Beijing Hot Pot is a lovely restaurant for groups and gathering with friends. We arrived on a Saturday and managed to get a table before it started to get busy. Our group ordered the split pot for AYCE, and we got the mushroom broth and spicy broth. For the fillings, I ordered sliced lamb, sliced beef, noodles, dumplings and many quail eggs. For an AYCE restaurant, I was impressed with the quality and taste of the meat, noodles, and even the broth. It definitely is a step above other AYCE hot pot restaurants. Our server frequently stopped by to refill our pot and check-in, which is also a plus. I would highly recommend calling ahead or reserving a table through Yelp, as they get quite busy in the evenings.

Right from the start the service here was very quick. We got our menus, chose what we wanted, and then within a minute food was appearing on our table. Strangely, they didn't offer to bring us glasses of water and we finally asked for it half way through the meal. However, they actually brought us everything we asked for where many other hotpot places usually forget about part of our order. The selection on the menu was pretty good but could have been better. Other places have a much wider variety of sauces available, but here we were limited to four choices. The meat was great quality, but again we would have liked more options. All the vegetables were fresh and very flavourful. We were pleasantly surprised to see the dessert menu. The fried buns were really good and there were a few great options for ice cream too.

My husband and I have eaten here many times. It's our first choice for hot pot because it has the broth we like. The mushroom is good, the spicy is spicy, but yet has flavour, not just heat and I love the pork bone. The service is excellent , but you have to remember there is a time limit of 2 or less hours depending on the day. When it's busy reservations are lined up snd servers need to clean and reset everything., even if its not busy, you need to go, I appreciate the last call and reminder of the time. Another yelper did not. The servers are very polite and tactful. It's all on the menu. If you re not familiar with the restaurant type, just ask, the manager is very helpful. Also the service is different, if you want another beer or beverage, or some dishes removed. You need to move them to the side of the table or raise your hand. It's a little different. The variety of food is good, my husband loves the dumplings. I prefer the variety of tofu and bean curd. The veggies are good, everything is always fresh, seafood is on the menu and if you like the really expensive or exotic food, it's available for a small extra charge. They frequently refill the soup, it simmers away fast. The restaurant is very clean and if you look in the kitchen, it's the same. Clean and sanitary is a big thing for me. We've booked reservations on Yelp or called. The place can get pretty busy later on. So reservations are a good idea. So many young people eat here. If you want in and it's busy, you may have a long wait. Some one mentioned a problem with language. I've had none at all, Overall I would recommend this pls e and we will be returning. A great hot pot to try and become a regular

Solid all you can eat hotpot! Good broths, good quality meat, and lots of options. It doesn't feel super upscale, but the food was decent so I don't mind! I've had better but I'd definitely still go back here!

Hidden in a small plaza across from Fairview mall, I've been here multiple times with my husband. As I love spicy hotpot and my husband loves lamb. Now, I for one do not like lamb as it can be too gamey for me. But the lamb here at Beijing is NOT gamey at all! So for me, I was able to enjoy as much lamb as my husband. The offer other cuts of beef and a variety of veggies, noodles, and other ingredients you would usually eat for hotpot. Soup base is extra cost, but my husband really enjoys the tomato base and I enjoy the spicy broth, so it's not a big deal for us. It is small inside and it's always busy so be sure to make resos!

I seldom have hot pot or even AYCE option when I go out to eat. But my experience at Beijing Hot Pot Restaurant might change my mind. The restaurant itself is clean. I love how everything is so organized. The option of havine 1/2/3/4 different soup base in one pot is just genius! Our group of 3 were able to have our own favourite/individual soup base without sharing with others! I can go all the way and order my spicy mala soup while others can enjoy mushroom base or pork bone base! Win Win situation for all of us. The quality of meat is quite good for an AYCE. Other selection is good. I especially love the different kind of mushrooms that offers and even different kind of soy products too. This is one of those places I can go eat with a vegetarian and we can both enjoy our own personal hot pot. Service was excellent. All orders were delivered promptly which is really important as there is a 1.5 hour time limit. The experience can be a little rush but it works well if you are waiting for a table.

This is a traditional way to have a hotpot in Beijing. Not exactly copy and paste due to many reasonable factors close enough!!! The price is also reasonable. I have been to this place multiple times and introduced them to my friends. I can tell some people from the south of China may not accept this way to have hotpot~but it's good enough for me to fill my appetite.

This place is bombbbb. The variety and quality of food as well as the service are the highlights of this place. I always prefer AYCE because you don't have to enforce what you're getting and worry about what you'll pay at the end. The variety of items on the menu was really great, and they give you the food in the perfect quantities so you're able to try out things you're curious about without having to commit to it/risk you wasting too much food if you aren't a fan. My favourite food items include the sliced beef (super fresh), taro noodles (so fun and easy to eat!!), tripe, and the knotted kelp. You have to pay $8.99 extra should you choose to order a flavoured broth that isn't just water-based. I decided to go with the pork bone. I'm not a hot pot expert and have not tried too many broths in the past... but my take on it (TIP:) is that if you aren't picky and are a new hot pot eater, the water based broth will def suffice. The taste of the broth changes pretty soon anyways since you're cooking food in it, so if you get water based broth it becomes pretty flavourful eventually - if you like spicy, ordering the spicy beef will transform your soup broth drastically. Others might say otherwise that the broth matters but this is just my take as an amateur hot potter. The service here is excellent!! The owner/manager is always on high alert and manages the business very well, from the beginning stages of communicating with you and keeping you up to date with wait times, to your meal when he spots you needing attention right away and tells one of the servers who will assist you within 3 seconds. The servers are always standing by and watching over the tables... super attentive. Unfortunately the restaurant space is pretty small, so at peak times there definitely will be a wait. The wait time for me was an hour yesterday, but since Fairview is close by I killed time there and time flew by. I told this to the manager beforehand, who gave me a call when he noticed the guests in our table close to leaving, to give us enough time to make it back right before our table was fully prepared. One other minor detail is that their plates are bit small for eating off of, and I had to ask for a ladle as they don't give it to you right off the bat, which I found a little weird for a hot pot place. Overall this place is great. I'm not sure if you can make reservations but if you can, the only barrier is the wait times. But I think it was worth the wait because the food was great and it was altogether a very positive dining experience for sure.

Came as a larger group of 8, never knew there were restaurants tucked into this small plaza. The place is very busy, and understandably strict with the seating limit. An AYCE hot pot place, there is quite a selection of foods you can order. What I stood out to me were the large plates of nicely rolled slices of meat. The plates were generously stacked, which I appreciated seeing as we were a group of 8, so we didn't have to keep ordering. Also nice was the different mushrooms they offered. Quality was overall good, with some of the pre-prepared foods like assorted balls, seafood here and there. Service was great. The waiters had good English and were quite friendly.

The broth was sweet, savoury, and not overly tangy. We got it with sweet potato noodles, which had the most satisfying and addictive chew. There was already so much meat and veg in there that you really don't need to add much else. My only thing is I wish there were more sweet potato noodles to go with everything in the bowl. We added the pig trotter (because duh!), which was perfectly seasoned, tender, and had that nice gelatinous texture. Because of how big the portion was, we took the leftovers home, added more glass noodles, and was still able to get two full meals out of it the next day! The MaoCai broth was pretty spicy. We went with medium, and were breaking a sweat. The numbing heat hits fast and makes it hard to sip on the broth while eating (definitely not for the weak). Still, it had a solid ratio of meat to veg to noodles, and everything held up well with the broth. The parfaits were exactly what we needed after all that hotpot. The Citrus Garden Green Tea had a nice blend of green tea, citrus, and coconut that worked surprisingly well together. But the Brown Sugar Black Tea Parfait was our favourite. The tapioca balls were perfectly chewy and not too sweet, and the mix of black tea and grass jelly gave it such a good combo of textures. It was rhe perfect cool down. From what I hear, if you can say their tongue twister 3x in 30s you can get 50% off their new ice cream parfaits!

Drink is good (maybe it's grape? it was offered in a small paper cup by the door as we exit). Free soft vanilla ice cream at the end (perfect to balance the savory soup). Fast service. Busy! As you come in, right away walk to the machine by the door to register ur name for waitlist. P.S. Reading reviews, somebody mentioned about mixing broth. So I tried to do the same, but it's not allowed (only order 1 type of broth). Highly recommended

This is a new concept for us US-East Coasters and we enjoyed the customer service and the process…read moreof how to get your ingredients and how they served your bowl. So, how this works is you get your pot/bowl, get the ingredients you want first, they scale your bowl on how much to charge you, then you select your broth. I didn't want to die that night, so I got the Collagen Bone Broth. Very simple! You can also make your own dipping sauce on the side which made it very convenient if you got a simple broth like me. Restaurant is very modern and hip. I love how things were kept clean, such as the table, floor, stations to get your sauce. We ended with getting the matcha ice cream which was really good! Highly recommend this spot, for sureeee!

I have been to a few malatang and I had high hopes for this one... it did not meet my expectations…read more I joined the waitlist and got called when my table was ready. The area to pick up a bowl was hectic. Very crowded space between picking ingredients and paying. You don't get a table until you pick up your bowl + paid. Everything was just stressful - lots of people, I am in my bulky jacket, holding my purse, etc. The food took some time to come out. Probably around 30 minutes... Ingredients were missing from some of our bowls. And some of the stuff was overcooked. The kimchi soup also had little soup and was very thick??? All the soups were salty but not particularly fragrant or super flavourful. As someone who loves soup noodles, I was not impressed. The best part of the meal was the ice cream. They had a seasonal flavour, ube, which was good but on the sweeter side. The matcha ice cream was great - and my favourite part of my meal. Our bowls ranged from $18 to $30 per a bowl. It's an additional $2 to add cheese and $3 do a bowl of rice. The restaurant can get very busy on a weekend evening, and noisy!
