I've been a member for the past 18 months. I've been through four Massage Therapists. One left on her own. Another was fired. The 3rd mesa mez & this latest one, Tara absolutely fantastic! But I can't go here any longer because they are open with limited hours & could no longer accommodate my schedule. The Therapist was willing to work with me, but the Owner kabashed the idea. The icing on the cake. My last visit on 10/29. Either the Owner eaves dropped on my private conversation with the Therapist or they broke my trust & then the Owner, Colleen called me & then sent a follow up email & attacked my character. The call was regarding an appointment that the Owner requested I change in November. I then followed up with the Massage Therapist & was advised the salon would no longer be open on Wednesdays. I advised the Therapist I could no longer be a member if this was the case. We worked it out & I was actually going to stay as a member through the Winter & reconvene in March to see if things changed & my schedule could be accommodated again. Now please note. I travel a solid 30 minutes from East Providence once per month & I was extremely happy with Tara & her Professional service.. I also did some private work at the Owner's home & wanted to reciprocate business. Not only did the Owner, Colleen call me to advise me not to talk to the Therapist, but that I was unprofessional & had questionable billing practices in the private work I have done at her home the past 3 years. What?! She got caught in a lie or eaves dropping on my private conversation & came back with a full on attack when I called her out on it. What does my private work have to do with an appointment change follow-up? Now from what I understand from the both the Owner & Therapist. The Therapists cannot set their own schedules, set appointments or bill out any services. It all has to be done through the Owner. How inefficient! As I mentioned the place is clean & beautiful & stocked with all kinds of wellness modalities, but if you don't have the clientele or open for business regularly than that is a sign of a cash flow problem. She should be hustling facials & halo therapy & hot saunas like a mad woman instead of attacking her current clientele & losing even more business. Someone else mentioned the Owner had a 'screw loose" in a previous review. That bolt & screw flew right off!

The owner was condescending and kept telling me that she should not be expected to watch my children. This made me very uncomfortable and very unwelcome. I only stayed because I love the service I get from one of the providers. This went on for a while, giving me the impression that she thinks all children misbehave. My poor child felt like she was a bad person. My child happens to be extremely well behaved and has no problem sitting in a waiting room with a book or a device. I went back this year for hair services because I wanted to try a specific stylist I heard great things about. I love my new hair stylist! She is wonderful and takes her time to do her best work. I found it very strange a couple of times when I was her last client that the owner had to stay for hours until we were finished, so she could personally cash me out. I felt like she did not trust her employees to cash out or close her business. This was confirmed this week when I made an appointment for a color and cut for both my daughter and myself. We received our hair cut but had to reschedule for the color because my stylist did not want the owner to have to hang around while we got our color. When we came back for the second appointment, my daughter went first for color. I was then told there was no time to do my color because the owner had to leave to meet someone. I was confused as to why not just give the stylist the key to lock up rather than ask a customer to come back for yet a third time for what should have been one appointment?? I also live an hour away. I called to cancel my third appointment today and said I would not be returning because I do not like the way the business is run. The girl said okay and goodbye. I find it very upsetting that a business does not trust their employees and does not care that they have inconvenienced customers. Shouldn't an apology, discount, or something have been offered for this terrible way to treat a customer? I now have to leave a wonderful stylist because of the way this business is run. I also have 3 days to find someone to do my color for an event I am attending. I have been to many salons following my past stylist and at each one she has had her own key and scheduled and cashed out her own customers on her personal phone. (Five star for the…read moreeyebrows) However when I got my lashes done there was so much glue used that I was scraping it off my cheeks and the middle of my eyelids and I figured it's fine because she discounted the price because it was not the look I wanted. I figured I'd put up with them for a couple of weeks but there are thick chunks of glue on my top waterline that are stabbing the corners of my eyes making them super raw. I have friends and family that get lash extensions and they've never had this problem. It's like buying those cheap hard lashes and not trimming the edges before you put them on. Not to mention they are unevenly placed making my eyelid looking like a Tetris game. She was very nice but also blamed me for not communicating what I wanted properly. The whole thing was rushed she never asked me what I wanted and when I tried telling her she quickly replied "oh yeah yeah I can do that" without really listening to what I was saying when we were done she said I said something completely different than what I actually said and me hating confrontation just left thinking I had to deal with because she said it was too late to have them removed. They are never too thin--just look like me a bit more refined, and are always very quick. If you are only getting your eyebrows done, you can be in and out in five minutes. They also make it much easier for me to fill them in in the morning. Priyanka is great and is always sweet to me. The four starts is because I sometimes book a specific person and then when you come in, they put you with the first one available, which is sort of irritating, but again, they all do good work.
