UPDATE: The owner, Shally, I saw my review and contacted me within two hours of me posting it. She was very gracious and apologetic and wanted the opportunity to fix the mistake with my lashes. I went back this morning, and I could not be happier with the outcome. These were the lashes that I thought I would have got yesterday. So glad I gave them a second chance! I'm upgrading my review from three stars to five because of the way the situation was handled. Thank you for valuing me as a client. So this review covers a couple of things. I usually go to the Smith Street location. I think I prefer that location although parking is hit or miss. I never have to wait very long and my eyebrows are always perfect! Unfortunately today I tried the temporary eyelashes as well the threading. Threading is always was just what I wanted. However, the eyelashes are absolutely horrible. I went to the hillside location because the girl does lashes wasn't at the Smith Street location. As sweet as she was, her work ended up making me look like a drag queen. I had them on a total of three hours before I ended up ripping them off. Losing my natural eyelashes in the process as well. But I was prepared for that. They were too heavy, had too much glue, are way too thick (I asked for a natural look), and they did not extend all the way from end to end of my lash line. I will continue to go back for threading but never for lashes again. Unfortunately I was warned that if I did not like them, I could not get my money back. I should've known that it was a disclaimer of the work being done. I've added a few pictures... read more

I have been coming to salon thread for yearsss. They do a really good job, i think only 2 times I wasn't completely pleased after going, but thats over a 4 year course lol. Its street parking and is never super super busy. Its small, but they offer alot of services (including microblading) all for a decent price. read more

It's always been hit or miss for me. I have been a member for over 10 years. I love it and then sometimes I hate it. I don't understand why every time I update my credit card they charge me so much. For my experience this week I had to renew my credit card and I got charged $29 because of my late payment... Understandable but before when I had to renew a credit card and it was not expired or any late payments, I would get charged in insane price. After being a little flustered of meeting to pay after being a member for so long, I felt like I was fully rushed and got cut! They made me bleed and made it seem like it was fault. she mentioned I have to keep holding my face tighter. (I can't go any tighter) I had mentioned over time I would have some scar tissue that everyone keeps opening over the years at this thread salon in the same spot from a prior injury. So why half ass it and rush when no one was in the store? Just frustrated with pain. I'm still going because conveniently it's near my home. read more

I was thrilled to see that this threading salon just opened right down the street (literally can walk there!). It beats having to go inside a crowded mall and pay for parking. While I've only been one time, I had a great experience. Eyebrows looked great and the threader was very fast and efficient. They also have a "membership" of sorts for $14.99. Unlimited threading for the month. While I'm not sure I'll need more than once a month, it's great to know I can go down any time and that it'll ultimately be cheaper than what I pay each time I go. Great offering! read more

I have to leave this place a second review because they're just that amazing. The staff I can't get over how friendly they are , so professional. It doesn't even matter who does your eyebrows there they all make sure you leave looking amazing . This place is so clean , and beautiful inside I get a nice cozy feeling . The lady who helped me out today was so nice and so gentle . I had to tip her even though I'm already the 14.99 unlimited monthly member . Please check this place out , the parking is a little bit of a hassle but so worth it . read more

I've been here dozens of times and I've only had one experience where my eyebrows didn't turn out great. That says a lot! I would highly recommend them, especially if you have thicker eyebrows. read more

Worst eyebrow job I have had. I get my eyebrows threaded all the time and I have never been in so much pain. The girl doing my eyebrows clearly did not know how to thread and caused me pain and a small cut. My eyebrows were also left un-even- one was shorter than the other. NOT happy Went back after the owner Shally reached out to me to fix my brows, she did an amazing job! I would go again and only ask for Shally- thank goodness for her! Thank you for reaching out and fixing my brows :) read more

I liked this place - I've been going here for 3+ years. They recently raised their monthly membership from $15 to $17 a month, which is crazy considering there are so many threading places in Providence that still offer a $15 membership. Once, I lost my credit card and I had to close it, so it was denied when my monthly membership needed to be charged. Because of this they charged me an extra $10 to add a new card to my file. The women who thread at this location are fine. I usually go during the weekend because that's when their best threaders are working. If you go during the week, you'll get someone with not as much experience and they'll take forever to do your eyebrows, only for them to come out uneven. Overall, I don't love this location because they don't seem to value customer loyalty. I mainly come here for convenience. Not all of the threaders are great - it's honestly a hit or miss depending on who you get. Since they raised their membership, I may start experimenting with other businesses that still offer cheaper memberships. An extra $2 isn't a lot but why come here if you can go to a better place in the area for a cheaper rate? read more

Shelly is amazing! My eyebrows and lashes have never looked so good. I just showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did it! Nice, friendly salon worth the travel for. read more

Terrible service, literally ripped out my brow follicles, (I shed a few tears). Threader did the exact opposite of what was asked. I asked just too have my eyebrows cleaned, and she threaded off a good amount of my brows, too the point both of my brows are way too skinny and completely uneven. I only came because my originally threading place was completely booked for the day. I refused to pay for their service, but the threader was not trying to refund me for her work. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I was so furious that I had to cancel my date!!! read more

The lady seemed nice but wouldn't get a wax here ever again. Very unsanitary room with filthy wax machine and poor lighting. The woman blew on the wax to cool it down and put the strips on the dirty table I was asked to sit on. Really not one to leave bad review but this was pretty bad. read more

I used to love this place. Then they started cycling the workers too much and it is often someone new. Worst of all they kept finding ways to upcharge me. First I lost my card and they charged me the old month and new month which I totally understand but added a $10 activation fee. Then my wife was sent a new card because hers expired another $10 activation fee. Now I got a card with a chip and they are telling me even though all the numbers are the same I once again have to pay a $10 fee. They just lost two subscriptions over $10. Worst business plan ever. Not to mention their best threading girl started her own business elsewhere and that many different locations have similar plans. I am gone right now and never coming back read more

Always perfect eyebrows! Ambience is great and calming. Music is beautiful and relaxing. I never thought that I would enjoy have the hair ripped from my eyebrows but when I come here I am truly relaxed! read more

Soooo happy this place opened! The ladies' skills are amazing and they're suuuper friendly. The place is clean and decorated nicley. They have a membership where they take $14.99 a month out of your acct monthly for unlimited threading...I feel like I would do it in a month-by-month basis but not commit all the time... Anyway, nice clean place with good service and great skills. read more

I've come here a total of 3 times and really enjoyed it every single time! I was new to threading and even slightly scared to try it out, but since I saw they had a Yelp special I thought why not! And I'm so glad I did! The lady who usually accommodates me is great! I grew out my eyebrows for quite some time before going just so she could shape it properly and it turned out better than I expected! It didn't hurt much at all and she took her time to really get all the hairs! Now I have a membership and can't wait to come back! read more

Don't ever get a subscription. They won't let you cancel it. My girlfriend tried calling 3 separate times to cancel her subscription and told her they'd work on it and hung up. When we drove into the place we were greeted with attitude and only one employee. This place is completely unprofessional and slow. They only have one person working at a time and no one to answer phone calls. We waited 25 minutes in the store to cancel our subscription. Be warned. read more

Had a wonderful threading there today.. It's quiet, clean, relaxing and the techs are warm and inviting. For $14.00 I got my eyebrows done perfectly and lip also. (Can't believe I'm actually admitting that!! Oh well - it happens!!) I would definitely recommend trying Thread. read more

Shelly is the best! She does my threading, eyelash extensions, and eyebrow tinting and everything she does is top notch and flawless! I trust her with everything on me. You won't be disappointed going here. Hands down the best threading place in Providence! read more

Shally is truly the best lash and brow artist in the area. I visit her every two weeks to get my lash extensions filled and my brows threaded and tinted. Shally listens to exactly what you want and all of her results look natural and amazing! My friends and family compliment my eyes and brows constantly, all thanks to Shally! read more

I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for years and have gone to salons all over the country. Thread is one of the best! The salon is comfortable, the staff is friendly and professional. They take the time to talk to you about your brows and will make suggestions for maintaining the look you want. I have been going here for close to a year and my brows look just the way I want them to when I leave. read more

I've been coming here since 2014 for my hair removal needs. The decor is lovely, the staff is friendly and the service is great. I don't trust any other place with threading my brows. I cannot speak for their eyebrow enhancement, waxing or eyelash extensions services since I have not used them. read more

Don't bother getting a facial here. Nice enough people, but the facial was OK. They apply the various cleansers, scrubs, and other face stuff over your whole face including on top of your eyelids and mouth, so you end up getting stuff in your eyes and your mouth. Then they really don't clean your face well, you are left with particles everywhere. Not worth the 30 to 60 dollars. Go elsewhere. read more

Best salon in RI. My wife visited after trying so many others in the area but this this location has amazing and very courteous service. They brought smile on my wife's face. They provide reasonably priced memberships if you are a regular salon visitor. read more

Went in to wax a bunch of stuff, but only ended up doing my armpits because the waxer was unexperienced. The upper legs, she was having trouble keeping the skin taut and reused the same pad for the whole area. I just stopped her 1/4 of the way through because it wasn't worth it. And then she did my armpits, which should have been easy as there was good growth, but nope. Also really did not seem clean -- it was like waxing on a budget. Would not recommend, though I feel bad for the girl. Go elsewhere. read more

Excellent service, I was in and out in 5 minutes. The workers are really helpful. They have $15 a month, unlimited eyebrow threading membership which you cannot beat!! I will definitely be going back soon. read more

This place is a ripoff. I have been a member for almost two years. Last summer I was traveling abroad when I lost my credit card. When I got back I went to thread and they made me pay a re activation fee even though I explained that I was out of the country. Then last week my bank cancelled my card because one of the places I used the card had been hacked. As soon as my new card was activated I went to thread and once again they demanded a reactivation fee!! My old card had been a active when they charged my account for this month. My explanation was ignored by them. As a customer for almost 2 years I find this inconsistent with business ethics. To charge fees for circumstances that a customer cannot control is not right. read more

By far the best eyebrow threading place around! I use to go to providence place mall to get my eyebrows done and to be honest, they always did a pretty mediocre job. I haven't gone back since i discovered this gem. They always do an excellent job and I always leave happy. read more

Thread is amazing. The staff who work here are friendly, professional, and definitely know what they're doing. When I arrived in RI, I didn't even know what threading was and, after going to Thread, I'll never get my eyebrows waxed again. Thread is exceptionally clean. Prices are very reasonable ($10 for an eyebrow wax and $14.99 unlimited waxing per month). Can't recommend it enough! read more

Love it here ~ they do a great job every time. Fast, right on point, good customer service.

Awesome experience! Today was my first time at Thread salon and I am very pleased and will be going back. I got my eyebrows and lip done, and used the $5 for $10 voucher from Yelp (which covered the cost of the eyebrows, the lip was $7.) My eyebrows had not been shaped in a long time (I was trying to grow their previous bad shaping out, somewhat unsuccessfully) and there was quite a bit of hair to remove. Thread has 3 threading stations. It is somewhat small but is immaculately clean and on a rainy, blustery day it was warm and comfortable as soon as I walked through the door. Their background music was very relaxing. I had no wait on an early Saturday afternoon. No problems using my voucher although it took an extra few minutes for them to process it. Gory (I'm sure the spelling is wrong, I'm sorry!) took care of me. It seemed as though she was new and they were training her, but she was amazing, gentle and precise, and made it as painless as possible. Again, I am a baby with pain, and although threading always hurts me, this was one of the more painless experiences I've had. It took her a bit longer, but she was well supervised by another employee (who spoke in the most gentle, calming, unobtrusive way) and the end result was beautiful and very clean. They are perfectionists in the best way possible. I'm not sure yet if I'll be purchasing the monthly membership--I live across town so it's a bit of a hike--but you better believe if I lived nearby I would be on that. Totally worth it. I left and immediately texted my sister to recommend this place, and I'll be doing a lot more recommending, and visiting, in the future. read more

I absolutely love this place! They have all convenient locations whether you're in Providence, Barrington or the northern end of Rhode Island in Cumberland. Every staff member is so pleasant. Their membership service is outstanding. So worth the money. Definitely a place to check out. read more

OK this is coming right from the horse's mouth, this place is the best Threading place in RI. I love the ambience of Salon Thread. They always greet me, even if they are busy. They have the best customer service and I always leave the place promising to return back, and I always do. I have been here since they are open. My eyebrows always look amazing. Their membership is so affordable, I get my eyebrows and lips done and I utilize every penny of my membership efficiently, lol. All of the employees do a great job here. You can explain them how you want your eyebrows and they will do their magic. I love this place. read more

I really wanted to give this place a good review, but after too many botched eyebrow jobs, I had to call it quits. Of the multiple times I've been there, I'd say only one of the girls was actually good, but almost everytime I called to get her, she'd be in the Worcester location. Really too bad because it's a cute shop in an accessible location, but consistency is so important to me and I don't like to waste my money not knowing how a service will turn out. read more

I used to love this place. The 15/month membership is an awesome deal. Unfortunately, I haven't been happy with the way the do my eyebrows. I went in yesterday with nice thick eyebrows and asked for a "clean up". The lady completely botched and thinned out my eyebrows. The customer service was horrible and she didn't even off an apology. I will be canceling my membership ASAP! read more

I have been a customer of Salon Thread for a little more than a year when they only had the Pawtucket location. Once the owners opened a second location in Providence it has been my second home. The $14.99 monthly membership is a no brainer. You get unlimited threading for $14.99! Can't beat that and the service is friendly, professional and exceptional! My eyebrows are shaped perfectly each time. The salon is clean and well decorated with comfortable waiting areas. The biggest plus is that the owner is in the salon and takes the time to know her customers. She's a sweetheart! read more
