I've been here several times and have always had a good experience. The location is convenient and right off the main road, although the salon is tucked toward the back. You'll see their sign from the road, which also advertises their special prices. Their prices are definitely more affordable than some of the larger nail salons, which I really appreciate. For me personally, this place is exactly what I'm looking for. I like to get in, get my pedicure done, and get out. I'm not really looking to spend a long time at the salon with a bunch of extra services. I just want a good, basic pedicure that gets the job done, and that's exactly what I get here. I also love their prices because they're much more affordable than some of the larger salons. I normally call ahead, and they're usually very accommodating. The salon itself is clean, the staff is very nice, and the pedicure is good. It's a basic pedicure without all the extras--no steam, extended massage, or shoulder massage--but honestly, that's perfectly fine with me. My only complaints are that they don't allow tips to be added to a credit card, so when you pay by card, they'll ask if you have cash for the tip. I always tip, but I don't love being asked because it can feel a little uncomfortable or like an expectation. I also wish the massage portion of the pedicure was a little better. It's more of a quick rub of your feet and legs rather than an actual massage. That said, you're paying less here than you would at many other salons, so I think it's important to set your expectations accordingly. If you're looking for an affordable, clean salon where you can get a basic pedicure without spending a ton of time or money, I definitely recommend it. If you're looking for a luxurious pedicure with a long, relaxing massage and lots of extras, this probably isn't the place for you. But for me, I love being able to get in and out, get the job done, and pay a great price. Overall, a solid four-star experience. read more

I been coming here for years. I tried other places due taking care of retired Veteran and staying local. Well I found the hard way not to give up a good place. This the only place I will take my retired Veteran to get his feet and nails done correctly. He tried many places. now we can both get our nails done without making two different salons appointments. Staff is friendly. Hard working . I have Hyperthyroidism and hypertension which makes my nail bed thin and split. Other place would make my nail bed worst and painful. This place have my nails looking nice and comfortable. I can play in the garden without out gloves again sometimes. read more

Meh...sorry but haven't been back for a reason. Went for mint dip nails and ended up looking like Shrek. Staff was mostly friendly but we had to wait a bit even though we'd made an appointment prior. This is pretty normal so I didn't take points for that.... it just seemed like we were rushed in the end because the shop was closing and people wanted to get home to their families (again, understandable). Overall however the job was messy, no rapport was built and the nails only lasted 2 weeks before breaking off. Went elsewhere to have these removed. read more

Wow! What a fabulous place!!! I love having my feet and toenails done, but it's been a while. Not every place gives a great experience. I was looking for a nail salon near the N. Prov. / Smithfield area with high stars. It was a last minute decision to surprise my mom just after 6pm on a Thursday. The first 3 places closed at 7:30 and couldn't take me today. One said, "Its 6:15. It's too late. Sorry." Which was fine. I was hoping someone good would be open late enough. Detail was the 4th on my list. They close at 7:00. They were happy to take us both and would have even done manicures if we had wanted. Terry waited on me. Everything was fabulous. The massage chairs were comfortable. Terry made such effort to be gentle because I was tense! Detail is owned by a brother and sister and you truly get a sense of family-owned pride here. They pay attention to the workers and the customers and you can get the sense that the people who come are regulars. I think we will have to be regulars now! read more

I love it here great prices and very personable. They remember my name and take good care of me. Sometimes I feel a tad rushed through and some bumps and edges aren't the best when this happens but if I ask for it to be fixed it will be. My suggestion ais to go during a slower part of the day and ask for Sam he's the owner and him and his wife are great. read more

I had a great first experience. Sam was very friendly, did a fantastic job on my gel manicure and was fast!

Absolutely terrible! I decided to treat my two daughters who are 15 and 16 years old and get them both a full set of acrylics before the start of school tomorrow. Our usual place was closed so we went here and really wish we hadn't! Both my girls showed a photo of what they wanted and what they got was far from that. The guy cut one of my daughters nails too short then screamed at her saying it's her fault that's what she showed him (which it is not). He told her he couldn't do what she wanted so she said "okay can you just do the French tips then" he screamed at her "I tell you no you keep asking so now I try and it will look ugly and it's your fault" she tried to explain she was just asking and is fine with just a solid color and he told her not to speak. As they were waiting for me to come back from an errand he made a comment about how I look different and am not black like they are (rude and uncalled for). He also made sure to leave before I got back to be able to even speak to him about the way he treated my kids. I myself work in a salon and I would never speak to any of my paying customers that way, teenager or not. My 15 year old left there in tears. I am absolutely appalled and will never return. I attached their goal pictures and what they actually got. read more

I'm so disappointed while as I write this review, because the staff were super friendly and were able to get me in when my usual salon was closed. I got a regular pedicure and a dip manicure. The dip started chipping and falling off 2 days after I had my nails done. I've gotten several dip manicures in the past from different salons and have never had this issue. I so badly wanted to have good results from this salon, but unfortunately it looks like I will not be going back as the quality does not compare to other options. read more

i was recommended this place by a friend so i went to try it out. i needed my nails done for graduation and i came in with a reference photo. i typically never get acrylic but i decided to - i had Sam. he cut all of my real nails off which i found strange. he didn't clean up around my nails before he just started putting the fake nail tips on my fingers. again i had the reference photo that i continuously showed him. he made my nails super square and i kept asking for them to be rounded and told me "i should have said that from the beginning". but i had the photos open! the acrylics are super thick and i woke up this morning and they hurt. they're uneven, thick and are just not what i asked for. read more

Came here based on good reviews from fellow yelpers and they were not wrong! I had to remove my shellac since my usual person was booked. I was able to walk in without an appointment, the gentleman, who I assume is the owner was very pleasant, welcomed me and directed me to Ro (hope I'm spelling it right!) who took care of me. She was very polite, very gentle, and took her time with my nails. She made sure I was more than happy with my nails and being as picky as I am I could not find a fault! The prices are very reasonable and I will definitely be back to see her in a couple of weeks. I want to try out the pedicure so I will update once I do. read more

Really wanted to leave a good review because the employees are so nice, but I can't. My friend and I went and it was just not great. They did not really clean in between customers and I am not sure if they even cleaned the tools at all. My toe chipped that night and the paint on my toes is not even. The paint was barely cleaned around my toes after the pedicure. My friend got dip on her nails and it has chipped on several fingers in less than a week. Toes have also chipped just days after. We also were there for three hours because they kept taking walk ins and having us just sit there and wait. read more

What's in a name? Everything when it comes to this place. What I love about them is their attention to detail. Ro did my nails and I couldn't be happier with the result. I honestly think this is one of the best, if not the best job I've ever had done on my nails. They do good nails however there are some things that are really annoying about being a customer. It may be acceptable to others but if you're like me, this place may not be the best for you. And it's a little bit trippy because they are honestly all so sweet & I've given them the benefit of the doubt because of it. There are literally tons of nail salons around and many places do an excellent job, but to me what's important is to be able to have a nail tech be ready for you during your scheduled appointment. I understand sometimes things happen and you have to wait a little but there is no excuse for having customers drive from wherever...on time to ensure they make their appointment on time...to have to wait longer than 15 min. You can be driving in rush hour traffic to finally arrive, to have them tell you it will be a couple minutes as they just start a manicure at the time of YOUR appt. This happens too often. I get that they need to make their money but I'm tired of it. Each time I go I am asked to use cash. One day the owner rudely walked up to me and asked me if I have cash... I finally said "I will never have cash, because I don't carry cash". I get there is a fee but don't have the option if you don't want to pay the fee.. stop pestering customers. I am done driving all the way over there on mineral springs during rush hour. And by the look of things, it seems like they have lost many customers. read more

I came here based off of the great Yelp reviews. The salon itself is rather small and my first impression was it's another hole-in-the-wall nail salon, but wow the workers are so friendly! They are all super nice and greet everyone that walks in. The woman who did my pedicure did an excellent job. I came on a Tuesday evening and it was rather busy. However I was able to walk in and get service right away. The only thing I wish this place had was a display of their prices. I don't do my nails too often and I like to see what options I have. The pedicure I got was cheap ($23) compared to most places. A mani/pedi combo is $33! Overall, I had a pleasant experience and will likely be back. read more

Wanted to get a quick pedicure before grabbing dinner in the area. We were the only ones there upon arrival - it was a rainy March night, maybe it's not pedicure season yet! We were greeted and seated very quickly. The service was friendly but I felt like my nail technician rushed the process a bit. This isn't the worst I've been to and isn't the best, but the one thing they've got going - the prices are ridiculously cheap! $23 for a pedicure and an additional $10 for a manicure. I got a pedi only, but it's def a steal. Overall, decent place that I'd go back to if I were in the area. read more

I am not a "yelper". This is the second yelp I've ever posted. The first one was of the terrible terrible nail salon I went to right before I came to Detail. I cannot day enough wonderful things about this place! First of all, they do great work! I am so happy with my pedicure and manicure. Second, this is the nicest nail salon I have ever been to in my life!! They are sooo nice! Even the owner! If they were acting, they were really good at it because I believed them. Third, and the most important. I went in here after a bad experience with a full set at another salon. I came here to have them remove the old set and put on a brand new one. Immediately my technician told me how horrible a job the previous tech did, which I agreed. He said "we cannot put a new set on. Your nails are damaged and they need to rest and grow. You can get a manicure today. Can you believe that?? Anywhere else would've gave me the new set to get some money and not care about the condition of my nails. I really appreciated that! I am definitely coming back! read more

I was sick of being miss understood by the people over at tip top so I decided to try here. I will definitely come back! They are very nice people , they did a nice job, and the staff spoke clear English so I felt like we were on the same page the entire time. The manager / owner can seem a little pushy about you returning and stuff but when an older woman came in and said she needed to be out at a certain time the manager made sure that was done for her and it wasn't by rushing her either it was genuine and friendly and they got her out at the right time for her appointment. I really liked this place! Highly recommend it! read more
