Every time I have to pick up or drop off a vehicle, the calls get answered right away and I am informed of pick up or drop off times which are always convenient for me. I stored my car here for four months, and have both positive and negative feedback. This is *not* the cheapest option in the area, but it's a very nice facility and the owners are kind and generally onsite during business hours. When I went to drop my car off and my airport shuttle was late, the staff was very accommodating. They even gave me a tour of the facility and didn't seem to mind me camped out with my luggage in the lobby for 30 mins. Once I was out of country and my car was fully in their hands, I had a couple less-than-awesome experiences. First, they raised their rate while I was away. Second, when I let them know I needed to extend by a week and a half, suddenly my car was having "battery issues" (on a brand-new battery that was literally bought and installed weeks before dropping it off). Part of the package purchased involved them starting my car regularly to avoid any legitimate battery or electrical problems...(at an additional cost)... But since I was thousands of miles away and needed my car in working order, I went ahead and let them tack on the extra fee to "slow charge" the battery before my return. When I confirmed my pick-up details with a rep, she forgot to give me the correct lock box details in her e-mail. I had a late night flight and knew I would not be able to arrive when a person was physically onsite, so this was a bit of an annoyance - but not the end of the world since I was able to get a manager on the phone at that late hour with instructions to buzz myself into the gate. After picking my car up and letting them know I would not be needing it stored again via phone (apparently some people just keep a space rented endlessly), I was surprised to see them bill me for another month's rent a couple weeks later. I had to correct them on this mistake for the auto-bill cycle to end and the money to be refunded. They were polite enough, but just a note that you may want to make it abundantly clear upon check-out that you want billing to stop. It's also true that they do not do any partial monthly rents; you either pay for the whole month or you pick your car up on an earlier day to avoid it. This did snag me, since I had to return a week over a billing cycle. Overall, I think this facility and its staff are better than average - but they have a lot of extra fees to tack on for that peace of mind, and you cannot necessarily count on your rate staying the same or your auto-bill cycle stopping unless you are very loud about it. read more

This isn't just any old vehicle to me - its sentimental value is inestimable - and taking a tour of the storage facility and getting to know the staff convinced me this was the right place. Clean, secure and accommodating, everything I was looking for. I was quoted $144/month for a vehicle under 14 ft long, with an extra $10/mo for putting it on a (customer-supplied) battery tender. Discounts up to 8% total were offered for quarterly prepayment and payment by cash/check. 6 hours notice gets my car moved to a gated outdoor pickup/dropoff area secured by access code & biometrics, accessible by me 24x7. Extra services such as periodic drivearound, detailing and vehicle maintenance can be arranged (not included in storage price). read more

HEADLINE: Very professional, highly secure, extraordinarily service oriented storage operation for your daily driver or your prized collectible. I've been using these guys for more than a year now having purchased several vintage BMW E30 M3's from around the world and having no place to store them. I'm currently circulating five vehicles through three 14 foot storage bays up at their Ames Avenue location near 680 in Milpitas. I believe the value to be extraordinary ... each bay costs about $140 a month, less a 5% pre pay discount offered for a three month commitment, and a $10 a month surcharge for electric for the battery tenders I have each vehicle hooked up to. If you're storing a vehicle for any length of time, these tenders are CHEAP insurance, versus having to shell out $300 for a new battery to replace the dead one that won't take another charge. The environment inside the warehouse is very neutral ... not too hot in Summer, nor too cold or damp during Winter ... perfect conditions for long term storage of your car / boat / RV / whatever. I store all my cars under car covers, but the space is actually well maintained and quite clean. The security for the facility at Ames is quite high tech. Fingerprint recognition is required to just access the paddock area where you can drop off and pick up your vehicle(s). No access whatsoever is allowed within the warehouse itself ... believe me, I've tried. It's secure. And most comforting for a collector with a sizable investment entrusted to this operation. And, indeed, collectors do trust these guys. Just this afternoon, I was swapping out a car in advance of the July 4th weekend and inside the paddock area? A vintage (1966), genuine Shelby GT 350 Mustang fastback and a vintage (1968) Camaro RS. Both in tip top shape ... so if these guys entrust their precious toys, I think that's a pretty good recommendation right there. Their hours of operation are from 10 - 5 Monday through Saturday and they're closed Sundays. They ask for about a six hour lead time to extract you vehicle(s) from storage and bring them to the paddock area outside. I was told today that the Ames facility (one of three that they currently operate) is at capacity ... another barometer of customer satisfaction and value for dollar, if you ask me. Their real hallmark, though, is customer satisfaction. They have bent over backwards on several occasions for me over the past year ... always with a smile and never with an attitude. They actually treat you like a valued customer. Refreshing. OK, its not the over-the-top high-end ambiance of those car 'condominiums' down at Club Auto Sport in San Jose ... but I'd rather this place anytime for my cars based on incredibly better value for dollar. I'm a big proponent of Store Inside, and my investment entrusted to them is all you need to know. read more

These guys are great. I stored my semi-vintage car with them for a year while I was living overseas. Their facilities and processes are excellent. There is this combination of modern high-tech facility, security, and billing systems with a personal caring approach you get from a mom and pop operation. The optional add-on services are flexible; customer service is friendly, laid back, and professional. They respond to emails and calls very quickly and go out of their way to give you a piece of mind. There were a couple of billing glitches, but they were swiftly resolved as soon as I brought it up. After 13 months of storage my car was clean, tires were inflated, and it started like a champ. My only concern is that they are a bit hard to get to without a car. The nearest public transport is the Fremont BART station and it's a pricey cab ride away. Would be nice if they had a complimentary shuttle service of some sort. read more

She was quick to respond to our initial inquiry and gave us a tour. She's continued to be helpful in any questions we have and is prompt to confirm whenever we set a date to take our RV out. My car was in the exact same shape as when I dropped it off & has been running smoothly ever since I picked it up two months ago. I did add-on the monthly "drive around" service & I believe it was well worth the money spent to keep my car up & running. My car battery died while in storage (as I was expecting it to since it was 5 years old). Store Inside notified me & I was able to purchase a new battery from them & they replaced it for me! We stored our car here for about two years while we were overseas. During that time, we occasionally picked it up and used it during trips back to San Francisco. Our storage included keeping the trickle charger connected and them driving the car from time to time to keep the tires moving. Store Inside provided excellent customer service during our entire stay. They were always super responsive to emails, handy when you are communicating from overseas. Our car was always ready and waiting for very early morning pick-ups we requested. We had a tire that was losing air while stored. They topped up the air and let us know they were monitoring it. The next month, the air had leaked again so they let us know. They gave us the option to take it to their repair place to get it fixed at a cost of $60/hr plus repair/replacement costs. We agreed and were very happy that the tire was repaired (nail in the tire) for our return and they did not even charge a whole hour of labor for taking care of it. I would trust them with any car and we've only removed our car since we are living in Marin and Milpitas is too far for us now. If they opened a place north of the Golden Gate bridge I would store our car with them again in a heartbeat! read more

Hello Everyone! If you are limited on where you can store your boat, car, rv or motorcycle call this place please. I have a motorcycle and needed immediate storage for it. I went to this place on a Saturday and told them my situation. Unfortunately the manager wasn't in to determine if another vehicle can fit " there's a waiting list call ahead" and they told me they would do the best they could to try to help me and I went home. I was laying in bed contemplating where I'm going to put my bike tonight and I started to stress. Not even 1 hr later the VERY nice lady behind the counter called me and told me that they can take my bike and TODAY! Needless to say I was jumping up and down like a kid at Christmas time. They went out of there way to get a hold of manager and get the okay, even on a day where they aren't open for that. BIG weight off my shoulders. I now know my bike is indoors, away from rain and sun and wind and other things. There security is awesome, that bike is not going anywhere, I cant tell you what a relief that is to know its that secure and that I can pick it up and drop it of anytime when I'm ready. Each customer will have different needs, and they're happy to accomodate based on your particular situation. Their warehouse is large and well kept. It's clean with a very high ceiling to help keep temperatures balanced. Drive-in and drive-out is easy as well -- they just need six hours' notice. Excellent storage place for a nice vehicle. Vehicles are grouped inside a locked-down hanger-like building in good vehicle company (Lambos, Ferraris, Vipers), and when you want yours, you just call ahead, and they drive it out and put in the secure fenced yard, ready for the time you want it. Security: Tall, barbed fences, *good* cameras (full coverage, not the crappy $50 ones that only look at certain parts of an entrance), secure access to the yard when picking up, staff is attentive, good enough part of town. Value: Excellent price per month, versus the $250+/month that would be looking at a U-Haul type of self-storage vehicle garage. Outcome/service: Excellent. I am an international customer, who was unfamiliar with the area. This facility was recommended by my college buddy who lives nearby--this is where he and is friends keep all their nice vehicles. I purchased car in California, stored the car for 6 months at Store Inside, before shipping it to its new home. Took the electricity trickle-charger option...after 6 months of storage, car was clean as it was when it went in, and started right up, and into the enclosed transport to take it home. I had to store my 71 Firebird here for a couple of months while I moved across country. I was nervous about leaving the car because it's like family. I was immediately put at ease by the staff and given a tour. The drive around service was explained to me as well as the battery service. I did not have a battery tender and I bought one from StoreInside. You can probably get one cheaper but for me it was worth it. When it came time to drop it off and for the initial inspection my concerns were put at ease again. The staff really do respect your cars. I was confident that my car was not going to be abused in any way and would be well cared for. When it came time to have it shipped the staff again was there every step of the way to make sure it was safly on the carrier. I wouldn't hesitate to store another car here. I kept my RV here for over a year. They are so friendly, and the service is great. All it takes is an email and 4 hours notice (when they are open, of course) to pick up your RV. They'll even fill up your fresh water and top off the tire pressure free of charge. When you get back home, you just park it in the secure lot, and they'll put it away for you. My RV would still be there, but we bought a house that has RV parking. I'm going to miss Store Inside when I'm struggling to put the cover on my RV on a windy day! read more

Just be advised that they have a very unfriendly billing policy.- They do not bill for partial-month storage at the end of the contract, only the beginning. So if you drop off on May 25th and pick it up on August 30th, you will be charged one full month at the end. read more

I stored my 60K Custom made Sleekcraft here for two months. I parked it with two blocks under the stand for the correct height. Picked it up and found only one block and could not get high enough to get on my hitch, in the dark, by myself. They backed boat uphill into spot wihout locking out surge brakes. Surge breaks were damaged. Dropped off boat again and put zip tie on brake lockout so it would be impossible for a stupid person to do the same thing again without cutting the zip tie. Stupid person assumed zip tie had something to do with hitch ball and did not properly secure hitch. Dropped my boat and dented front bumper as well as scratching both sides of boat front. Woman on the phone said "we had trouble moving the boat because your hitch is bad". The hitch is new and I just towed the boat 1000 miles to AZ and back with no problems. They tried to blame the hitch so they wouldn't have to pay for the damage. Incompetent people working at this place that only know simple boat trailers. I wouldn't let them touch a Canoe. You have been warned. read more

I had two cars stored there during an overseas work assignment. I opted for the drive around service and returning after one year the cars were in perfect working order and looked almost as good as when I left them (just a bit more dusty). The crew there are really helpful and did their best to fulfill any special requests. The only downside is having to give a few hours notice when you want to take out a car. read more

The people here, and the owners are pretty much always at the front desk working with attention to you when you arrive, they absolutely know RV's (recreational vehicles,) they have a very large facility for storing large motor homes and other vehicles when you're not using them. The thing is if you have a new motor vehicle that needs storage, this place keeps the sheen on it and some other things that will tell you about the extra care and attention to detail, customer service dedication and service quality here. In addition to the family motor home, you can store your "rich man's" or "poor man's" ferrari here, or anything on tyres that's of value to you, and this place will keep it looking brand new, spiffy, clean, etc., and there are fees, of course, and you have to rent space and let them run their own garage and the like; and they're experts at this sort of thing.
