Pastry items we chose for my birthday this year (in lieu of a cake)!
    Diane T.

I've been buying items from La Baguette for a few years, so am surprised to see that I haven't reviewed them yet. For starters, I always look forward to stopping in. The owner and staff are always friendly and helpful, and there is always so much to choose from! So many sweet and savory items! It's always difficult to choose from so many gorgeous selections. Lately, I have been buying their whole Forestiere Quiche (mushrooms and bacon). The whole quiche is about $40 and serves 6 generously. I buy it for the two of us, slice it, and freeze four of the slices for later (thaw it overnight in the fridge and it reheats very well). For birthdays (when a cake is too much), we've started buying an assortment of their one-serving pastries to have over two or three days. I'm glad they're close (but not too close) to us. This is our go-to place for quiche.

After looking on Yelp for bakeries, I saw this French bakery in Parker. When I walked inside, it looked just like patisserie's in Paris. Lots of croissants, cookies, quiche and gateaux. They have multiple breads to make sandwiches. They offer sweet & savory crepes. I was served by the owner's wife to get my first Cafe au Lait and a heated Pain au Chocolat. Very fresh croissant. After looking at the large menu and the refrigerated cases, I got a second Cafe au Lait and a slice of Forestiere quiche made with mushroom, bacon, onion & rosemary from Blanca. Good price of $9 for the heated quiche on a plate ($7.79 for takeout). I met some regulars having their classic French breakfast, Petit Dejenner. Blanca said they have been here in Parker for 18 years after moving from Normandy. No additional service charge. The only restroom is difficult to access in a wheelchair. The menu posted on the wall is old with covered up prices. They freely offer 2 menus.

Extremely chewy/tough breakfast sandwich & potatoes that were probably made the day before and reheated for $17!! .

I'd rate the sweet pastries a "5".... Do NOT waste your money on any of the reheated items not made fresh!!! Especially if you have dentures Would be way overpriced fresh, to make it worse the sandwich & potatoes were reheated (not sure if microwaved or not), either way the sandwich & potatoes were incredibly chewy. Could barely get through the crust If time allowed, I would have gone back and traded it for a sweet pastry. So I threw it out instead and grabbed an energy bar from the gas station.

I've been frequenting La Baguette de Normandy for years and I am long overdue to give a review. This is an attractive, petite restaurant and bakery. They consistently have a beautiful display of baked goods five days a week (see pictures). The food is real French food and delicious. The name of the place reflects their award-winning traditional baguette. They make the best baguette I've ever had in the US, the best since I was in France decades ago. And it won best baguette across Normandy, which means it is the best of the best. There is free, ample parking at the location as well. Closed Sundays and Mondays.

Went for the first time today. Lots of food options and plenty of yummy desserts. Inside needs a makeover but you go for the yummy food, not decor. I will go back.

Authentic & unique with the best Almond croissants and baguettes in the region. You have to try the French baguettes and those are usually gone by 10AM! The place is small and cozy, friendly staff and plenty of options. Funky business hours, opens up early AM and closes mid afternoon and close on Mondays. Support your local businesses!

After a year of swinging by here once a month, I think its about time for me to write a review! This local gem is located right on the outskirts of Parker. Their staff members are always friendly and keep the line moving. However, if you plan to stop by on the weekend, I highly suggest coming in earlier in the day and allot at least 30 minutes for the visit. It gets super busy and sometimes, they do run out of their goodies. Pastries are always made with quality ingredients and so delicious! I would recommend trying their chocolate tart, raspberry glasses cookies and one of their savory items. They have all their sweet items on display, it is so tempting to buy it all! If you are money conscious, make sure to keep track of how many you get because I, unfortunately, am terrible at keep track so my bill comes out ~40-50 dollars. To me, it is so worth it because of two reasons: pastries are always so amazing and it is a small local business!

What a treasure of a spot! Huge variety of sweet and savory pastries and breads. Very reasonably priced. They also have a huge breakfast menu, including a lot of crepe options. We met the owner Bianca, who was very welcoming and friendly. We will be back for more!

It was lacking in flavor depth and texture was not airy enough; not even top 10-15 I have ever had. The best plain croissant I've tried in Denver is at Reunion Bakery, which is pretty much perfect and exemplifies what I had in Paris. They do have more unique flavors and offerings, but again, none of them blew me away and were actually quite underwhelming. Spinach artichoke croissant and chorizo strada were bland and lacking salt. Cinna-roll and almond croissant were probably the best ones but still nothing to write home about. I found it hard to eat more than 3 bites of anything I got because I did not feel any enjoyment from it and my taste buds were not sufficiently tingled lmao. Maybe I have higher pastry standards coming from San Francisco where there are just so many amazing options, but I think Poulette is a fine neighborhood bakery although not a place anyone should go out of their way for or wait more than 5 minutes for. I went on a Saturday morning at 9am when the wait was around 20-30 minutes. Staff were helpful and nice. Street parking was easy to find. There is limited seating indoors and outdoors.

When I called to place my order, they warned me about it being a shared kitchen, but that they do what they can to avoid cross-contamination risk. Normally I would not risk it, but this place was very highly spoken of in the "Denver GF" Facebook group - so I gave it a try! I ordered a GF small white rosette designed cake in the GF better than sex flavor. Everyone at my party loved it (both GF and non-GF folks) and nobody got sick. upon picking up the cake I also had a GF maple glazed donut and GF chocolate chip scone - the GF donuts are held on the top two racks of donuts, and the scones have their own jar. The cupcakes are with the other cupcakes in a display case, but are in front so likelihood of crumbs dropping it lower - they have their own tower / stand within the display. I asked the woman to wash her hands before grabbing my items and she happily did! I did not get sick from any of the three items I tried! The cake is nice and moist, donut was a little dense but good flavor, and the scone was superrrr dry and dense but that's pretty common of GF scones.

But this location does not offer the same level of excellence in service, or in expertise when crafting coffee. Not only was my husband's warm brew incredibly watery, but he said he could taste grains inside, swimming at the bottom of his mug. On top of which, my own iced breve lacked any flavor, despite the fact that I'd requested an addition of three separate flavors of sugar-free syrup pumped in at the end. Seating was pretty limited, as most tables were taken by students of all ages hunched over open laptops, alongside tubby backpacks. The temperature in the lodge was nothing short of stifling, and as this has been an unseasonably warm winter, the high degree seemed extreme. I found myself sweating, even after shedding several layers, and had to walk the property in order to cool down at one point. Thankfully, the surrounding scenery of panoramic mountain views offers its own mesmerizing draw, in this particular location erected off the beaten path. Parking is tight and can be tricky when snow patches take up half the lot, as another review mentioned. I appreciated the fact that the bathroom was clean and housed lots of charm. There are sugar-free syrup options on the menu, alongside gluten-free pastries, which is always helpful for those with dietary restrictions like myself. I did fall in love with the colorful little library, cheerfully offered at one end of the lot. Books, like coffee, bring a community together. How many neighborhoods have their own coffee house with such great options and a great location? The staff includes some young adults learning the food service business, so the owners are not only our neighbors but invested in serving our community every way possible. Thank you!
