Can't go wrong with any of the dishes here! Heads up, almost everything we ate was spicy (Thai chili spice) Ranked from top to bottom of my fav items Khao Hor Bai Bua Hor Mok Papaya salad Khao Soi Came in on Friday night with no reservation and was seated right away at the bar for a party of 2. I recommend making reservation the day before, if possible! If you walk in, expect a 30-40 min wait read more

Cute interior, great service but the food was mediocre despite the positive reviews that drew me here. The chicken in my pad thai was very dry. The Hor Mok, which was one of their signature appetizers was presented in an interesting way but it was basically a curry fishball with a softer texture. I would skip those. We had another dish that was on a special menu, grilled chicken with papaya salad and black rice. That was good and the chicken was cooked well. read more

Nice dinner at Sukh! We had a reservation for outside, but got there early and the hostess was able to seat us inside, which worked out great. Our server was excellent--super friendly and attentive. The cocktails were delicious. We ordered the spring rolls, khao soi, and the banana leaf-wrapped branzino. The khao soi was definitely the standout. It was so rich and flavorful, but also really spicy, so pay attention to the chili pepper heat rating! The only disappointment was the branzino. We were expecting a delicate filet wrapped in a banana leaf, but it was actually more like a dense mound of flaked fish. It had a pretty fishy taste and just wasn't for us. We'd skip it next time. The restaurant has a really cozy, inviting vibe, but it's loud. It was hard to have a conversation without feeling like we were shouting. read more

If you're looking for Thai food in Downtown Brooklyn, stop scrolling and just go to Sukh. My fiancée, another couple, and I came here tonight and, let me tell you, our table looked like a Thai food sampler platter for four indecisive foodies. We kicked things off with the Curry Samosa, Gai Tod Nam Pla, and the Hor Mok (seriously, do yourself a favor and order it! The dish was a creative take on branzino its whipped and deconstructed for a silky, almost mousse like texture, then baked and crowned with a rich, flavorful lump of crab that took it over the top Then came the entrées... and maybe we got carried away. Six dishes hit the table: Kapraw Moo, Khao Kai Ra Bret, Pla Tod Samun Prai, Sukh Pad Thai, Panang Nuer, and Khao Pad Rod Fai. Don't judge us, menu FOMO is real. Now, everything was delicious, but two dishes deserve their own standing ovation: * Khao Pad Rod Fai - This fried rice ruined all other fried rice for me. Definitely the best fried rice I've had to date. * Pla Tod Samun Prai - Branzino so crispy on the outside and flaky inside, it's basically catfishing you into thinking you're eating two different dishes. Add in the Thai herbs and chili sauce, and it's next-level. Bottom line: Sukh is hands down the best Thai spot I've been to, and I've eaten my way through quite a few. Highly recommend, just bring friends so you can "accidentally" order the whole menu like we did. read more

Small and quaint thai restaurant with authentic flavors. We ordered the Panang Nuer, Khao Soi, Pad See-ew, and Thai iced tea. Each of these dishes were distinct with their own flavors. The Panang Nuer was a Braised Short Rib curry that was so tender, it was falling off the bone. The Pad See-ew seemingly looked like ordinary stir fried flat noodles but I couldn't stop after just taking one bite. The fried egg noodle paired so well with the hot curry. The Thai iced tea is the best that I've had so far; rich in tea flavor and creamy from the condensed milk. This meal is one I wont forget. read more

Wow! This place is honestly a must eat & visit! Foods were excellent and so flavorful! Service was top notch too. Excellent decor. We ordered 4 things: 1) Hor Mok appetizer was so amazing! Super flavorful. It was custardy, curry, savory, mildly spicy with lots of Thai spices! Highly recommend this! 2) Their summer special short rib was our #1 fav. I was told by the nice waitress that it was cooked for 7 hours. The meat was so tender it just comes off the bone. The short ribs were seasoned so deliciously that when eaten with the bowl of rice, it was heaven! I highly highly recommend this! I wish they would sell this on their menu all year round and not just as a summer special. Please order this item! 3) Khao Hor Bai Bua - this rice dish was delicious, unique and had an explosion of different tastes. It had so many things in it: chicken, sausage, egg yolk, ginkgo nut, shittake mushroom, taro, etc. The first few bites were great (savory and some sweetness) then afterwards, the rice became more on the sweeter side. It was very interesting. 4) Pang Ping Foi Thong - This dessert was so unique and super delicious. Loved the coconut ice cream, "golden threads" which the waitress said was made from eggs, and the soft bread stuffed with sticky rice. I would reorder this next time! read more

Sukh was an outstanding experience all around. We started off strong with Hor Mok, which was a new dish to the both of us, based on a Thai friend's recommendation. The custard is rich and creamy, and there's an immediate spice kick that quickly subsides. Based on the waitress recommendation we also shared the Ma Praw Kua Gluer (young coconut). The scallion here really complemented the coconut really well, and the fried garlic was such a nice salty addition. For our main entree we shared the Kea Mao with chicken. I wished we had been a bit more adventurous but next time! Drunken Noodles are always a banger so I really loved this dish. Lastly we caved and got a dessert, and got the taro custard and wow it was so silky, creamy, savory, and sweet. I loved this dessert. It also came with a scoop of coconut ice cream and it was the perfect way to end the meal. I'd definitely recommend Sukh to anyone for a lot of their Northern Thai dishes! read more

Look, the food is good and the ambiance is super chill and warm... that is up until it got closer to closing. Our original waitress left early, and her replacement essentially rushed us out of the restaurant, trying to remove plates before we were even finished eating without actually telling us that we needed to wrap it up. Meanwhile, there were at least 4 other tables and nobody was rushing them to finish. By all means, go here because the food is good, but unfortunately I left feeling very unwelcomed, rushed, and dare I say slightly targeted considering it felt like we were being treated differently than the other patrons. Food is fine, but I won't be back. read more

Food 4/5 Service 4/5 Ambiance 4.5/5 The Thai food here was just okay overall, but I loved that they offer unique dishes I'd never seen before, like the hor mok! Just a heads up: there's a $3 per person cake cutting fee if you bring your own cake Hor Mok - 3.5/5: First time trying it! Loved how unique it was, but the curry flavor was a bit overpowering for my taste Khao ton heang 4/5: Loved the veggies, but the pork belly was a bit over fried and not as tender as I would like Ka na moo grob 3/5: Not a fan of the fried pork belly here - too crispy and lacked flavor Pad kee mao 3.5/5: This was pretty mid; it was missing that signature charred flavor I love in this dish Crab fried rice 4.75/5: They're pretty generous with the crab! Super flavorful and definitely a standout Panang nuer 5/5: Absolutely amazing! The short rib fell right off the bone. Incredibly tender and rich in flavor Pad Thai 3.5/5: just okay Papaya salad 4/5: Solid balance of sweet and sour. Service was great from beginning to end and the ambiance incorporated many authentic Thai themed designs that gives you a glimpse of what Thailand looks like! We ordered the short rib, three types of crab infused fried rice, and the Japanese botan ebi appetizer, all of which were from their summer menu. The botan ebi was rich, spicy, and tangy with authentic Thai spices! It was refreshing and paired perfectly with the fried botan ebi heads to provide a flavor bomb with its sharp contrast in texture between the crisp of the botan ebi head and the softness of the raw botan ebi! Highly recommend! The three types of crab infused fried rice was also very flavorful with the tangy, sweet, and spicy sauce that paired beautifully with it. My only recommendation is to potentially add crab butter/innards to elevate the fried rice even more, which can enhance the umami by a hundredfold! Without the sauce, the fried rice was quite plain and underwhelming, but to each their own! The short rib was so incredibly rich and tender, where the meat just fell off the bone! Although it only came with two pieces, it was quite filling nonetheless. The only minor issue was that part of one of the pieces of short rib was burnt and was hard and bitter as a result, so I hope they can monitor it a bit more diligently to ensure they don't get burnt in the hours-long cooking process! Overall it was a good dining experience and would definitely come back to try their regular menu items! It's a bit pricey, but it's authentic and unique, so it may be worth it for the experience! Can't wait to come back to give Sukh the 5 stars that I know they're extremely capable of obtaining! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (: read more

I got the Larb nurh which is basically minced pork with blackberry rice and chicharron. It's actually pretty spicy and I really like spicy. Tbh, the blackberry rice I thought would taste like blackberry and it didn't so I was a bit disappointed with that. So the dish comes with all these greens and I realized that they are meant to come together to form a lettuce wrap. At first, I was just eating the rice with the minced pork and snacking on the chicharron. When you turn it into a lettuce wrap, it was way more elegant The dish is spicy, flavorful, aromatic, and spicy again I forgot the name of the appetizer but it's not bad. This is coming from someone who doesn't like fish I used to come here back when it was called National's and I miss their calamari. But I guess times change and so do places read more

In a seemingly endless list of viral Thai spots, Sukh lives up to every bit of the hype they receive! Expect a fantastic dinner with flavorful balanced dishes and fun drinks in a very well decorated restaurant. 5/5 Hor Mok -- a very unique dish that is a MUST order imo! The custard is rich but somehow also light with the bouncy custard texture that is perfectly cooked. The branzino is the cherry on top! 5/5 Summer Special Panang Nuer Short Rib Curry-- insanely tender, rich, flavorful, loved the crunch from the peanuts. The curry sauce is also very well seasoned and balanced. 5/5 Khao Tom Haeng - we loved the variety of pork belly, sausage, and tofu with the garlic scallion ginger rice! 4/5 Somtum Thai Kai Kem -- solid, nothing too particularly special, but refreshing and tangy! read more

Sukh was an amazing experience. The decor, staff, and food were all ourstanding. I loved the theme of dishes from different regions around Thailand. All of it tasted so flavorful, I really can't pick a favorite dish! If I had to pick one that stood out, it was the Hor Mok because I've never had anything like it before. It was a savory fish curry custard topped with crab meat. It's consistency was solid but perfectly melted when I took a bite. Cocktails were also amazing. My friend and I made reservations a couple days before going with no issue. I saw some walkins but the place filled up quickly, definitely make a reservation if you can! read more

Food - This Thai restaurant in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, serves delicious food, like the hor mok which is a steamed branzino curry custard that you have to get. The summer specials that stood out to me were the Pha Pu Nim (soft shell crab) and the Chu-Chee Goong (tiger prawns in red curry). Service - The staff were kind and helpful with answering my questions and explaining the menu items. Vibes - I love the warm and cozy atmosphere with their train-themed interior design. There is quite a bit of indoor space, perfect for small groups at booths or 1-2 people at smaller tables or at the bar. There is also outdoor seating. I've been meaning to try Sukh for a while and it was well worth the wait. Hailed by my entire group as their best Thai restaurant, Sukh feels quite authentic in terms of flavor and spice levels. We tried multiple dishes and each one was extremely flavorful and unique. The service was good and the ambiance of the restaurant feels quite nice, a little noisy but that's okay and it's designed to look like the inside of an old locomotive train. We got the whole fish dish, the crab curry and the minced pork dish. We also had the hibiscus juice which was really good. Overall quite an amazing experience. The pork was my favorite. Whattt! Shocked by the rave reviews at this place. The chive pancake appetizer was deliciously crunchy and good, but the expensive branzino and crab fried rice? So salty and kind of a mess to eat. The branzino has these basil leaves all over the place that don't even help the meal and both dishes you're bored with after a couple bites. It's also far too expensive for what you get, especially when there's such better spots nearby (lookin at you, Forma Pasta!). Let me save you the time and money and go there. read more

Train-themed Thai spot in Brooklyn with a mix of classic noodz and harder to find dishes. Solid meal, but nothing that blew me away. The most special dish was the hor mok, a branzino curry custard with a pudding-like texture and a slight grain. Rich, fragrant, and just a tad spicy, definitely not something you see everywhere The khao tom haeng, a rice dish with crispy pork, minced pork, and Chinese sausage, had a lot going on but didn't quite come together. Tasted fine, but for the price, it felt underwhelming. That said, the side soup was rly good. The ped toon (braised duck) didn't leave much of an impression, but the pad see ew was a killer if you're after something familiar. hor mok $22 khao tom haeng $28 shrimp pad see ew $20* ped toon $30 thai iced tea $8 기차모양의 부스가 이색적인 타이식당! Thai restaurants are a dime a dozen these days, each hawking a supposed "specialty" dish that is unique and a "must get". Off the bat I was a bit put off by the fact that the server continued to try to suggest dishes after we finished ordering, unprompted. Maybe she felt like we didn't order enough, meanwhile we had ordered 5 entrees for 5 people. It felt awkward that she would suggest the Branzino after we said no, nothing else, and then suggested appetizers and we had to say no again. The food arrived quite quickly - my favorite was the crab fried rice ($30) which (knock on wood) is difficult to mess up! They definitely display the crab pieces on top, with very few pieces within the rice. The pad see ew with shrimp ($22) was a bit small but tasty, again, difficult to mess up. My brother liked the Sukh Pad Thai which was again good but the portion is a crime for the price ($27). I make a point to try the khao soi ($26) at Thai restaurants and while this one was good, there wasn't much to it. It was a tad spicy and the curry was goodbut there was barely any noodles. The ped toon is a braised duck dish that was way way too fatty. ($30) They blanched the greens but overall the duck just was too fatty. Overall it's a decent place that is overhyped on social media. It's good but expensive for the portion. The decor is cute - with a train theme but again nothing super special, a bit cramped honestly. There's a 5% cash discount but it was a bit awkward because they didn't bring back any change when my dad gave them the cash. They also do auto gratuity of 20% on large parties, which restaurants don't really disclose, maybe they thought we were tipping extra. Service was pretty mediocre generally speaking - they seemed hesitant to bring containers for leftovers. Probably won't be back. read more

We visited here on a Friday night and had a reservation for 8.30. When we arrived our table wasn't ready and we were told that we had to wait outside, and where then left waiting for 20 minutes (and it was pretty cold). Although it's a good sign that the restaurant food must be good to be that busy it did put a bit of a dampener on the start of our experience at Sukh. Once we finally got seated though the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely, and the food we saw coming out looked and smelt amazing. We ordered the Hor Mok, curry samosas and fried crab rolls (Hoi Jor Poo) to start. All the dishes were delicious but the Hor Mok was the standout dish, really different and tasty (a must order). For mains we ordered Kang Keaw Wan, Khao Pad Rod Fai and the Ped Toon. We had also ordered another dish but this didn't arrive (we didn't realise initially so didn't mention it). All of the dishes were great but the Ped Toon (a duck dish) was the standout for us, would definitely have this again if we revisited the restaurant. Between 4, with us all having a couple of alcoholic drinks, the bill came to c$360 (including tax and tip). Not cheap but we felt for the quality of food it was fairly priced. A couple of niggles around service but we would return, although maybe at a time where they are not so busy. read more

I've driven by this place many times and I thought it looked so nice and was curious how the food would be. A few friends recommended I try it and raved about how good the food was so I finally gave it a try, and it did not disappoint. I'll start with the customer service - all of the staff members were so friendly from the moment you stepped in the front of the door. We didn't have a reservation, but they were able to quickly accommodate us with outside seating and as soon as they had something inside, they offered to move us. The waitress was so friendly and she was well versed on all of the gluten-free options and even talked us through some of her favorites. I went with the Pad Thai and it was so delicious. I opted for the shrimp instead of the chicken and it came with so much shrimp. My friends got a few other dishes and all of us had huge portions and we're 100% satisfied. We also ordered a bottle of the orange wine and it was very smooth and at an affordable price. It was a relaxed environment and they have enough seating so that you don't feel like you're on top of people. The restaurant is also beautifully decorated and has a great playlist running in the background. I noticed that they do delivery, so I'm definitely looking forward to taking advantage of that and coming back to try the Branzino. read more

Amazing gem! I came around 630pm on a Tuesday without a reservation thinking it wouldn't be needed because there were reservation time slots online. However, this place filled up so fast after we got lucky and seated at the counter without a reservation. People were waiting outside for a table. The decor and ambiance of the place was lovely. It felt very homey and themed like you were in a train car. I loved how the menu had dishes id never tried before. We got the Hor Mok, Gor Gluay, Pla Tod Samun Prai and a coconut milk taro ball dessert. The Hor Mok (4/5) was pretty good but not super mind blowing. It was a nice option if you want to try a curry as an appetizer. I really liked the Gor Gluay (5/5) and the texture of the pancakes and the wontons. Never had this before so it was a nice experience! The Pla Tod Samun Plai (5/5) was pretty big and glad we split it between ourselves. The sauce was great and the fish was perfectly cooked. Rice wasn't included so we had to add an order on the side. The taro dessert was 5/5. I love taro and coconut so it was perfect. Overall I'd come back in a heart beat! This place is so unique and cosy and underrated. read more

Sukh was such a vibe - the moment we walked in, we were teleported into a different time. The decor is SO cute and pretty. This is by far one of the most unique restaurants I have been to! Highly recommend making reservations before you come here - we got here at 12 pm - right when they opened and they already had 2 or 3 parties ahead of us. By the time we got seated and ordered our food, the place had started filing up and by the time we got our food - the place was packed to the brim! The Hor Mok was such a unique dish - I've never seen this dish anywhere! It was a little bit on the spicier side, so if you cannot handle spice, beware - otherwise it was yummy! The Gor Gluay was also very good - this was one of the non-spicy dishes that we ordered and it was very much needed! My personal favorite was the Khao Hor Bai Bua, their signature fried rice - this dish was SO flavorful and delicious. You MUST try this!! We also got the Koong Chae, a spicy but also refreshing dish. If you're there for their summer special, you MUST try the Gaeng Hung Lay Nuar - the meat on these ribs just fell right off the bone - it was so packed full of flavor and juicy! For dessert we had the I-Tim Kati Boran which was sooooo delicious - it was literally an Ice Cream Sandwich! Think ice cream stuck next to two pieces of buns! read more

Love the addition of Sukh to the neighborhood! The interior has a unique charm, reminiscent of an old train car, offering an intimate and cozy atmosphere that is perfect for smaller groups. I've visited both on a weekday and a weekend, and it was pretty crowded both times so I highly recommend making a reservation. My favorites include: Somtum Thai Kai Kem (Papaya Salad) - Perfect spice level for me. So flavorful! Kang Pu (Crab Curry) - Comforting and savory. Portion size was on the smaller side but they did not skimp out on the crab meat. Ped Toon (Braised Duck Breast) - Fall off the bone tender! The combination of flavors was phenomenal and very appetizing. Poo Nim Pad Pong Ka-Ree (Soft Shell Crab) - Unfortunately this is a summer item that I wish they offered year-round. The crab absorbs a generous amount of sauce, enhancing the flavor with every bite. Ticket to Sukh (Cocktail) - Refreshing and easy to drink, though I wish it was served in a martini glass or coupe. The egg whites should be savored with each sip, but the tall glass made it challenging to do so. The Khao Tom Haeng and Larb Nurh were okay but not as impressive as the other dishes. I was here recently with my friends for a bday celebration. We had reservations for early dinner and the place was empty when we arrived but it sure filled up fast. Our waitstaff gave us a review on the menu and also guided us on what to order. Most of the items we got were Spicy except the Branzino. But it was all delicious. The short ribs could have been a bit softer but it was bathed in a delicious curry sauce. Honestly everything had a different flavor profile. I enjoyed the Hor Mok, spicy but it reminded me of a dish we also made back home. The Khao Khai Ra-bert I believe was the spiciest dish we got and it was my favorite. The omelette is super fried in a way it's not really egg like anymore. Lots of pepper. We tried 2 dessert dishes, 1 was similar to. Filipino cassava cake and it was served with ice cream. Another dish was similar but it was warm and soup like. I didn't really like the soup like one but my friends enjoyed it. The table had a mix of mocktails and cocktails. The serving portions are not to extreme and not tiny. Service was rather fast as well. I would recommend rsvp esp for busy nights. read more
