I've been a client of Petrela since 2019. I've never had a single issue with scheduling nor with services provided. My sisters and friends are also happy clients of Petrela. The salon is always super clean and the staff pleasant, the owner Helen is very sweet. Tom is my nail tech, he is phenomenal. My powder dip is always done to perfection!! *Disappointing Experience with Gel Tip extensions Nail Services* Location: Johnston, RI Date of my visit: 10/30/2024 4pm I needed two nails fixed with gel tips and polish, but the result was very disappointing. Despite requesting corrections, the issue persisted. The nail technician became defensive, raised his voice, and blamed me for allegedly changing my mind repeatedly, which I did not. I chose the gel color and let him be, but when I noticed that my 2 nails looked terrible, I requested if it was possible to make it better. While he excels at regular manicures, his gel fill and polish skills fall short. I'll be visiting another salon tomorrow to rectify the issues. Considering the $80 spent between pedicures & gel manicure, I expected better quality. *Pros:* - Good for regular manicures and pedicures. *Cons:* - Inconsistent gel tip and polish services - Poor customer service (the nail tech raised his voice unnecessary when I asked to correct the two nails that had a very thick layer of the gel product for the extension, which caused to burn when I placed in the UV gel nail dryer. Tom did my pedicure and manicure. First of all he was yawning the entire time of doing my nails. When pedicure was done I was sat At manicure area and when Tom came from the back room to do my manicure, he had so much food in his cheeks he could just about chew whatever it was in his mouth. I literally asked him if he wanted to go eat lunch he said no. I was disgusted and grossed out all at the same time. If I wasn't going somewhere for the weekend I would have walked out it was that bad! Also on same day felt my toe on my left foot feeling not great didn't think anything of it. Hence a few days later and I've been soaking it in salt and peroxide so I don't get an infection. Literally hurts to put pressure on it. Not only will I never be back again, I might call the health department and make a complaint as well. If I get an infection this place will certainly hear about it. Not a way to service your clients. If your hungry like that, next time schedule yourself a lunch break instead of looking like a squirrel storing your food! Beyond pissed right now I better not get infected! read more

This is by far my favorite nail salon. I've only been in on weekdays and it's been great. They take me right away. Only complaint is the nail techs rotate. Meaning, someone will wrap your nails, someone will trim and clean them, and another will paint, etc. which is different. But, they do a wonderful job and I have tried many places in RI. A gel manicure is $30. They do not drill the polish off your nails, they file them down and soak them which is preferred. The only thing they charge extra for is nail art. See the snow flake nail art pic below. Worth it for the holidays! Very talented staff. They also give out gift bags and complimentary lotions when you buy a gift card during the holidays. The pedicures are great and I love the massages they offer. My issue is every time I call the guy that answers says they have no appointments available. If you never have any appointments hire more people. Also they make you wear a mask when there is no state rule mandating masks. read more

Here for pedicure, watched closely how the tools were handled (I have walked out of places before) cleanliness is the most important thing then quality in my opinion. I was told dip nails were top of the line and would last longer than gel. 4 days after I got a dip powder manicure my nails started chipping and 4 nails popped off and it hasn't even been a week! Mind you this manicure is more expensive than gel. Will not be going back. read more

I've been coming to Petrela since they opened. I lived less than a mile away, so it was always convenient to just stop in on my way home from work or on a Saturday morning. They are always very pleasant, very thorough, very professional. The salon is always spotlessly clean. They pamper you the whole time, and they offer a complimentary massage and hot towel while you're waiting for your nails to dry! I just recently moved about 15 minutes away, and I have been looking for another nail salon in my new neighborhood, but I think I'll just keep coming here even though it's out of my way now. The price and the service are great! I've been going to Petrela Nails for almost 2 years now. The staff is always pleasant and very professional. They do offer a free massage which tops the mani/pedi. There is no TV which I personally like. They do have a relaxing background music which is always on. The Salon is always immaculate. I've always made an appointment and never had an issue with having to wait. Definitely one of the cleanest Salons I have ever been in. They are about $5 more compared to other Salons however I feel you get what you pay for and I'd rather spend the extra and ensure I'm going to leave there a HAPPY client. read more

I've been to salons before & this is the worst one. Over priced & low quality. They are constantly trying to upsell you. That's greedy & tacky. I had 2 different staff interchanging on my one manicure. A third staff offered a neck massage during my manicure which I just find odd. There was a lot of miscommunication too because I would ask questions & I could not understand the answers. Also, they lie about how long you have to wait to be seen. I also find it very rude when staff are speaking another language in front of you constantly. You can also hear the loud music from the adjacent business next door-hardly a calming experience! The staff are like money vultures-that's just tacky. This place is misleading and very overpriced. I would avoid at all costs. read more

My nails are not evenly filed and the tops aren't even either, they're all bumpy. I wasn't told to wash my hands after the acyrlic was put on and underneath the tip of the nails weren't clean either.
