My friend has lived in Chengdu and so we were really excited to try this restaurant. This place's ambiance was bright, and it was clean. We didn't know whether to seat ourselves as no one greeted us at first until we walked to a table. At this point, a server confirmed that we can take a seat at the table we walked up to. We ordered the double soup bases which included the spicy. We picked the summer lemon soup base for the second one. We love spicy food and my friend told me that this place was very authentic and spot on in terms of the Chengdu flavour profile. We really liked how everything was skewered which made it a lot easier for us to pick out the meats from the soup. The summer lemon soup base was a great complement to the spicy soup. It really helps cut the spiciness and it was a light broth with lots of flavour and a refreshing citrus taste. The summer lemon was also great for the seafood and the vegetables and we kept the spicy for all the meats. They have a wide selection of meats, seafood, vegetables and noodles. You also get to make your own sauce mix for dipping. Overall, the food was 5/5. The service itself could've been better as it felt like the staff weren't particularly attentive. We ordered two sets of half & half broths (pork bone soup, spicy, tomato, and mushroom). The food is self-serve all-you-can-eat style, with a huge selection of skewered meats (marinated or plain), seafood (including giant crab shells, lobster, prawns, shrimps, squid, and fish), and tons of vegetables all lined up along a wall. Each person can grab a metal tray and pile it high with food to bring back to their table. Unfortunately, the crab shells and lobster heads sunk down to the bottom of the pot immediately, so a good portion of tomalley was lost while cooking. Bonus points for the constant restock of seafood though. My favourite was the tomato broth as the slight acidity enhanced the flavour of the food. The restaurant was spacious and not too busy on a weekday night. We did have to flag the servers down a few times when we had issues with our hot pot stove (either over boiling or not heating up at all). The controls were not exactly user-friendly. We also had to combine our trays multiple times and ask the servers to take away empty trays as there was not enough space on the tables to accomodate everything. On the other side of the raw food is a sauce station where you can build your own concoction (soy, vinegar, peanuts, sesame oil and paste, sugar, scallions, ginger, etc). Came here for late night hotpot. Got in a bit before 11, left at 2. We were hoping to find some night owl deals, but that didn't happen. This place was charging 30 per person plus $20 for shared soup. Paid about $45 after tax and 10% tip. This place does a lot of skewers. One ingredient per skewer, so one mushroom, one shrimp, one dumpling, etc. There was also crab legs and lobsters available, which means ayce crab and lobster. Surprising, but probably low quality as the meat was quite rubbery. Either that or I don't know how long to cook them. There's only one platter of fresh beef sllces, but an entire section of seasoned meat. Personally I prefer plain old meat, as it tastes a lot better and I can somewhat tell that it isn't days old meat with its colour glossed over with marinade, so this was a bit unfortunate. For prepared food, they had a box of takoyaki. Pretty nice. They also had unlimited cherries and watermelon. Given the price of cherries, I think it's pretty good value. One thing that was pretty annoying was the water dripping from the pipes overhead. Every minute or so, there's water drops hitting the seats or table. The staff said it was just condensation and all the tables along the pipes were the same. The cleanliness of the pipes is questionable. Liu Yi Shou in the other plaza offered $40 late night ayce including soup and all you can drink from 11 to 2. Would've paid more but might have been better. read more

First time trying some spicy Hot pot and boy was it delicious! So much to choose from and so many skewers of all you can eat goodness. If you pay cash, you can get a can of soda and a small appetizer which we picked this chewy doughy cake like dessert which was surprisingly good! Price was decent but the soup base is extra which is fine because we expected it when we went online to look at the menu. I don't want to gross you guys out but there are so many different kinds of skewer for the hot pot you can think of from duck tongue to intestines. I do recommend at the very end, when you are almost done, get some noodles and soak up the flavorful soup that you have been cooking in for the last 2 hours and that noodle was out of this world! Don't forget to get your ice cream on the way out! The only reason why I didn't give them 5 star was that they didn't bring any lobster out until someone else mentioned it and we were almost already full. We came due to the recent hype from social media. Most people raved about the endless seafood (especially the lobster and crab and shrimp). If you're a seafood fan, this place is not a bad choice. It's in the super busy midland plaza near finch with what feels like hundreds of restaurants piled into a strip mall. Parking was ample but that was because we went at 5pm. There was also lots of seating choices in the restaurant despite it being a small joint. The service at the beginning was amazing. They were accommodating as we had a child with us. We picked the AYCE hot pot with the 2 bases (pork bone and medium spicy). $19.99 Per person it was $28.99 for weekday and $4.99 for kids under 4. I actually thought it was a bit crazy considering we had a 9 month old who just started solids with us and we had to pay $5 for him. There is quite a wide variety of foods including chicken heart and all kinds of organs, frog legs etc. quality of the meat slices and veggies was mainly mediocre. The rest were average. The only call out was the unlimited lobster. There was also rice and unlimited melona ice cream. The restaurant was comfortable when we got in coz we were early. It is a relatively smaller space so I would imagine it would be quite packed! Overall not really our cup of tea but a good value if you like lobster! I visited on Wednesday but was charged the holiday price. There was no service, yet they still required a 15% tip and insisted on cash payment. No one came to refill the soup or clear the plates. This seems like a blatant attempt to evade taxes by forcing customers to pay in cash. I'm going to report them to the CRA for an audit. I went during one of their promotions where if 3 people eat, the 4th one is free! On top of that, they had all you can eat crab and lobster included too which is an amazing deal! We got a double broth pot, with one being no spice and one being mild. The midl was still spicy though, so if it' your first time definitely err on the lower end. Only increase your spice levels on later visits when you are sure you can handle it! Getting food is quite easy as everything is neatly organized and labeled on shelves. It does get a bit crowded when it is busy though as everyone is trying to get food at the same time. The seafood goes fast so grab it when you get a chance. We really liked the duck tongue and beef as well. It's restocked pretty regularly which was great. What's great is dessert is included - they had fruit, buns with condensed milk, snow fungus dessert soup, and melona in the fridge by the door. Make sure you check out the fridge, no one really tells you that it's included or there so it's easy to miss out! This place is a great deal for hot pot in an area flooded with hot pot. And the reason is entirely because of the seafood it offers. It is ayce crab and lobsters plus other seafood. The seafood is actually really fresh the selection choices are plenty. So you can easily eat your money's worth. I first saw this on BlogTo (I think) and was bracing myself to be catfished. I had heard the food wasn't that fresh but also saw that crab and lobster and wanted to see for myself. Honestly the meat selection was really weak. They only had 2 types of sliced meats and a few other non-sliced meats and veggies. The variety wasn't great but they had all the necessities. The highlight was definitely the endless lobster and crab. The shellfish seemed to be killed then frozen during peak season meaning they were FULL of roe. The only thing is that some leg pieces of the crab weren't cracked and they didn't have any crackers available so people were just using their teeth (which is a big nono). AYCE hot pot that includes seafood without hidden fees/upcharges. Need I say more? I love that it's 100% self serve, however it does come with it's ups and downs. This definitely helps keep costs low and allows patrons to do their own thing without judgement, but some patrons can also be ignorant to boundaries and health regulations... With that said, service isn't non existant as the workers were more than happy to assist us when needed. We had such a great experience that we wanted to nicely tip one specific worker for being so patient with us, and she actually turned it down and took half fo what we offered. Roughly $30 dollars per person plus the pot price. Two people roughly $70. Which is not bad at all! You start with choosing your own soup pot flavours. If you can do spicy, i would suggest the 3rd level. 2nd level isnt too spicy (personally). Then you choose your dipping sauce, I love putting soya sauce, minced garlic, sliced red peppers and peanut sauce. Mixed them together, DELICIOUS After that, you go their fridge and go crazy on your choices. They have plenty of meat, vegetables and noodle option. There's 2 options, all you can eat hot pot or fish on a hot plate (not AYCE) We went with the AYCE HOT POT, the menu is confusing, we thought there was only those limited choices there on the menu, but those have prices in them, those are extra $. All you have to do is choose your soup base. So you pick your soup and then go make your sauce and fill up your plate with all the skewers in the fridge inside, and go and refill as many times as you like!! This is very different from other AYCE HOT POT PLACES and we enjoyed the food and the experience here, it's very self serve and the waiters leave you alone, a very nice and chill place to hang out and eat with friends. read more

I rarely go for hotpot so for this dinner experience, it was something new for me. Overall, it was expensive considering the hotpot soup (where you cook the skewers, vegetables etc) is not included in the price! It felt like going to any restaurant and ordering from their menu then charged for plates and cutleries! Variety was OK. Chicken, offals, beef, mushrooms, shrimps, lobster, scallops, crab, fish, vermicelli/rice, and various types of vegetables. Desserts: cut-up watermelon, honeydew melon and fried sliced bun with condensed milk. Taste was so-so. Most meats are not fresh, disguised/doctored with too much spiced-sauce. You will taste the difference between meats that have been frozen in its fresh-state versus meats that have been frozen in its near rotting stage. Their rolled beef meats are in the former state while most meats, specially their chicken wings, were in the latter state. Unfortunately, both lobster/crab offerings were not fresh (not a surprise). Customer service was OK. AMBIANCE WAS NOT FOLLOWING COVID19 PROTOCOL. Buffet-style, open-fridge skewer compartments encouraged crowding and contamination. SOCIAL DISTANCING was not observed hence, masks must be worn. First and last time here. Can't believe that they charge $20 extra for hotpot soup on top of the $30/person fee.
