This is by far the worst nail salon I have ever been to in my 10 years of getting acrylics. I found Stephen's work on Instagram and was happy to drive an hour away from my home to get beautiful nails. I ended up having to wait 30 minutes after my appointment time even though I was courteous and arrived early. I asked Stephen if he could do "rainbow marble nails" and showed him my inspo pic and he said yes. After he failed at his first attempt, he asked another nail tech for help. The other nail tech then took SHARPIE MARKERS to my nails, resulting in a terrible design. I politely asked them to remove both attempts and for them to just give me a solid color. My natural nails are now weak and torn from over drilling and I spent two and a half hours for a botched set of solid colored nails. The other girls who walked in had to wait hours for their nails to be done while Stephen's wife sat next to him watching him do my nails. I will never return to studio nails! I had the worst/scary experience ever! My nails came out so jacked up I asked jeannies mom to remove them because I was not going to pay for them. Omg this lady flipped out on me she was yelling and cursing me out, she even had the nerve to wish death on me. While I was walking out the door she told me I hope u wreck ur car. Jeannie is a nice straight forward person that's what makes her funny but I lost all respect for her after she text my phone to tell me that I better come back and pay because her mother did and a whole lots of bs. I am happy to have found this place. My nails don't lift like they did when i went to Elite Nail & Salon. I don't like the shop near as much. It is ghetto. A little boy was jumping off a chair. A perfume salesman came in off the street. This salon is closer to our apt which is good. It is also close to the stadium Walmart. The young manicurist lady took extra time to wipe the edges of the nails w/ a brush dipped in remover. I was impressed. I felt royal when she did this! I am looking forward to going back. When I told her my nails tend to lift she went over them TWICE w/ primer and the nails stayed on. I put my nails in a lot of oil & dish water so she did a great job. 5/23/11---7:00 PM-- I was so saddened by Classy Nails off Cooper & Park Row that I couldn't wait to get back to Studio Nails. Studio Nails is no where near as busy as Classy Nails, so you get more individualized attention at Studio Nails. At Classy Nails it is easy to be just reduced to a number. In response to another customer's review: "Waited roughly 30 minutes. That wasn't a deal breaker, just something to note"--go early morning on a Mon or Tues "if possible" they start at 9:00 AM. "-Nail polish selection was terrible. Most were the junk stuff that you can buy at the drugstore. The bottles of OPI were all similar in shade and less than half full. If they are licensed, they can get fantastic prices on the good stuff... $4 a bottle. So why provide junk?"--- I used to buy OPI from Trade Secret in the Parks Mall, but they are closed. There is another salon in he mall not far from the movie theatre that sells OPI. I have gotten older now so I just buy "Nicole" which is another division of OPI which is sold at Walmart. I bring my favorite color and OPI top coat and keep them in a small ziplock sandwich bag in either the glove compartment or my purse . I have never looked thru Studio Nails polish selection. It's too bad they don't have a good selection, but I would never know this. I used to be a manicurist. I mostly only wear the OPI/Nicole line. "-Both televisions were set to infomercials. Not exactly what I want to escape to."--- I'm not big on tv. I bring my ipad w/ my own music selection & Bose headphones, so if little children become annoying I can easily tune them out. "-I could not understand the person doing my pedicure. Not quite a shocker at a nail salon, but I am pretty well versed in broken English and I could not understand her. The owner speaks very good English and yet the nail tech I had did not use her for any kind of translation." ===Phuong does my nails. She has a limited ability so speak English, but we communicate well and she is always courteous. The owner of the shop is not as courteous, but i ignore her. Not everyone is courteous. Oh well! I don't have to live w/ her! 10/2011 I go to Avalon in Northpark Mall b/c I can do other shopping there at high end stores, the salon is very upscale in design, and I can get to Whole Foods and Central Market by using just one day off from work. Phoung is very nice, but she is not "the most" capable nail tech. She can't build acrylic nails w/o gluing an artificial nail on 1st, which I don't like. I just want the acrylic part on my own natural nail no matter how bitten they are, shame on me! I don't care that Phuong is not "the most talented" nail artist. I love the fact that she is kind, nice, caring, honest and has a soothing personality. She likes to buy knock off Louis bags:) Love me some Phuong! She always goes around the nail w/ a paint brush and acetone to remove any traces of polish that went outside the nail, even though none have. This is a nice attention to detail. Tami at Avalon is more talented and I don't think she would ever need to go around the nail at the end, but she doesn't and I miss this about Phoung's service. Tami works in a busier salon so she would not necessarily take time to go around the nail even if you wanted her too. Phoung stays busy too though. I usually have to wait for her to finish someone. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. The new owners have no customer service at all. Had to get them to completely redo my pedi. My fill on my nails look like a kindergartener did them. And when you tell them it doesn't look right, let's just say for once I wish I could understand what they were saying. I having been coming here for 20 years and you would think the nail tech could polish nails... I came in on Saturday, April 18th: First off I was using my own polish and top coat, (which cost $20 total) I cracked one of my toe nails so I asked the tech to fix it with an overlay of acrylic... She didn't let it dry so she had to do it over... It looks nothing like my other toe nail with acrylic that was done by Jeanie (she is awesome but was busy) she didn't put the same coat of polish on each toe nail and didn't allow them to dry during the coats. Once she messed up the big toe polish, she tried fixing it by caking in on and it looked all gummy. I had to complain and then wait for her to fix it. The job she did on my nails wasn't too much better because I had to show her where it needed cleaning, ask her to fix the shape on a few nails, and you can, on some of my nails, see each layer of polish... Pitiful... I paid $18 and let them waiste my polish all to have some chip on Sunday and by Tuesday I wanted another polish change. Mind you I wear gloves if I am cleaning and doing dishes. My toe looks crusty on the cutical and the side but its the way she applied the acrylic... I will never... I mean NEVER EVER waiste my time and money again.. read more

I found this place while looking for the gym. When I walked in I was skeptical because the place seemed a bit run down. I came during the week and there was no wait time. I have terrible in grown nails and the woman took good care of me. She convinced me to get white tips which I caved in. Good thing is that fill-ins are only $11 Monday- Wednesday. I've come back twice and I have been taken very good care of. Prices are reasonable although nail polish selection is slim that is why I took one star away! read more

DO NOT GO THERE! I went yesterday after work to get ombré wide coffin shape the first person that put the nails on cut them to thin. Keep in mind I showed him a picture of the shape I wanted so I asked for him to redo the tips because I want it wider well he did not want to redo them so he made someone else take over and he lied and told me he had a client so I sat at this ladies station I tried to have a conversation with her abt ombré well the "manager " the young guy in the front with the glasses and tattoos went full hood rat and started yellin at me saying "she already explain how she does it" and telling me to be shut up and that I should know how this works basically.. I ask for her to just take the nails off that they put on she didn't mind so she started ripping the nails off causes my real nails to b destroyed then the same manage got aggressive and basically tried to kick me out because I no longer wanted them to do my nail.. he then called the police on me I waiting for them to come they just told me it was pointless for the manager with the tattoos to even call and I can go back there anytime because I did nothin wrong I told the cops no thanks I will never spend my money in there he was trying to embarrass me but didn't work!! I already didn't want their service because they hate for u to tell them how u want ur own nails I'm also filing a report!! I came into this nail salon and presented a picture of the color I'd like. I told them another shop has it named "pink lemonade" but they have numbers here so I wasn't sure. The nail tech hands me over 200 sample nails to look thru. He told me that different nail shops have different types of names for their colors. Okayyy sooooo which one is closest to the picture I've shown you and the name I gave you. He said last time he chose the girl didn't like them and he had to take them off. Now the whole purpose of a consultation is to be in an agreement before the service begins. I'm current a cosmetology student. So very nicely I asked him to just remove the tips that he was gluing down I'm going to go somewhere else but I'd still pay for the tips. He cut them all the way down and waved his hands at me saying you fine don't worry about it. Then as I was walking out the door he shouts "good luck" as if they the only shop open lol. A friend referred this place because her nails stay on for a while, which is why I didn't return to the shop with the color I wanted. After reading a few good Yelp reviews I was excited to give this place a try. I just moved to Texas and work in that area so I stopped by after work to get my nails done and eyebrows waxed. I have been getting my nails done for 8 years and I have never been to a nail salon with such poor quality. When I walked in the salon was messy and dirty. I sat down and a lady that could speak very little English but was very nice started doing my nails. She said that my nails were too bad and had to remove my acrylic nails and put new back on. This had never happened to me and I think she was trying to make more money. I allowed her to take my nails off first and instead of soaking them or anything she just started ripping them off violently I was almost in tears. After that was over she put my nails on and I wanted white tips. You could see my ripped up nails under the clear acrylic and it looked like I attempted to do my own nails. I finally told her when she was done to just put color on them to cover them up and even the paint job wasn't great. Needless to say I will not be going back! read more

I wanted to get a pedicure so I decided to try a different place. Found studio nails on the yelp app and I decided to give it a try. I walked in the main lady (I'm guessing) asked me what I would like done I said a pedicure she told me to pick my color and I did so and sat down. I waited for about 20 mins and a couple came in. It was obvious the people in the shop knew them because the female customer stated that she had called but no one answered her phone call. She told them what service her and her husband would like and they started getting things ready. Instead of calling me to the pedicure chair they called the husband. I said out loud how long have I been here I believe I was next. Few minutes later they started talking in another language and then the "main lady" as she's filing someone's nails says ma'am I'm done your next. I found this business on yelp. It's location is pretty convenient. Off 30 and close to the ATT stadium. I got a regular man-pedi for $30. From Monday to Wednesday, you get $2 off. I went on a Sunday afternoon and they weren't busy at the time, so two ladies worked on me. They were very efficient (took less than a hour to get done) and I am very satisfied with their service. I just moved here from San Antonio for school, where I had an amazing nail tech. I was a bit bummed because I didn't know if I was going to find someone like that here in this new city. I looked at my nails today and decided that I put it off long enough and went to brave this new place. I had a typical mani-pedi and the things I'm going to talk about is, first of all the price ($28!!!) and second of all the service. The woman who did my nails was very friendly and I could understand her perfectly. She was gentle, careful and her massages to my legs and arms were AMAZING! I am being nice by giving this place one star! Worst set of nails I've had in over 20 years. The lady was really nice but when I told her what was wrong with my nails she seemed offended and never fixed my crooked nails. I had to go home and fix and reshape them myself something I shouldn't have to do. One of my nails was shorter than the rest of the set as well. Then I had a pedicure...I should have ran from there after the bad set of nails. The lady was very ruff and I have nice feet they don't require a lot of work. She cut one of my nails short and crooked so had to do an overlay on my toe. Cut my skin while filing them. The overlay looked awful one bigger toe than the rest. I had to go home and file it down to match the rest of my toes. I should never have to go home and fix what I paid to get done because you couldn't do basic services! The lady said she's done nails for ten years...I can't believe this is her skill level after all those years! I would never patronize this establishment again and I don't recommend anyone else to go here unless you want poor quality crooked nails. She knew I was not happy and gave me a huge discount of $2 . I almost forgot everything is going to cost more. I'd say my nails are average length and she charged me $8 more because she said that long costs more. They aren't even long. This place is a rip off. I only stopped by because it was close to home. The place is filthy and needs a good cleaning and upgrade on top of some acrylic classes to improve skills.
