Came around 5pm and it only had a table of 3 guys in the store. Store is really small so when it gets busy, I could imagine there will be a wait time. The moment you step in, you are immediately greeted by the maids, which for that day there were 2 and both were dressed in maid costume speaking in a cute voice. One of them walked me to my table and the other one told me about what is on the menu. Since I was having dinner right after, I went with their Takoyaki afternoon tea special ($60) which includes a $40 value drink. Once food is ordered, the maid asked me if I wanted to play card or board games with her, I opt to just chat and she was fine with that. Food came and the Takoyaki was just mediocre and the Green Apple drink I ordered for the combo was just okay, but the experience was pretty neat as I had to perform a Japanese magic phase with corresponding hand gestures before they allow me to eat my food. There is a 2 hours limit and it makes sense because if you allow board gaming, they should set a time limit. If you want a picture with one of the maids, it's $30 a picture with one maid, if you want it with both then it's $60. This is more for money grabbing if anything if you ask me since it's free to take pictures with the maids in the Uncle Tetsu Maid Cafe in Toronto. Overall 3 stars, food was mediocre but good to see a maid cafe in HK.

At first I was a bit worried, because it seemed that I was the only one waiting at this particular food stall...but then twenty minutes in, a horde of people began lining up behind me. I guess I beat the dinner rush hour? There is one cook and I don't know how she manages it, but she somehow gets through each and every order on her own. She is so nice and gracious. I asked if I could get my bibimbap without pork and she kindly offered to give me an extra egg. There is a bit of a wait seeing as how she is the only one running the entire food stand, but she tries to serve everyone as quickly as possible. Of course, there is also the issue of hygiene but then again...this is Asia. If you eat at a food stand, don't expect the cook to clean the pots and pans every time they're cooking up a new dish. They just reuse the same pan, with the same old sauces left over from cooking the previous order, and the same spatula. There's nothing unusual about this. Regardless, pushing this thought to the back of my mind, my bibimbap turned out to be delicious. The hot sauce, the fried egg(s), the vegetables -- everything was put together nicely. Unlike the one I had in Seoul, this one had a Cantonese twist to it. Instead of providing kimchi, the cook added some picked squash and radishes. Still had that tangy spicy flavor, but just different texture. Comparably, I'd still have to say that the one I had in Korea was the best bibimbap by far. However, the one I had here was satisfying enough. 4 stars for service, 3 stars for quality of food. Based upon my observations of the huge line waiting at this place AND from my own experience of eating here, this place is decent if you're craving some Korean.

Because right after seating a bunch of other people came in and had to get on a waiting list due to almost every other table being reserved already! The atmosphere was cutely decorated, with a cool bookshelf on the wall right when you walk in. They have many different style business cards apparently designed like cards that kids use to trade with. Anyway, the restaurant itself is somewhat spacious by Hong Kong standards. They have all your typical western dishes, such as spaghetti, risotto, all day breakfast, etc. I had the all day breakfast which was pretty nice. It came with an orange juice and strangely a hamburger patty. Dont usually get that in an breakfast set, but I'm not complaining! Dont really have much to complain about, except that the sausage is a little bit weird. Its almost too chewy as if its overly processed. The service and the food is decent, so if I'm in the area I would definitely come back for another meal. That's a great price, and I figure if even the food is awful, it's still not much more than two drinks. As others said, this place is somewhat a hidden gem. Its entrance is a narrow commercial building entrance on Nathan Road, right by Hillwood Road, closer to Jordan than TST. Located on the second floor, the big windows look out to verdant shades, totally blocking out the hustle and bustle outside. The price of afternoon tea has increased, but at HKD128, still a fair price if no longer a steal. We ordered flavored fresh-squeezed lemonades (or you can choose tea, coffee or soda), and our food arrived on a wooden board: two hamburger sliders, two salmon croissants, bacon wrapped asparagus, mac & cheese, BBQ fries and brownies. All is quite tasty except for the mac & cheese, which I find really bland. Applegreen bills itself as offering Californian cuisine. Their menu has lots of salad, and pasta ranging from carbonara to tequila lime chicken to mentaiko. There are also carne asado quesadilla, Jamaican chicken wings, jambalaya flatbread and more, just to show how international the menu is.

For Hong Kong, this restaurant is quite spacious. I've always been able to grab a seat every time I came in the afternoon. I've tried many different dishes here and usually it doesn't disappoint! What I like the most about Applegreen is that they're not just a salad house. They have a pretty wide array of dishes and drinks on the menu. But of course, if you want to eat "healthier", they have plenty of salads to choose from. Most of their salad has "half" servings, which is actually misleading. Their half portion is enough for 2-3 people if you order it with a second or third dish. Their "full" serving of the salad is humongous. Probably more suited for 3-5 people. Just be warned! Also as a tip, if you order salad you can request FREE banana bread to go with it. For their other dishes, they have your typical pastas, but what I like is their Flatbreads. Think of it as a very thin crust pizza. Quite tasty and large in portion. They also have some more unique items from their varying breakfast menu, such as honey glazed bacon, eggs benedict, or other experimental items. As for their drinks, most of their tea-juices have unlimited refill! Surprisingly an uncommon thing in Hong Kong. Applegreen is moderately priced. The place is very well lit and has an oddly cheerful-feeling, though it was pretty empty when I went. The food they serve is paired with some pretty spicy sauces and soups, adding a little bit of zing to your palette. There's where the soy milk comes in handy. They don't provide napkins, but for the killer rates they offer for their food, you can't really complain.
