This place is just down the street from me and frankly it's dangerous. Knowing that I can get Thai teas at my leisure is dangerous. I love their cheese rolls the most. Their other pastries are good, but you can't talk down a baddie. It is the instant crowd pleaser at any get together i go around with. Drinks themselves, like the Thai tea, are very sweet. So, for you sugar sensitive lovies, be mindful. Granted you are going to a bakery for sweets anyway, but drinks are the easiest way to drink tons of sugar. The decor is interesting. You have this red and white contrast of color, but then these really sleek wooden chairs. If they ever to another location, it would be interesting to see how they would do a laid back cafe. Overall. Usually the doughnuts and cake is always very fresh. I went in today for a half dozen fresh doughnuts because the house was craving sugar twist. These doughnuts were stale and day old. At the tune of $15 for 6 doughnuts I think they could at least been honest with what you buy. To add insult to injury they had a box of day old on the counter for $12 and they looked the same as what o had in the box. I feel it is time to update my review here. Sugar Twist has become one of my favorite breakfast spots since having my baby last year! I had no idea this was even offered here until I was postpartum and too exhausted and busy with my new mom life to make myself meals. So for awhile, once a week my husband or I would come here on rotation for breakfast. It is such a treat! They actually have great coffee and tea options, which was essential for me when I was running on those few hours of sleep a day. The breakfast burritos are great. Perfect size and comfort food. They also have a bagel with jalapeño and egg and cheese and that is soooo good. You can also get regular breakfast bagels, a donut sandwich I've never tried, and a few other goodies from the grill. The pastries are still amazing here. Donuts I've tried probably 80% of the flavors now and my favorite is probably blueberry. The puff pastries with cream cheese never miss. I especially like the ones they add fruit to. I've ordered a few things like cupcakes and little brownie bars for groups that have been great. The workers here are always kind and patient and quick. A colleague recently brought in some pastries from this place, and they were fantastic. I decided to check it out for myself. When I arrived, there were two people ahead of me in line and only one staff member at the counter. I didn't mind the short wait, especially with the massive glass display full of colorful pastries to admire. A few minutes later, another staff member came out to assist and things moved quickly from there. I picked up an assortment of treats including cream cheese puffs, brownie squares, a couple of donuts, and some donut holes. Unfortunately, a few items I had my eye on were already sold out. What a horrible experience I had here this morning. I was driving and I called to find out where they were located. This business has two locations & the one I wanted to go was on the Southside of Rosedale. I had 1 number in my phone and I wanted to go to the right one. When I called & asked the question you'd thought I asked her to perform brain surgery. She shouted out the question & no one knew. She said I would have to look it up. I was a little incredulous. I said so there is no one there that can tell me if you are on the southside of Rosedale. She seemed very flustered by this question. I asked her if her store was near a Walmart and she said, "that there was a Walmart by a SugarTwist." I asked, "But your not that one?" She hung up on me. And it turns out I had gotten there while they were having a complete customer rush, and I have to give a huge shoutout to Alyssa for making my experience fantastic. Despite me being completely out of range when it came to picking out the donuts I had wanted. Alyssa had an absolute professional and cheerful attitude! Especially after very rude customers thinking they can get their way by being rude to innocent people! I've bought donuts and cupcakes here and I've always been happy with the quality. I went in this morning and decided to order something I haven't tried yet, so I bought the strawberries and cream pastry with Nutella drizzled on top. Oh my goodness, it was absolutely amazing! Definitely a share size. It's a puff pastry with whipped cream and strawberries inside, then folded over. I will say that the only downside is that this isn't something you can eat while driving. You're going to need a fork and knife because the puff pastry is very flakey. This will be my standard order when I do get a chance to stop by! read more

I LOVE when they have fruit topped pastries! My only "meh" about this location is the staff. We've never had excellent customer service. It's loud because of all the equipment and the music, and the girls behind the counter speak SO QUIETLY. But the service was subpar. Like it cost the two ladies money to speak. I asked a question about their Oreo cup and both staff members looked at each other confused before saying it was whipped Oreo. Not entirely helpful, so I chose something else instead. We went for family dessert, so we each called out what we wanted one by one and the lady attending us was quiet the whole time occasionally walking away without a word. I almost felt bad we kept ordering things. She even tried calculating our total a few times before we were finished and we had to apologize and say we weren't done ordering ( it was just my husband and I with our 3 children...). Anyway, service was a little uncomfortable. Their pastries are good, but none of us were a fan of the "whipped" stuff. That's just our preference really, we aren't much into fluffy, air-y frosting. One says they we can place an order for a future birth day date and the other says they can't, but after looking at us and sizing us down before rolling her eyes. Took my husband here for the first time today. We were greeted nicely when we walked in, and were told what the popular breakfast sandwiches are. Tasty tasty tasty! Had a board game night with the family recently and we hit up Sugar Twist for our dessert spread during game night. I have to say the bear claw was one of the best I have ever had. It was overstuffed with apples and the flavor was incredible, I devoured that whole thing and sat there wishing I had another. The maple-bacon donuts were great, I love the sweet and salty mix and the cupcakes were very tasty as well, I'm a sucker for red velvet and really enjoyed that.
