I've read some great things about Thunderbolt Pizza and finally decided to give it a try. I ordered…read morea whole hot honey pepperoni pizza online and it took about 30 minutes to prepare. When I got the pizza, I noticed that parts of the edges and crust were burnt. Aside from that, the pizza itself tasted good. The hot honey really stood out, adding a nice sweet and spicy flavor that made the pizza very flavorful. I enjoyed the combination of the pepperoni and hot honey and I could really taste the honey in every bite. I was looking forward to trying this place after hearing so many good things, so I was disappointed with the burnt parts of the crust. While I enjoyed the flavor of the pizza, the burnt edges took away from the overall experience. I'm not sure if I'll return, but I'd be willing to give it another chance if the pizza is prepared better next time.

When in actuality it came with maybe 4 tiny small 1" slivers of pickled onion, maybe 4 slices of radish, and a few shreds of carrots. Cucumber? Didn't see it. The shaved gouda was minuscule, but oddly more than the carrots. The gem lettuce was large & fresh and perfect, but still. $19? I hesitated buying it cuz.. money, yeah. But I was splurging for once. Also, the to-go box was like 1/2 filled, so portion size not even worth half the price. The dressing was wonderful, the side of dilly sauce tasty, and the side of pizza sauce delish. The "To Dye For" pizza was good. A little rich for my taste, but others would enjoy all the creamy burratta and other cheeses. Would have liked to tasted the pink/vodka sauce a bit more, but it's ok as again, others might prefer it less wet. And, heck, the crust is - AS ALWAYS - amazing. So good. Cooked to perfection as well.

Buffalo Bill had that perfect spicy, tangy buffalo flavor with the vinegar acidity you want from a good buffalo sauce. If you like heat, definitely try it. Night of the Chicken Dead was creamy, garlicky, and loaded with chicken. We also tried a few of their non-traditional cocktails and the deep-fried cinnamon balls for dessert. The cinnamon balls have a warmer spice profile with noticeable nutmeg/allspice flavors. The atmosphere is basically punk-rock bar meets horror pizzeria, and that's part of the charm. Stickers and artwork everywhere, loud punk music, cocktails, pizza and a very casual downtown Long Beach vibe. Just know that the music is LOUD, and the restaurant can run a little warm during summer with the pizza ovens going. First-timer tip: When you walk in, get in line first. That's where you order both your food and cocktails. Seating at the tables and barstools is first come, first served. Great spot if you like horror, punk rock, good pizza and places with some personality.

We left and won't be coming back again. I guess we're not metal enough. Also, about 20 full size pizzas came out of the kitchen while we waited. Punk visuals, capitalist values. Not a big deal though as my taste buds prefer beer with pizza ... Anyway, I'll start with parking. Metered street parking or you can do laps until you find a spot on the residential side streets that I believe are free without restrictions. If there are signs, I don't know because I chose to park in a metered space and managed time via the app (Passport Parking). Service was great. The team - I say team because several staff members were on the floor and they worked together with orders, following up and even changing the games on a TV for me so I was craning my neck to watch. Appreciated it big time. Then the food - I liked it but didn't love it. Here's my take - it was bready or doughy but I prefer more flaky. The sauce for me I like sweeter - but on that it's probably because I'm used to sauce being covered by cheese and toppings. But I did like it. I'd go back and have it again. I just have to get it out of my head that every place is different and going in with expectations thinking I was gonna have what I had when in Chicago is on me. It's an open restaurant with communal seating (bar height) in the middle with lower tables on the outside, speaking of - a few tables outside as well. TVs all around.
