I've heard great things about Hera so I gave it a try, but it wasn't good. I got a gel mani which was great (I thought), he did it just like I asked for. Didn't over cut my cuticles and was relatively quick. Unfortunately under a week later it's already chipping and peeling and looks SO sloppy. This never happens when I get manicures at my usual salon, especially well before the 2 week mark. I expect a properly done gel manicure to last 2 weeks. 6 days is just not acceptable for that service and now it looks awful. My sister came with me and also got a gel mani with another service provider and hers is actually now worse than mine. It's completely peeled off about 50% of the nails and needs to be removed or re-done. I unfortunately won't be back and I know my sister won't either. Disappointing. read more

Amazing service and spotless nail stations. I'm almost always 100% satisfied with my nails after countless visits. On the one occasion when I had polish lift, it was quickly fixed with no questions asked. The wait times are accurate which I LOVE. If they say it's a 15 minute wait, it truly is. I brought my husband and two people who work for us here today for Manicures and Pedicures. We chose the Smart spa pedicure. The chairs are wonderful- far better than a lot I've experienced. The staff are very polite and friendly. Included in the smart package is a foot and back massage. I chose 20 minutes for the foot and leg massage and 10 for the shoulder massage. I didn't realize the put you in a face forward chair for that massage. Next time I will do 10 minutes of foot and leg massage and 20 minutes of back. I really enjoyed my mani pedi and massages today. I was looking for a place for my birthday- last minute - same day apt and I found this place. They were very kind on the phone gave me all the details I needed and told me come right on in. I got there I was greeted very nicely. I wanted a pedicure and manicure, regular no gel. This place is gorgeous, the look and feel of it I enjoyed so much and the chairs you sit in for the pedicure made me feel like a queen. The service was amazing everything was amazing. My pedicure was bomb, I got the 60.00 package instead of the regular pedicure and I enjoyed it. The paint job was great, I did bang one of the toes and messed it up but my lovely lady assured me it was okay and she took care of it immediately. My nails came out cute too. I love this place so much and it's not far for me to get too. It's pretty popular in here, I saw a lot of people going in and out, men and woman. I love that. I really enjoyed it. My god, it's somehow both lumpy and overly shiny AND textured because you can see the score marks from the electric file. I have been coming here to get my eyebrow waxed for the past year since it was conveniently located next to Trader Joe's. However, I was disappointed in the service I received yesterday. The manager usually does my brows but this time another lady did mine. She ended up waxing and cutting a part of my eyebrow off. After I let her know this, she offered to fix the situation by suggesting to do the same on the other brow! Such a horrifying idea considering I have naturally thicker brows. I let her know I didn't want her touching my brows anymore because the only solution is to wait for them to grow. It almost pains me to write how awful my experience was here because it WAS my favorite place. I work in health care, currently working 7 days a week so my hands and nails have taken a beating from washing, gowning, gloving, and sanitizer usage. I finally had a few hours to myself so decided to get a full set- french Manicure cut super short until I can go back to my natural nails that were just polish, and a brow wax. It's $80 for just the nails. . Ok Wasn't busy at all. Initially they sat me 4 inches from a total stranger (so much for social distance), before they realized we were both uncomfortable. The nail tech was super aggressive with the motor file to the point I thought she was going to go right through my nail bed. The Gel/acrylic I've never used before burnt my fingers so bad under the curing light; l kept asking the Tech why it was so bad and I had to keep pulling my fingers out to tolerate it... she wouldn't respond! At one point I smudged my nail a little bit that she became clearly irate. I kept asking her to cut my nails shorter (explaining my job requires short nails) she kept getting annoyed to the point where she just stopped listening to me. It was always customary that your hands were dipped in warm Parrafin and wrapped in a warm towel...I totally understand why they're not performing that service.... Instead my hand was put into a plastic bag full of cold lotion for about a minute before she wiped off (acting very annoyed). Part of the service was always a 3 minute shoulder massage, this woman clearly did not want to touch me because my toddler has given better backrubs. When she was finished I just paid for the nails, said screw the brow wax. I ended up googling the brand to see if she was maybe using car repair gel (Brissa Sculpting Gel) only to find thats what happens when the natural nail is overly filed and the gel applied too thick.... I ended up going to Sally's to buy acrylic nail clippers, a file and tweezers and took care of it myself. I get business are struggling because of regulations and shut downs, but if I'm paying $80 PLUS tip, they should at least try to make it enjoyable so people continue to support them. read more

I am new to Rhode Island and was trying to find a new salon to get my nails done, I came across Hera Nails through a google search and they seemed to have really great reviews. Everyone here was very nice and the salon itself is clean and has a lot of positives, but unfortunately I may need to try another salon for a dip. I have gotten dip manicures for the past few years now, and the first time I came here I got a dip. The first few days it looked great, by the fifth day, the dip on my thumb was already starting to crack. I figured it might have been a fluke or an issue with my nail underneath the dip. I went back to Hera to get another dip, this time it's only been on a week and four of dipped nails are cracking and peeling. The dip should last at least four weeks in my previous experience in getting a dip. But after one week it's already cracking and chipping pretty noticeably. Unfortunately paying $40 for a dip only to have it crack and chip after a week is not worth it. read more

I just left this establishment and am shocked at the treatment. All I asked was that the young man not use the drill. He was obviously annoyed and started filing the gel polish off. I asked if he was going to soak the polish off as had been done before. I understand the concept of roughing up the polish before the remover is put on. This just annoyed him more. Whoever was at the desk was also absolutely rude when I checked out too. I left him a tip and said thank you but they were rude and ignorant. Sadly the only other time I was there they were very nice. Using the drill may work for acrylic nails but I left the last salon because they refused to not use the drill for removal and cuticles. Do not go to this nail salon. Even though the prices are cheaper than most places, it lacks in quality. The facility itself is not very clean. The selection of color is minimal. They convince me to do the honey pedi for 50.00 it was suppose to take off all the dry skin .. the water was ice cold and she put warmer water in but my feet was not in the water for five minutes to enjoy it .. I wanted a jell pedi 15.00 more for polish .. she paints the toes them massages my legs now she's done ., I give her 13.00 tip .. 78.00 later !!! She didn't even paint my toes to the nail bed and I have a small nail on my baby toe looks like she did a dot (like the size of a pen ) Get home three hours later all around my toes and heels had dry skin .. I decided to find a new nail salon because I really wasn't happy with where I was going anymore. Today, I found out I've been overpaying for mediocre manicures for years. This was the best manicure experience I have ever had. I'm so glad I decided to come here! I was so impressed with the staff, as they were all so friendly and I was greeted as soon as I opened the door. The environment was so clean and modern, and there were so many polish options! After my gel manicure was finished, I was given a neck/shoulder massage, essential oils, a hand massage, AND a paraffin dip. All for a price cheaper than my terrible salon before.
