They opened up promptly at 9 and we were seated as soon as we decided upon our colors after checking in. Alice provided me with my pedicure and she was attentive, detail-oriented and patient. The massage she gave me was great! I really enjoyed the overall experience. The final results aren't the best I've had but I'm still happy with pedicure. The prices were ok. I've been getting my gel manicures done here recently and the quality of the manicures has been superb. My mom tipped me off about this place, as it is where she gets her dip manicures with extensions. They last her about a month. The salon is spotless and spacious. Even on Saturdays at peak hours seems to have space to fit in a walk-in client. The nail techs are friendly and do a fantastic job. They always do 3 layers of color, which is a green flag in my book! My gels last about two weeks without a chip, and can go even a third before needing to go back in. Pricing is comparable to other salons in the area. My gels are about $35. I do not believe they charge extra for removal of prior gels. The salon doesn't give the perks that some other ones do (free paraffin, massage) but the durability of the manis and cleanliness of the shop far supersede the frills of other salons where my nails chip quickly. read more

It was Labor Day and I was in need of a manicure/pedicure and luckily they were open. It was my first time going and they were able to take me quickly. They had an overwhelming selection of polishes to choose from but I can PROMISE you they have the right color for you! I enjoy coming to VIP Nails! I am always greeted at the door with a warm welcome and a kind nudge to pick a color. The staff is very patient while you pick a color - especially with me being as indecisive as I am. The prices are a bit high, however, the honeymoon pedicure is one of the best pedicures I've ever had. The staff works magic with their hands when they massage you during this pedicure. They always ask if there's anything they can get me. I got the dip manicure today for the first time by Jerry and it was the best manicure I've ever gotten. I have been coming to VIP for some time now and just getting around to this review. I started out primarily getting pedicures and discovered that gel manicures actually keep me from biting my cuticles so I've been doing more of those. They are very busy in the weekends so unless you go first thing when they open or towards the end of the day, you will more than likely wait a bit - but they will never tell you that they always say 5 minutes even if you look around and every chair is filled...magic I guess haha. The pedicures are good, everything looks clean and they have a selection of pedicure levels to choose from - note, if you get the very basic they will try to talk you into one above it. I've only done the first two on the list. The gel manicures are great and they have a good collection of colors; however, depending upon how you get some explanation may be necessary in describing detail you might like. I had someone one time who didn't quite understand what I meant by glitter ombré or fading out so any Pinterest or googled photos help bridge that gap. I had Kimmy today and have had her before and love her attention to detail and think she does a great job. You also get a complimentary 3 minute massage from a gentleman who I presume does the massage services and he does offer lengthier massages 10+ minutes at a charge with no need to move from where you are getting nails done. Also, note they do take cards but do not allow tipping on them so bring some cash for tips otherwise there's an ATM and you might be subject to whatever ATM and bank charges you would normally get. read more

I've been going there for at least 10 years and there is no place else I ever go if I can avoid it. I moved an hour away and still drove there. I moved back to RI and have to brave the bridge, but I do it and try to plan accordingly. I was there a couple of days ago and got the pedicure with the longest foot massage possible and a shoulder massage, with Jake, all of it was perfection! Not to happy with my visit here. I went for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. They sat me down at one of the pedicure booths but didn't tell me there would be a wait or for how long. Ok fine, whatever! This is what bothers me...as my feet are soaking, the assistant decided she wanted to fix the faucet. She turns the water back on and now I am sprayed with water and sit on this water while I'm getting my feet done; but mistakes happen so I let it go. The lady doing my feet is cutting my cuticles and ends up cutting me in the process. Not a good feeling having your skin clipped off and someone putting alcohol on it, just before applying nail polish, which also contains alcohol, ouch!!! The manicure was okay, not one of my favorites though. I just hope the polish lasts 2 weeks like it's supposed to. Based on my experience though, I wanted to give them a one star. The extra star is because the lady doing my nails was really nice and I could tell she felt bad about the water and cutting incident. She had a nice sense of humor. I just had one of the worst experiences at VIP with Jake. He was so quick to finish my gel manicure he ripped the skin off off 3 of my fingers, blood kept coming out. He also didn't ask me a shape for my nails, when I asked for them to be shorter he clipped only a few of them leaving the others long. When I asked for them all to be clipped he laughed at me. All of my nails were different lengths, uneven, and different shapes. He rushed through painting them I had to rub paint off my fingers. He didn't put my nails under the light enough. And from this photo there is already an air bubble forming after I just spent an hour at your nail salon getting them done. I am so disappointed in my experience and now will need to come back to get this nail redone. I am also sure they will not last long because they were under the light for not even a full cycle of the light being on. NOT happy. read more

After leaving a disappointing pedicure appointment up the street, I walked into VIP nails, furious and on a mission: to fix my toes. Eric literally saved my feet. The person who worked on my feet prior to him cut them without asking and they were cringe worthy short. Eric fixed that by adding nail extensions in literally 10 minutes. I have been coming since the new year and have nothing but great things to say. The establishment is clean, has friendly staff and loads of different services that they provide. I am never going back to VIP nails in North Providence. I have been time and time again trying to give them second chances and every time it just keeps getting worse. This last time I got a pedicure and a manicure I had an appointment and had to wait over 25 minutes in the pedicure chair. Then I decided to do a gel manicure the pictures below features a gel manicure done five days ago. Gel manicures are supposed to last two weeks sometimes more I am so disappointed with this place they treat you like a meat market quick in and quick Out. Will never go back. I have been several times without a problem however today I was ripped off. I had a routine pedicure and less than routine. Instead of focusing on my feet (that is what a pedicure is all about) she put a little lotion on my legs and messaged legs for a minute or two but never touched feet. Then it came to the mani. She did not have to file my nails because I keep them very short. I wanted my cuticles snipped and just a clear coat of polish. Instead of soaking nails before cutting cuticles she put my fingers in a bowl for less than 1 minute after she trimmed my cuticles. She stood up while applying clear coat like she was on the run. I will not be going back. I had a scheduled appointment and when I wen in they were busy so I sat down until someone was available. If I had to describe this place in three words they would be: welcoming, clean, and meticulous! Come here if you want luxurious spa treatment at an affordable price! I've gotten three pedicures, and five gel manicures here. All experiences have been wonderful. My favorite part is the massage with a choice of essential oils (the eucalyptus is my favorite but my sister always gets lavender). You can also get paraffin wax for a little bit extra -I've gotten it a few times and it feels really good afterwards. Unfortunately I've found that their gel manicures don't last quite as long as other places. VIP is so busy that they push you along pretty quickly. I've come here many times for my nails and they do a pretty good job. Not the best I've ever had, but far from the worst. Today I had lunch next door and decided to get a chair massage. Fabulous! I came here the week they opened from Covid and they were exceptionally meticulous about social distancing and sanitizing. 110% meticulous. Nobody rushes you in and out and they did a fabulous job on my feet. I paid for the organic pedi and it was worth every dime I paid. Whether it was the scrub or the lotion or the hot wraps, they were absolutely perfect and detailed. They are all so nice and chat with you making it a great environment. The next best part was the neck and shoulder massage! It was fabulous! Fifteen minutes of massage while your feet dry and I almost fell asleep in the chair. VIP doesn't just remove polish, so I decided to get another full gel mani. The place is beautiful and seems very clean, that's for sure. I guess I felt that my technician didn't care that I was there. I wasn't really greeted by her, I was never offered anything to drink, she gave me a completely half-assed hand massage, while just looking at what other people were doing.I felt like an afterthought. Oh well, that happens, but for $30, I would expect a LITTLE more service. The back massage was fine. My biggest peeve is that she didn't paint all the way to my cuticle. I found VIP Nails I called on a Friday morning and they were able to fit me in at my desired time. I arrived 15mins early to pick my colors [I get a gel manicure and regular polish pedicure -- it takes me a while to match a regular polish (toes) to my gel color of choice (hands)] The staff insisted they could help match me and delivered! Both my mani and pedi were immaculate! I'm very particular and I appreciate the close attention and detail Danny showed my nails. I was very pleased. A girl couldn't possibly ask for a more perfect/clean color application! Minus 1 star because my fingernail cuticles were never soaked for easier and smoother removal... Ouch...?!
