Came for the opening of this shiny new spot yesterday. A gorgeous 3,000 square foot event space that was completely remodeled: with in house catering, vendors, event planners, photo booths, musician! And the food. It was like going to a super fun wedding minus the formality of it. The owner was there as well: super passionate and shared the story of how she bought this space sight unseen: took a long process in turning this into a gorgeous space that it is now. It was super cool! And the food!! They allow outside catering too but the in-house catering: Kaspar catering : baos topped with micro greens and mint. Steamed to serve! Poke rolls :delicious! Panna cotta : in a cup! Lisa Dupar catering: this one was fantastic as I've had a chance to taste their food in the past at a wedding. The gorgeous cupcakes, macarons, molasses cookies and stunning cake. All were so pretty! Mark ryan wine! I mean, what's not to love as it's one of the wineries I frequent in Woodinville wine country. My pup baci's favorite too. Luxe Photo Booth: this one was so fun! The 360 Photo Booth!! I've seen them in Time Squares recently as well as at a valentines event. But this one was so much more fun as I didn't have to wait in line or fight the crowd for it. The person that was running it was super friendly and helpful too. The jazz musician was pretty rad too. And they had valet!! Butler Valet: All the friendly guys in uniform waiting for you as you arrived during rush hour in downtown: pretty darn cool. All events should be this cool. I'm only going to events with valet from now on! Ok thanks. The space itself is lovely and versatile, providing a unique value proposition for the size of space and delivering on quality across the board. Liz and Nate were very helpful throughout the evaluation and planning process and Shane was a terrific day of partner in helping put on our party. It's also great to work with folks dedicated to the community in such a tangible way (they are a nonprofit and support other similar organizations as well). The planning process: Danielle, the event manager, was organized, thoughtful, answered all our questions promptly, and gave us ample heads-up with any deadlines we might be approaching. The night of the wedding- I heard from many friends to prepare myself for things going wrong and to roll with it - but nothing went wrong! The event staff at Georgetown took care of everything! The food was delicious (many raves about the meal and the appetizers), and the drinks were equally good (a wide range of options + our signature cocktails - the Jolly Roger and the Orange Mojito). Idk, lol) was the highest priority and the first wedding planning task we took on. We live in Seattle and wanted to get married in the city, and were drawn to industrial type venues. I think all in all we toured 15 venues across different Seattle neighborhoods-a handful in the Sodo neighborhood- and ended up choosing WithinSodo for it's versatility in space, it's already existing beauty (hint-budget brides- you really don't need much additional decor unless you really want it), the welcoming staff, the easy kitchen for caterers, its size being large enough for our group but small enough to still feel intimate (we invited 200, 140 showed) and the opportunity to have some outdoor space on our wedding day. Even before our wedding day, each time we waked into the WithinSodo space we felt butterflies, the energy is really something you can't see or touch but you can feel it and we loved it. While needing to use the in house bar at first felt like a con because it can be more expensive than doing it on your own-in the end became a pro as the ease of having everything taken care of by talented professionals (our drinks were amazing, the bar staff even worked with us to create a secret cocktail on the menu) was well worth it-and the cost was much lower than we expected given our friend group of happy drinkers. We just loved everything about spending our wedding day at within Sodo from the ambiance and the slow reveal of different rooms in the space and especially the rooftop dance party and we'll be forever grateful that we chose this space. Kate. We can't review WithinSodo without gushing about Kate, which feels truly evil because not everyone will get to work with her in the same capacity as we did. Sorry everyone. Kate is the venue representative but happened to be filling in for the on-site day of coordinator to plan and execute our wedding day while WithinSodo was going through a coordinator staffing change. However, we have to elaborate on how lucky we feel to have been placed with Kate and how lucky you'll be to have Kate play ANY part in your wedding day as part of the WithinSodo team. We were able to completely relax and enjoy our wedding day because Kate worked so hard and so efficiently leading up to it and the day of the wedding. Kate's astute attention to detail got us thinking about aspects of our wedding day that we hadn't even considered, and through the answers she gleaned from her thoughtful questions she knew exactly what was important to us and where we were more flexible. She got to know us, our story, and our hopes for the day so well and by the time the wedding day came we trusted her without reservations to solve problems, make decisions, and execute the best night of our lives so that we could be present. As a wedding client you have unlimited virtual or in person walk-through sessions at the venue as you're planning, and we found ourselves taking every opportunity possible not only to come see the space in person but to spend some time with Kate. Her professionalism is 10/10 but in a way that still leaves her completely approachable and fun to be around. Kate-we know that you moved mountains for us on and before our wedding day and we will never forget the love and care you gave to us. We just received a sneak peek of our wedding video and Kate makes a tiny appearance and our hearts bursted with joy when we saw this because she became so cherished in our wedding memories. Although the price was a bit higher than other venues in the area, I'm glad I chose it. The event space is nice, spacious, and clean. The parking lot accommodates about 40 cars, with additional street parking available. I didn't end up using the kitchen, but it was large and even had an ice maker. There were plenty of tables and chairs provided, which made setup much easier. I toured both the Kent and Renton halls with Dustin, one of the managers, and he was very professional. Kyle, the other manager, was also great - he responded quickly to my texts both the day before and the day of the celebration. I would 100% recommend this venue for weddings, receptions, and other special events!
