into flowers! They got the Chinese mom approval from my mom if that helps. You also get fortune cookies! Side note: order ahead because you don't want to or even have an opportunity to park in this plaza while you wait and might have to go all the way around the first time since there's limited space (idk who planned this area but we have beef now).

I have also got a free bowl of soup and a free dessert that expired five days after the deal was in my offers in the Z! Eats app. Zoup! (also known as Z! Eats) currently has three locations in Ontario. I tend to go to the one on Dixie in Mississauga, as it's closest to my workplace. I decided to expand my horizons last Saturday by visiting this one in Newmarket while I was in the area running a few errands. This eatery is by highway 404, so it's convenient to get here. It's in the same plaza as Booster Juice. This eatery is in a row of four businesses, between Starbucks and Osmow's. I pulled into the parking lot on a Soggy Saturday. I pulled out my Z! Eats app and placed my order. I had a $2-off offer to use. I got the following items: - Wild mushroom barley soup - Pulled pork mac and cheese I paid through the app. I had to add a credit card. All was great. I got an estimated time of five minutes for my order to be ready. I got distracted seeing a bakery in the same plaza. I visited it while waiting for my order to be ready. I probably spent fifteen minutes at this bakery. Oops! I drove back to Z! Eats (it's a vast plaza) and got the same parking spot. I walked into the eatery. I was the only person here. I got a friendly man who happened to be the owner. I complimented his hours. This eatery is open till 7 pm on Saturdays. The Dixie location is open till 5 pm, but I have been there well before closing and it was already closed. It was a lovely chat. I wasn't expecting him to give me a coupon for a BOGO entree option the next time that I am here or at the Cambridge location. So nice! He asked me whether I wanted butter with my baguette. I said yes. He had my order ready and handed it over to me. He wished me a safe drive, as there was a freezing rain warning. I wished him the same thing when he hit the road in an hour. I took the backroads and then feasted at home. I am absolutely longing to have the wild mushroom barley soup again. It had so many sliced mushrooms, carrots, onions, barley, and more. It was hearty and delicious. I got a bowl. I find the cup to be too small. I haven't tried whatever the larger size is. I may need to get it next time. This soup was fabulous. It's also vegan. The pulled pork mac and cheese was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to get shells. They were perfect to scoop up more of the cheesy sauce. The shells were cooked perfectly. I loved it. The pulled pork was generous. I liked that the barbeque sauce was drizzled over the pulled pork only. Sometimes, the sauce is overly sweet that it overpowers everything. The sauce was smoky and tangy. It was perfect without dominating the mac and cheese. I tend to have the baguette the next day for breakfast. I like making eggs, slicing the baguette in half, toasting it in a pan, and then putting scrambled eggs on top of each slice. The baguette is excellent and I always look forward to getting it with my soup. You can also get crackers instead of the baguette. If you don't like either, you can also say no thanks. It was my first time getting mac and cheese at Z! Eats. So good! I'll be back for more. This location had tables and chairs if you'd like to dine in. It was clean and cheerful. I'm glad that I dropped by this eatery. I'll be back for more. It's the closest location to my home. (115)
