This is an extremely strange nail salon. I went a handful of times trying to make it somehow work but the final deal breaker for me was when one of the employees harassed me unceasingly regarding my nail appointment upon my arrival. She asked if I had an appointment and I responded yes but she then proceeded to ask me several more times. I strongly suspect that it was my off-day attire that included a hoodie, baseball cap and mask that guided her non-stop barrage of questions. Understandably, I was extremely underdressed but so what, we're at a nail salon, am I required to wear my Sunday best? I can't understand the oddness of both the employees and customers of this salon. After sitting down awaiting my appointment, the customer that was being attended to by the "question asking" employee stared at me intensely. I noted that before embarking on her uncomfortable stare down, she was whispering with the employee. Of course I don't know what was said but whatever it was most certainly prompted the stare down. When my nail technician did finally appear, I guess he had overheard what transpired but elected not to chime in, informing his over zealous colleague that I did indeed have an appointment and I wasn't just sitting there awaiting the right moment to rob the place. In retrospect, I feel that if he had simply spoke up, that uncomfortable situation could have been avoided. Once he started doing my nails, he launched into this extremely awkward dialogue about how his colleague didn't recognize me and thought I was someone who wandered in off the street without an appointment. He also mentioned my attire and how they aren't accustomed to seeing me dressed that way. REALLY!!! It took me a while to fully grasp what I believe took place. I think this nail salon to be a place where only a certain type of people are welcome and anyone deemed different is not welcome and as if the staff were not unwelcoming enough, even the impolite customers who sit and stare unceasingly are odd and impolite. This is an unfriendly and unwelcoming place and I am not okay with their behavior. Not once during my handful of appointments was I even greeted when I walked in the door. I saw all the great reviews and decided to make an appointment. WORST IDEA EVER!! These are the ugliest acrylic nails I've ever had. I am SO disappointed!!! I tried voicing my concerns to Paul as he was doing my nails, but he didn't want to LISTEN and just kept making excuses as to why they looked the way they looked. Nail techs are supposed to LISTEN and do their BEST to accommodate the customer's needs. I've never had a nail tech be so adamant in not wanting to listen to my concerns and just continue to do what he thinks looks good. I've never been so unhappy with my nails. I will not be returning and I can't wait for these to grow out. read more

I came because I wanted to get a full set of acrylics for my college formal night. I'd never got them done before so I was nervous about picking a fair priced yet solid place. I did research for a few days and finally settled on Pretty Nails. Happy with my results! My pedicure was kinda sub-par with the polish... but the process was great and I honestly don't care. The color I picked wasn't really conducive to full coverage if you know what I mean. The nails came out great and I am loving my first set of acrylics. My technician was careful about making sure I liked the shape and size. I am 10 days out and they're still perfect despite enduring packing, unpacking, dishwashing, etc. I would definitely go back!! read more

$35 for a dip powder manicure I usually get UV gel but recently heard about dip manicure as a good alternative to UV gel. This salon has given me the best results so far when it comes to dip manicures. They have a ton of colors to choose from and my manicurist (wish I got her name, sorry!) was very meticulous with her technique. Unlike other dip manicures I've had where you can see the texture of the powder or the thickness of the coat was too much, the manicure I received from this salon was not that at all. It was thinned out well, dip color looked very smooth and top coat was super shiny! Loved it! The only gripe I have with this salon is (like other salons I've been to) they dip the finger into the actual pot of powder. From articles I've read online, the hygienic way of doing a dip manicure is to have a separate cup or sprinkle on the powder so the excess isn't dumped back into the same pot. I honestly haven't come across a salon that actually does this though! Fortunately (knock on wood) I haven't had any funky infections on my nails. Loved the nails that Julie did for me! She was so careful removing the acrylic tips I had on there before so we could use my natural nails for these salmon color almond shaped powder dip nails. She did such a good job making them a perfectly smooth shine on top which doesn't always happen with the powder so I was really impressed and I will def be going back here in the future! My nails came out beautiful! Best reviews in town for this place so they are definitely pleasing many people. They've even been able to get men to come in. I was here and saw 2 men get pedicures. That's awesome! My nail tech added a simple glitter ombré which was beautiful, added that little extra sparkle, and did not charge me. Prices here are great. Fast service and easy to connect with nail technicians. My only complaint is I wish they let the nails sit in the UV light a little longer, and put an extra top coat on the top. My gel nails lasted about a week before chipping but my regular polish pedicure still looks awesome! Very relaxing place to be during the week. Prices are pretty good as well and they soak your gel nails instead of drilling them off which is so much better for the nail bed. They are open on weekends but make sure you call for an appointment. Love it here, come often with the gf. They do an awesome job. Mostly women customers but if you are a man they can still hook you up. The staff is awesome, they get to know you on a first name basis & always have something to talk about. They also give some extras that aren't on the list. Before I begin my review, I have been getting gel on my natural nails or 4 years. My rating is solely on the gel manicure -- my regular toe polish change I give 5 stars. This salon is very clean, the staff is very friendly -- the staff will actually gave a conversation with you. Paul and Julie especially are very attentive to detail. I am disappointed, however, that on 2 different occurrences, with two different colors, my nails had faded and were splotchy by the next day. I'm not sure if the top coat reacts to the polish underneath, but it leads to faded, yellow splotches. The person I went with also had her bright pink nails on both occasions turn orange and yellow in places. When I brought up it was probably the top coat having a chemical reaction to the polish, I was assured this couldn't possibly be the case. Being the kind people they are, the salon offered to redo them. Sure enough, the new color I picked ended up fading the same way a few hours later. The older woman who did them was clearly in a rush, missing entire areas of my nail with the top coat. Amazingly the sections she missed did not fade, but remained the deeper blue color. I've gotten this shade before, and this has never happened at another salon. And if it wasn't the top coat, I find it hard to believe that 4 different OPI shades would all have the same fluke outcome. I also usually take my polish off myself (by buffing and wrapping like the salon) and in this salon they filed the polish off -- leaving behind weak and brittle nails underneath. Not even a week later, it's taken me 2 hours to get off 90% of the faded polish and I've had to cut all the length off of my nails. I cannot speak on the other services provided, but after 3 negative experiences unfortunately I will not be going back. Below are the before and after if the second polish I had. read more

This is a family owned business and all the employees are family. I have been coming here for years and have always been welcomed and treated very warmly like family. They treat all their customers the same way! I usually have Paul do my fill and he has always done a great job and I have been more than satisfied. I also get my pedicure's done immediately before or after my nails. I try to make an appointment a day or two in advance if possible to make sure I can get Paul for my nails. They have several different people for pedicures that are all wonderful. You will feel great when you leave here after getting your nails done or having a pedicure!!! I certainly do!! read more

It's clear that this business doesn't want any type of money what so ever. Before walking into the nail salon there is big sticker on the window that says they take walk-ins but tell me why when I go in and ask for a refill they say they can't take me mind you there was only one person waiting. Super friendly staff. Even though they didn't know how to do an Ombre look and I had to pick a different design from my Pinterest folder I was super impressed with my nails. Paul took his time and even drilled the under sides of my nails to make them smooth without being asked which even my usual salon never does. All the tools were sterilized and everything was very clean. Great choice of colors and the atmosphere was very nice. I came across this salon from reading great online reviews for salons in the area. My old salon would charge for silly little things (i.e. $5 to change my nail shape!!) so I got fed up and decided to switch. I'm a resident and student at a nearby college and due to such positive reviews, I wanted to try this place out. Over the course of a few visits, I've had a regular manicure, regular pedicure, a gel manicure, and my eyebrows waxed at Pretty Nails. I truly love this salon and it's calming atmosphere. The owners are so welcoming and they really make sure you're well accommodated. For my nails, I request Paul due to our similar taste for perfectly shaped nails. I even recommended my friend to try them out just last week and she got acrylics and plans on becoming a future customer too. Not impressed. She seemed rushed and tired. The manicurist (older woman) did a gel french manicure. The shaping was crooked & the white part did not extend to the edge of the nails. When I mentioned it, she seemed bothered by that. Usually the nails are buffed out before they apply anything.My nails were never buffed. I havent had my nails done in quite some time but I know what the procedure entails as I use to do it regularly. Anyway, I definitely will not go back there. Sloppy job. read more

After going back and forth with acrylics; I finally let my nails grow out and got my gel manicure done here. Let me tell you, my nails ALWAYS break; even when I've done gel else where. Since I've gotten my nails done here, none have broken and the color stays for weeks. No bubbles, chips, misshapen nails or anything. I do my manicures with Paul and he's a great person.
