It is more relax and chill than the Wanchai location I had been to on this trip. All Day Breakfast is the way to go and probably the best deal if you want to have a flat white and something to eat. For me, coffee though is the star. Piccolo Latte ($36+10% SC) is not something I would indulge myself daily at this price point. They have a outside facing counter top designed for getting your coffee to go. My rating is based on the following: Coffee: 4.5 stars Food: 3.5 stars Experience: 4 stars Recommend: the Istanbul (seasonal drink), & iced cappuccino The coffee here is one of the better coffees in town. They have some unique offerings here where you can have coffees flavored with various different sweeteners (agave, Manuka honey, Okinawa sugar). They also offer seasonal drinks which change periodically. My favorite drink here is the Istanbul. The pour over options are done by a machine. The barista claims that it makes a more consistent cup of coffee but it really detracts from the experience and really makes me question the high cost if this isn't done by hand. I buy my beans for use at home here and the offerings they have from Indonesia are my favorite (West Java or blue roca). Price is bit cheaper than other shops especially if you use the prepaid charge card. One complaint is that their beans are not always recently roasted and can be over a month old. The food here is pretty good if you grade on a scale of cafe food. A bit on the pricey end but still nothing crazy. I wouldn't come here for the food but wouldn't mind eating here. The baked goods are ok and not something I would order.

This cafe is locally famous and has been featured in multiple Hong Kong gourmet magazines. All cakes and small dishes are homemade! The people there are really nice but sometimes when things get a little hectic you have to wait outside of the cafe to get seated. Some of my recommendations include the Irish Chocolate, Mushroom Pie and all of their cheesecakes. Actually getting an angel hair / spaghetti for lunch is pretty nice too. :) Highly recommended!

One of the best coffee shops in HK Island. That, and unlike Omotesando, this is a proper, legit, HK style shop. It's hard to find. It's weirdly hidden, inside of another business (not telling), on the second floor of a random building (also not telling). The hours are not posted, and I assume are made up depending on how folks feel. Only one of two elevators in the building actually stops on this floor, and you get to figure out which one (still not telling). The door guy, lies to you, and tells you that there is no cafe at all. It's classic, legit, wonderful, slightly crazy, but still delightful Hong Kong. And, when you finally figure out where it is, and manage to make it there, you're rewarded with amazing coffee, and beautiful late art. You're still in Wan Chai, but life is suddenly better. Its actually at the base of a newer apartment complex. You can order your typical 'cafe' food here, such as American Breakfast, waffles, muffins, sandwiches, coffee, etc. I came in late afternoon and they surprisingly had an afternoon tea menu. There's some pairing options, but basically you get a coffee and cake/croissant/yogurt. We had a hot chocolate, cappuccino, croissant with ham/cheese, and a New York cheesecake. Drinks were both pretty good. The croissant was much smaller than I had anticipated, and the cheesecake I would suggest to avoid. It was hard and dry, so who knows how long its been sitting in their counter fridge. Around late afternoon they had plenty of seats. Big pluses for me is the large screen tv projected against the wall, and chargers (including usb wall chargers) along many seats.

On top of all that, the place didn't even offer WiFi, saying it "wanted to encourage conversation". Yeah sure dude, stiff us for a 60 HKD beer and don't even do us the courtesy of giving free WiFi.
