Caitlin is an absolutely incredible hair stylist, makeup artist, and overall person in general. I first heard of her through an old neighbor of mine who had recently gotten married after I loved the way the girls looked in her wedding photos! I asked who did their hair and makeup and she led me to Caitlin at Impulse Hair Designs! Caitlin did not disappoint. I met her in her studio in Providence to get my hair colored and cut about 6 months before the wedding which was wonderful because I got to know her a little bit before the big day. She was amazing right off the bat! Super friendly, fun personality, and an amazing listener. She really wanted to know all about my family dynamics, friendships, and plans for the big day right away. She took the time to get to know me and really listen to what I envisioned for the big day. I brought my mother to my hair and makeup trial about a month before the wedding on 9/21/19 and Caitlin did not disappoint. She was extremely welcoming and made this day FUN for the both of us! She listened to me when I showed her what I wanted and to be honest... I didn't have to change anything from the trial because she was so good the first time! On the morning of the wedding, she brought a great team of 3 ladies to do our hair and makeup and they travelled over an hour to my mother's house, which was so helpful and accommodating. The stylists were friendly, calm, and did exactly what the girls asked for, making sure it was okay with me (the bride) before doing anything unexpected! I cannot recommend Caitlin highly enough for your wedding hair and makeup needs. Starting from the very beginning of the process, she was communicative and easy to work with. She gave me so much time on the day of my trial, honoring my desire to try different looks and take feedback about what I liked and didn't like, and even was willing to do another trial just so I could experience multiple options of an updo vs. a glam wave. I already loved the time I had spent with Caitlin in her salon but the energy that she and Megan brought on the morning of the wedding was more than I could have asked for. They made everyone feel so comfortable, including members of my bridal party that didn't have experience getting their hair done or felt a little awkward. So. Talented. Among many skills, Caitlin is a total whiz with hair color. She is able to flawlessly reproduce pictures, and has an excellent memory, so she remembers her clients' preferences. I made the mistake of popping in somewhere else to get my hair done, and they turned it a brassy, strawberry blonde. Then, so that I could be seen in public, I box dyed over it. Twice. Shame aside, I knew if anyone could fix my processed, brack colored hair it was Caitlin. Low and behold, she came to my rescue! I first met Caitlin at my friend's wedding back in 2018. I was a bridesmaid and she did my hair and makeup. At the time I was newly engaged and I knew I wanted her to be the one to do the hair and makeup at my wedding too! At my friend's wedding I showed her some pictures and also described what I wanted. My hair turned out even better than I could have imagined! During the makeup process she would show me during different parts of her process to make sure it was what I wanted. We also went with airbrush which I would highly recommend. My friend's wedding was in the middle of August and I was running around like a madman trying to make sure everything was going smoothly. Even though I was sweating my makeup was still PERFECT at the end of the night. There was no doubt in my mind after that day I needed her for my wedding. My hair was extremely broken and damaged from a combination of a few bad appointments elsewhere and from me trying to fix those appointments so I went in for a consult to see if I could benefit from extensions until my hair grows. She spent the time going through everything and explaining it all. I purchased the extensions (she gave me the colors info) and had my appointment today. She colored my regrowth a little so that it would blend perfectly with the extensions and it did. She literally explained EVERYTHING I may need to know with the aftercare of them and even stuff to expect that I wouldn't have thought of. She was professional and had an amazing personality. I'm a licensed cosmetologist and she's the first person that has done my hair in 13 years where I have left 100% happy and have not had to go straight home to redo it.
