Julia is an absolute rockstar! I have been going to her for a little less than a year. I went to her originally with very dark hair looking for a change and wanting to lighten. I have had issues in the past at another salon with wanting blonde tones and getting red so I was very apprehensive. I couldn't be happier with the blending and the color of my highlights. She provided an in depth consultation to take my hair from a solid over-processed blonde to a blended, soft lived in blonde with so much dimension that will be a lot less to maintain. I've been getting my hair done at Studio B for almost a year now. I have curly 2c/3A hair. My stylist Hannah is moving to Arizona so I'll be helped by Paige going forward. Hannah was amazing and I look forward to the similar services from Paige, one of the other curly hair specialists. The prices are so reasonable. I was paying around $100 for a curly cut, wash and style at my old place. Studio B has provided me with better quality results and is far cheaper. The studio itself is beautiful. Exposed brick and ginormous windows filled with all sorts of plants. Always clean and staff is always friendly. I never feel judged or uncomfortable. I will be coming here for a while! read more

Honestly, I just wanted a good cut and a stylist that was down to earth. The environment was just a bonus that I didn't know I needed. My stylist was Erin. She is down to earth, listened to what I was looking for and is super sweet and easy to get along with. I opted for a partial hi- lite and funky mullet hawk cut. My stylist had to cancel my haircut appt. due to exposure to Covid so I needed a backup plan. I had heard good things about this salon and it lived up to my expectations. Hannah Pine gave me exactly what I asked for which was just a trim. She made me feel very comfortable being a "senior" and probably her grandmothers age or older! Sarah knows how much I hate going to the hairdresser and always does her best to make me feel calm and give advice on what would look good on me and gives a fabulous head massage! The first time I went to Studio B salon and Erin did my hair, and she did such a fantastic job I had to request another appointment! Unfortunately she wasn't available so I got another stylist Julia. I was a little dissatisfied because everything I requested for she didn't do. She didn't allow the K18 sit or even not have put any leave in treatment at all in my hair after wash she went straight to a dryer. Failed to do a blowout and did beach waves instead. I did not make a comment but note to the professionals who take pride in their work, consumers keep coming back because the service should be consistent. I've been going to Studio B since my senior year of high school and I am finishing my sophomore year of college and I haven't been to a different salon since. I see Paje 99% of the time for a haircut or color and I am always so happy with how my hair turns out. She understands what I'm looking for and is always open if I have questions. Just had my first appointment with Paje at Studio B this week. It had been 4 months since my last hair color/cut and I was def nervous seeing someone new especially at a completely different salon then I was used to. I had crazy regrowth and needed some major color correction. Paje was so extremely easy to talk to and the vibe of Studio B was super cute and comfortable. I walked in wanting one thing that was just not achievable with what was going on with my hair and left with a style that is literally everything I never knew I wanted! I absolutely love this salon! The old mill building decor is minimalist and tasteful and the owner and his staff are welcoming and friendly. Erin (Parker) is my very talented stylist. She's a good listener and inevitably produces the results I'm looking for. She is a miracle worker when it comes to color and successfully help me transition from an over-processsed redhead to my own surprisingly okay and age-appropriate grey hair, while making it possible to still go out in public. She even turned me on to some fun products to try when I feel bored and want a hint of pink or lavender! I was looking forward to trying this salon after reading the great reviews. I went for a root touch up and left disappointed. I knew when the girl didn't bring any color samples over to match it wasn't going to be good. I can already tell after a couple of days that the color is too light. I also left with a fairly noticeable dye stain going across my forehead. I neglected to confirm that if I chose not to have my hair styled/dried that i would still be charged the full price posted on their site. I was charged $100 and left with a sopping wet head of hair. It was my fault for not asking but I believe the stylist should have mentioned something. Any salon I've been to that advertises color and styling has not charged me if I choose to not have that portion done. read more

I feel like I have to leave a review. My hair is truly awful and I'm so so upset. She really just had absolutely no idea what she was doing and had no business working on my hair. I walked in with beautiful, healthy, long, down to my waist, strawberry blonde hair with light gold roots. (Regular hair cuts, no heat styling, last color date was professional and over a year ago) I wanted a trim, layers, face framing layers, and long curtain bangs and I wanted icy blonde blended into my natural light gold hair . They made me come in for a consultation, put down a $100 deposit because it would take over 2 hours. Which, fine I get it. After 3.5 hours of being there, my hair was a hideous dark dark ash blonde, with strawberry pieces, grayish pieces and gold pieces bluntly chopped up to my arm pit. She refused to put in any layers. While I appreciate the owner coming over after 3 hours to apologize, not charge me, and schedule me to fix it. But, I'd gladly pay to get my beautiful hair back. I ended up cancelling the second appointment after coming home, looking closely at it, and crying. The color is just so completely unflattering to my skin tone and really hideous in general. There are random angled pieces in the front with one weird piece of maybe a bang on one side. So deeply upset and disappointed and a waste of an entire Saturday. She was incredibly nice, but she should have asked for help much sooner and should know basic hair cut techniques. If your hair is important to you, be careful. I will not be coming back, literally ever again.. read more

Brittani is one of the best hairdressers in R.I. She never struggles with my coarse and difficult hair and never has to battle with toners to get the perfect color. She does it right the first time and it always comes out perfect and beautiful. The ambiance here is great- love the atmosphere and ALL of the stylists are super friendly and comment on the customer's hair that they did a great job. Really unfortunate. I have been a repeat customer every 6 weeks for almost 2 years now. And today I left not loving the tone of the blonde put in my hair. First off this is such a beautiful salon with gorgeous views inside the building. The staff were all so nice and friendly, even over the phone! Booking was really easy, all I wanted was a cut but with anyone who knows curly hair. I was booked with Paje who was absolutely phenomenal. So nice and easy going. Cannot believe how great my hair looks! I have been seeing Hannah ever since we graduated high school in 2016. I first asked her to balayage my hair when she was a student at Paul Mitchell a few years ago and she has done an excellent job ever since then. She knows exactly what to do with her clients and is great at giving recommendations. I recently went into Studio B and showed her some hair inspo pictures.
