This is a consolidated review of at least three takeout trips. We always order the same thing. My mother really wanted to get tri tip and talked me into Stonefire Grill because she needed someone to help her finish the tri-tip. I'm not generally a fan of tri-tip, so my original answer was "no". But then I felt bad, and I texted her back "yes, I'll help you finish the tri-tip" - after all, she was paying and I'm open-minded, so hey, what's another try at tri-tip going to do to me, right? So we got Takeout - it was a compromise because I refused to go and have to deal with parking. Traditional Greek Salad with beef - I thought this was really tasty. I could just eat this and it would be fine with me. Garlic Sticks - OMG. YUM! I really like the "chew" on the 'sticks. Trust me, they're AMAZING. Tri Tip - this is my mom's favorite. I now know why. It's amazing and affordable. I normally don't order tri-tip, so I don't have much to compare to. The reason I don't usually order tri-tip is that regardless of how rare it is, it still seems too chewy, like the cut of meat didn't have enough marbling to start with. I had NONE of the texture issues that kept me away from tri-tip before. Heh heh - I even ended up stealing the left over tri-tip from my mom's fridge. I bet my mom regretted inviting me. Ha! But I did admit to her that she was correct, she did find a tri-tip that was up to my standards. It took her FOREVER to get me to say yes. That is why this is a consolidated review.... Baby Back Ribs - So I am the one that loves ribs. But I don't eat them too often (anything that tastes that good and feels oily HAS to be bad for you unless consumed in moderation, and by moderation, I mean, only on special occasions). Ribs is something that I just cannot eat at a restaurant. I get messy, I get sticky, I feel like I'm a Neanderthal (which is ok with me, I just want a restaurant full of people seeing that, it's NOT pretty). I need a warm clean wet towel (like how they provide for you on international flights). I sure did enjoy eating them in the comfort of my own home though! Since I stole my mom's tri-tip out of the fridge (this was months ago), she's never invited me back to share a tri-tip with her. Apparently, she loves her tri-tip too much to "properly" share and I want it bad enough that I took her leftovers. LOL!! read more

If this restaurant is super packed, they must be doing something right, right? Even though this was my first time at a Stonefire Grill, it won't be my last! I actually like this place a lot! This place reminds me of Pat & Oscars. You order first, pay, then get seated with a table number. We ordered their tri-tips, chicken, 2 salads, and breadsticks. All were delicious, flavorful, and perfect, except we received our orders wrong. Our salads were supposed to come out with cheese and dressing on the side, but it was all mixed in. One of the combos were supposed to come with breadsticks, but we didn't get that, either so we had to let our servers know. If the servers and kitchen were on top of their game, this would be excellent. They seemed confused and lost when they were bringing out our food, too. They kept forgetting certain items, too. Overall, food is great, ambiance is loud and fun, and service is with a smile! read more

Many great things in life come in threes: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit; Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner; the fork, knife, and spoon. Two more groupings that I've discovered to add to the list are: Stone, Fire, and Grill.. and most importantly - Chicken, Tri-Tip, and Ribs. I've always liked backyard style barbeque, be it Lucille's, Phil's, and WoodRanch - but I've recently stumbled upon Stonefire Grill - It's close to home and of a great value. Here's a few THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW: 1. Parking - there is ample parking in the lot behind and around the restaurant, as it shares a lot with Trader Joe's and several other restaurants around - parking will not be an issue. 2. How to Order - instead of the likes of WoodRanch and Lucille's where you wait a long time to get seated, then get waited on and served, Stonefire is more like Phil's where you walk right up to the register and tell them what you want. There are several flavor preparations for each item you order, so know your options before you order to make the process fast and easy [I took forever because I couldn't make up my mind] After ordering, you either take it to-go, or you make your way to a table and wait patiently for your food [which comes out in less than 7 minutes] 3. Get your own silverware - there are several reviewers that found this to be offensive. I don't quite see why. When you find the table you like, they have a big station with a silverware spread - help yourself to some utensils, a boatload of napkins, and wait patiently at your table for the food. 4. 10-Finger rule - you are not allowed to leave until all 10-fingers on your dual-eating devices called hands are soaked in flavor, grease, and sauce. You can't leave until that has been achieved. Same rule applies to The Boiling Crab. HITLIST: Tri-Tip: I believe that in heaven, this stuff will grow off trees. I'll walk by a tri-tip tree and rip off a tri-tip leaf, go to the bbq sauce river, and dip to my heart's content. The tri-tip, cooked medium-rare, was so easy on the teeth. It was flirting with my tongue. I loved the natural juices and flavors within the meat. The bbq sauce was a compliment to the meat, not the main event, as is the flaw in many other bbqs I've had. I hate it when barbeque meat is only good because of the sauce - you won't find that pitfall here. This stuff is delicious even the day after eaten cold. I've tried it. It's supremely good, hot or cold. [9.5/10] Chicken: Tender, juicy, delicious. The lemon pepper rub was good, but only stayed surface level. The bbq flavor we got for the other half of the chicken went into the chicken. I suggest skipping the lemon pepper garlic, and going with bbq. [9/10] Ribs: My teeth exerted little to no effort. This was so delicious. Tender, soft, and appealing to the senses in smell, flavor, and touch. [10/10] Tri-Tip and Chicken Salad: They serve salad in punch bowls. Lots and lots of salad for your money. I suggest you upgrade from regular salad to tri-tip and chicken. It just tastes so much better. A variety in textures and tastes, it's really delicious. They do tend to dance on the border of too much sauce and just right, so I'd ask for 'easy on the sauce'. [8.5/10] DAMAGE: I think the grand total for a whole chicken, a full slab of ribs, a huge hunk of tri-tip, a punch-bowl full of salad, and 18 breadsticks came out to be $80~$85 - filled 5 adults to the brim, 1 toddler, and made for a full lunch for 3 of such said adults the next day. So.. enough to feed 8 adults. VERDICT: I am definitely a fan of Stonefire Grill - the flavors are delicious, the meat is tender and juicy, and it is so much closer than the likes of Lucille's and Phil's. Healthy goodness! (kinda) I was able to taste their CHOPPED SALAD filled with corn, tomatoes, black beans, carrots, cilantro, red cabbage, jack cheese, tortilla strips with buttermilk dressing! For a salad it was delicious... refreshing and satisfying! And I also had their GARLIC BREADSTICKS! Okay, now there is no purpose of feeling healthy when I had these delicious suckers! I've been to this location several times and I've had a pleasant experience most of the time. However, this takes the cake. This was a take out order.... I'll elaborate more in the service section. FOOD - 3.75 Stars: We ordered a couple of items: - Pulled Pork Sandwich: This was actually pretty good as it wasn't dry by any means and the BBQ sauce that accompanies the sandwich is delicious. I would definitely order this again! Plus, the bread was perfect. - Side of Garlic Mashed Potatoes: I ordered the extra side because I can never say no to a potato. However, I probably shouldn't have ordered it not because of the carb count from this small side order, but because of the lack of flavor. This was disappointing to say the least. I take a bite and get a bland bite of potato. I couldn't even taste the salt or garlic of that matter. The bland flavor was beyond anything I could imagine especially for something called garlic mashed potatoes. I suppose it's called garlic mashed potatoes because there was a whole garlic clove in it... mind you it wasn't even mashed or cracked to let the garlic flavor out of the clove. It was just one huge piece. Anyway, skip this. - Chicken Tri-tip Combo: Well, I'd love to review the combo that was ordered: a chicken breast and tri-tip, but the incorrect food was given twice. See the service story below. The cartwheel salad was tasty though. - Bread Sticks: You can never go wrong with their bread sticks. Just add some caesar dressing and red pepper flakes as a dip and you're golden! SERVICE - 2 Stars: Well, we placed our order and waited patiently for it to be completed. It was the dinner rush so we weren't worried about the extended wait time, but I was getting hungry since I just came from the gym. Our order is ready and one of the worker's hands our food to us and we ask for extra salad dressing. She bring it out and we're off. We get home and start unpacking the food. I take out the combo and the side salad and breadsticks. I'm now looking at an empty bag! They didn't give me my pulled pork sandwich! I didn't both to check since I've never really had an entire order missing! I immediately call and explain the situation and they say "yeah, we have your order here... it's still on the counter. We'll make you a new one." I didn't want any fuss and just decided to drive over and pickup my order. So, I tell my friend to go ahead and eat his food so that it doesn't get cold. I drive about 5 minutes when I get a call from him saying, "My order is wrong. They gave me ribs instead of tri-tip (the chicken breast was correct so at least they got half of the main order right)." So, he calls the manager and explains the situation. The manager is very apologetic and says he'll refund my money, give us the food we ordered, and provide us a comp card. I'm in a bit of disbelief about the situation that both our orders were screwed up and I could really careless about getting a refund or comp card. I just want my food! I arrive at Stonefire and drop off the incorrect order. The manager comes up to me to apologize and hands me my order and receipt showing the refund. So, I just respond, "It's ok." And he says, "No, it's not ok. The workers should be checking the order before they give it to the customers." I trust at this point that the order is correct. So, I say thank you and leave. I look into the bag and see a tri-tip chicken combo, pulled pork sandwich, and breadsticks. He refunded my money, provided the comp card, and gave a piece of carrot cake. At this point, I'm not mad because he did everything possible to rectify the situation. I get back to the house and we start opening our orders. I'm happy because I finally get to eat... mind you it's already been an hour since we got our food. My friend opens his box and says, "My order is wrong. They didn't give me a chicken breast... they only gave me thigh meat and a drumstick." SMH. Seriously... at this point, we had had it. I didn't want to drive back and there was no point in calling to complain. I appreciate the manager for "fixing" the situation and literally going above and beyond. I was actually happy to write a review because I wanted people to know that the service he was great. However, after giving me the speech of how all the employees should be checking the orders, he probably should've checked mine twice to ensure it was correct especially since there was a mistake the first time. RECOMMENDATION: The food here is really good for the most part when the order is right. As much as I love my potatoes, it was terrible here so order everything except for that. If you eat carbs, it should at least be tasty and worth it! As for the service aspect, I will be double checking all my take out orders. I don't want to go through this problem again because of all the wasted time of driving back and forth was just annoying. Oh well. In the end, the star scale bounced like this: 5 to 2 to 4 to 3... Called in and asked another worker but they never came out. Then ANOTHER worker came out for a different driver and they helped and came said the order was ready long time ago. Lame service. I love this place! It looks very chic from the outside, which kind of made me think it was a place I had to dress up to go to. But my Mom and her friend had gone earlier in the week and said casual was fine. Plus, Mom was impressed with the food -- believe me, Mom's hard to impress! The people are VERY friendly and helpful. It's different, because you order and pay for your food as soon as you enter. You're given a number plate that you display at your table. Seating is comfortable and plenty, and you can even eat "outside" in their spacious patio. You get your own soft drinks, but they bring your food to you. Now, the food. YESSSSS!!! It is SO GOOD! Everything is made with fresh ingredients, even the herbs are fresh -- and you can TRULY taste the difference! I love their Greek salad, but even a basic Ceasar salad will surprise you -- they really know how to use the seasonings to make dressings that bring out the very best. I have tried the tri-tip, ribs, chicken and salmon, and truly can't decide which I like best. Everytime I have eaten there (which is now about 10 times in the last 3 months or so) the meat is ALWAYS tender and perfectly seasoned. The buttery cheesy breadsticks come fresh out of the oven - Heavenly; and the garlic/cheese mashed potatoes - to die for! I know it sounds silly, but I even love the soda machines! I happen to like rootbeer, and they've got the best I've tasted since good 'ole fashioned A&W from years ago! The portions are always enough (usually more than enough) to thoroughly satisfy you, and the prices are VERY good! My Mom and I went for lunch on Sunday: I had lemon garlic salmon, she had lemon garlic chicken (1/2 chicken), we both had Ceasar salads, and the individual meals come with two breadsticks each. It happened that we didn't want soda that day, but the cost for both of us was less than $25.00!!! Now honestly, you can't beat that! And let me tell you -- you won't find food that tastes that good ANYWHERE, especially in that price range! You've GOT to give StoneFire Grill a try! read more

Here today for lunch. First time at this location. I am a big fan of this regional chain. This location was clean, service was excellent, and food was pretty good. I ordered the tortilla soup and a small Tri Tip BBQ salad. The salad was better than the soup. I have to agree with some of the other Yelpers and the previous reviews about the soup; it was very bland, had no real taste other than a can of tomato soup and sauce, and utilized a very sticky cheap cheese that was very messy to eat. I understand about holding down costs and all but this place is about excellent tasting and wholesome food. Stone Fire Grill please read this review and the numerous others that are telling you that your tortilla soup needs some work; it really does! So fix the soup and pay attention to the below reviews and this is a 5-star value lunch and dinner spot for sure. Did I mention how reasonable the prices are here? Great Caesar salads with chicken and the ribs are outstanding. Stay away from the coleslaw. I tried it once and that was enough. I didn't think peanuts belong in coleslaw. I was right. The pizzas look scrumptious but since I'm so hooked on the salads and ribs, I have yet to try it. Get going. Get you some! You'll be glad you did. They top it off with great employees. Well.... this is the 4th StoneFire Grill that I've been to... I gotta say, this one defintely looked nicer from the outside, but inside, it's all the same.... How do I rate it? First... 4 stars all because of the food! Consistently great, portions are always wonderfully huge, tri-tips are always delicious (but they are once again just warm... I guess that's something they can't fix...) And overall it was very enjoyable... Second... 3 stars for service... it was lukewarm at it's best... yes, there is one manager went around and asking how everything is going, but there is another lady there who didn't look too happy there... I know... she didn't do anything wrong... not like she offended me or anything but damn... you are operating a restaurant... you NEED TO SMILE and "PRETEND" you are enjoying your work! Restaurant is a happy business so make sure you stay happy at least till you are off your shift... Perhaps it was because we brough our pup-troop? But! The 3 musketeers were nicely sitting in their strollers just right outside of the outdoor seating area waiting for us to finish our food, but the manager looked totally annoyed that we have dogs there.... if she would of said.... "oh... they are sooooo cute... but can you please keep them outside just for the sake of the city's health requirements? If it was me I would totally let them sit next to you but I have no control over this so I do apologize..." Can you imagine how we would be feeling? We would totally comply and enjoy our experience to the fullest... but.. all we've got was the look of..."oh.... dogs... why? whatever, just keep them outside...." Sheesh..... dog lover you are not maybe or simply having a bad day? Anyway... managers should really be cool, happy, and accomodating to the best possible... yet able to diffuse situations in order to ensure all customers are satisified... So please do smile for the sake of StoneFire Grill..... Guess I didn't read other reviews closely enough, because I was a little thrown at first by the order up front, then seat yourself arrangement here. However, I was quickly won over! It's a cute, family-oriented place with surprisingly good BBQ for very reasonable prices. WTH Wood Ranch??? At Stonefire, I had the Tri-tip and Ribs dinner, INCLUDING a generous side salad (I chose the Greek, but with Balsamic vinaigrette) AND garlic breadsticks. The meats were delicious and tender, the portions were hearty, and the sauce had good flavor. And those breadsticks... super-greasy, super-Parmesan-y goodness, yum. I also tried a tiny portion of their peanut coleslaw, but I prefer Wood Ranch's. Anyway, the food and the prices did not disappoint, even with all the families and their screaming children surrounding us. Although you may not know this, I am a great fan of the Santa Maria Steak. This is really a different name for the legendary Tri-Tip, which became a specialty of the area in the 1950's. In some markets, people will still refer to it as "Santa Maria Steak," rather than the name we've grown accustomed to. I had the fortune to savor some tender tri-tip the other day at my friend Shaun's birthday. (Yes, he's spells Shaun as I do, with the "u") Of the grand buffet at the party, here's what I dined on: Tri-Tip Roast - Tender pieces of succulent tri-tip cooked just the right amount of time and delicately seasoned. A true roast beast fit for the Gods. Boneless Chicken Breast - Served in a light white wine sauce, this fowl was flavorsome and delightful. Stonefire Breadsticks - I had one of those surreal moments where I wanted to make love to a bread product. These things are addictive! I kept going back for more... do they have a clinic for carb addicts? Garlic Mashed Potatoes - A version of this classic dish mashed with cream, garlic and a few other spices. An absolute must! Stonefire's Cartwheel - A fully cast salad with absolutely no understudies. The other toppings don't let the lettuce take over, but coexist amicably to produce a great side act. As I only sampled their catering, I cannot comment on the restaurant itself, its staff or parking accommodations. However, if the food is any example of what this establishment has to offer, I will most assuredly be dining in person sometime soon. read more

First off, Stonefire Grill is nothing more than Sizzler's in a Sunday dress; and I wouldn't have eaten here if I knew I would have to order my food at the door or that I'd be drinking from a paper cup. Why I didn't walk right back out the door, I will never know. The staff was miserable, the Greek Salad wasn't; and whatever it was, the lettuce was wilted and it tasted like hell. I sent it back for the mashed potatos. Holy goodness the mashed potatoes SUCKED!!!!!!! The wait for my main course was miserable. I could barely think with all the noise coming out of the kitchen. I read a bunch of reviews about how good the Tri-tip is. They were wrong (unless of course, you like the Sizzler). At least, now I know why they make you pay first. Overall, I'd rather shoot myself than ever eat here again. It was awful. In fact, I wouldn't eat here again, even if it came with a Happy Ending. Ordered for curbside pick up over the phone and was assisted within minutes of calling. Although they ran out of tri tip that came along with the $30 Stimulus package (comes with a couple garlic breadsticks, one large pizza, salad of your choice, & chicken/ tri tip), I ordered the garlic lemon chicken instead and was quite surprised how delicious it was. I've ordered from here several times already and I absolutely love how great the customer service is here. Definitely recommend coming here, you won't regret it!! read more

My husband's coworker told him about this place so we decided to come here for lunch. This restaurant is located in the big plaza by Trader Joe's and LA Fitness. Huge lot but lots of cars circling to find parking. We had to circle twice before we found a spot near Trader Joe's.This place reminds me of Phil's BBQ in San Diego. You walk in, order, get a buzzer and find your own table. My husband was set on the tri tip 10-12 oz meal and tomesto to share. The meal comes with 2 breadsticks and a salad or small side. We got the cesar salad. The lady that took our order forgot to give us a buzzer. I found us a table and then asked my husband how do we get our food? He had to go back to the front to get the buzzer. Hmmm...not very good in terms of customer service. Then again she seemed spacey during the order. My husband said we would like the tri tip 10-12 oz meal with a cesar salad. She then asked if we wanted bbq or garlic lemon. Then she asked how we wanted it cooked. Then she said you get either a salad or small side. Huh? He had already said cesar salad. Guess she was not listening. The food arrived and my husband's face was priceless! The tri tip was served on this silver plate, reminds me of those pizza plates. He was shocked at how little food 10-12 oz was. He even asked the waiter is this the 10-12oz? I can't imagine what the petite 6oz looks like. The breadstick was meh. It was doughy but flavorless. The cesar salad was good. The tri tip had good flavor but a few slices were too fatty for my taste. The tomesto pasta is a half tomato sauce and half pesto. It is pretty much a huge bowl of carbs. Nothing special. I would not recommend it. Not sure if I would be back because for $30 something for lunch I expected to have a happy belly when leaving. read more

Everyone raves about the meats here, but I'm going to tell you about their salmon. As most know salmon can be tricky ... you know that their cuts are fresh because there's no fishy smell or flavor. Always moist and perfectly cooked. You get the option of the lemon garlic sauce or the sesame glaze. It's prepared so precisely that I prefer mine just plain with maybe a squeeze of lemon. Seriously flawless. You really can't beat a whole meal that includes a side salad and breadsticks for just around $10. When my body's craving those omega-3s, you'll find me happily seated here in one of their booths. read more

this place is BOMB. not sure why i never stopped by before. been to robins down the street but never peaked any further. this place is soooo good, we decided to stop by twice this last week. the first time we ordered togo - check out my togo pix. the pictures arent as appealing as when i snapped shots when i ate there yesterday, but theyre still ok the food here is amazing. ribs are deelish, tri-tip is melt in your mouth tender, pizza is extremely flavorful and the tomesto, that thing should be patented. check out the pix and tell me its not making you drool. service was great and the prices werent bad. the nice thing about this place is that you order your food first and pay for it before getting seated. they then give you a number to place on your table. i really like this approach as you dont have to worry about paying for your food after. you just tip based on service and bone out. read more

this, is the ultimate place for ribs & chicken! ohh my gawwwwd! im going to make this quick guys... ribs = awesome, juicy, meaty, and ohhh so messy ;) pesto & marinara pasta = a lovely duo of christmas colors with a surprisingly delightful flavor when mixed TOGETHER. loved it. cesar salad = i'm a total Nazi when it come to cesar salad, but this one, definitely made an impression. Its all the same things you love from any other cesar salad but with a KICK. chicken= i've tried both bbq, & lemon garlic. both amazing! so juicy & tender.. & just between you & me.. you can findme sucking on dem bones too. what can i say? i love me sum chicken. This place is the real deal. I've tried their tri-tip, chicken breast, tomesto pasta, caesar salad, and bread sticks. Tri-tip here was among the best I've had; it's extremely tender with a distinct smokiness. The chicken breast was good but was disappointingly oily at the same time. There was a stark contrast in the amount of oil on my plate between the tri-tip and chicken beast. You have the option of it being prepared with mesquite bbq or lemon garlic. I definitely recommend the bbq over the lemon garlic as the flavor isn't as good in my opinion. There are chunks of garlic that were visible but the flavor was overpowered by the lemon. I ended up dipping it in the bbq sauce anyway (which is delicious btw). The tomesto pasta is a solid combination of marinara and pesto. I highly suggest that you eat this while it's warm because the flavor and texture diminished a bit once it was cold. This isn't a traditional restaurant where you sit down and order from a server. You order, pay upfront, and receive a little transmitter. They will locate your transmitter and deliver the food to your location. This place is pretty spacious inside along with a plethora of outside seating so you should rarely have a problem finding a place to sit. Prices are slightly above average for a restaurant that's not a traditional "sit-down restaurant" but the quality does not suffer at all. It was one of the more enjoyable meals I've had recently and I'd definitely frequent Stonefire Grill more often if it was closer in proximity. Tip: Ask for a side of caesar dressing to dip your bread sticks. Trust me, it's a winning combo! :) read more

a chill dinner option the night before our big hike we wanted something relatively light and quick between the two of us, we shared: the half chicken (lemon garlic) and cartwheel salad and a medium cobb salad the portion sizes caught me off guard i could probably eat a "medium" salad for a week the chicken was really tender and i loved the huge chunks of garlic the cartwheel salad because i'm a super fan of beets but i think the chopped cobb salad won me over that olive oil vinaigrette was fabulous a great casual dining spot read more

The new shrimp plate with quinoa is VERY good. I was really surprised at how good this was. I was craving a salad with shrimp all day & since Stonefire is right next door to my gym, I stopped by to see if they had it on my way home. The girl at the front was not very bright to put it nicely. When I asked her if they had a cesar salad w shrimp she said no, that they only had the shrimp plate. I then asked what was in it & she responded "shrimp with quinoa & your choice of 4 salad options (she listed them off & surprise, surprise, one was a cesar). Call me crazy but that's essentially what I asked for, if not you could easily make it since you have 2 main ingredients. Either way, I ordered it and it was really good. If it wasn't $14 I would be coming back to get it more often. read more

You don't like good homemade pasta?! You don't like fluffy butter mashed potatoes?! You don't like a fantastic sweet-smoky BBQ sauce?! SERIOUSLY!?! Seriously. Stonefire is the best delicious inexpensive restaurant. The breadsticks and BBQ sauce alone warrant a visit. I could eat 10 of those. I am OBSESSED with the Cartwheel salad. There's something in it that I NEED TO KNOW... that's hidden. It's filled with beets and beans and celery and salad tossed with a light cilantro-y dressing that is out of this world. Fresh and sweet-tangy, this salad is a winner every time. I love the garlic tri-tip and the BBQ chicken. The portions are big, and they are so good, and the food comes so quickly!!! ALSO - The catering service is fantastic, and some of the most affordable meat-based catering you can find. I had them cater to my wedding for 200 people and let me tell you I did a LOT of research and for about $10/head (not including tax) I could provide all my guests with Tri-tip & Chicken & Breadsticks & 2 types of salad & Mashed potatoes & Pasta Marinara... NO JOKE. Everyone said it was the most delicious wedding food. Call Lindsay Simpson at this location for the LA area, you will not be disappointed. Simply incredible. The Good: The staff is very friendly, the restaurant is big and clean, and service is pretty quick. The salads here are AMAZING AND EPIC! My group ordered the South of the Border salad (corn, black beans, tortilla strips, onions, creamy dressing) and it was super delicious with a mix of chicken and tri-tip. I could come here and just eat that! The tri-tip itself was juicy, meaty, and flavorful, we had both Garlic and Butter and Mesquite BBQ flavors. Delicious. The Bad: My friend ordered a large chicken breasts for $8. It tasted very flavorful, the skin on it was crispy, and it was enjoyable overall, but you can order a whole chicken for $12! That was not worth it! Bread sticks were all right. The Ugly: $22 dollars for approximately 2 pounds of meat. Good, but I'll pass. Not particularly good for sharing either because I think each of us got 4-6 slices total. The Verdict: This place serves delicious salads and the tri-tip is stellar. Overall, I added a star since they are relatively new to the area, otherwise it would have been one star all the way. If you like Applebees/TGIFriday/Chili etc., you'll love Stonefire. Not that they have the same menu or anything, but the prevalence of sysco-style foods left my wife and me with a "meh" taste in our mouths. First impression: boy, is it LOUD in here! We could here the noise from the parking lot, and the restaurant wasn't 1/2 full. Hate to think what it would be like when full. Hard to read the menu, and sit-down prices for bring-it-to-the-table service? Hard to swallow in Pasadena, but OK, give it a shot. We had the tortilla soup, chicken breast in lemon-garlic, tri-tip and rib combo, caesar and greek salads, breadsticks. Soup: basic tomato with mexican flavors, one poor little piece of avocado and a few lonely shreds of chicken. Boring, under-seasoned, not hot enough (not cold, but barely warm enough not to send back.) Salads: Boring, under-seasoned (a common problem with caesars everywhere, unfortunately), the greek salad had no discernable reason for being called greek except a small amount of feta. Looked like Sysco #3 salad mix with italian. Chicken breast: flabby, wet, piled high with nearly raw garlic. Tasted like "enhanced" (read: full of water). Despite the vast quantity of garlic, was still rather bland. Tri-tip: ordered, medium rare, came more or less on temp, but not hot, same "wet"/enhanced texture, best thing we ate, and the only thing except the caesar we finished. Ribs: 1/2 rack, nicely charred. Too bad it was not the same inside: fatty and tasting steamed, no smoke flavor. Breadsticks: I'd rather have the ones from Pizza Hut, and I never eat those. Doughy, and flavorless. Not worth the calories. All this for $35? (with 2 sodas.) I'd rather go to Islands, or really, the bowling alley nearby. Maybe with the kids? But pushing $20/person you can do much better locally. Sorry, folks, we wanted to like you better. read more

Best Tri-Tip Salad!!! We came to try Stonefire Grill after a smell by and this place did not disappoint! We were a little greedy the first time cause we were starving so we tried the majority of their food items. The BEST grill tri-tip salad I ever had. The tri-tip was so tender and juicy and the salad had a lot of fresh ingredients. I really liked their bread sticks too.. it was the perfect pair for my salad. The baby back ribs were good, but I'd have to say that Lucille's is better for ribs. Although I'm not a fan of tri-tip, the tri tip was good because it was cooked perfectly medium, very tender, and very juicy. The grilled corn is a bit steep in price, but definitely very good. We got the lemon garlic chicken and it was very tender and juicy as well. All in all, very good place to have a bite or to take out. They have good lunch specials on weekdays too. read more

Stonefire grill is just good cheap food. I like their garlic lemon butter on the chicken. It's always moist and the sauce is good. The tritip here was better than all the other locations I've had it at. Super soft and smoky. The Cobb salad had too much mint. read more

It was very tasty and had good variety. The meat was tender and not chew y at all! The chicken pieces just fell off the bone. It has nice atmosphere. t's hard to take photos because of the lighting, for like group photos. The bread sticks were yummy and layered with garlic, and the tritip was delicious. Stonefire was one of our go to places for takeout so it's with much disappointment that I'm writing this bad review. Last night, we ordered the roasted veggie pizza and specifically told the order taker that we want the one with cheese (they offer a cheeseless one). After waiting extra 10 minutes for the pizza (because it's was just being finished up), we got home to find that they had given us the pizza with no cheese and it was cold. We had to doctor the pizza ourselves by adding our own cheese and reheating it in the oven. I'm very disappointed that not only was our order incorrectly taken (after 3 reminders by us) and that it was cold and tasteless. read more

What a place! I love the entire vibe of this establishment. It's very trendy and the food tastes great. They have such an extensive menu from baby back ribs to pesto pizza to gourmet salad, it appears they've got it all! I ordered a personal sized salad with tri-tip and their most famous stonefire grill pizza (which is basically a veggie pizza with a lot of pesto on it). I thought the two dishes were incredible! I'm starting to like thinner crusted pizza more, and after eating the pizza here, I like it even more! This restaurant has a very modern feel to it. It looks like a 5 star expensive restaurant, yet you order up front and you get your own utensils and plates. I would say that the style of this restaurant is the better version of BJ's (food-wise) meets Chipotle. I'll definitely be back when I'm around the area. read more

My dad loves BBQ and there seems to be a shortage of really good places in the area. Chicken: I had only a small piece of the chicken breast and thought it was great. It needed sauce though. I didn't eat any of the dark meat but I heard mixed opinions about it. My dad though it was not fresh enough but my boyfriend thought it tasted fine. Ribs: I did not like this. The meat wasn't fall off the bone tender and it wasn't smoked enough. The flavor was superficial and I thought it had a weird taste which reminded me of the refrigerator. It kinda grossed me out. Tri Tip: It was tender but needed sauce. Lemon Garlic Salmon: My favorite of the night. It wasn't too garlicky and the salmon was cooked perfectly. Yum! It went great with the Caesar salad. Half BBQ Chicken & The Works Pizza: I didn't eat any of this but my brother law made a Costco comment LOL! Garden Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette: The salad was fresh but I didn't like the dressing. I would suggest ranch or blue cheese. Caesar Salad: After a few servings of the garden salad, I decided to switch over to the Caesar and wow, it was packed full of flavor. This just shows how bleh the garden salad was. Bread Sticks: It was not bad but I found it to be too greasy. The marinara dipping sauce was weak. I like my sauce bright red and tangy, not dark and subtle. I wanted some acid to cut the grease. Grill Sweet Corn: We ordered 4 and unfortunately, it was a bit too charred so more than half of it went to waste. The food was not the best I've had but it's also not the worst. It's a great place for large families because it does feed a lot and it's not bad for its price. Service is pretty good too. read more

Can't beat the chopped bbq salad unless you order just about anything on the menu. Everything is great. Large portions and made to order not sitting in a warmer. Outdoor sitting very nice too. They have catered several events for us. Excellent!!!! read more
