Being adverse to change I was so upset when my hairdresser moved. I have very thin boring hair and it's always tough to find someone who can make It fabulous. After some recommendations I ended up at Salon De Moda. And boy am I glad I did ! They are open late during the week and have Saturday appointments for those of us who have to work until five or later. My appointment was for two and I was greeted and seated right then. Why make an appointment if I have to wait ? No waiting here. The salon is super clean and very inviting. The workstations look like tool boxes and they have all kinds of neat decor. I was entertained just looking around. Onto the hair experience, I was taken care of by Tanya who is also the owner. What a lovely woman. She did a consultation first which and advised me on what to do to make My hair look full but not have to get it done all the time. I was there for an hour and a half in which my hair was cut and highlighted. This is an hour less Than I've spent at other salons. I was offered a drink which is nice when your just sitting around waiting for color to set. The other stylists are friendly also and every one that walked by said hello and chatted with me for a bit. What a great experience. I can't talk price since it differs for everyone depending on what you have done and kind of hair you have but I can tell you it was reasonable. I love my hair. I would highly recommend going there if your looking for a Hairdresser. Tanya was awesome and I will see her again but I'm sure the other stylist are just as great. I've been really going back and forth on whether or not to write this review but I feel like I should be honest just in case anyone with my hair type is thinking of coming here. This place is great, all of the ladies here are wonderful BUT, if you have thick, ethnic, curly hair, this may not be the right salon for you. In order to work with natural hair (and by natural I mean hair that's on the dry side, thick, curly, maybe a little coarse) you have to understand the hair and I don't think anyone here understands this type of hair. The last time I was there was for a color correction and I asked for a blow out. I left with my color fixed but my hair is damaged from the ionic bristles on the brush. My hair was poofy and the opposite of smooth. There was no shape to the blow out. There was no understanding why these bristles weren't good for my hair type. They thought that because they used a heat protectant spray on my hair, my natural curls would be safe. There was no oil or cream used before blowing my hair was blown out, I was put under a processor to remove moisture from my hair before the actual blow out was done. Anyone who understands natural hair knows that dry hair needs oil or a light cream and our hair should be blow dried while still damp from a towel dry and you must use a round boar brush. I wish I had a better review to leave because the women here really are wonderful but if you have natural hair, save your time and money and go to a place that understands your hair type. read more

I went to Salon de Moda for the first time yesterday and absolutely loved it. I'm super picky about hairstylists so I've been hopping around Rhode Island for about four years now but I have found my home here. I saw Kiannah and she was great. She listened to exactly what I wanted, asked questions to clarify where needed, and was overall very hospitable with me. Sadly, I have to report that I had the worst haircut in my 70 years from Janet. She is a lovely person and may do just fine with straight easy hair, but I have coarse wavy gray hair. I had been growing it out for some time and I just need a trim and a little shaping. We moved to the area recently and I decided based on the Yelp reviews to give Salon De Moda a try. The first haircut was not really satisfactory - kbut I decided to try again to see if she could make a few minor adjustments - just taking some of the length off. I walked out with a butchered head of hair. I had wanted "short long hair" and what I got was uneven short layers all over the place that will not cooperate and way too short. I will have to just let it all grow out for a while and find someone else. There is another stylist who is the owner - maybe she would have been okay but I will never go back! read more

This salon is awesome. It's very cute and trendy. All the stylists are incredibly talented and do amazing work. The price is very fair and I always come out with amazing hair. My favorite stylist is Bethany. I would recommend this salon for anyone with any type of hair. They do anything from classic styles to fun, trendy up to date styles. read more

I recently moved to Rhode Island, I have tried a few salons. I was not impressed. I came to Salon De Moda wow! Amanda took care of me have me a keratin treatment she took her time and really made sure I was happy with the result. My hair is recovering from damaged done by another "stylist" in another state. My hair has a little ways to go to get to where it was, but Amanda certainty has started it going in the right way. The staff here is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I have found my salon! I would recommend this place to everyone I know. I had to wait to get picked up by my husband. Amanda set me up in a chair. Got me a charger for my phone and made sure I was comfortable. I'm not super picky, but my hair can be difficult (it's short-ish but I have a ton of it, it's wavy in places, straight in others) and she did an awesome job. Kiannah did an awesome job on my hair! I came in with natural dark hair that on top of it had black box dye. I wanted some highlights, but I didn't have a super clear idea of what was achievable or really what I wanted. Kiannah took the time to listen to me and show me some options and I'm so happy with how it turned out! She also gave me a face framing hair cut and did not cut corners on toning my highlights until she was totally happy with the color. Down to earth staff that makes you feel very comfortable and I loved how my hair came out. I saw kiannah and she took the time before touching my hair to make sure she understood what I wanted. She had some suggestions so I got something a little different then I had planned. But I was really glad she was open and took the time to talk about options. I will definitely be back. The best hair salon! I have been going here since I was a sophomore in highschool when I would get my hair done for dances and prom and such but I was too nervous to ever color. After allowing a friend who went to beauty school Give me highlights I decided to have a professional do my roots and who other to choose than Salon de moda?? Tanya did it and I was not disappointed. It was fast and easy. I love that salon! It's a cute set up and everyone who works there is just so nice and pleasant and it's not a salon where you go and sit in silence, they are always talking to you and making you feel involved which is always nice!
