Stox is an old school diner offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner with comfort foods. It has an old school diner vibe to the place. Service is great fast, friendly, and helpful. Prices are reasonable too. If you are looking for an old school American diner vibe this is a great place to go.

Had a weekday breakfast here. Your normal relaxed diner vibes. Had the ham steak breakfast special. Came out as you'd expect - and do appreciate the ham wasn't super salty (which I feel happens at some diners). Would def come back (again)!

I have the most amazing neighbors, I'm truly blessed. Today they offered to share a pie with me from STOX and it was absolute heaven. It was a strawberry cream cheese pie. Hopefully I got the name of it right? The inside had a cream cheese custard without the usual thickness, & density that most cream cheese desserts have. If you want to opt for something lighter, while longing for that cream cheese flavor; this is a great alternative. It was topped with chunky strawberries and a fresh whipped cream. This is the second time I get the honor of tasting something from their bakery and I'm never disappointed.

Three carne asada tacos med rare w fresh guacamole.

From start to finish of my visit, I was pleasantly surprised. I came in on a night in which I thought all places had "Taco Tuesday" but not here. Here's the kicker... Angela my server was nice enough to offer a 3-taco plate although it wasn't offered on menu. Three carne asada tacos w the absolute freshest guacamole and heartiest portion of beef (Medium rare). Food was amazing, service was even better and the environment which seemed to be made up of locals (due to the camaraderie) was awesome. This definitely a place a will be returning to for good food, great company and awesome service!

    Over cooked prime rib

We drive 30 minutes to try this place out. My friend wanted to go for her birthday.. it was very disappointing . We both got the prime rib dinner. Asked for medium rare. Both very over cooked. Tasted horrible. The corn on the cob was old. Looked like it had been sitting out all day. This place was a waste of time and money. Avoid this place. It's not worth it

Old style diner that serves breakfast and diner food. Got the Cuban pork and ham panini, served with a dill pickle and choice of side:I got potato salad. Good crunch on the bread. Melted cheese plus sweet mustard. My companions got the half daily sandwich (pulled pork dip) with rice and chicken soup in a cup and the Stox hamburger special. All sandwiches were well made. Very personable waitress Maria, she can often to check on drinks and refills for coffee ( I had two cups late afternoon!). Quite empty dining room this afternoon. The place closes by 8 pm. There is a connecting bar that stays open later and also serves the entire menu if you're looking for food. I took a peek in the bar and there was a sizable crowd at just a little past 4pm! Looks like they have a number of regulars. Took home several miniature pies : banana cream, lemon cream, blueberry cheesecake, cookies and a brownie.

Venue: beautiful, clean, and spacious with plenty of seating for families and friends to gather comfortably. It's conveniently located inside a shopping center with lots of parking available, which made our visit even easier. Ambiance: We absolutely loved the ambiance! The mariachi music playing in the background truly brought the whole experience together and perfectly represented the spirit and name of the location. Food: everything was fresh, delicious, and perfectly balanced in flavor without being overly sweet. We ordered the chocolate croissant, Abuelita's rosca, elote fino, and a fried pulled pork empanada with green sauce. Every item was flavorful and satisfying. The café de olla was warm, comforting, and just the right amount of sweet. Overall, my family and I had a wonderful experience and truly enjoyed our visit. We will definitely be returning for more pan dulce, delicious food, and maybe even try one of the cold brews next time. Highly recommend!

I was recently recommended to come here to look for tamales, and I'm so glad I did. The store may look a little older and worn, but don't let that deter you, the quality is great. If you're looking for great Mexican bread and pastries, this is definitely the place. However, on Mother's Day (May 10th), I decided to try their menudo for the first time and purchased 3 orders. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The menudo was extremely bland and seemed to be missing basic seasoning like salt and oregano. Normally, bland food can be fixed at home with a few spices, but the bigger issue was the large amount of grasa (grease/fat) in the caldo. The grease was very dense and excessive. I tried removing as much as possible, but there was still too much. In fact, I had to serve my mother the menudo without the broth because of how greasy it was. My recommendation: stick to the bread -- it's great. As for the menudo, maybe this was just a one-off experience, so others may want to give it a try for themselves. I personally hope they improve the recipe because it's difficult finding a good Sunday morning menudo spot in the Downey area.

After requesting to place an order for a cake I would need the next day the staff was more than happy to accept my order. Originally, I would have liked to order a carrot cake but those cakes need to be ordered at least a week in advance so that was very much my fault. I ended up going with a classic tres leches cake which tasted wonderful. Miriam was the one to help me out. Bonus points for having the same name ;) Miriam made great detailed questions to make sure the cake was exactly what I wanted it to be referencing off a picture I had showed her as inspiration. From size all the way down to the smallest details, Miriam disclosed information about how certain designs or details I wanted would change the presentation of the cake, and made sure I was delightlfuly satisfied with what would be the result. She broke down every last detail including how the icing would likely stain our mouths and very nicely reassured me that it would rise right off with water swishes. Overall I was incredibly satisfied with the service I was given, and I greatly appreciate how Miriam thought about every question in order to complete my desired vision.

Once I found out there was going to be a Kuromi themed collab here I had sure to mark my calendar,…read moreso I've been looking forward to this! The collab started today and will last until the 31st. The store opens at 7am , but even though I got there around 8:30 and there was no line they still managed to sell out of a majority of the limited edition Kuromi themed pastries. Which was a little heart breaking, but also understandable. I ended up ordering the Kuromi Berry lemonade and some of their more popular items like the D Tia Blue (blueberry/cream cheese filled pastry) and the Japanini. Everything hit the spot as expected, but the highlight of my visit was definitely that berry lemonade! It had the perfect sweet to sour ratio and it looked very whimsical with its purple hue. I'll definitely be back to order that again and maybe I'll have better luck next time with the availability of the limited edition pastries. It wasn't as busy as it typically gets so took advantage of the opportunity and I dined in. During my visit I adored the Kuromi decor around the story. It was definitely picture worthy. They also have the cutest merch available for sale and of course I bought a sticker sheet to add to my sticker collection. The workers also wore pretty purple Kuromi hats and aprons, which is also included in their merch for sale fyi.
