Went for the first time this week. Firstly, the "no substitutions" policy covers half of the menu. When I asked if I could take something OFF due to an allergy to green peppers, I was told that I couldn't. Let's look up the definition of substitutions, people. I asked to take something away, not replace it, which translates to YOU SAVE MONEY. I switched my order. We ordered two skillets and a kids meal. Kids meal was a VERY overcooked egg and bacon that was so hard, cold and overcooked that it was inedible. The skillets were tiny, the avocado on mine was half black, both the meat and the hash browns were very skimpy and the green chili was nothing but salt, salt, salt. This was probably the worst meal I've had in Parker. I had the huevos rancheros and it was absolutely awful. If I wanted pre-made packaged food, I could have went to a grocery store and bought it for cheaper. It's like they went into the Mexican food section of Walmart and said that looks good. They pretty much dumped the packaged Mexican rice, refried beans from a can, green chili from a jar on my plate, then threw some flour tortillas on the side. I don't know what that was but it's not huevos rancheros and it resembled a TV dinner. The taste was awful and the food made my wife and I sick. We made a bee line to Walgreens for tums. She had the salmon Benedict and she's pretty sure the sauce came from some plastic package. We won't be back and now the sight of this restaurant turns our stomach. read more

We ordered the Reuben and the taco plate. I can't even remember when I have had worst food. It was awful!! The sandwich had two tiny pieces of meat I couldn't even taste the meat there was so much sauerkraut. The tacos had no taste and were very mushy. The retried beans were poured out of a can. Updating my review as I've been several times now. I agree that even in the short time that we have been going I've noticed the quality of food change. I'm not sure if it was a chef change over or what... but they also recently changed their operating hours. I don't think they are even open for dinner anymore just breakfast and lunch (think they sign said they are going to start closing at 3). The couple times I tried breakfast on the menu here I was not impressed, however the people that I went with seemed to be content and that is why I have not downgraded my rating as much I would. Also, the last time we were in the waitress forgot to bring the sauce that is supposed to come with our dinner and the portions seemed noticeably smaller. read more

This is a solid place for breakfast. I am a breakfast snob which is why I only gave it 3 stars. I ordered the Greek omelette and it was good, but eggs were a bit burnt. Home fries could've been a bit crispier. Also the orange juice was not fresh squeezed but a concentrated sugary concoction. Coffee was good. I've been going here for close to 3 years now and wrote my last post March 27, 2011. I felt the need to update it cause it just keeps amazing me. My father and I eat her at least once a week with my 19 month old daughter. The staff is so terrific and knows us by name and have our drinks on the table by the time we sit down. Every single item on the menu is terrific and the prices are wonderful. I recommend the early bird special M-F, the best part is that it lasts till 10am so it's not that early. Green chili is bomb, country gravy is amazing, the entire menu is terrific. Tell Dawn, Ari, and Kaitlin that Jeff, Matt and lil Molly sent ya and you won't be dissapointed. :) They have become family there!!! read more

Just moved to the Parker, from Arizona, and I needed a breakfast joint to make me feel less homesick. Boyfriend and I always had Sunday morning breakfast at our favorite little diner in Arizona, and I worried we wouldn't find somewhere as good to replace it with the same consistent service and great food and prices...boy was I wrong! Stonegate cafe was an instant hit with me. We arrived on a random morning, later around 11 am. The place was packed! 2 servers for 15 tables, we grabbed the very last table. Guests kept coming through the door, patiently waiting for a seat to open. Those servers were amazing. Lightning fast, super friendly and knowledgable. French toast-fantastic. Veggie omelette-loaded and flavorful. Coffee and waters were refilled without having to ask. All the food was piping hot. We cleaned our plates. We over tipped those hard working waitresses. We are now regulars!!!! read more

Stonegate Cafe is an excellent place for breakfast. When the weather is nice, I love sitting out on the patio. No fancy bells and whistles, just great breakfast items with quality service. I plan to try it for lunch sometime but haven't had the opportunity yet. read more

Went to Stone Gate Cafe for my moms birthday. The menu looked promising, but after that it was just another below average cafe. We waited an hour for our food and when we asked our server how much longer her attitude change from friendly to very snarky. My mom had a veggie omelette which she said was just your run of the mill omelette that you could get at IHOP. My oldest daughter ordered the French toast breakfast with bacon and home fries. She said the potatoes were hard and crunchy, very stale. I ordered the gyro plate. Greek food there is not a good choice. The gyro meat you could tell was pre-packaged and very dry. My fries were soggy and greasy, and the tsaski sauce was just plain Greek yogurt (no dill or cucumber) and came in a plastic cup like you would use in your kids lunch. A recent change in ownership has resulted in some positive changes but...the food, albeit delicious, is taking a lot longer to come out of the kitchen. I'm going to have to lower my rating... much lower. With the new change in management, the food has bottomed out. Problem 1: Portions have gotten distinctly smaller. The french toast is now made with regular bread instead of Texas toast. A side of bacon is now 3 pieces in stead of 4. Problem 2: Everything seems to be covered with a salt-pepper blend. Eggs. Home fries. French fries. Everything. It much, much too salty! I still give Stonegate Cafe a star for the friendly and efficient service, and a star for the green chili. read more

OK I know they are under new ownership and they have an almost completely new staff, and I still have had good service there. But if they start changing all the recipes, we may not be back. The gravy last weekend wasn't good, it had a funky taste, and a strange color. Tell you what new owners, make a few changes in some things, add stuff to the menu but STOP changing the recipes!!!! You have repeat customers because of the food, you start changing things you are going to lose those customers!!! Wife & I stopped by because we had a meeting nearby. Never heard of this place before. Ordered the Relleno plate smothered in Green chile. I am VERY picky about my Green Chile....and a harsh critic. I have personally entered competitions and won. This...by far is the BEST Green Chile I have encountered at any restaurant in Colorado. Staff was on point and even literally ran out to the parking lot to bring my Wife her cheapo sunglasses that she had left. We WILL be back. Great service and Great feeling homey Cafe. This is a decent place to eat. We've only been here for breakfast. The French Toast is good. The Denver omelet is ok but I wasn't terribly impressed with the cheese triangles melted on top. As other reviewers mentioned, it's a busy place so expect a wait. Some servers are great and others a little on the slow side. The owners (I presume) stand by the register quite stone faced (no pun intended). They look almost uncomfortable to be there and I've yet to see them crack a smile in the 4 times we've been here. One of the worse dining experiences my husband and I have ever had. We are both not picky people, and we love small, hole-in-the-wall places, but this was simply gross. First of all, when we walked in we waited at the door for quite a while, until finally a server in the back yelled to us to go ahead and find out own table. The restaurant was boiling hot and smelled like body odor. It was a lovely 65 degrees outside but must have been close to 80 in the restaurant. I asked to add avocado to my veggie skillet for an extra charge, and when they brought my dish it had a few slices of ROTTEN avocado on it (you know how when avocado starts to rot it gets brown and gets those gross stringy things in it???) I showed the server and she said she would bring me another side of avocado. She returns with a few slices that look exactly the same as the first one, and said "Well, the avocados were frozen so they all look like that." I thanked her and told her I didn't want any avocado then. I can't believe they even served that in the first place and expected me to pay for it. The rest of my dish was not good; the spinach was frozen/canned and was extremely soggy and did not taste right. The potatoes also tasted like they had been frozen. My husband's eggs benedict did not taste fresh at all. He is a human garbage disposal, and yet he barely at any of it. That's when you know it's bad!!! We typically go to brunch at THE EGG AND I, but we thought we'd give this place a try since we like to support local businesses, and we don't like that the EGG AND I is a chain. THAT WAS A MISTAKE. Literally when I think about it I feel like I'm going to throw up. I highly recommend you skip it and go to the EGG AND I, which is always fresh and tasty. read more

This used to be my favorite breakfast place in Parker. However, when we went back there last week the food was not good. Bacon was burnt, eggs were rubbery and runny (not sure how that happened). My wife's Eggs Benedict was sub-par. Bread was soggy sauce was cold and hash browns were not fully cooked. To give this establishment credit, when told about this, they gave me a refund and a cinnamon roll. Hopefully they will figure out the issue and fix it. We started eating at Stonegate several months ago and initially found the food to be very good. So much so that we came back several more times even though the place is very small and you often have to wait. There really is no waiting area so we awkwardly wait lined up against the front window. The last time we were there my son had a donut that we brought along. Unknowingly we let him eat it as we sat down at the table. The waitress saw said donut and didn't say a word. Instead she went and got the owner who rudely came over and said for health code reasons he could not have food in her restaurant. She was so rude and my son was mortified. I can absolutely respect if they don't want outside food in their restaurant but for us to be treated so disrespectfully was completely unacceptable. The whole experience really has left a bad taste in my mouth and we will not return. read more

The staff here is very kind and friendly. This place is very small and they cannot accommodate large parties well, seems like food doesn't come out at the same time from the kitchen and some people get cold food. The wait on the weekends is ridiculous and there's really no way for them to accommodate the number of people that are actually waiting so A lot of people end up standing outside. There appears to be outside seating, but I never saw it utilized. They were very good about refilling waters and coffee. The decor leaves much to be desired, this is an extremely casual place. It does have its regulars and the elderly crowd love it. The food is okay but greasy and not always consistent. I agree that the French toast is kind of delicious and their bacon and sausage are wonderful quality. I have also had the green chili, Cinnamon roll, and I have tried the corned beef hash. I don't like green bell pepper in my corned beef hash. No matter what my family of five has here, we always leave with indigestion, so after about five visits we've called it quits. read more

This is a good "diner" right here in Parker. You'll immediately notice that there is a Greek twist to it. It used to be owned by a Greek family (they still own a restaurant in Arvada). I must admit that this food reminded me of my childhood because I grew up going to the Arvada restaurant and many of the menu options are the same, so I'm probably a bit biased. If you come here expecting some sort of salmon and dill benedict with truffle oil potatoes, you'll be disappointed. I see that some other reviewers have very high expectations. All I expect from a cafe or diner is good (probably not so good for you) cafe and diner food; like a breakfast burrito or the "mass confusion" like they have here at Stonegate. With that, I would have given in 5 stars, but the restaurant is a bit small (especially in the winter when there is no outside seating). This can make for long wait times and not much room to move around inside. I have no problem waiting for a long time for certain breakfast restaurants, but this isn't one of them. I also see that there are some complaints about their waitstaff here. I've always had a good experience, although some experiences were better than others. We have never had a flat out rude server, but there have been a few moments where the one server was a bit short. Other than that, the servers have been just fine and often very friendly. If you can get here, get seated, orders some gyros (real gyros) and eggs, a must-have cinnamon role, and some coffee, you'll be more than happy here. read more
