One of my fan favorite meals: the meatloaf w/gravy sides of yellow rice and house salad topped w/ special olive oil, Italian dressing.
Alphanso J.

Since I've first stepped foot in there just before the beginning of Summer, this place has become one of my go to favorites. I've been trying to keep this place a secret for a bit but I wanna give all the praise that I can because the food, yeah.... It's definitely delicious! The staff are always chill and friendly. While, they move at a speedy pace to make sure that all orders are on point. A calm place to go for it caters to the nearby neighborhood, universities and hospital. So, a nice iced coffee for a summer morning to relax the day away.

Raw chicken in the middle and spoiled cucumbers
Metro G.

If I can give them a zero, I would. I used to always order from here but never again. I got a salad with breaded chicken. The chicken chunks in the middle were raw (pink and gummy). Also gave me spoiled cucumbers. Claimed it was the salad dressing that made the cucumbers turn clear and sour. I went over to show them in oerson the disgusting raw chicken and rotten cucumbers. The manager claimed the cucumbers were fresh. Smh. GRubhub gave me a refund and they offered to make a new salad but I don't trust them. I am not sure why the mamager hired inexperienced people in the kitchen who don't know how to cook. She also said she can't fire him because he is sick also that another cool usually handles the chicken. Smh. It was a circus. They were defensive and instead of apologizing that they possibly gave me food poisoning and will cover medical bills, they washed their hands off. Eat here if you like raw chicken and spoiled cucumbers.

I was greeted with such a welcoming smile when I went for pickup! If you ever looking for greatly priced meal that fills you up, don't hesitate to try this place! It is easy going casual place where I would definitely revisit!

Simple sandwich shop with delicious options. This is a pretty in and out type of sandwich and soup shop. There is a small dining area that has about 4 or 5 tables. During my vist, I ordered the Final Exam, which was a greasy nirvana (a good thing). Also, I have ordered food for catering events, and for the most part, the food was delivered on time. The food is well labeled so people from my event were able to easily identify what they ordered. The price of there food is pretty reasonable - most of the sandwiches come with a soup. Oh the short woman who works the salad station is so nice and pleasant.

10% off if you got a CU Id.

If you consider the neighborhood and all the surrounding places for food, it's a good spot in comparison. Otherwise, it would be run of the mill if you compared it to say your local bodega or deli for sandwiches, especially when you take into consideration price. Like I said, location is the big key. They have a 10% discount if you're CU affiliated and they throw in a free soup if you order one of their sandwiches. I think they threw in some of these perks cause they're not as closeby as their competitor, Apple Tree. I ordered the Double Trouble, which was good. The steak and turkey were tasty. The minestrone soup they threw in was okay. Nothing to write home about but you can't really complain if it's free. All in all, a fairly decent spot. A bit better than some of the other places for food in terms of quantity of food and price. It can get a bit crowded during certain parts of the day.

Breakfast with coffee
Mito I.

Quick Summary: - Their coffee, if you ask for cream and sugar, it becomes a creamy sweet (which I like) - The hash browns in the breakfast plate was delicious - Order doesn't match with the menu, but they have good replacements - Kind service - Good portions for an early breakfast - There are a few seats to sit - Air conditioning is mildly cool I came here to have breakfast, so I ordered coffee and a breakfast set (toast, egg, and fries). At the counter, they told me that they didn't have fries but they had hash browns instead. For me, I love hash browns over fries, so that was a good plus. They also asked if I wanted to cream and sugar with the coffee, so I replied "yes" to this one too. I expected they would pour the coffee to a point where I can add cream and sugar myself, but they actually did that for me. I thought they added a lot of sugar than I had hoped, but after tasting it, it reminded me of the 85 degrees coffee. Overall a good coffee to have in the morning. It wasn't so strong and bitt that it hurt my stomach and it wasn't sour either. Just the coffee I want. The breakfast set came in an aluminum tray with a lid, so I can take it out if I wanted to. The portion was small, so I ended up eating breakfast at the SubsConsious. After taking my order, they came by a few minutes later to hand me a napkin, fork, salt packet, pepper packet, and ketchup. There were two slices of hashed browns and they were so crispy! That was my favorite part of the dish. The egg lacked flavor, so I squeezed a reasonable amount of ketchup over it. The toasts were good too because they slabbed it over with butter. It was crispy too. In the end, it filled me up and I was quite content with the taste.

Chicken sandwich with peppers, provolone and honey mustard - delicious!

Hugely underrated sandwich option near Columbia, but was always one of my favorite places to go. My wife and I met up with old college friends yesterday and we got sandwiches for a picnic on campus here. Still the same as I remember it many years ago. With even more options available - so many unique and interesting sounding choices. We got a philly cheese steak and a grilled chicken with red peppers, provolone and honey mustard (just the right amount - not overpowering). The sandwiches each come with a soup as well and are reasonable at about $9. The place is tight, with no seating, but for a quick place to take out, you couldn't ask for more. A true gem in a neighborhood that is increasingly moving to chains (Shake Shack, Chipotle, Five Guys, etc.)

Incredible breakfast burrito from a neighborhood fav! Great for a quick and affordable breakfast on the go

Clean deli/subs very close to Columbia University Computer Sciences building. I enjoy the walk along the street on a beautiful day and decided to stop here for s sun and grab some water. The place is clean and the workers are friendly. They have very limited seating against the walls and two small tables behind the end counter in the back. Columbia Univ students can show their ID to get 10%. I ordered the turkey sub and a bottle of water. It came out to be close to $10. The sandwich was rather disappointing fir me as the bread is just way too soft. It should be a bit crunchy on the outside texture. The had too much vinegar for me. I didn't like the taste of it but the bf likes it.

When I first walked in, I was caught by surprise by how many choices there are. I don't know how it is even possible. But then I quickly realized that the differences are rather minor. The line gets super long during lunch and dinner hours so be patient! They do try to make sandwiches as quickly as possible. I ordered "Double Trouble" and it was okay! The sandwich was huge and I didn't finish mine in one meal. They do have lots of breakfast and lunch specials. Grilled sandwiches are priced at around $6-8. I think specials are around $5.

There's a camaraderie in the room that invites you to slow down, connect, and truly experience both the conversation and the food. Everything feels considered. My best friend and I each ordered the prix fixe menu, and it was a journey from start to finish. I began with the Spicy Corn & Coconut Soup--honestly, unforgettable. The crispy shallots added just the right amount of texture against the velvety base, and each spoonful layered flavor in a way that felt both comforting and elevated. For my main, I had the kichuri, and Chef Alex Guzman absolutely shines here. He is a star--full stop. There's a clarity and confidence in his cooking that you can taste. The cilantro chutney was perfection, and the way the mint lingers alongside the spice... it's the kind of balance that only comes from someone who truly understands their craft. You can feel his care in every bite. I ended with the key lime pie, and all I can say is thank you. The whipped cream was fresh and airy, the lime zest bright without overpowering, and the crust tied everything together beautifully. It felt like a thoughtful, intentional close to an already incredible meal. I highly recommend starting with the guava mocktail, then pairing your main with the fig mocktail--both are perfectly crafted and complement the dishes so well. Also, sit at the bar. Let Dan guide you through the experience. Trust his recommendations--you will not be steered wrong. He elevates the entire evening. And the playlist? Y'all really did that.

On the whole, have enjoyed elsewhere for years handpulled noodles from Central Asia, so The…read moreHandpulled Noodle perked my interest... although had earlier made it up to this Harlem location. Decided to try an order for delivery via GrubHub and compare dishes with two separate noodles, based on what they recommended for each best for delivery: Beijing Bolo with a fermented black bean ground pork sauce, a.k.a. Zhejiang Mien, including Size #2 pressed noodles thick like udon, scallions, and cilantro, plus Cold Sesame Noodles utilizing handpulled lagman. Both dishes I ordered medium spicy. The Beijing Bolo came in a bowl, while I needed to plate the Cold Sesame dish. Both were flavorful with tender noodles. Next time, more likely to go in person over delivery, and explore other dishes on their menu. It's a great option particularly for this neighborhood! Definitely would recommend trying out The Handmade Noodle!

I placed a pickup order, but when I got there my food hadn't even been started yet, so I ended up standing around for another 10-15 minutes. That part was annoying. I started with the cumin dry rub wings. They were just okay. Very tangy, not very spicy, and honestly a bit over cooked/fried. I'd skip the wings. The steamed chicken and shiitake dumplings were the highlight. They had peas inside and were actually really good. Super flavorful and easily my favorite item. I also ordered the cumin soup with hand-pulled noodles, medium spicy. Everyone warned that spiciness was intense, so I played it safe, but medium ended up being pretty underwhelming for me. The soup was also very oily. The minced pork was fine, nothing special, and while I liked the noodles, they could've been cooked a bit longer. Overall... meh. :/
