I wish the rest of the meal had been on that same level. I ordered the peel and eat shrimp boil and specifically asked for the Cajun butter on the side. Everything in the boil seemed extremely overcooked. The eggs had the green ring around the yolks that you get when they've been boiled far too long, the corn was so tough and overcooked that it was nearly impossible to eat, and the sausage tasted very cheap and also overcooked. The shrimp were the biggest disappointment. Several had a green goo inside that was incredibly unappetizing, and after seeing that, I could barely continue eating the meal. Even the Cajun butter was disappointing. It tasted like butter mixed with the seasoning packet from instant ramen rather than a flavorful Cajun butter. I really wanted to like this place, especially since the appetizer and oysters were good, but my entrée was honestly awful. For a restaurant specializing in Cajun seafood, I expected much better quality and preparation. I left having barely eaten my dinner and feeling like the entire boil was a waste.

A nice surprise was the bacon--not crumbled on top, but two large slices that added great flavor and texture. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails. I ordered the Flower Drop, which was recommended by the bartender, and it was absolutely delicious. My sister chose the Golden Hour, which was a bit more spirit-forward compared to my drink but still very enjoyable. A Wonderful Experience at J. Alexander's After Leaving Bonefish Grill…read more After leaving Bonefish Grill, I considered stopping at Red Lobster, but there was only one car in the parking lot. Across the street, I noticed J. Alexander's, where about 15 people were walking out smiling, and the parking lot was still fairly full for 8:45 PM. That was enough to convince me to give it a try. I walked in and was greeted immediately by the host, seated right away in a booth, and within 30 seconds, my waiter came over to ask what I would like to drink. The service was attentive and welcoming from the moment I arrived. I ordered the crab cake, which was what I had originally planned to get at Bonefish Grill, and I have to say it was one of the best crab cakes I've ever eaten. It came with a choice of coleslaw and fries, or I could substitute an amazing tomato salad. The tomato salad was simple, elegant, and delicious. I placed my order at 8:51 PM, and by 9:15 PM, my food arrived fresh, hot, and unbelievably delicious. If you're thinking about dinner, avoid Bonefish Grill and Red Lobster and make your way to J. Alexander's instead. You won't regret it. Everyone was friendly, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was phenomenal. After the disappointing experience I had at Bonefish Grill, J. Has it always been like this or did I not notice, but how can there be only 4 appetizers for such a large menu? We ordered the tuna poke and it was a huge let down, the plating was embarrassing. Tuna slopped on the plate with a few lettuce boat wraps. My husband ordered the NY strip - he said it was 7/10, for sure overcooked. He ordered a Medium and it was closer to medium well if not well done. However, he did say the Not Your Ordinary Mac n Cheese was terrific. Someone else at our table ordered the lasagna and wasn't a fan. The sausage was a bit spicy. Not the quality we remembered.

I came in with a date on Saturday night. I had been once before and the food was really great. He was wanting steak so I thought I would bring him to Stoney. I was VERY unimpressed this time. He order a gin and tonic, and the tonic tasted very flat. So he sent it back. It was the same the second time, but he drank it instead of sending it back again. I had a martini with a bleu cheese stuffed olive. The olive tasted like the cheese had been sitting out all day. Do they not keep their cheese stuffed olives chilled? I ordered a french onion soup as a starter. It was brought out with the salad. Even though I wanted the soup first. Things immediately started to feel rushed. We both ordered our ribeye's rare. It seemed not ten mins later, before I even had the chance to rush through and finish my soup and salad, our meals came. The steaks were extremely overcooked. I assumed that coming to a STEAK house that they would know how to correctly cook a steak. We even waited a few minutes before we cut into them to eat them because we weren't done with our salads. My date sent back his steak, and once again it came out again wrong. No manager re checked to see if we were enjoying it. The steaks were extremely over-seasoned. It was as if they over seasoned on the grill, and then added more salt and pepper on top of the steak before it hit the table. I owned two restaurants for 20 years, but if this is a standard for putting more salt & pepper on top before it hits the table "as a garnish" then this really needs to stop! A good steak from a "high quality" restaurant should not be loaded down with seasoning. I am very disappointed with the quality of the food, especially for the price. I do not like feeling rushed through my meal with courses. It seems Stoney River has many standards that need to change if they want to keep people coming in the door. read more

I had the pleasure of dining at Stoney River - Coolspring on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 7:00 pm. As a repeat customer, I have always had exceptional experiences at Stoney River in the past. On this particular evening, my family and I made reservations for 7:30 pm to celebrate a family member's birthday. Despite arriving early at 7:00 pm, the staff kindly accommodated us promptly and seated us without delay. Upon being greeted by our server, we placed our drink orders and soon after, our entrees. To kick off the meal, we were served a delightful basket of warm bread rolls accompanied by a side of butter. Each of us ordered an entree and an appetizer, both of which arrived promptly and were presented beautifully. For my appetizer, I savored the jumbo cocktail shrimp, served in a generous portion with plump, juicy shrimp resting on a bed of ice alongside a flavorful cocktail sauce infused with a tantalizing hint of horseradish. The shrimp's sweetness paired perfectly with the tangy sauce, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. Moving on to my main course, I indulged in the NOLA Grilled Shrimp served with a side of green beans. The dish was a culinary delight--succulent shrimp perfectly seasoned, perched atop a bed of flavorful Southern rice and garnished with a delightful mango salsa that offered a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess. The side of perfectly cooked green beans added a refreshing touch to the dish. Overall, the food at Stoney River never fails to impress with its exquisite flavors and presentation. While the staff members were accommodating and friendly, our server did overlook a few details and was slow in refilling our water, likely due to the bustling nature of the restaurant that evening. Despite this minor hiccup, I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience and look forward to returning in the future. read more

Great spot for a romantic dinner. I've always been a big fan of Stoney River, whether I'm dining in the bar, with my family, or just alone with my GF, I've never had anything but a positive experience. Got some favorites like the prime rib, coffee cured filet, and the cowboy cut ribeye. They are all outstanding. OK, I admit it.... I'm a prime rib junkie, and SR has as good as I've ever had. I've had all the sides at one time or another, enjoyed them all. I always start with the Ahi tuna, and a Wedge, the perfect complement to any meal. Oh yeah, the creme brulee...OMG! Whether you're visiting Nashville or looking for a special dining experience, this place is definitely worth the trip. And one more tip: Don't forget to check out the spa at Southall Farm & Inn! It's a beautiful addition to the experience, especially if you're looking to make it a relaxing getaway.

I had called four times now to pay the bill for them. What hotel can't transfer you from front desk to dining? What restaurant doesn't have a direct line if you can't get to them through the main line? And why is it so hard to give you a thousand dollars over the phone. I was told dining is busy, we will walk over and ask only to now never hear from them once over 6 hours. It's a good restaurant, it's not return a call restaurant. And this may be more Southall and the litany of problems they have and less the restaurant but severely disappointed I couldn't take care of people and too extra because you're too busy. It's a small hotel in the middle of nowhere.

The wings were juicy and perfectly seasoned. The second accommodation was the baked potato. They were able to provide a side of shredded cheese accompaniment upon request. Third accommodation was the virgin pina colada. I thoroughly enjoyed my half salad, which was plenty especially when paired with the wings app. The best part of salad were the freshness and quality of all the ingredients. Even with the way it was dressed and presented, the care and attention to detail was obvious. There's also the lobster bisque and Pavlova dessert. Loved it and it was picky-kiddo approved, especially that Pavlova which was just divine! We were very lucky to have dined with a performer player her guitar. She had a beautiful voice. We were also very lucky with our waitress. She boxes all our leftovers for us. We certainly recommend dining here. Everyone was warm and welcoming, including other guests.
