Really delicious pastries for a Saturday morning treat. Walked in about 9 am and saw they had good interior seating and also serve other breakfast foods like burritos. I was greeted by friendly staff who were ready to take my order. I ordered a cheese danish, strawberry puff pastry, and a white frosted donut. It was about $12 for all three. The strawberry pastry was really good with fresh cream, and chocolate and the cheese danish was yummy but I could taste an abundance of sugar, a little more than I like for my danish. Very disappointed in service today at the Calloway location this morning. My wife and I come weekly and never ever have we waited so long to get our order which today was just 1 breakfast bacon burrito. When we finally got it, it looked like a mini burrito, we called it a burrito slider, it was so small. My iPhone is actually bigger than the burrito. Maybe just short staffed, off day or a fluke. We'll be back next week like always and will hopefully have a better experience. FYI- we were not the only disappointed customers, many obvious unhappy faces. We've loved coming here for many years because of the amazing food but the quality of service has been on the decline unfortunately. Today we went to get donuts for a family gathering and the employees were quick to pile all of the donuts on top of each other knowing they were freshly made and extremely wet. This sadly caused all of them to stick together and pull frosting off the others. For how expensive these donuts are, you want them to look as good as they do in the store. We stopped in to pick up a few pastries for a weekend treat. Purchased donuts, cannelloni, and fruit tarts. The cannelloni tasted strongly of Crisco. The filling was fine but the pastry was hard and tasted of chemicals. The donuts were ok. The fruit tart was shockingly disappointing. It was just a dense pie crust filled with whipped cream with fruit placed on top. No custard. The presentation of the shop and product is great, there just needs to be a little more care in making said product more than just edible. read more

To be extra, she chose the one drizzled with chocolate sauce. Based on the fact that she didn't have a bite left, I would say it was very good. Came here the other night for a Yelp event. It was so fun and we got to try some great pastries. So today I went back to take my hubby. We got the Cream Cheese puffs (my FAV!)and a chocolate croissant with two cups of coffee. We also shared the Ham-tastic. Ham-Tastic Grilled croissant with ham, bacon, and American Swiss cheese.- this was so delicious!!! Hot, ooey gooey melty cheese. I think I'm going to make this my weekend breakfast EVERY weekend. They were out of the jalapeño poppers. So we drove to their other location on Brimhall and got some and took those to go! Yah!! The place is always busy but they have great service. I really enjoy this place for the cute decor to the delicious pastries and donuts. The staff is friendly and fast. My only complaints are that the prices are a little high for what you get and sometimes the ratio is off with the whip cream to cake. Often there is so much whip cream it overpowers the cake which is absolutely yummy and I wish I could taste more of the cupcake. The donuts on the other hand are always fresh, soft and perfectly balanced. read more

Was there today for a pastry, Monday 11/17/25. I saw a cockroach walking around, it's the small invasive ones so I know there's more of them there. . . I tried to ignore that, benefit of the doubt. Then as I'm picking a pastry I see a fly in there! You can tell it had been in there possibly overnight since I went early in the morning. Top it off I'm assuming is the owner, or a friend, walks in dragging his feet in with toe sandals . . . . and raggedy shorts, no professionalism. It gets worst, there was a girl I'm assuming on break who had been on her phone while my food was being prepared who walks back there without even washing her hands starts attending to customers. Genuinely disgusted by the entire experience. I did inform the young girl of the cockroach and fly she was kind about it and apologized. It was just awful all together. read more

This was our first time at Sugar Twist. We didn't think they would have anything this late in the day but they did. The pastries looked beautiful and they still had a great collection. We got chocolate donuts and apple fritters and jelly donuts. The Apple fritters are huge and everything else looked so delicious . The food was great and service was kind and helpful. My son wanted to switch his donut for a different one, but the lady grabbed the wrong donut. She grabbed my daughters instead so my mom bought her the one she wanted. It was an accident so whatever. I would ask though, can you please not have your bathrooms locked? My kid and I were waiting in line to ask for a bathroom key. If it had been my daughter and an emergency, she would've not made it. There were three people behind the counter and all busy with other customers. Then I felt like one of them was avoiding me because they were picking up random things off the counter and putting them away. I'm standing at the counter and not quickly being helped. I just needed a key for my kid. Since my daughter saw my son go potty, she decided she needed to go too. So when I got him settled, she needed to go. We just saw the key on the counter and grabbed it because I'm not waiting again. She's younger, so I go inside with her. Meanwhile, my son needed me the entire time because he couldn't undo his belt. So I'm helping my daughter. She cries because the toilet seat and toilet somehow pinched her back thigh. She tries to get back on, and she doesn't actually have to go. This entire time, I'm trying to listen for my son who should be done by now. She doesn't actually have to go so I exit the bathroom with her. My son calls my name and says he needs help with his belt. I fasten it back on, but then he closes the door. I'm knocking, then banging and calling his name telling him to get out. Gosh, I'm just done and ready to go home. He tells me he isn't done and hasn't gone yet. Not understanding why, my patience is shot and done. He never explained until we got back in the car that he couldn't undo his belt. All of this could've been avoided had the bathrooms been unlocked and available to customers. If you're a parent of young children reading this, you know this kind of struggle. Please unlock your bathrooms for families with young kids. It'll save you a mess anyways. read more

Cinnamon roll - it was perfection. Very sweet of course with that thick glaze layer. The proportion of cinnamon, dough, and glaze was wonderful. I ate it cold and it was still delicious Strudelbaker breakfast burrito: eggs, pastrami, gravy and cheese -- so good i burned my tongue trying to eat it. Bagel pastrami sandwich- also phenomenol. Very filling and the bagel itself was delicious. Most people seemed to come in for the donuts and baked goods, but i would recommend trying out some of their breakfast items! read more

This place has gone so far downhill in the past years, I keep wondering when they're finally going to close. Everything in the store screams "cost cutting" as if they're about to go bankrupt. I stopped to grab some donuts as a treat this morning, the case barely has any items in it as if they didn't even bother to bake any. I realize the other store makes the donuts and trucks them over so they just leave them on the giant racks for you to guess what selection they have. The pink sprinkle donuts frosting was a pale faded hue of puce... leading one to wonder if it was intentionally not pink or week old faded from the fluorescent lights. The latter is my guess. I ordered 2 chocolate bars and a bear claw. The chocolate bars are roughly the size of a candy bar now... maybe 4 inches long. Victim of shrinkflation? The price surely isn't as the cost was $7... before the forced "15, 20, 25, custom tip" screen gets shoved in your face. Yes... let me tip you for handing me 3 donuts. As I paid you look around at the decor that was once modern and shiek, is now drab and sad. The display cakes are embarrassing... straight out of the 80's overly buttercreamed and hideous red / white combos, or a beehive i think a 3rd grader made. The 5 layers of dust on them make them even more appealing. This is not the place I'd be looking to get a special occasion cake. Oh but the real cakes look good right? No. The one cake they had in the case looked like it was made by a part time teenager that could care less about decorating a cake. The decor is accented by lovely hand written signs taped to the wall... Definitely bringing the literal sense of "hole in the wall" to the shop. This is the place people come because "it used to be good". It isn't anymore. Surviving on the few loyal customers it has, this place lacks a freshness that will fail to bring in any new clients in the future. My suggestion... drive a mile south to the donut shop that fives you a dozen for $13. Not only is that 4 times the amount, but the sizes arent miniature. read more

Oops! Just realized that my opening statement before sounded like their location or interior space was somehow lacking. Not the case; they are in a fine venue. It's just that the amazingly delicious donut I had the pleasure of eating took away all my discernment skills for evaluating my surroundings. ;-) SO GOOD!!! Also, I neglected to mention properly that the two team members who helped us were really wonderful in their customer service skills, and in making us feel like our business was valued. The two ladies working there Wednesday morning were: Unfriendly Curt Didn't listen to my order and seemed to give me what was easy for them rather than what I wanted. No greeting when I came in or when they served me. They just didn't seem to care if I came and spent money at their establishnent or not. Their upselling was crudely delivered. A dozen regular donuts bought else where never gets all eaten; but when I bring in the cream cheese puffs they are gone so quickly ( and people take more than one!) I now need to bring in two dozen. And remember to set aside a few for myself. I forgot to do that this time, ran back ten minutes later and found the boxes empty! Love their cream puffs!! I've gotten my coworkers addicted to them when I brought a dozen to the office. If you want to get your coworkers to love you, bring a box of these to your next meeting. Lol. Also, their sugar cookies are bomb! They're different from Smith's cookies, where they're a little softer and more moist. Don't get me wrong, Smith's is still delicious, but these cookies are a whole 'nother level. Their cupcakes are not my favorite (a little too sweet for my taste), but they've got cute designs on them.
