TL;DR: I had a great experience at this restaurant and will definitely be coming back! Food: I ordered the Pineapple fried rice and Pad see ew. The pad see ew noodles have really great flavor and texture. The portion size is fair for the price as well: I recommend adding the chicken on for $1 extra. The pineapple fried rice was tasty although I wish there was a bit more pineapple flavor to it. Similarly good portion size, no complaints in this department. Service: Service was great, our waitress Modd was very friendly and also helped with refilling water. Ambiance: Very lovely atmosphere. The restaurant lies at the corner of a very lively and safe street. The exterior is adorned with flowers. Inside is equally pretty, with dim lighting and no shortage of greenery. Additionally, the restroom is INCREDIBLE. You feel like you've got your own throne in a mini jungle. I'm joking but only partially - this is a good pit stop. Very positive experience :)
I was walking around and just wanted to sit down for a quick lunch. Their front door have a steep downstairs into a small hole in a wall place. They had a great selection of lunch specials with small appetizers and entree. I opted for my Thai go to, green curry and it was amazing. I prefer increased spicy, but I can understand this is good for most people. The lady that took our order was super nice and very willing to explain to us what is in each dish.
The Khao Soi with chicken was delicious! The chicken was tender, and the crispy egg noodles added a great texture. The restaurant is clean, relaxing, and nicely decorated, and the staff were polite and attentive. Even the bathroom was spotless. Definitely not your typical Thai restaurant. Highly recommended!
I went here for lunch yesterday and their lunch sets are great! I have no notes for the chicken drunken noodles -- it was amazing! for the Thai tea, i personally prefer a strong tea taste but they probably adjusted the recipe to accommodate the American palate. service was amazing and it was not too packed during the lunch hours!
Great Thai food. We ordered the shrimp donut and it was pretty delicious--never had anything like it before. It tasted like a chewy croquette Beef udon was delicious. Fried branzino was interesting. Kra pow was really good.
I took my mother here for Mother's Day and I am extremely impressed with the decor! Flowers everywhere and beautiful plating and seating. An absolute gem for girls brunch or to bring your mother! We came last minute on Mother's Day and they were able to accommodate us within 10 minutes since they opened. Even though they needed the table back a certain time they didn't rush us at all! We ordered a few things: mango avocado salad and chive pancake to start, sea bass with sweet and sour sauce (this comes with purple yam rice and regular rice!), garlic udon with hanger steak, and the crab fried rice. I definitely enjoyed the appetizers more than the mains as the chive pancake was so yummy and the sauce that comes with it complements it very well, the mango avocado salad is phenomenal and includes fish sauce in the dressing making it super savory and tangy. I thought the garlic udon was too sweet for my liking but if you're into it definitely get this one. I just wish the steak was thicker and less cooked as it was super well done. The seared sea bass was yummy and I enjoyed the sauce but I didn't really need it as the more you add the sweeter and sour it gets and I'm just pretty simple and don't need much sauce. The crab fried rice was definitely the main hit as I couldn't stop eating it but it made me so full I was about to food coma right then and there. The crab is just so fresh and the flavors are just right with some of the spicy sauce! Mango sticky rice was one of the best we've had and this is hands down one of my fave brunch this year!
This place came highly recommended so we gave it a try before we headed off to the fireworks viewing nearby and if the line by the time we left was any indication, you'd think they were running out of Thai food lol. We ordered a myriad of apps and entrees including Curry puffs, Shrimp Donuts,and Thai Dumplings, Panang Curry with Chicken, Khao Soi Chicken, Crab Fried Rice, Red Curry with Duck, Pad Thai and Tom Kha. The apps were all standardly good, my personal favorite was probably the shrimp donuts because of their slight bouncy texture and crunch but you really can't go wrong with any of them. Panang Curry with Chicken- thick and sweet with some spice behind the first bite. The curry is good but the chicken's just kind of an afterthought. Wish they did more than just boil it and then add it in. Khao Soi Chicken- the noodles just soak up all that curry goodness and the chicken here is much more tender and juicy. Very good dish. Crab Fried Rice- a solid fried rice with a good amount of crab on top. I think a lot of places could lean in on the grimy earthiness of the crab if they choose to but a preparation in this way is still good. Red Curry with Duck- a little sweeter curry with a hint of cinnamon. I think the duck breast was a little dry though. Pad Thai- no notes, just a good Pad Thai! Tom Kha- actually never had this before but I love the spice level with the herbal undertones, like drinking a rich, spiced, chicken soup. All in all I was pretty pleasantly happy with all the food. There are a couple things I think that come down to personal taste preference though, which for me was the cook of the vegetables. Personally ,I love stewed vegetables that are soft and have absorbed ALL the flavors of whatever it's been steeping in, whether it's soup, stews, or curry. Here, a lot of it is moreso parboiled/steamed separately so a lot of vegetables keep their crunch. I'm guessing it's to add texture to the dish but I think it's kind of just bland really. You have all this liquid gold (curry) and these vegetables that barely cling to it and just taste frankly speaking, like boiled vegetables. I would have loved to sink my flavor into a stewed carrot that was earthy, sweet, and absorbed all the flavors of the curry it was sitting in but alas, it wasn't so. And that same thing applied to the eggplant, zucchini, and peppers. Again, I think that just comes down to preference, but I think it's kind of a missed opportunity for the dish to be a lot more flavorful. Speaking to the ambiance and service, the space was nice albeit a little tight, and our server did kind of rush us a bit too much because they knew they had a line. As in, they mentioned they were busy and had a line TEN minutes after we sat down so we should definitely hurry up lol. Overall though, I did enjoy the experience, and I would be back for either the lunch or dinner special. Maybe I'd come during a less busy time or at the start of service for a more pleasant and relaxed experience but I reckon I will be back haha.
We came here yesterday after not being served at Xisan de Classic and I'm so glad we did. We arrived around 8:30 on a Saturday without a reservation. They were very nice and put us on the waitlist with a 30 minute wait. We headed over to Van Leeuwen for a pre-dinner treat and to wait somewhere dry. Exactly at the 30 minute mark I got the text to head over and we did. We sat down and it took a few minutes for someone to take our order but once they did everything moved very quickly. I ordered the lychee sangria and my husband ordered the thai lime tea and the purple lemonade. All of the drinks were excellent and they were kind enough to give me extra flamingo straws to bring to my kids when I said they'd enjoy them. As for food we started with the chive pancakes and the moo ping. Both were amazing, but I especially loved the chive pancakes. The sticky rice that came with the moo ping was very good. For Entrees my husband ordered the duck red curry and I ordered the garlic beef udon noodles. My husband curry was delicious! And I loved my noodles until I tasted cilantro and I couldn't enjoy it any longer but that was my fault for not asking about it in the first place. I highly recommend coming here. The food, ambiance, and service were all top notch. I just found it a little expensive considering other options in the area.
Ambiance was so cute. Good place to go in downtown Brooklyn . Thai ice tea was a must , I went during happy hour and was able to get a lychee martini .
Had early dinner with friends. We got there right at 5 when they opened. I knew I was in for a treat, there were people already waiting for them to open. We were in time for their happy hour. We ordered from the happy hour menu ans the regular. Our waitress Nikki was super nice. Very engaged and attentive. Every thing we ordered was good. Full flavors and I love spicy so it hit perfect for me. Beautiful decor a true hidden gem.
I got the drunken noodle which was pretty good! I asked for mild and it was not that mild! Heads up for those who like spicy :) My friend got tom yum and enjoyed it with her thai iced tea. The garnish was so cute and matched her purple shirt. We enjoyed the ambiance and their selection of acoustic music. When we arrived we were seated inmediately though the service throughout the lunch also felt rushed. Everything was quality, just the busy-ness for a Sunday felt the need to eat and run. Good for girl day and would come back from drinks as well.
I had lunch alone today 8/2 after service. The decor outside ia very inviting and pretty, it continues inside as well. It's a calm and pleasant environment. The service ia great! I had a glass passion fruit juice, spring rolls and spicy basil rice with shrimp. The food was good.and tasted fresh. The place is not too big but does have a separate space to fit more guests. I recommend if you're visiting the area to stop by alone or accompanied. The waitress are very attentive. I liked that they do not hover over guests.
Khaosan quickly became one of my favorite Thai spots in this part of Brooklyn! The staff are so friendly and attentive even though we were seated in a little nook of the restaurant (which I actually really enjoyed with the privacy)! We came on a Tuesday night and they were busy but we were quickly seated! We ordered the khao soi and roasted duck green curry. We also tried the calamari, chive pancakes, thai iced tea, and lime thai tea which were all extremely delicious!! I cant wait to go back.

We were walking around the neighborhood hungry when we stumbled upon this beautiful little corner restaurant and we're so glad we did! From the second we walked in, we were greeted and seated in less than a minute, which was such a surprise on a Saturday evening. Our waitress, Rose, was SUPER attentive throughout our entire dinner and gave us some amazing food and drink recommendations. The food somehow got better and better with every dish that came to the table! We ordered two starters and two entrées, and everything was delicious. The prices were also very reasonable, especially for the quality of the food, service, and overall experience. Such a great unexpected find! We will definitely be back the next time we're in Brooklyn Heights. HIGHLY recommend! read more
Perfect stop for a Brooklyn date night! Super cute and the food was good. Whether it was a girls date or with someone you like . I recommend. The area was fine for parking on a Friday night! We also were able to walk to get ice cream after and walk the promenade. I had the Pad See Ew and it was good. The wings were great too! Nice and crispy! I was in New York for an event and my friend that lives there said let's try this place that I saw on Tik Tok. I said say less. We called to see if they had availability and the lady told us we had to make a reservation. We did. When it was close to the time we made our way that way. When we arrived it wasn't crowded and we were sat immediately even though it was before our reservation time. The inside was beautiful and they even had a wall you could take pictures in front of. We ordered a few starters for the table but I did try the Shrimp donuts as an starter and I had the Garlic Udon Hanger Beef with No Bok Choy. I didn't know what to think about the shrimp donuts but I was very interested to see how they tasted. I can say they were so good and I could have gone with more of those. The Garlic Udon Hanger Beef was good far as taste but when I removed the Bok Choy they subbed it for more Onions to a point that I had a small onion in my plate. This is a modern Thai fusion restaurant. The decor is IG worthy. We ordered Tom Yum soup, massaman curry with chicken, spring rolls, chicken wings, pho with steak, and pad kra pao, and ended the meal with mango sticky rice and mango sticky rice with ice cream for dessert. The taste was great and plating was beautiful for all the dishes that we ordered. The staff were friendly. Overall, it's a great dinning experience. I'd go back again. read more

I frequent this Thai restaurant on occasion and order via online for pick up. All of the items ordered have always been delicious and with abundance of food. The staff is very attentive and accommodating, providing small table and water or beverage while waiting for the food. I usually visit their bathroom and on my last visit noticed they added an extra restroom to accommodate for the customers visiting during peak hours. The restaurant is very inviting and colorful, definitely Instagram and provides a bit of spark and brightness to the space. This is by far one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the area. read more

Liked all the food here! Our group tried a bunch of appetizers and for the main, I got drunken noodles- Pad kee Mao. There were six of us there and the restaurant was able to seat all of us. What a great little lively place! Stopped by on a Thursday night and got seated immediately at 6, but it definitely filled up as it got later. Great happy hour drinks until 7 - got a $12 lychee martini. The curry dumplings were yummy, as was the chicken pad see ew. The chicken khao soi was just fine - the broth was a little goopy and not very creamy but it was yummy flavoring overall! Great, fast service and lots of attention. Would return. read more
Delicious takeout experience! I got the ocean's harvest pad thai and we shared the fresh rolls, both were fantastic! One of my favorite pad thais in the city, I loved the thin rice noodles instead of flat, and the addition of crab claws and shrimp really made it. The mussels and calamari were a tad rubbery, but didn't take away from the dish too much, I could have licked the plate clean! The rolls were yummy too, with a nice peanut sauce. Order: - Garlic Udon Hanger Beef (5/5) - Shrimp Drunken Noodle (5/5) - Spring Rolls (5/5) - Chicken Dumplings (5/5) - Mango Slush (5/5) Pros: - Amazing tasting food - Large menu that has plenty of photos so you can see what the food looks like - Options with lunch specials and happy hour - Good portion sizes - Decently priced especially for portion size - Very quick and kind service - Beautifully decorated restaurant Cons: - Small restaurant so seating is tight. We went on a weekday so we luckily had space around us but I can see this spot getting very busy on the weekends and for dinner Overall: I think I found my new favorite Thai spot! read more

I had dinner on a Sunday night with a friend. The food here I would say is modern/fusion Thai cuisine and they randomly have pho? It's a bit confusing. We ordered the tom yum seafood hot pot, the crab curry pasta, and the mango ice cream dessert. The tom yum seafood hot pot had a lot of seafood and it had a good kick. The crab curry pasta was flavorful but the crab was a bit overcooked. The mango ice cream dessert was not too sweet and the blue coconut sticky rice was still warm. It's a bit pricey but the portions were large. The staff were friendly and fast. I would come back if I'm in the area. read more
The shrimp donuts got me thinking about Chuck Klosterman's belief that The Darkness were underrated because Americans didn't know what to do with a band that was both ironic and sincere. Were the donuts designed with hopes of TikTok fame? The sprinkles suggest this possibility, but this item made with shrimp and chicken fits squarely within a classic fried appetizer paradigm, albeit with more sweetness. It outranks many entrants in the "things that don't belong together" genre by its relative resemblance to a real donut rather than just using the shape. On a more traditional note, I liked the papaya salad, which was 5.3 on the Queens spice sale, which converts to 6.8 on the Brooklyn Heights scale. The liquid was assertive and I appreciated the tomatoes more than usual, red and yellow. The service was delightful. read more
Not a bad Thai restaurant by no means, but I felt that it was not as good compared to the many other Thai restaurants in the city. Khaosan feels more akin to the Thai restaurants that exist in college towns. The prices were cheaper though and each dish was relatively large, so it is a good option for budget Thai food in the area. read more

Came here last night for dinner after a show. It was pretty busy, but we were seated after 10 mins. The restaurant has a nice cozy atmosphere. Our waiter was great in checking in and making sure we had what we needed. I got the drunken noodles with beef. The noodles were delicious but the beef was very chewy. The chicken curry puffs were delicious and I'm not a big fan of curry. But I loved them. The wings were great! I wish I would've tried the siracha wings. I got the Thai iced tea and it was delicious. If I'm ever in the area, I'll come back! read more

price - $70 including tax and tip food - 5/5 service - 5/5 ambiance - 5/5 i ordered 2 lunch menu sets (panang curry + chicken dumplings and pad see ew + chicken dumplings) with 2 ice tea. the food was AMAZING!!! its so full of flavor and it did NOT disappoint. i love how the panang curry doesnt lack flavor despite looking watery. and the drunken noodles were just pure heaven! the thai ice tea was really flavorful, it made me want to order more! the waitresses were extremely attentive and understanding as well! the ambiance was immaculate and overall it was such a wonderful experience. i HIGHLY recommend checking this place out!!! read more
I was able to enjoy a tasting menu at Khaosan, and had such a lovely experience! The decor and even the exterior of the restaurant is covered in florals and hunter green - super welcoming and aesthetic at the same time. The drink menu is extensive, and includes soft drinks, specialty drinks as well as cocktails and mock tails ranging from $10-18. I got the classic Thai iced tea - very tea forward and still quite sweet despite requesting less sweet FYI! My friend enjoyed the honey yuzu lemonade a lot. My favorites were the spaghetti soft shell crab. The pasta was al dente and well spiced. I'd definitely get this again and beware of the pepper pieces within the pasta! They can be quite spicy. The soft shell crab was crispy and I really enjoyed this! The grilled black pepper pork with truffle oil was so good - the pork was super tender and having the rice with the sauce was super yummmy. This restaurant is really cute down a few stairs in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in brooklyn. The flowers on the wall make you happy and the service is really good. Everyone here was very friendly. I ordered Thai tea which was really good, and also came with a beautiful flower inside the glass. The pad see ew was perfectly cooked and with the tofu was so good. The noodles tasted homemade. This was a really flavorful dish and one of the best I've had in a while. I'm glad I stumbled upon this restaurant and I'll be back soon! read more

Came here on New Year's Eve with my wife. This place is AWESOME!! The service is fantastic and friendly. They perfectly timed every course, and we never felt rushed or overwhelmed with plates on the table. The decor and vibe is super cozy, chill, and very fresh. Loved the wallpaper in the bathrooms, and all the plants. The food, omg the food, sooooo good! My wife had Pho, and I had garlic udon noodles with steak. We started with the shrimp donuts (don't sleep on these, out of this world flavor profile!), and some dumplings. Had their hot sake which is the best we've ever had. Strong, flavorful, and delicious! Fam, this is a no for me. Reviews said this place is vegan-friendly and the online menu seemed to support that, but in-person, the staff gave inconsistent answers. One staff said that a lot of vegan diners order the pad thai but another one said that it's the only noodle dish that they can't make vegan. We were confused and felt very pressured to place an order while we made sense of the menu. After all the effort, our noodle dish still arrived with egg. Overall, just a very strange and unsettling dining experience. The half-cooked veggies just took it over the edge. Would not recommend. read more

What an amazing find, we were in the neighborhood and decided to grab lunch at this Thai spot. Great staff, food and ambiance, we tried a few things off the menu and loved them all. Solid spot for Thai food, would come back here. read more
