This has my been my to-go salon pre and post pandemic. They really have my loyalty and for many good reasons. This salon has around 8 stations s and they are not always filled with clients, two rinsing stations and offer different services which can be listed online. Many of the stylists are very kind and they have friendly banter going on~ upon entry, you are offered coffee, water or tea along with snacks if you end up there for a while~ which can be the case if you do hair colors or a complex look~ I took a journey with Mckenzie from black to blonde, to brown, to red and again blonde. She always offers realistic and hair safe options to maintain my hair healthy but also giving me what I want~ she is very kind and makes me feel comfortable with asking questions and making sure I'm ok during the whole process which for me, can take hours seated while color processes. Yes, it is on the higher end in price, but very worth the service and hospitality and hair care! Staff are LGBTQ+ friendly and very accommodating. I recommend this place to many of my friends and family. read more

Oof really do not go here. I have been twice to fix my hair dyed. Even the employees said the color didn't come out as expected. The first time the staff dying it literally said "oh wow this is more blue that I expected". Ended up going back to get it fixed since it was so uneven and somehow ended up with purple splotches all over my head (see photo). The stylist even requested I come back another day to get it fixed because she knew it wasn't good at all. I called today and was suuuuper polite. I said "your employees are all so kind but the hair didn't come out as they said it would". The owner straight up said "f*** you. Do not come back you're never allowed back here." I Was super nice and understanding but she's horrible. I even overheard her screaming at the assistants while I was initially getting my hair dyed. Woman needs some Prozac for real. It was my first time in a salon ever and I wanted to treat myself to a different experience. I walked in and was blown away at how busy it was. However the interior was beautiful, and the stylist definitely looked the part. They had well designed/cut/colored hair and unique style. I can tell this place thrives on creativity and the stylist are allowed a lot of creative freedom especially seeing the type of clients who come in. My stylist was Cassie (adorable mom and wife) and I got a cut, single process color and deep conditioner and blow out. I came in with a subtle ombre, and just wanted an overall shade lighter but somehow i think my stylist misunderstood me and now I am dark again. I love the cut, she preserved my length and knew how to work around extensions. My blowout was 7/10 It was a little messy looking. I've seen amazing blowouts from dominican salons so I am a bit critical when it comes to that. My hair felt softer, bouncy, and shiny and looks a lot better than when I went in. As a recent transplant to Rhode Island, I have been on the look out for a good salon. My overall experience at Salon Bianco was terrific and I will most definitely go back. First, on the phone I believe it was the manager hooked me up nicely with a Friday before Labor Day appointment with Nikki (sorry if I misspelled it). Nikki turned out to be a young, friendly and very thoughtful young lady. She and the owner went out of their way to make me comfortable. And the haircut, well, I am more than satisfied. I was even more excited about the price, which was also quite reasonable given the cost of womens' haircuts. I'll be scheduling a return trip soon and hope to drag a few friends along. read more

I went in for a bikini wax early on a Saturday morning, which I appreciate there were early appointments available. The salon was quiet, as most of the staff had not yet arrived. My experience with the esthetician (my apologies for not remembering her name) was friendly and appropriately chatty to help me relax. The results were good, not the best, but solid. I give it three stars because my experience with checking out was not the best. The staff person behind the front desk was distracted -- answering the phone, greeting people as they arrived for appointments, chatting with the other staff, and trying to check me out. She accidentally added an extra 0 to my $30 appointment and charged my card for $300 instead. She did reverse the $270 and all ended up working out. Yes, an honest mistake -- but one that could be avoided if she'd been paying attention. All worked out in the end and this would not prevent me from trying the salon again. read more

If you want an edgy, rocked out cut with impeccable color work that you can style down to wear to work or go all out with, go see Caitlin. I'm gonna marry this girl, fo sho. I brought in a rough sketch of the euro trash razor cut demi-mullet I wanted with a bunch of prisma-color marker swatches, and she turned my crappy dead hair into EXACTLY what I wanted. Plus, she is hilarious and adorable. Cait, please clone yourself and fly one copy out to California. For you classier broads, I watched Cait bang out long wavy layers and a retouch of a woman's badly brassed blonde in the time it took for my blue dye to set. Freaking amazing. Go to Salon Bianco. Impatient? Here's the short version: Riki is awesome. Long version: Riki has been cutting my hair for years, and I've posted reviews of her super work at her previous salons. She is consistently really great with my short, fine, and willful hair, and always makes it look good. But on top of that, it looks great as it grows! In fact, about a month after my last appointment, a random stranger complimented me on my haircut as I was walking to work. Riki always listens to my comments about my hair and has helpful suggestions when I want to make some changes. She also is understanding about my particular needs - specifically a low-maintenance but flattering haircut that can handle a bike helmet! If I could give her more than five stars I would! read more

My husband came across this salon and Jocelyn after a quick online search...I am so glad that he did! First off, he has a wicked cowlick and strange sideways growth pattern in the back of his head that I never noticed until we moved from CT to RI and he went to have his hair cut. He tried a few local stylists but no one was able to cut his hair so that it grew back without looking ridiculous! Frustrated he went back to CT for a few cuts; then he found Jocelyn and I swear he is not allowed to switch (not that he wants to). Thanks to Jocelyn his hair is back to looking normal! Fast forward to me...my schedule is packed and driving 40 minutes for a hair cut was just more than I could mange with a newborn and a business of my own. As a male customer of the salon for over a year, I enjoyed the service I received. The main reason I chose to get a $30+ hair cut vs a regular one was because I wanted a consistant hair dresser. I didn't want to explain what I wanted to be on guard the whole time I had an appointment to make sure my hair style wasn't botched... In this regard, Salon Bianco did great. However, I had four different stylists in one year! In the beginning, I would get a phone call before my appointment letting me know that I'd be seeing someone different. The last two times, I was informed of this when I showed up to the appointment. The manager/owner just casually said that they had forgotten to call to let me know. Not very polite! I'm not sure if I was treated this way because I was in the minority of male customers at this salon, and the services I got received were not "big ticket items." I would NOT go here to get a hair cut if you depend on consistency of having the same stylist, as all of the ones I had didn't seem to stay for very long! read more

I have to admit that during my encounters with Salon Bianco I was by far the most annoying and difficult I've ever been in a customer service situation. And these ladies handled me like pros. I had 4 buywithme certificates that I waited until the last minute to use (So obnoxious of me). I was trying to book 4 appointments for 2 people on a Saturday. The woman who answered the first time was incredibly nice but was not the usual receptionist and was having a difficult time getting us appointments at the same time. First off, it was booked up pretty solid (speaks to how great these ladies are) but she got us in for one appointment and another starting 45 minutes later. Which was fine. I assumed I'd hang out and chat with my friend while she got her mani/pedi (She had good things to say about her manicurist too but I'm sorry I don't know her name) and then I'd go for my facial. But the next day Janica called me back and must have moved things around because she said she could get us both in at the same time. Perfect. They totally could have left it the way it was and I wouldn't have known the difference but they went above and beyond and followed up to make our girls day a bit smoother. Since we couldn't get the 4 appointments that day I set up two more appointments for myself the following Tuesday. Now here's where I get to be more of a pain. Due to a last minute emergency I had to reschedule ON Tuesday morning. AND my stupid certificates expired on Wednesday! Janica was totally unphased. She took care of canceling my appointments off of a voicemail I left and she squeezed me in for the next day. As for the actual services. I can't say enough good things about Jaclyn. She did my facial and body scrub. She is professional and friendly and totally puts you at ease. She also does the perfect amount of pressure for a massage. The facility itself is cute and Jaclyn's room has an attached bathroom which is great because you can take your time putting yourself back together after your service. I highly recommend this salon for it's top notch service and I highly recommend Jaclyn as an estetician in particular. But you people better not start crowding this place because I want to keep going and I make last minute appointments! read more

I would give this place negative stars if I could. The worst experience of my life! I booked a bridal consultation five weeks in advance. I get a text a few days before to confirm, I confirm. The day of my appointment I get a call asking if I'd like to come in at noon instead of three, I decline because I had some stuff planned and say I'd prefer to keep my original time, the receptionist says okay see you at three and hangs up. I get a call an hour later when Im getting ready to leave the house. I am told that as of today the stylist I had booked with is no longer doing bridal and they cannot see me today but they can book me with a different stylist on a different day. YES FOUR HOURS BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT. (God only knows what happens when that stylist changes their mind.) I respect my stylist's time, I come on time and if I ever need to reschedule I give my stylist AT LEAST a week's notice. Salons charge cancellation fees for broken appointments so they have an understanding that time is valuable. The disrespect and unprofessionalism in this incident is ASTOUNDING. read more

I've had a certain stylist for over a year at another salon but unfortunately she was on leave for a bit. I had to scramble to find another stylist/salon and chose to come to Salon Bianco considering the pictures I have seen on Facebook, Instagram, etc. I did not know who any of the stylist were but chose Amy when they asked who I'd like to see (just randomly). I came to the salon and was greeted by a bubbly girl with pink hair and knew she was going to understand instantly my needs for colored hair. I recommend Amy whenever I have the opportunity. I've got wavy, sometimes unruly hair and need a style I don't have to fuss with At All. I was so excited to get in the very same day when contacting Salon Bianco. It has been over 20 years since I've had hair on my head as I shave it daily. But recently decided to try and grow my thick, dense beard out for the very first time ever. Of course when growing it, you go through the 'awkard stage" and pretty much look like a caveman. I just got my first set of eyelashes here and it was a wonderful experience! My daughter bought this for me as a birthday present and when I heard it would take 2 hours I was kind of worried. But Emily made sure I was comfortable and relaxed the entire time. My lashes lasted about 3 weeks and I got a lot of compliments on them. It is Federal Hill so parking can be tricky but there is a small off off-street lot next to them that is free most of the time. read more

Didn't love how noisy/unprofessional the staff seemed at first but it got much better. I talk all day at work so I can imagine that's what they want to do too. My massage by Bill was super professional -- it was deep tissue so it wasn't as relaxing as I would have liked it to be but I ran a 1/2 marathon 48 hours before so I can't blame him! I used a groupon-- so it was super reasonable. The best part is that they also give 20% off to repeat customers from groupon so it would be $56 if I want to book again. I came to Salon Bianco on a recommendation from a friend a year ago, and it's been one of the best decisions I have ever made! I am in real estate, and need to be professional and clean cut while still rocking my own personal style. I wear my brunette hair short with lots of volume in front and bleach it to a bright platinum blonde. Junior was able to take my hair which was overly processed and falling out from a bad experience at a different salon, and guide me through the restoration process while still giving me a great style to disguise the wreck that the other salon made out of my hair. His experience, skill, and vision for how to bring my "hair back from the dead" have been completely amazing. I have strangers on the street complement me on my hair cut and color nearly everyday, and I have actually gotten clients for my own business out of these interactions - now THAT'S a good haircut! The staff are professional but fun, the salon is cute and relaxed and fully equipped with all the product and services you need. I love that I've found my forever salon in Providence with Junior, I am a lucky girl and happy to recommend him to anyone. I go here once a month to get waxed. The staff is very friendly and welcoming! I'm always offered a coffee or tea and the wait time is never very long. My waxing sessions are always very laidback, we end up chatting the whole time and before I know it, she's done! My only complaint is the lighting in the waxing room needs to be brighter. Whoever has been giving Salon Bianco five-star ratings has obviously never had a facial there. I had a Groupon, and was eager to try a new place, as I'm new to the area, and haven't found "my spa" yet. The facial lasted around 50 minutes, and from the get-go was not up to snuff. There was no turban or towel wrap to hold your hair back, so it kept getting mixed in with all the stuff going on your face. The girl (who I later found out is not even an esthetician) giving the facial was only in the room for about half the facial. She'd turn the steam on and leave for 10 minutes, and then throw a mask on and leave for 20, instead of your customary hands/neck/foot rub during those things. So I had plenty of time to lay there and listen to the cacophony of noise coming from right outside the treatment room. When she was actually in the room working, it seemed almost like she had an aversion to touch. She'd kind of dab some stuff on my face, and then tentatively blot it off with a towel. There was nothing spa-like about any of it. I seriously thought several times about just getting up and leaving, and had I been paying full price instead of trying them out with a Groupon, I would have been livid. They might be okay with hair, but my first experience there was enough for me to be not interested in the repeat visit to find out. read more

So, I thought I'd try Jocelyn to give me a fresh look for New Years celebrations. I had seen some of her work online( friends of friends connections is brilliant) on Facebook and her men's haircuts looked really good, and she is really stylish herself. Why not give her a try! ? I was not let down! Her consult and questions were very comforting to my nerves and her shampoo and condition scalp massage was a nice added touch.
