It's Popeyes and they exceeded by international expectations. Needless to say, I only ate there to see if the taste was the same. To start, let's talk about the line to order - it's Popeyes why is there a line as if it's free or something. I ordered the wing meal, which came with coleslaw that I was not going to eat ( didn't look like normal coleslaw), fries and wings NO BISCUIT, iT'S AN EXTRA COST. Really, how do you not automatically get a biscuit with a meal at Popeyes and they give you an 8 oz drink cup so please don't be overly parched. The chicken actually was tasty, and it was obvious that the oil was not overused like it tends to be in the states. It's Popeyes in Honk Kong, if you're missing American fried chicken, give it a go

Call me biased but yes, I love this place. When I was growing up in Canada, my mother would drive an hour to the closest Popeyes just to buy the biscuits. Yes, those soft, buttery, warm toasted biscuits. Delicious. And probably because of this childhood memory, they still are my favorite to this day. Besides the biscuits, the fried chicken also beats most other fried chicken chains in Hong Kong. Spicy cajun fried batter, juicy tender meat inside. The Hong Kong restaurant is a bit less predictable in terms of the quality, sometimes drier sometimes more moist, but generally quite good. The only pity is there only is one Popeyes, and it's in the airport. Not that I wouldn't come all the way for it though.

One of the best fried chicken joints in HK, hands-down no-contest. The fried chicken, popcorn shrimp and biscuit here are amazing! They only have shop at the airport; can't find it anywhere else in Hong Kong. Hence I have made this my pre-flight ritual, I always drop by for a meal before boarding. My only complaint is that they don't take Octopus card, so you have to pay cash.

Now I know what all the hype is about

Tender juicy chicken, the taste was beautiful. I would have given 5 stars but it was a fairly oily. Definitely worth a visit if you're a bit peckish before your flight. I was always wondering why people were lined up for this deep fried bird. Now I know it's really enjoyable.

For the star lines, one of the best clubs to be able to enjoy is Singapore's club. If flying Thai Air, it worth the super long walk to enjoy the food at this club. The offering at this club are solid: the club featured soup, salad, multiple entrees. They even had dim sum. Plus the club has a full bar where they were making martinis. What the club doesn't have is space and a view. The club gets super busy. Seating can be challenging. The club does not have any windows, so quite dark and biting to sit for long times. As the club is not super large, the bathroom amenities are minimal. The bathroom only had a few stalls. There are showers, which is great if you've been traveling for a while. Not there is a first class club next door which was quiet. Worth the stop for the food, not the views!

Food - ordered the laksa soup and had dim sum and some other hot Indonesian food - all excellent, but all served at room temperature. Oh well. It's a buffet! I always look forward to checking out airport lounges, especially when traveling internationally,…read moreso I was excited to visit the United Club. The lounge itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of seating and a nice variety of food and beverage options. One thing that stood out to me was the self-serve bar, complete with a sign that read, "Please consume responsibly." As for the food, it was just okay. There was a decent selection, but as an American, many of the offerings didn't really appeal to my palate. Overall, it's a solid lounge with a relaxing atmosphere and good amenities.

The space has been lightly renovated and remains probably the best and most beautiful United Club around. It literally soars above the airport main floor. I've been here during the reopening week in October 2025, and again in January 2026. The first time was a pretty crowded afternoon; today I was the first member there at 6AM opening. Morning offers a nice assortment of Continental, American and Chinese breakfast options. I love their pork/salted egg-preserved cabbage congee (jook). So simple and tasty. Staff walked around offering dim sum bamboo baskets of dumplings. Very classy for a United Club. The self-serve bar is well stocked and I also used the staff-assisted Bloody Mary cart. There are several showers too. The only disappointment is that during the renovation, the designers didn't bother to update the charger outlets to USB-C standard, still using the almost obsolete USB-A outlet types. Electrical outlets accept both US and Hong Kong UK standard plugs (but probably 220v).

The food is okay quality. Nothing special. I visited during the morning session with breakfast items. Congee, XLB, scrambled eggs, mini pancakes, sausage, salads. That kind of stuff. But at least they have entree hot food and not just snacky stuff. I did like their ice cream which was from Switzerland and their yogurt from France. Convenient location and if you're lucky, a nice view down into the airport.

Some cutbacks are definitely noticeable, especially with the absence of TWG tea and fewer quality food and plant-based options available compared to before. At times it feels like they are just winging it and see where we land. Pun intended. That said, the staff remains kind and helpful. Special thanks to the cleaning staff who managed the facilities who enhances the experience. The showers are fantastic. A refreshing break during travel. The L'Occitane amenities are a lovely touch. I also enjoyed the whimsy of having a non-alcoholic drink dedicated to Sir Charles Frosty Blue. American Express' apparent loyal watchdog in every lounge. It added a fun element to my visit. While there are some improvements needed, it still has its charm. It is still plane awesome in many ways.

Hong Kong review #14…read more Breakfast in the Hong Kong airport before our flight back to Manila. After walking around and around all of the restaurants in and around the food court area, I decided I didn't want to (have to) walk around looking for an empty table, while carrying a tray of food. This place looked good, so we walked in to be seated. Dining & bar / sushi bar(?) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/%E5%B3%B0%E6%99%AF%E9%A4%90%E5%BB%B3-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF-5?select=uWD1kWyFpa6jo6EqMUWSrA http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/%E5%B3%B0%E6%99%AF%E9%A4%90%E5%BB%B3-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF-5?select=FTdO706E4FKafzRTRtdafg SERVICE: Let's see... they take you to your table, take your order and bring you your food. Yup, that's about it! I'd have to say this falls under "typical restaurant service in Asia", even though it was far from your typical Asian restaurant. They get the job done, are not particularly friendly or attentive, but they are not harsh or rude either. One nice thing is they'll let you sit there as long as you want.... you must ask for the bill. Also, they have free wi-fi, which was nice. REALITY CHECK: Remember people, you are in an airport and EVERYTHING costs more! FOOD: On that same note above, this was the most expensive meal of my entire trip, HK$340 ($44 US) for the two of us! No, it's not a great value, but then it's far from a "food court" meal too. We started with a cup of hot chocolate, which was good, but obviously made from a powdered mix. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/%E5%B3%B0%E6%99%AF%E9%A4%90%E5%BB%B3-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF-5?select=lbYVsm_2gCgKHlCC5il7Xw When I saw "danish" on the menu and "apricot" as a flavor, I quickly ordered 2! OMG these were SO GOOD! The pastry was super light and flaky, lightly "crackling" like a good croissant as I bit into it. The filling was just right, not too sweet and a great apricot flavor, DELISH! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/%E5%B3%B0%E6%99%AF%E9%A4%90%E5%BB%B3-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF-5?select=6djreUnzosRDSX1KFX194Q I decided on the ham & cheese omelette which came with a broiled (grilled?) tomato and a slice of toast. Yes the omelette was on the small side, especially considering the nearly $20 (US) price tag. But WOW this was THE BEST omelette I've had in a very long time, absolutely delicious! Perfectly (and correctly) cooked, plus bursting with flavor! They used a blend of cheeses, including parmesan which worked so well. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/%E5%B3%B0%E6%99%AF%E9%A4%90%E5%BB%B3-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF-5?select=FgwZSv2MebOKpV7O95iPUw My friend had the pancakes with ricotta & honey. Beautiful presentation but small portion. Ricotta is an interesting and an odd thing to serve with pancakes, but the honey helped. Whipped cream would have been better, IMHO. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/%E5%B3%B0%E6%99%AF%E9%A4%90%E5%BB%B3-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF-5?select=QCnPlp7kSxNiaQ7x2KTfrQ OVERALL: It was costly having breakfast in an airport and service was like 2.5 stars. However the food was a solid 4+ if not 5 stars. But would I go to Cafe Deco again? Just because of the cost, probably not.
