Okay, so plan B turned out really well, and overall I am happy with my experience. They have been in the same location for 20 years, and they are extremely clean. Most times I'll notice dust or cobwebs in the corners at most salons I go to, but they were so clean. I even asked about their pedicure procedures and how they sanitized, so I know I'll get one there one day. This definitely is a mom and pop shop that stays busy because of their regulars, and they know your name, which is refreshing when going to a nail salon. I had a taste of my sisters banana matcha and it was really good even for me who is not big on matcha. I did get an espresso martini and it was good. Kristal did my mama and she did such a great job with my cuticles and helping me pick colors. She worked really hard to do them and it was a long appointment so it makes sense. Unfortunately the nails didn't last long. On the second or third day of having my nails, the thumb chipped, and then the next day my index finger chipped as well. I noticed lifting in a lot of areas for my right hand. A little background, I do work with kids but not aggressively where my nails should be chipping. I don't wash a lot of dishes or have any reason my nails should be chipping. I was able to book nail fix appointment so hopefully after that it'll last a lot longer. I did expect my nails to last 3-4 weeks given what I've heard about Russian manicures. I did love my nails but was disappointed about how long they lasted.

A lot of times I communicate with the nail tech the look that I want, and they don't understand, and I end up with something I didn't want. I decided to visit this nail salon on a friend's recommendation, and it did not disappoint. I didn't realize all the harmful chemicals that are in traditional nail ingredients until i got to talking to the nail techs as Nail Vibes. They pride themself on using non-toxic products that are free of harmful chemicals commonly found in nail polishes, including dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, Ethyl Tosylamide or xylene. They also use Hema-free polishes, HEMA Free gel polishes significantly reduce the risk of allergic reactions and skin sensitivities. Like WOW! I had no idea and the last thing they really care about is having cruelty-free products. yay for animal lovers! They focus on Korean and Japanese nail styles with a commitment to nail health. My friend was telling me they offer Russian-style manicures, and I have never had them before but they sound interesting. She also told me about gel x, which is apparently better and healthier for your nails than traditional nail extensions. Another thing that sets them apart if their dry pedicures; they don't offer the traditional water pedicures because those can increase the chance of infections. Its ok if you get one done every now and then, but I never stopped to think about this kind of thing happening. OK, so i went in with an inspo picture, and it turned out a lot better than what I could have imagined. My nail tech Sela took her time to get all the details right and make sure everything was straight and on point. That set of nails lasted me almost a whole month before I took them off! They never chip or break! Those things were set! They offer you one complimentary drink, and I got the banana matcha I wanna say, it was very yummy. The work stations are very clean because they use fans to catch all the dust and particles that come off when using the drills. This probably stands out to me the most because I cannot tell y'all how many times i gone to a traditional nail salon as is dusty AF lol. Not here, it's very nice, clean, and well-lit. They have Kpop music playing and showing on the TVs. The place is spacious and not huge like other nail places. Jaja ( the owner) has really thought of everything you might need to make your experience with her the best it can be. They have a tray at each nail station for their clients to put their jewelry in. Each station also has a phone stand, and there are even chargers under the stations to charge your phone! I have never been to a nail salon that has all those things! Jaja has done an amazing job in creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. The staff is very nice and professional; they really know their stuff. You can do a walk-in in but if you want a specific style or a specific nail tech, you'd better book that appointment because they will be booked. There is plenty of parking space as they are in a strip mall kinda place with a chicken restaurant and a pizza place next to them, so check them out for lunch while you are there. I would highly recommend coming here and trying them.

The second time, my polish started peeling off in less than a week. I went back today to have that failed manicure cleaned. The tech was nice, but while removing the polish, she burned my nails, multiple times. I think she had her drill tool turned up too high. She did a good job trimming my cuticles, but left several of my nails with sharp and uneven corners. I will try again in a few weeks, and hope that I can get results like I did on my first visit. The staff is very sweet, so I'll give them another chance.
