Petit Noodle located near Yonge and Empress serves up Hong-Kong style cart noodles. They are actually owned by the restaurant group that consists of Petit Potato, Congee Queen, Sushi Legend, Ghu Kyou Japanese BBQ, Congee Wong, The Queen, and Good Catch Cafe. Petit Noodle shares the same entrance of Petit Potato, however, Petit Noodle occupies the main floor of the space while Petit Potato is upstairs. Both restaurants have different food and concepts so stay downstairs if you want to dine at Petit Noodle. The space at Petit Noodle is small, where they are able to seat around 30 customers. There are primarily tables of 2 as well as counter seating which is perfect for solo diners. The restaurant has gotten popular these past few months as the restaurant has invited food influencers/content creators to come by for a meal to promote their restaurant. Menu wise, the menu primarily has noodles. There is an ordering sheet where you just check off what you want. There are a few pre-set noodle bowls for you to choose from, however, their 3 to 4 topping bowls are the most popular (3 topping bowl being the cheaper one). After selecting how many toppings you want in your noodle bowl, you are asked to check the type of noodles you want, the toppings you want (there are a lot to choose from! however, some premium toppings will cost $1 more!), and sauce/soup base. Moreover you can select free toppings like green onion, dried garlic, and pickle vegetables. Lastly, drinks are an option as well which cost extra. The menu also consists of a list of small appetizers as well. I dined at Petit Noodle on a Sunday recently where I had a party of 5 people. We decided to come earlier at around noon in order to make sure we were able to get a table. During the month of March, on the weekends you can also play a fun game where you can attempt to stop the timer (located near the entrance) at 10.00 seconds. If you do succeed in stopping the timer at that exact time, you get a free meal. If you record yourself doing the challenge and post it on IG (have to tag Petit Noodle as well), you get 50% off. Either way, the restaurant also has a cash discount if you pay cash. Ordering my bowl of noodles was fairly easy as I checked off what I wanted on the ordering sheet (it is one sheet per person). I decided to get the 3 topping bowl ($13.49) with oil egg noodle, curry fish balls, shrimp wontons, and beef tendon ($1 extra). For my soup base I chose the braised beef brisket sauce and added several free toppings. Lastly, I also got a hot lemon tea as well. After ordering, the food came at a reasonable time. The portions of the bowl were pretty big - I felt quite full afterwards! The oil egg noodles were perfectly cooked and all the toppings were tasty. There were many pieces of beef tendon, 2 shrimp wontons, and 3 curry fish balls. Each noodle bowl does come with one piece of vegetable (today it was bok choy). Service wise, the servers made sure to check our order sheets after we gave them to her. Our bowls were also cleared after we were finished eating as well. Overall, a great place for HK style cart noodles where the customizations are endless! You can definitely come here often and get different toppings all the time as there are just so many to choose from. Since the restaurant is on the smaller side, it is a place where you eat and then leave. A solid spot for noodles in the North York area!

Tried Petit Noodle recently and it's a solid spot for Hong Kong-style noodles. The Super Bowl ($24.49) is massive and comes with lots of toppings plus a crispy fish skin side dish. Definitely shareable. The House Special Bowl ($19.49) was also flavorful, and you can build your own bowl starting at $13.49 if you want something simpler. The toppings are marinated and stewed HK-style, so everything is really well seasoned. They also have a Timer Challenge promotion in March where you can win a free meal if you stop the clock at the right time. Bonus points for free parking and high chairs for kids, but the restaurant is pretty small, so it's better for smaller groups. Good flavors and reasonable prices overall.

Finding authentic Hong Kong street food in North York can be a hit or miss, but Petit Noodle really nails the assignment. It had been quite a while since I last had HK-style cart noodles, and eating here felt incredibly nostalgic--it immediately transported me back to the days when I lived in Hong Kong. The quality is impressively high and holds its own against what you'd find back home. While the space is admittedly a bit small and can feel a little cramped during peak hours, it actually adds to that authentic, cozy "hole-in-the-wall" vibe that makes this kind of comfort food taste even better. The DIY aspect of the menu is great; you get full control to select your preferred noodle type, soup base, and toppings. I've experimented with a few different combinations now, and honestly, everything has been delicious across the board. If you're looking for recommendations, definitely don't sleep on the crispy fish skins or the curry fish balls--they are quintessential HK snacks done perfectly here. To wash it all down, their Hong Kong milk tea is a must-try; it has that ideal balance of richness and strength. It's a gem for anyone craving a genuine taste of HK.

The concept of HK cart noodles is finally here in North York, where customers can customize their bowls to their liking, including the broth, noodles, and ingredients. If you are indecisive, they have premade bowls! If you are hungry, order the supreme bowl, which has more than 10 toppings! It also included fish skins, which were my favorite. The apps we ordered were also massive! Don't forget their refreshing drinks (Ovaltine and lemon honey)! Service was quick and accurate! Don't forget: free 2-hr validated parking!

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Vibe 5/5 Super Nolstagic! 100% reminds me of Hong Kong Cart Noodles AKA 車仔麵! Personally love their Spicy soup base or brisket soup base, but leaning more on spice since i have a little bit of heat But! Haha even giving them 5/5, I would stay away from their cold dishes. I tried a couple items but still wasnt a hit. I would rather use the money i spent on the side dishes on their upgrade toppings But their noods are FIRE! Just come here for that. Wishful thinking: 其實有一啲upgrade tooping係唔係可以唔洗洗加錢 牛腩 or like 沙嗲牛肉 唔係通常唔洗加錢都有得食虽然我最後都係加左

First time visiting here, and it was quite pleasant experience. This is a small but cozy restaurant located on the 1st floor of Petite Potato in North York Empress Walk. We ordered two appetizers (portion was pretty god considering the price), and both were delicious. The beef brisket with radish is recommended! Also we had the supreme bowl, which was very satisfying. It's a big bowl come with many toppings (crispy fish skin was sooooo good). I specially loved that I can replace noodle with vegetables (as I was on low carb diet that day) Staff was attentive and the serving was very quick too. This place reminded me of the time that I visited HongKong :)

Finally tried this place. While cart noodle was suppose to be a quick and relatively budget meal, this was only the pricier end. Although they do have premium toppings like abalone. Have all the HK classics like 牛雜. Everything tasted good. My only thing is the cooking time is sooooooo long, and it shouldn't be. And the drinks are super watered down, whether its the milk tea or honey lemon. Staff is really friendly and explains the menu well. It was quite busy, and we could barely get their attention.

I find the Petit Noodle cart noodle authentic. They use the clear squid 土魷 that we eat in Hong Kong. Very tasty. The curry is just right, not too spicy that will take away the flavour. Lots of toppings to choose from curry fish balls, sweet red sausage. Soft boil eg just to name a few. Upgrade toppings for $1 include abalone, fish tofu, beef brisket. In terms of drinks, they have milk tea, lemon tea, honey lemon. The honey lemon was good. The service is friendly and ambiance very modern with lightings where some items in the menu are on there. I think this is one of the better cart noodle spots in the city!

Noodle soup season is here, and if you're craving a comforting meal on a cold day, Petit Noodle in North York is a great choice. They specialize in authentic Hong Kong-style cart noodles allowing you to customize your own bowl with a selection of noodles, soup bases and various toppings like beef tendons, abalone, crispy fish skin and shrimp wontons. For convenience, pre-made bowls such as the Supreme Bowl, which features nine toppings, are also available. Be sure to try their appetizers & drinks. My cousin and I enjoyed the noodles but wished the broth was hotter. It was very cold that day too so probably the soup just cooled down fast otherwise it was very tasty and in generous portions. We also had some appetizers like Braised Beef Brisket with Radish, Pork Tripe with Cilantro & Peanuts and both were delicious! Their drinks were pretty good too. The staff there are friendly and helpful and we like the restaurant's interior.

And glad we did because all the dishes were huge! We ordered to share: -Ginger Scallion Lobster -Shrimps in lobster sauce on rice -Cantonese Chow Mein -Fried squid -Spring rolls Everything tasted great and fresh but I wish the ginger scallion lobster tasted better. The only thing I did not like was when my mom barely finish they brought out the bill to rush us out. It wasn't that busy since it was after the lunch rush hour. The thing is when the bill came they overcharged us by a buck and we just decided to leave it be along with tipping them greatly. There was absolutely no interaction or even a thanks for stopping by and come back for more. This was my fave spot to eat whenever I'm craving for Chinese food, guess I will have to find something else. It's also cash only since they have an atm by the washroom entrance.

It was so packed but my brother was able to save a table while I did the ordering. This was a very casual and self service type of restaurant in which you can order at the front desk or at their kiosk. They had a limited time "promotion" going on in which you can order a maximum of 2 orders of their xiaolongbao or steamed mini soup dumplings for $2.99 with a minimum spend of $10. But honestly, I've seen this promotion since last year so I'm thinking it's actually a permanent offer. We ordered two orders of their pan fried pork buns, 1 order of their pan fried chicken dumplings, and 2 order of their promotional steamed mini soup dumplings. I thought everything tasted pretty good. The pan fried buns and dumplings were very crispy and quite juicy. My only nitpick is that I wished they put some kind of veggies or chives in their filling. It was just meat and felt too 1 dimensional for me. The steamed mini soup dumplings was actually really good though which is such a surprise at this price point. The outer layer was very thin and the filling was packed with soup. It was very delicious and hearty. Are these the best Chinese dumplings and bun's I've ever had ? No, but they were great especially for the price point. I would definitely come back again next time I am craving Chinese dumplings and buns. Also they take Amex which is always a plus in my book.

The posters outside caught my eye, and I decided to come back with a group of three friends to try it out. We came a bit late around 8 PM, and most of the fish were already sold out except the original. We ended up ordering the Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($40), a whole fish served bubbling hot with three toppings (potatoes, spam, and lotus root). You can choose between catfish and turbot, we chose the turbot fish. It looked extremely spicy, but the spice level was actually perfect. It was a bit on the oily side, but pairing it with rice balanced it out nicely. The fish was very tender and buttery, everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the Stir-Fried Egg with Tomato. The eggs were soft, the tomato sauce was rich. Not to mention the portion size was huge, we even had leftovers after eating until we were full. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had plenty of seating. I think they were doing some sort of promotion so they gave us a $25 off coupon, though it expired pretty quickly so we didn't get to use it. I'd definitely come back for that grilled fish.

A few of their dishes come out on a sizzling plate with flames underneath. They are still in soft-opening mode with several specials. You can see the menus via a QR code. The Hunan cuisine is listed as "Hunan Noodles" and the Szechuan cuisine is listed as "Chopfire Menu". The Szechuan dishes are listed with 1 to 3 chilies representing the spiciness. If you can't handle spicy, then avoid eating the chili pieces and you might "survive". The restaurant decided to minimize their food offerings so that they can focus on refining their dishes in terms of quality and taste, including from customer feedback. We ordered the following: 1. Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($39.95). 2. Home Stir Fried Beef ($21.95). 3. Bullfrog with Baby Ginger ($19.95). 4. Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork ($15.95). 5. Drunk Oolong (charcoal roasted oolong tea base) x 2 ($5.95 x 2). 6. Lemon Taro Balls ($7.95). We also saw the following: 7. Stir-Fried Sliced Pork with Green Pepper Noodle Soup ($9.99). First 10 customers each day, only pays $1.00. 8. Ink Painting Cocktail ($5.95). The Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish came out on a huge sizzling platter. The BBQ Fish, a Turbot Fish, was very fresh and flaky, easily coming off the bone. There is no head attached like at typical Chinese restaurants but it would not have fit in the platter. The platter had a delicious sauce (soupy consistency and not sweet), luncheon meat slices, lotus root slices, and two other vegetables, along with chili pieces. The entire dish tasted great together with the various flavours. The menu listed it as 2-chili spicy but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Home Stir Fried Beef is tender. It is listed as 3-chili but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Bullfrog with Baby Ginger has the bullfrog cut up in little pieces; no you don't see a whole frog! The meat was actually good but most pieces have bones in it, so it takes time to eat it carefully. There was ginger slices in it but it, but we thought the slices were quite large! The Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork was very delicious! It came in a sizzling plate. The Cauliflower was flavourful and was not crunchy and not too soft. I've never had preserved pork slices before; it was quite good, not as salty as Chinese preserved vegetables. The Drunk Oolong has comes in a small bowl a with gin and ice. On the side, they include pieces of the charcoal roasted oolong tea leaves so you can smell it; quite a good smell indeed. You can also order it without the gin, which is what I ordered for mine (since I don't drink alcohol). It was such a nice drink! The Lemon Taro Balls dessert was pretty. In the centre was a slice of lemon. The customer service was good. There is plenty of indoor table and counter seating, including a small private room at the back. There is also an outdoor patio during warmer weather. There is pop music playing in the background. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are two gender-neutral washrooms downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-026

The signature apple wood roasted Peking duck was definitely a highlight, especially with the tableside carving, which made the whole experience feel even more polished and memorable. The skin had that beautiful lacquered finish, and the duck was rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. Our server, Sophia, was bubbly and friendly, giving suggestions and helping with the ordering process for the other person who wasn't as sure what they wanted. We eventually went with two appetizers and two entrees, which was more than enough food, and honestly, we could have only ordered one appetizer. The better of the two appetizers was the CAD 8.95 Hand Shredded Pepper Chicken/手撕椒麻雞/Shou Si Ji. The dish consists of cold chicken in a flavorful sauce, topped with some greens. The chicken was tender, with a mild, pleasant spice and a bit of numbingness from the Sichuan peppercorns, along with some fragrance, presumably from sesame oil. It reminded me a bit of salivating chicken you find in some Szechuan spots, but it was more aromatic and a bit less spicy. The other appetizer was the Steamed Edamame/岩鹽毛豆 with Himalayan pink salt for CAD 5.95. The other person chose between this and the vegetable dumplings, as he avoids pork, and it was, of course, lighter than the other appetizer. The decent portion of edamame was topped with some pickled carrots as a garnish. My main dish was the Braised Beef Noodles/紅燒牛肉面/Hong Shao Niu Rou Mian. The dish included several options, including size, noodle style, and spice level. I chose the large for CAD $20.95, medium spice, and for the noodle style, I chose flat/宽面, as it was closest to the prism style I like at Lanzhou spots in the States. Along with these, I also added a tea egg for an extra CAD 2.95. Outside the add-on, the dish also had a couple of large slices of radish. Compared to some spots in NYC, I slightly preferred the QQ/bouncy texture of the noodles at a spot near me. However, the broth was better here with a balanced amount of mala, though I would likely order spicy next time, as I tend to add chili oil to the relatively lighter Lanzhou broths. The beef was also much better, being tender with a mild chew regardless of whether it was tendon or other cuts. The tea egg was flavorful and worth the add-on, especially when the inside was dipped further into the broth. I can see why others order this. The other person went with the Signature Stir-fried Noodles/招牌炒面/Chao Tatiaozi. There was an option of protein, and he went with Chicken for $17.95 and added the same egg. I tried a bit, and there was a pleasant pepperiness with a bit of numbing flavor, but less than my dish. The noodles had a good bounciness and overall had a slightly better chewiness than mine. This was lighter overall, but also tasty. This spot has apparently come to the US already at the Mall of America, and I would love it if there were a location closer to me. Good place.

I am not a big Chinese food fan because a…read moredinner of fried rice, Kung Pao chicken, and a fortune cookie ranks in my book on the low end of a fine dining experience. So I was delighted to find out what a talented chef can do with Chinese-influenced cuisine. But first, the location. This was our first time visiting Toronto so we were unfamiliar with the city's neighborhoods. When we stepped out of the Uber, I surveyed what appeared to be a grittier environment than the downtown area. I wasn't overly concerned. A cardboard sign taped to a window directed us down a hallway to the restaurant's entrance. It is a curious marketing approach and the sign could easily be missed by patrons, but it did add a little mystery to whatever awaited us behind the restaurant door. When we entered, we were immediately greeted by a pleasant hostess and an energetic vibe. The hostess confirmed our reservation (which had been guaranteed by a credit card) and offered to take our coats and umbrella. We were soon seated in pleasantly decorated, almost traditional-looking Chinese joint. Our server, Alex, cheerfully greeted us, asked us if this was our first time at Sunny's, and then gave a brief explanation of the culinary concept behind Sunny's approach to Chinese cuisine. In the interest of your time, I will quickly sum up our dining experience especially as you can easily find other online reviewers that make mention of their favorite dishes: Exceptionally friendly and efficient service (kudos to Alex!), quickly served, unique, and flavorful dishes, and wine and cocktail offerings (including non-alcoholic options) that pair well with the wide-ranging choice of entrees. A hghly recommended, surprisingly fun and delectable culinary experience.

Was in the Kensington area enjoying a summer weekend and remembered Sunny's was nearby. Came here…read moreto try the dessert since I've heard so many great things about it. Sunny's is located within a small hallway, look for a nostalgic hk style neon sign outside a non descript door. We were treated warmly and I advised the hostess I wanted to drop in quickly for their popular sesame dessert, and was promptly seated in their outdoor patio. They have a quaint and surprisingly quiet outside patio. We ordered the sesame French toast and it came out exactly how I imagined it. I request the oolong condensed milk on the side. It was a light and small treat for the afternoon. The sesame flavour wasn't overwhelming and the sweetness was just right.
