First and foremost, if you're coming here to rent a unit... DON'T. The manager is a useless lady who is never around and when she is around, it's around the time when no one is at the facility. She is always hiding out in the room that she lives in, on the premise. She is NEVER at the front desk and you can never reach her. The most useless manager ever to exist. Secondly, I've been here for six years and throughout the six years, they've raised our rent every six months. It's fucking stupid. I suggest going somewhere else where you are valued as a customer because even the senior renters are price gouged. read more

BEWARE, look elsewhere. They significantly raise the rates, not once, but MULTIPLE times. We just got notified that our rate will be increased AGAIN...now costing more than $250 for a 5'x10' space. Definitely going to move out and store elsewhere. read more

Terrible company. Raises rents without authorization. Signed up for $109 per month & 14 months later being charged $262 on auto-pay. Workers are not on site to answer questions & offer assistance. First off its a storage facility... Keep your expectations low, they store stuff. That being said, I called in to the 877 number to reserve a space. I thought everything was good, till I got there and they couldn't find the reservation... but the person at the desk was able to assist and get us the unit I thought I reserved but didn't... within about 45 mins we were able to have a unit to put our stuff. BEWARE OF THE PUBLIC STORAGE BAIT AND SWITCH! My introductory rate was increased after 6 months (23%) then again 6 months later (24%) and every 12 months after that (even during the Pandemic). My rate was increased by 144% over a 4 year period ($463 a month increase!). The only solution from management was that I should move. So I did. Cut my rate over 50%. Now I could rent my old unit for $300 less a month. This is a stupid business model. This is an unregulated business that expects you to live through the rate increases because you don't have time to move. Be prepared to move. Public Storage does not care about their clients. read more

Break in warning. Arrived to find that a new lock was put on our unit. Property manager, Angel, said the type of lock was not allowed but wouldn't let us cut it or we would be evicted. She said we had to wait until Monday for her district manager. We had to call a locksmith that cost $80 to open the unit. After an hour, we got a locksmith. Someone broke in, stole items, changed the lock. Now we have to pay for a new lock. Management was completely unhelpful. Go somewhere else. read more

I'm editing my review because after this bad experience I visited again the office when I was moving out. This time the manager and another assistant. They were very friendly and helpful and were very apologized by our last experience. I'm giving 4 stars to reflect this. This rating is for the lady at the front desk. She was very rude and acting as if we were asking a favor instead of treating us like customers. I really recommend the company to put someone else there because she is giving a very bad impression of the company. The space we rented was just what we needed and it was at a good price, despite the mandatory insurance and the lock they basically force you to buy. But the overall experience was bad thanks to the lady mentioned. read more

Update: 01/17/2015. Before 8-12 months was up, the rental on our storage went up $150 plus, WTH! Monitor your online special. These guys are sneaky and greedy. If it wasn't such a hassle we would store else where. We rent a unit here. Giving it 2 stars for the price we pay, *NOTE* go to the Public Storage website for better pricing, they will not give you the special rate from the office. The price is the only thing keeping us here. Cons: Hours are crappy 8.30am-6pm access 7 days, had we been aware of this would have rented else where with reasonable access hours (people work). They claim to have security cams, well did when we rented, there are ZERO security cameras and no monitors in the office, hence you need your own mandatory insurance as they obviously have no clue who is in and out or who might hop the fence at their facility, fencing is not that secure and you can see a long the barb wire tops it has been climbed over. They keep the bathroom locked, you have to go to the office to get the key, if they're not there (which they're usually not)......let's hope you can hold tight. They're not rude, but they're not exactly polite either. I would say effortless and lazy. Should it ever rain again in Nthn Cal, do not get a unit near the end towards Dempsey Rd, if there were a heavy rain I would say the unit would most likely flood. *This was typed on tiny little sensitive keys just for you.* :) read more

The disgraceful service provided to my wife this weekend by Nicole, a front desk rep, has us now stuck in a locker exposed to the elements when we specifically requested a climate controlled one in our booking. She claimed that her sales pitch to my wife for the one she substituted - "it's outside access" meant that it was somehow obvious that it would not have climate control. Sure, Nicole, if you work in the business. My house has outside access and climate control as well. This was not obvious and the move the another facility for the climate control that we have to have for our goods will set us back at least $1k and a day of work. For the future the difference between "customer service" and " I do the bare minimum" is making sure your customer understands what you're selling. I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

Public Storage is a scam. I rented a 10x15 storage unit on 8/17/11 and a couple days later the units went on sale. They were $30.00 cheaper. So I called Public Storage and asked if they can match the sale price and they simple said; that's too bad. WE are in a reccession, and they can't be reasonable. This is the last time I will ever rent from this place. They also have VERY poor customer service. read more

Showed me 3 different units as I was not satisfied with the first one, then the second couldn't lock properly at the time, but she was very patient the whole time. Then came check out time a year later as I no longer need a storage unit. There was a system glitch and it was over charging me for my 1-day prorated amount, once again she was very patient, and made a phone call for help. In the end she resolved the problem for me. read more

The storage unit itswlf is much like most storage units. There is good security and an onsite property manager which makes it a bit better. The onsote property manager, Angel is why this is 5 stars. She is courteous and professional, and takes good care of the facilities. She made my checking in process and moving into my new unit easier than any other storage company, even other Public Storage facilities. I would highly recommend Dempsey Public Storage for the San Jose/Milpotas area. read more

We got this place last year. The price is some what overpriced but it's close to home. I am only giving this a one star because the lady there (not sure of her name) was extremely rude. They said we had until 6 in the storage but we were there at 550 looking for something and she kept saying she's going to lock the door in one minute which would be 551. After a few months here, they are raising their rates 20% (over $50 per month). They said that they will raise them 10-15% every year while mine were raised 20%. There are better alternatives out there that will not raise their prices 20% after such a short time. read more

Not to mention That they force you to pay the insurance and lock and this and that OMG I shouldn't never come here... So disappointed... I rented a storage unit from this place thinking they follow the law, however I went to and from my storage unit several times and noticed that homeless people are living out of the storage units. When I went to tell the staff they were talking to the homeless about the restrooms acknowledging that homeless live there, now on to my storage which I had a hard time unlocking. Once the lock came off the door mechanism fell completely off to the ground like it had been tampered with. The staff at public storage do not have tools to fix it themselves, luckily I had the tools available in my car. Upon fixing their door I went to put the lock on and the key broke. The actual manager only goes once per week, so now there is no way into my storage unit for several days. Do not botger renting here. read more

Came to my unit in this property. Only took me 10mins ti get my stuff and my unit won't close.I was knocking on the window (ANGEL is on the property) just to ask for maintenance to help me close my unit. Coz it was raining outside and never open the door on me. I understand she's on her lunch break but customer is in the rain and she don't even know what's going on. Didn't bother to ask just because she's on her lunch break. Getting my stuff out ASAP!!! read more

Awesome service. I went online to reserve a space but knew I might have issues arriving at the location to sign documents. Judy called me immediately after I pushed the button to submit and we scheduled a time. As I thought traffic on the 237 held me up so I'd have to wait until the weekend to move-in. Judy called me a half hour prior to my appointment, estimated how long it would take me to arrive and said she would wait. I was so happy to keep my move-in schedule by her waiting. My unit is easy to get to and I got a great monthly deal. I would definitely recommend this location. Also no matter where you live it's convenient because its located near the 680 freeway. plan your move carefully to avoid unnecessary charges and save money. things that rep and internet is not telling you ahead of time until you are ready to sign the contract. They are: 1) Bring your own padlock or else you are required to buy their padlock for $20. 2) Insurance is mandatory. 3) Rent is NOT pro-rated which meant that if you move out on the 2nd, you are also paying for the whole month. This applies to the insurance as well. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS LEGAL BUT KEEP THIS IN MIND. I ASSUME THIS POLICIES APPLIES TO ALL PUBLIC STORAGE. read more

Various members of my family have had storage units at this location for quite a while and had a good experience working with Judy and Cathy, the managers, so now that I need a unit this was the location I leaned towards. I went there the other day to rent a unit, and Cathy was very helpful, explaining all the terms clearly, and offering me a unit near my family's units, as well. My unit is clean, looks to be in good condition, and is even in the shade, which is nice on these hot summer afternoons. I went there again today to put some boxes in the unit, and the door got stuck and wouldn't close. We called Judy and she came right over with a ladder and released the door for me, and tightened the bolts on the door, and we didn't have to wait long at all for help. read more
