    Noodles, cilantro, peanuts, salty chicken
    Sara B.

I ordered the street style noodles with the salty chicken. The noodles tastes so fresh and I loved the crunch and juiciness of the chicken. One thing that sets it apart is the taste of the noodles, they taste homemade and lively. It was quiet and peaceful environment, not many people when I first entered which worried me and my partner. But we have it a shot and it's been one of our new favourites! The server was also amazing in the Bloor area I visited, super sweet and kind! She was also so informative about ingredients and the broth, a great experience overall (:

Hey Noodles continues to bring their broths and fresh noodles with many toppings to choose from, especially in the Vaughan area! Ranging from tender beef brisket to pork belly, you can enjoy their al dente noodles in their refreshing broth! If you want to increase the spice level, you have the opportunity to do , but be sure to be mindful as the spices can be numming! With their unlimited refills for noodles, it is a great deal for any meal especially if you are looking for a deal!

Hey Noodles is a chain restaurant that specializes in Chongqing street noodles. I've never been to this location before, so I stopped by on a Tuesday for lunch. The restaurant is fairly small with a few tables. Upon seating, you can scan the QR code on the table and place an order. I decided to order the noodle dish that they are known for, the xiao mian Chongqing street noodles. The noodle dish was loaded with peanuts, cilantro, and green onions. I was expecting a flavorful broth, but it tasted a bit watered down. I guess the taste comes from the spicy numbing flavor/feeling. I enjoyed the chewy noodles, though. For an inexpensive meal, this noodle soup is not bad.

A great and affordable place for Sichuan style noodles. You get to pick the spice and numbing level, which I chose regular spice and numbing. I got the stewed chicken and mushroom lunch combo which came with a drink and appetizer or dessert. The soup was nice and flavourful. The tofu skin appetizer had a nice marinade.

Chongqing noodles - egg noodles minced pork with peas $15.00

Not sure why ratings are so low here. Solid bowl of bouncy noodles. Located at a strip mall across from Vaughan Mills mall with plenty of parking out front. I went on a weekday for lunch, only a few tables occupied, tried the "Minced pork with pea noodle" which is chick peas for those of you wondering. I opted to add peanuts which I won't do next time, since I'm not a peanut fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Soup base was flavorful and spicy just as i requested, you can choose to your spicy and numbness level. I'd def recommend my friends if in the area. For the reviews that wanted Pho or ramen and went to a Chinese noodle shop expecting something similar, what gives?? And the reviews about overcooked noodles for TAKE OUT ‍ ... just Bonkers! It's a solid noodle shop, and service was just fine. Have it a go. Cheers.

We ordered vegetarian noodles and chicken dumplings. The noodle wasn't flavorful at all. The portion size was really good though. The dumplings were the biggest let down. Overall, this is a big pass for me. Won't come again.

The noodles here were really flavorful. The menu is customizable (you can choose the type of noodle, noodle texture, spice level and even the level of numbness), so you really tailor the dish to suit your preferences. The bowl was fairly big. I had read some reviews about being able to get extra noodles for no charge, although I did not see any mention of this in the menu. They also gave us bottled water as soon as we sat down and mentioned that this was free... not sure if this is just during covid, or if its normal. Service was friendly. Free wifi Note even when dining in everything was disposable (bowl, silverware, water bottle, etc.)... not sure if this is just during COVID but not the most environmentally friendly

Hey Noodles - Szechuan-style Beef Brisket Noodles, huge portion, decent spice, and tender protein. Last dine-in for a while!
    Mike H.

Hey Noodles, welcome to the neighborhood! We were pleasantly surprised to find their signage pop up near Vaughan Mills a few months back. We even dropped by only to find out they weren't quite open yet. It's unfortunate that shortly after grand opening, dine-in was shuttered by COVID-19 safety measures and business hasn't picked up yet. Good thing is they do make takeout quite accessible. The specialty here is the Chongqing street noodles. Rich hot chili broth is filled with numbing peppercorns and garnishes for extra flavor. It supposedly took over 80 recipe variations to arrive at what they felt was "the one." Each bowl has multiple noodle options including sweet potato vermicelli which is becoming popular these days. The Szechuan-style noodle soup goes well on its own, or with protein options such as pork bellies, ribs, minced meat or marinate egg. For dine-in, there's unlimited noodle refills. In the meantime, they offer takeout specials and even donated food to a local hospital so kudos to them! The spicy wontons are also a hit while rice dishes are less popular offerings. After all, it is a noodle shop. And brown sugar rice jelly or Yakult milk drinks are refreshing if you don't mind overly sweet dessert / drink options. Takeout is not quite as tasty as dine-in but is well-packed and generously portioned. Staff do a great job of social distancing and started wearing face coverings long before the recent trend.

    Pork rib noodle
    Yu X.

I ordered their takeout of pork rib noodles trying to support small local business during coronavirus, especially my husband always visit this chain restaurant at a different location. The food quality was terrible (2 stars for the food). Noodles were very soggy and flavourless. It just expanded in my stomach and made it uncomfortable for the rest of the day. Soup was oily and not drinkable. The noodle came with big portion of pork rib, but not much veggie. The pork rib was super dry and had no flavour. The noodle soup had an unpleasantly old smell. What made me give them three stars despite the bad food quality was the owner's attitude in preparing the takeout. They put a note indicating the chef on duty was healthy and this can greatly release customers' worry. They also drawed a smiley face to cheer people up. The owner lighted up my day, but not his/her food. They currently have buy one get one free promotion.

A few stores beside Cha time, Hey Noodles is a franchise noodle shop that specializes in spicy noodles. For Covid procedures, they have the sneeze guards on each table and have moved to an app based ordering system. You sit down and scan the QR code on the corner of the table. I recommend you doing it on one person's device, because it all gets sent to the kitchen at one time and is connected to your table number. They have chinese and english, so if you don't understand, look for the language converter. I ordered the beef noodles, egg noodles and a spicy broth. The meat was very very tender. The broth had good flavour and the noodles had the right consistency you would hope for in any noodle shop. The problem? For me, I eat lots of spice, but their spice level was a little too much for me. And when I say I eat spice, think korean spicy level. I may order a lower spice level the next time. I also ordered the fried chicken bites. This were not good. Yes they were crispy and you get a cup of chicken for like... $8 or so? But there was no flavour. Absolutely no flavour and nothing to dip it in. Service seemed nice. They gave us a bottle of water each complimentary and since it's their opening time, theyve got this spinning wheel of prizes you can have fun with.

Vegetarian Noodles, Pork Rib soup noodles, minced pork on the side, and popcorn chicken
    Jayson Z.

We ordered the vegetarian dry mixed noodles, the egg noodle with pork ribs, minced meat on the side, and an order of popcorn chicken. Overall the noodles were okay, a bit overcooked and not as much chew/"QQ" as I would have liked, however maybe we just got an off batch but the popcorn chicken really had a off putting smell & taste. Seems like the batch we ordered were maybe sitting out for too long.

These noodle bowls really do hit the spot for late night, street-style Chinese comfort food! With adjustable spice levels and a good variety of flavours and customizations, everyone is sure to find something to their liking. The price seems steep at first for "just a bowl of noodles" but the portion is really comparable to popular ramen chains so I think it's fair! I've only been able to get takeout so far, so the experience has been detracted a bit. They're takeout packaging is recyclable and reusable where possible, and utensils and napkins are packed in a paper envelope which has reheat instructions - a two-in-one solution that tries its best to be environmental and convenient. Back to the food. So far I've had no complaints - you're getting what's advertised! Even the mildest spice level (above no spice) was on the heated side for me, so be warned. It is definitely a big sell point and part of the experience, so if you can handle it I think this is a great option! I've also tried their yam noodles which look like clear udon - they do soften quicker so I was not as much a fan. By default, egg noodles make the most sense to me! Do note that their noodles will come chilled if you're getting takeout - I think this is part of their process to chill their cooked noodles to stop the cooking process at the right time, accounting for reheating and to maximize chewiness. I've also gotten their deep fried buns as a dessert item and that has been more hit or miss - a huge score discount in my opinion. The first time they seemed to have been left in the deep fryer for too long, or refried - because they were golden brown almost all the way through and were more like stale croutons. The next time was slightly better, but still had an "over fried" sensation about them. Probably not a recommended item, if you're looking for a top up maybe consider their appetizers instead!

While the noodles were not crispy, the dish was loaded with chicken, shrimp, bok choy, mushroom & other vegetables that soaked up the delicious savoury sauce. We added a cream corn soup to round out. I've also had the Szechuan Chicken before and have to admit it's another hit fast food dish. This restaurant has a mash of different menu items including pho, sushi & Thai curry as well. The sushi rolls were passable. It doesn't have to be perfectly authentic to be a good option at the mall. While we've never tried the server experience, the metal takeout tables here work perfectly fine for a quick meal. For our latest meal, we had the Ginger Beef with rice which is another pleasant Chinese takeout dish popularized locally. It came hot out of the kitchen. The deep fry technique here preserved the tenderness of the beef much better than other places where I've tried this dish. It went well with the crispy batter drenched in sweet spicy soy sauce. Skip it or it hit? If you're looking for Asian food at the mall, an occasional visit here is not bad.

Once you start those wings, you can't stop. In fact, these wings are so good that I ordered 200 of them for my party last winter, and I still don't get tired of those damn wings! Also - they are great if you keep them in the fridge for a day & reheat them too. Although their fried rice and vegetables are not as out-of-this-world as their wings, they all still pack great wok hei while tasting surprisingly "healthy" (because they are not as heavily seasoned as other Chinese food places). I think the chef wanted to ensure that the other dishes did not steal the show of their wings. Overall, I strongly recommend China Wok Superb Chinese food, regardless of whether you want to grab a combo meal with wings, rice and vegetables or just ten wings for a meal. We were watching on YouTube and saw that the bloggers were reviewing the location in Richmond Hill. We assumed that the Vaughan location was the same one. So, that was our fault. But, we decided to stay and didn't feel like traveling all the way to the other one. We were immediately seated after we arrived. The place is pretty big, with a very elegant interior. Tables seating up to 4 people line the leftmost wall, which has framed paintings adorning it. Circular tables for groups of 8 sit in the center of the restaurant and on all of the tables are crisp white tablecloths with beautifully folded green cloth napkins. The specials are also written on a framed green chalkboard on the back wall and the place is illuminated by built-in spotlights. We ordered the following: Braised Tofu with vegetables - Daughter liked it a lot. She said that it tasted like Chinese takeout but in a good way. Basa Fish Chili Bean Sauce- This was ok, but I thought the sauce was the same as the other orders. Spicy eggplant with shrimp- Hubs said that this tasted similar to the braised tofu with vegetables and it was ok. Overall, we felt that these 3 entrees and sauce all tasted the same. It was ok but no big deal. This place is located next to a mall, so there was plenty of parking. Service was quick and friendly. We told our server about daughter's peanut allergy and it was noted on our bill. There were quite a few other tables occupied. I'm glad we got a chance to try this place. The Hakka Chow Mein was actually quite good-tasty, well prepared (noodles were not too hard/soft); we ordered spicy and it had a hint of spice but not enough kick. I had forgotten that it was customary after a Chinese funeral (his mom was Chinese and her husband was Vietnamese) to have something to eat after a funeral. I was moved that he was thinking of me during a difficult time. I said yes. He got his niece to get me the address of the restaurant. She conveniently had a business card, which made it easy. I saw Legend Chinese Restaurant. I put it into my maps app, and drove my friend and me over there. He insisted that I drive him. Maybe my company provided him comfort. I know that the reverse was true. It was nice to spend some more time catching up with him as we headed northbound. This eatery is in a plaza with Red Lobster across from it. We had dined there together eons ago. There was lots of parking. I backed into a spot and we walked over to the restaurant. A woman greeted us. Both of us wearing black made her realize that we were a part of a larger group that had come from a funeral. She pointed us into a closed area with wall dividers that separated us from the rest of the customers chowing down. We didn't have dim sum. Instead, we had an eight-course meal. I had never dined here, so I was looking forward to what we were about to eat. Each table had to make one seat space open for the server to come with food. I happened to be next to this gap. It has its pros and cons. I helped move dishes and such to make way for new dishes to arrive. Our server did spill some water on the table, but it wasn't crazy. I loved the lazy Susan. Our table had eight people. It was needed to get to whatever we wanted on it. We had hot looseleaf tea and hot water in tea pots. The tea was yummy, but I had no clue what it was. We ended up pouring the hot water into the looseleaf tea pot when we were running low. Our server was also great to refill the pot with the looseleaf tea a number of times. We got the following items during our meal: - Roasted pork - Shrimp and scallop soup - Chicken - Sweet and sour pork - Shrimp and scallops with sugar snaps - Steamed fish - Mushrooms with baby bok choy - Tofu pudding - Fortune cookies Half our table were vegetarians, so almost everything wasn't suitable, except for the tofu pudding. Folks at the table were kind to let me take photos of most dishes before we wrecked them, except for the vegetarian tofu vegetable medley that came out. They were so hangry that they simply went in. I have a mental picture of the generous rectangles of tofu, with mushrooms and baby bok choy. There may have been more veggies. I was happy that they could finally eat! We started with the roasted pork. It was excellent. The pork was succulent. The pork skin was crispy. Delicious! I loved the shrimp and scallop soup. It had small cubes of shrimp and baby scallops in a nice broth. The large bowl of soup sat next to me. It was deadly. I love soup. No one wanted seconds, so I polished it all. The chicken was tender. It was nice with the scallion oil. My friend and I remarked that the sweet and sour pork was excellent. It's probably because we are so used to chicken as the protein. The pork was crispy even with the sweet and sour sauce coating each morsel. The pork was tender. I loved the bell pepper and the pineapple chunks. The shrimp and scallops with sugar snaps was divine. I love sugar snaps and they were perfectly cooked while still crispy. The shrimp and scallops were large and yummy. I grew up with my mom steaming an entire fish. It's dealing with the bones that is annoying. Thankfully, a man at our table went ahead and portioned out the fish such that he eliminated most of the bones. Wow! Can I have this man de-fillet any fish that I want to eat?! The fish was naturally yummy from the steaming method. I loved the green onions on top and the soy-based sauce. I love mushrooms. The fact that we had an assorted mushroom dish with baby bok choy was awesome! Sadly, there was oyster sauce in this dish, so the vegetarians couldn't enjoy it with us. There were two different types of mushrooms. The large ones were meaty. The smaller ones were yummy, but difficult to pick up with chopsticks. I ended up eating them with a soup spoon. There was steamed rice at our table. I had some with the mushroom sauce. It was delicious. We ended up with tofu pudding. We got to scoop the tofu out and then add the syrup. The tofu and syrup were warm. It was a delightful dessert that wasn't all that sweet. We got a large bowl of fortune cookies to end our meal. My fortune said that I tend to be straightforward and honest. My friend joked that my fortune was completely wrong... haha! I used the washroom before I headed home. The women's washroom was clean. No complaints. I loved the food here. It was top-notch delicious. It was comforting and much needed. I'd love to have dim sum here and see what that's like. (413)
