I had called to schedule an appt with this salon seeing that there were great reviews for curly cuts. I'm on a journey to revive my once curly hair that is now lifeless and stringy due to a bad dye job from a previous salon. From reading the reviews, I knew the stylist at Aruverde were my only hope. When I called to schedule the appt they didn't have any availability for three months. But that didn't deter me, it only spoke to how good the stylist are if they are this booked. So finally, the actual day of my appt arrives and I arrive at the salon only to be warmly greeted by all of the staff members. The salon was adorable, with a high end look but made you feel comfortable. Simony, the owner, tended to my mane. She did wonderful and was very knowledgeable about her craft. We came up with a game plan to get me to my end goal. My next appt is in June and I can't wait to go back and see how my hair has progressed. I cannot recommend this salon enough. These stylist care about the integrity of your hair more than simple fixes or doing a style that will damage your hair. Simony flat out told me that she will never agree to do something to my hair that will damage it and I like stylist that aren't scared to say NO. Give this spot a try, you won't regret it. read more

The most unfortunate experience at Aveda today more so as i had been their client the longest time. They have a cancellation policy which is not uncommon. once when I have canceled before close to my appointment, they called back and charged me on the card. This seems usual for many businesses so it was fine. Next time had an appointment within 24 hours (the next day), but my father-in-law got sick and had to be hospitalized. This was a 911 kind of emergency, the day before my appointment in the afternoon I called them immediately to let them know what had happened -- this is the day before my appointment. Nonetheless next time during my visit they wanted me to pay the cancellation charge because it was within the 24 hour policy as the owner kept insisting ( I called later in the afternoon the day before and the appointment was later in the morning the day after). The owner mentioned that it's not fair to other customers -I'm just wondering where is the equity and fairness issue for a client like me who calked a day earlier and had a Medical emergency to deal with. Irrespective of good products and standard service, this is how unfortunate it was and I don't see the right business policy, personal touch or client oriented attitude in this. Run, don't walk...especially if you have curly or wavy hair. I came here today to get a haircut with Aiyanna, and I have never had a better experience with a curly cut than I've had here. She looked at my inspo pic, hyped me up, and then gave me a wonderful shampoo/conditioner. Aiyanna noticed that my blonde could use a boost so she used a purple shampoo. After cutting, Aiyanna styled it SO cute. She finger coiled each curl, which I have NEVER had done before, even at "curly certified" salons. She took her time diffusing it, and I loved the results. I got so many compliments when I left the salon! (Usually I have to go home immediately and restyle, because the curls are never right, but not this time!) Last but certainly not least, this salon made me feel incredibly welcome. It embraces all manners of diversity. RADICAL inclusion. It was a lovely experience overall, from the warm towel when I arrived, to the relaxing shampoo and head massage, and then the cut itself. My hair stylist was lovely to chat with, and the whole salon ended up teaching me how to keep my hair up at night to give it volume the next day. I'd give Aiyana 1000 stars! I have curly hair...mix of type 3. Often when I get my hair cut, they cut it way too short and don't pay attention to overall shape, just each curl and end up cutting it way too short, losing any length and turns into a mushroom with bottom growing too long and heavy. Aiyana is so skilled. She somehow kept the length and got it back to health, while also being out the curl. I've been having a hard time finding shampoo since deva curl. She recommended shampoo and conditioner that I really like. And she did these long layers, the curls look great. Normally, when the stylist turns me around to look in the mirror, I look quickly and then awkwardly smile. Aiyana turned me around and I actually smiled, it was such a wonderful feeling. I don't think I've had such a great hair cut since 22 years ago when I was living in Italy. Like another reviewer, i. Normally go home and wash my hair immediately. This time, I was wishing I had somewhere to go and show off this great cut. I didn't wash it for two days and only because I went swimming. A week later and I'm still loving it, no longer feeling like it needs to be in a pony tail. Aiyana was also so nice and great to talk to. If you have curly hair, I highly recommend you go and experience Aiyana's magic yourself! One other note, scheduling couldn't have been easier. I went to Rosebud for the first time last week to get a curly cut from Simony. It was a fabulous experience. The salon itself is very cute and clean and even better it's next door to Pastiche! Everyone was super nice and of course Simony rocked my haircut. After washing my hair she even put a hot towel on my hands and massaged them! My haircut was amazing and I'm getting compliments all the time. She gave tips about how to keep my curls healthy and clearly knew what she was talking about. I'm just sorry there are not six stars with which to rate this company. I was visiting the lovely state of Rhode Island, sporting a do it yourself hair color and style that was so bad, it would stop traffic. Trust me I needed emergency hair saving trauma surgery. Fortunately Chris Chabot of the beautiful Chabot Gallery referred me to Rosebud Salon, featuring Aveda Products. There are not enough positive adjectives to describe the empathetic and unmatched hospitality these folks extended me. I am not going to be a repeat client, because I live in Phoenix, and therefore this business could have placed their best interests first. Instead the owner, Doreen, opened her heart, arms and kindness and was so gracious to me, I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I spent the lion's share of my morning in her beautiful little shop, laughing and having fun with Doreen, Simony (a wickedly precocious young woman with an outrageous spirit and sense of humor, and talented stylist in her own right), and the patrons. The results were so good regarding the new color and style of my hair, I don't know how it could have been any better. First visit, went in for a wash, trim, and style. Nice atmosphere, they sell almost the full line of Aveda products, and services range from everything to do with hair, to manicures, pedicures, and one type of facial that sounds interesting. They also do makeup. The stylist did an ok job, a little impersonal and did not introduce herself. I think I paid a bit too much- 40+tip, for the result. I have had bad luck finding a really good hair artist! If any ladies reading this know of a great talent in the Providence area, please let me know. After a year and a move from NYC to Providence in the middle of a pandemic, I got my hair cut! I read reviews and tried to judge who could cut my very curly multicolored with lots of gray hair and do right by it. I was picking up a birthday cake at Pastiche on Spruce St and saw Aruverde next door and I got a good feeling soI made an appointment. first of all they were really accommodating and got me in. I had read that they knew how to do curly hair and a lot of people loved the owner, Simony, so that's who cut my hair. It was the most amazing, joyful experience. She is an artist! My hair is healthy again, all the dryness is gone and I look like me!! Everyone in the salon is terrific! My husband had a great cut with Jessica. Space is airy and plant-filled but not pretentious and they use Aveda products. I can't believe how happy I am. I already scheduled a follow up appointment. Highest recommendation! I was referred to Rosebud by the Aveda staff at Providence Place, and Simony has been my hair stylist ever since (4+ years). In the past, I have never had any real loyalty to a stylist, but the quality and consistency of Simony's work makes it impossible not to. I receive many compliments on my hair and always wholeheartedly refer those to Rosebud. While I have not had my hair attended to by any of the other stylists, all of their work seems equally as impressive. I was told by a lady at the Aveda store to come see Simony at Rosebud. I love Aveda products and thought I'd give this place a try. I was able to schedule a color consultation in a few days with Simony. She spent a good deal of time with me trying to figure out exactly what I'd like to do. It was raining like crazy that day and she let me come in early because I was walking which I thought was great. I then made an appointment with her to get my hair done. When I came back she remembered me and even had taken more of her own time to find other color swatches that I might be interested in. I picked out a great color. She did a wonderful job, she's very personable, fun to talk to, and seems to enjoy her job. I was pleased with my hair color and trim. I already made another appointment with her. The cost of the service was reasonable and they take the $15 which is the cost of the consultation and apply it to the color appointment. After that it is only a root touch up which is much cheaper than the color pull through. I'm glad I found this place and Simony!! read more

I had been having my hair done for a while at this salon and investing quite a bit of money in their Aveda products. Unfortunately this review is based on the last three appointments I had. And had to cancel. This first cancellation was based on a hospital emergency with my 96 year old mother and I actually had a friend call them to cancel. The second cancellation was because I suddenly came down with a 48 hour violent virus( so did my husband) and, once again, had to let them know. The third time was on a Sunday when I got sinusitis, ear infection and pneumonia and didn't recuperate for over 2 1/2 weeks. I called on Tuesday and was told that I had to pay $60.00 for missing the appointment and not giving at least 24 hour notice. I had no problem paying, which I did, but if I had given 24 or 48 hours, they didn't work those days, so I thought it interesting ( until I was told that my stylist lives above the salon and would have checked the messages, which I never knew). When I called on Tuesday to cancel, the receptionist was extremely abrupt and almost angry and when I asked if my slot had been able to be filled, from their cancellation list, she said no, once again angrily, and the owner, who was my stylist, didn't even have the courtesy to call herself ( given that she had a 3 hour open slot) and at least explain to me, the issue that she could have called other people over the weekend and also wish me a speedy recovery. No customer service!!! I called the Aveda corporate office and let them know about this situation as well, and they were none to happy. Sad that professionalism and the personal touch have been forgotten by some people . read more

I love this salon! My original hairdresser moved out of state. I thought I would never find an environment I liked and a stylist that was truly focused on what I had to say about my hair. Margaret Z is an amazing stylist. She provides a hair consultation with each visit. My hair is soft and shiney. The color is beautiful. People compliment on how natural it looks. The environment is 100% positive. Everyone is friendly. You can have a beverage during your appointment. When I leave this salon, I feel pampered ,positive, gorgeous! March 21, 2011 I have been getting my hair done by Simony at Rosebud Salon now for about a year. I was referred to her by the Aveda Store at the Providence Mall because I was looking for a more natural, earth friendly product, and a talented stylist. I had recently moved to the area, and had gone to several salons, and was not satisfied. I color my hair, and get highlights in the summer, so it is double processed which can make it very brittle, but since I have been coming to Rosebud my hair is even softer than before I got the color at any other salon. Simony has used the gloss on my hair, and it makes it shine for weeks after I leave the salon. I just saw Simony this weekend, and she put the Damage Remedy Botanical Treatment on my hair, and it was so soft, and silky that she didn't even have to put any product in my hair to style it! I get complements all the time on my hair, and yes it is worth the extra ten bucks to get your hair done here. read more

I have a wonderful experience every time i'm there, and Doreen the Owner is such a wonderful person who makes sure everyone is comfortable and her staff is well educated on the latest hair trends. I enjoy that it is a well versed environment and they are able to wonderfully style any and everyone who comes in. Simony is my hairstylist and I love the fact that she is passionate about her work and she makes sure every time I leave my chair I'm am satisfied with the results (which I always am btw). I appreciate the fact that she is truthful with me if a certain style or hair color i choose isn't going to look it's best on me.
