The absolute best waxing experience I've ever had! Long-lasting, thorough, quick, and Anyssa is wonderful.

Talk about a hidden gem. I am new to Providence, and have avoided finding a new hair stylist like…read morethe plague (for a good 1.5 years now). I was timid in trusting someone new with my hair, especially since I'd been going to my old hair dresser since I was ten. I was even more apprehensive in coming in seeing tweets majority of the few reviews online were more focused on waxing and not hair cuts. A lady at work recommended this place, so I thought I should give it a try. Lisa M. cut my hair, and she was so kind and warm. The place does not look like the modern, hip hair places you find in Providence now with younger folks, but that's why I loved this place! It has people of all ages and all walks of life. BLHH is not trying to be anything other than just a feel-good hair salon. I'm also 24 years old and still felt right at home, for those who are younger and thinking it's primarily for the older groups. Also best part- I have very thick long wavy hair, and my entire wash, cut, and dry was $35 without tip - you can't beat that. I am so happy with this place, and my new short hair!

My partner who never says anything about my hair said he liked it. Now he goes with me and Al, Bianca's dad does his. Both of us are pleased. Folks there are friendly and the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. There is just one thing that makes me cringe and that is a sign on the desk requesting monetary tips.

If I could leave as ZERO star review, I would!!! I set an appointment back in August to receive a…read moreBrazilian wax. As this was my first appointment, I was trying to reach out to the water to find out what the process was at this particular location. I've had Brazilian waxing before but I wanted to confirm what her procedures were before my appointment. So I reached out and gave her a couple of calls. She didn't answer so I left a couple of voicemails asking her to return my call about a few questions that I had, and I never heard back. So I proceeded to Facebook message her at which point I received an auto reply that told me to text her. So I reached out via text and again no reply!!! Fast forward to today Nov 2 and I still haven't heard anything back from her!!! I've been working with my bank to get my money back with no luck I'm really disappointed with the way I was treated I DON'T recommend this waxer to anyone unless you're looking for a waxer who doesn't respond, and if you like to lose your money and not receive any service!!!

My Yelp Elite friend invited me to join her to have a Japanese Head Spa Treatment at One more…read moreBeauty Spa. I called a few weeks ahead to make an Express Japanese Scalp Therapy appointment for us. Two weeks later, I had to call back to reschedule the appointment. It was an easy process and there were no issues. Benefits of head spa treatment include strengthening of hair follicles, stimulating blood flow, reducing dandruff, easing headaches and tension, and cleansing of the scalp and hair. On the day of the appointment, my friend and I walked in and were directed to the treatment room. Our beds were next to each other, but there was a curtain separating us so we had privacy. We were given a robe and told the staff when ready. The employee did a deep scalp cleaning, water therapy, head massage, shoulder and neck meridian, shampooing, nourishing hair and blow dry. The treatment took about 30 minutes and I felt so relaxed after. My hair felt very clean and soft and looked more shiny and healthy. After getting dressed, I checked out, paid and tipped with my credit card which has a 3% surcharge. It would have been cool if my scalp and hair roots were analyzed using a microscope providing a detailed view of my scalp's condition like in other places, but that didn't take place here. One more Beauty Spa also offers other services like facials and I would be interested in coming back to try it.

To say I enjoyed the Scalp Head Spa treatment is an understatement--I SAVORED it. It was pure bliss for 70 minutes. Seeing my scalp magnified before and after the treatment to compare the difference was a nice touch. Monee, the owner, even capped the whole session with a cup of fragrant, complimentary herbal tea. If you prioritize self-care and love tuning out the world while being pampered, I highly recommend giving this treatment a try. I can only imagine this is how Japanese emperors and empresses were treated once upon a time, and now I, a commoner from Rhode Island, get to experience it too! :) I must have really loved it because I bought a package of three future treatments on the spot--and one gift card for my husband--at a good discount. This is the real deal. Don't fall for those salon "extended shampoo and massage" services masquerading as head spa treatments in shampoo chairs. Not even close. Go in with an open mind and enjoy this lovely experience. Highly recommended. UPDATE: I went in today for my second experience and yes, still heaven!
