They need to work on their service, like a lot!. I mean I literally got up from the table and went to the host stand and got us water because nobody got it for us in a long time (20 min at least). Also, my wife ordered coffee, which comes in a French Press (which is cool) but something was wrong with it and there was a lot of coffee grounds in the cup and I called the guy and told him about it, ask him to please address it and he asked my wife "Have you ever use a french press?" (What?), it sounded super patronizing, there are way better ways to say that (ask the same thing). And yes, we have used one (multiple times) and something was wrong with that one. I had in the past given them 5 start for the food but this time the service was really disappointing, but I do have to say the food was worth the wait. I thought the name of the restaurant sounded cool. Never heard of a restaurant called Stone Turtle prior to coming. The restaurant was clean, and our waitress was very attentive throughout our dinning experience. None of their options really peaked our interest when we arrived. Turtle Mac & Cheese and the Brisket Dip were our selections. I wasn't too impressed with the Mac & Cheese. I felt it was a little watery for my taste. The Brisket was tender and seasoned but a little on the salty side. For dessert we had the chocolate cake with a bourbon dizzled on it. The cake was so warm and gooey in the middle. I ate almost all of it by myself. That was a solid dessert option. The Lavender Spritz, Kentucky Mule,and the Bee's Knees were our beverages. Honestly, the best drink was the Bee's Knees, it actually was quite delicious. The Lavender Spritz was tart for my taste and Kentucky Mule was a lemony tasting. So, this place has been on my brunch wish list for months. So I FINALLY went with my mom this past Saturday. I was able to make same day reservations very easily using Open Table from their website. Booked Saturday at noon for 2 around 9am that morning. Parking is all on the side streets which can be tricky in Dogtown but we got lucky. We went in and were seated promptly. Nice window seat. We ordered the waffle & fruit , French toast, and Dogtown omelette which we shared. Oh an my mom was feeling froggy (lol ) so she got a French Press Coffee w/ a Jamieson. French Toast was mouthwatering ! And the brown sugar bacon ....I really wanted more than two pieces. Our server, Maz (pictured below) was awesome! Great at explaining the menu and very personable. I showed up 30 minutes late for a reservation and apologized profusely. The man up front said, "Sir, we're happy to wait for you! Thank you for calling and letting us know. Had such a lovely afternoon here catching up with a close friend! The atmosphere in this friendly and warm restaurant has always been very welcoming, but today was something else . We were greeted by the best server, Maz, who immediately fulfilled our request for being seated near the sunlight, and recommended we get the mimosa bucket! His jokes cracked us up, so we complied haha. Once the conversation was flowing, it was time to order our brunch for the day. They have a separate brunch menu : We shared the Waffles+fruits: very refreshing, served with fresh watermelon, strawberries and blackberries, with a crisp golden waffle in the center topped with whipped cream. Flawless and light and airy. Mushroom omelet: great option for those choosing to eat vegetarian. The spinach, arugula and mushroom were in a perfect ratio with the egg, and it comes with a generous portion of fries. Maz was kind enough to bring us a locally made green hot sauce which was truly delightful. We wrapped up our brunch with a slice of cheesecake. We go two smashed avocado toast which were okay- nothing to write home about- were on English muffins. Their chicken and waffles were good and the omelet was delicious. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, helpful, and downright intuitive. We sat in an area of high-backed booths which afforded private conversation. The food was not bad, but it was not inspired. I had the lobster bisque, which was middle of the road. It was not salty and had a decent flavor. There was one nibble of lobster and was a very small portion overall. The bread was warm, but it is sweet. Not sure about you, but I'm trying to avoid extra sugar not add it! We were excited to try this restaurant as it's hard to find a good place open on Monday nights. The service was great, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We started with the calamari and the fried cheese curds. The cheese curds were amazing! The calamari was fine, but the aioli was lacking in flavor. I could have eaten my weight in those cheese curds. We had two orders of the fish & chips, the burger & the steak. First off, the fries were all good in their various flavors. The burger was good, but not the best I've ever had. The fish unfortunately was terrible. All 4 of us tried it. It lacked flavor, the batter wasn't that crispy, the fish was dry and flavorless. It was probably the worst fried fish I've had in awhile. The steak was fine, but again - nothing to write home about. We thought about ordering dessert, but a few of us had used the bathroom and noticed how dirty and grimey the floors, baseboards and walls were. It grossed us out and we left to have dessert elsewhere. It won't be the best or worst meal you've ever had if you try this place. Just don't do the fish & chips. read more

Everything was great, the food as well as the service. They were accommodating without being bothersome. My sister had a large salmon steak with excellent grilled potatoes and asparagus. She loved it and I got a taste of the potatoes. They were excellent. I had the mushroom crochets were very nice. I also had the brussel sprouts, again they were very well grilled. My favorite place to dine in Dogtown so far. The food is spectacular, the vibe is great and the service is always on point. Nick is the manager and this guy is a class act let me tell ya. The pork tenderloin sando is a winner! The salmon entree kills it, the harvest salad is on point like no other salad should be, the sprouts are like crack and the cashew/pork belly apps are pure foodie crack, get them all, thank me later. The Berkshire pork chop is my favorite item on the menu bar none. Delicious period! Never been big on desserts (no sweet tooth I know of yet) but the NY style blueberry cheesecake is worth giving a go at for sure. I went here for a nice dinner with my friend...perfect place for a date...I especially like the bar area because of the low light. I also love the fireplace, interior brick,and aluminum ceiling that reminds me of New York. Though the service was a bit slow, and our waitress had to be flagged down every time we needed something, the food was impeccable! I got the egg roll appetizer, and split that with my friend, and I got the steak, which I ordered med rare...it came out between med rare and med, which was perfect! The meat melted in my mouth, it was delicious!!! The asparagus was pretty good as well, a little overcooked, but still good, and the grit au gratin was pretty dry. I wish they had just gone with some delicious traditional or non-traditional potatoes...like real au gratin. Love this cute corner spot in dogtown! They have a bar side and a more sit down type side depending on what vibe you are wanting. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Originally, my spouse and I came here with another couple to have brunch. Unfortunately, we found out that brunch was only served on Sundays. We were already there and decided to try out the lunch. To be honest, nothing really excited me, but I went with our server's recommendation, the Grilled Chicken Club. I substituted the side of fries with Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Bacon. I was really surprised by the sandwich. Lots of places offer sandwiches so I wasn't expecting much, but I was really wowed. Everything from the bread to the chicken was absolutely delicious. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The bacon was really thick and sweet allowing the arugula to come in and balance the sandwich out. The roasted brussel sprouts were not mushy and were nice and firm. The crispy bacon in the brussel sprouts really enhanced the side, and they didn't skimp out on the bacon either. Nick (the owner) did a fantastic job in the planning stages, offering us plenty of menu options and being open to our needs. He kept in touch, always responsive to emails and calls, taking care to make sure everything was completed on time and on budget. The night of the dinner, Nick and the entire staff were amazing. All friendly and helpful. We could not have asked for a better crew to take care of our group. The food was simply fantastic. Every single person in our group of 50+, without exception, was impressed with the their meal. Whether they had the burger, salmon, or their famous ribs, we heard nothing but praise for the food from all of our guests. Most importantly, the bride and both moms were completely happy. We had the Mango Habanero chicken wings and Tiger Rolls which were both excellent. I had a Manhattan to drink and my wife had a Bee's Knees which were both good. Umm, can I tell you how much I love this place? I learned there's an impressive happy hour at a Yelp event last night too, so you'll probably see me often. The buratta salad is heaven and I want the recipe to the salad dressing so I can have it in my daily life for lunch. The macaroni and cheese makes me think naughty things, for real I'd lick the cast iron skillet. The cocktails I drink by the twos and the Mexican lady is my absolute favorite. I visited for brunch so I can't comment on the entire menu, but I wasn't impressed with my breakfast burrito, which was pulled pork, egg, cheese, and Siracha (allegedly) in a tortilla shell. The thing was massive, but after two bites I decided to just eat the accompanying French fries, which were tasty. The pork was bland as hell and cheese was nearly nonexistent. Fortunately I was able to feed my dogs a couple of meals with the leftover pork after I deconstructed the burrito at home. They would probably give it 5 stars. Then again they are used to Pedigree. The service was good so no complaints there. I'd probably try this place again for dinner if I was in the area. Chances are that's not going to happen. read more

Our party arrived in waves but the waitress continued to check on us after each new person arrived to see if we needed anything. Really appreciated that and she didn't seem annoyed at all. I got the Mac and cheese with a side of Brussels sprouts with bacon. Everything was good although I should have just split the mac and cheese with my friend who also got it as the serving was plenty for 2 people. My friend ordered Riesling and said she liked sweet wine so the waitress added some simple syrup to make it sweeter. As a Dogtown resident, I was thrilled to see a new addition to our charming neighborhood. I came here for brunch a few weeks ago and boy oh boy, it is hands down my new brunch place! The inside is rustic with a warm feel to it, like you're going to a bar you've been at your whole life. Everyone is extremely friendly and attentive who works there. I got the salmon with grits cake. The salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned; it melted in your mouth. The portion was also really generous, around 6 ounces. The grits cake was creamy with a flavorful crust and it heated up perfectly later since I took home half of my food as leftovers! The arugula salad had a light dressing that was perfectly seasoned. The egg was also perfectly cooked and they made it exactly how I requested, with a hard white and semi-hard yellow. YUM. My friend got the breakfast in bread. There was tons of cheese, caramelized vegetables, and huge chunks of sausage. I'm not sure where they source their bread from but it was chewy and flavorful. I posted a photo of this delicious dish and the salmon so go check them out to get your mouth watering! Drinks were delicious--the Italian Spritz was refreshing. We tried tiger rolls--spicy and filling--and the fondue board with sausage, apples, bread and asparagus. The house burger was pretty thick and had a great flavor and was delicious. Additionally roasted to perfection with a hint of pink within. Neither the seafood nor the wings were to my taste. The wings were quite flavorless due to lack of seasoning, however the jalapeño ranch sauce compensated for them. The fish needed a little more flavor and could have been crispier. For blander taste buds (tongues), this is your place but for someone like me, who enjoys more seasoning, you might want to venture elsewhere. This review is long overdue. I had dinner here with a friend back in March. We made a dinner reservation for 6:30 p.m. and when we arrived they had our table waiting for us. The hostess was very friendly and as she seated us she was very welcoming. We were sat at a 2 top kind of in the middle of the dining room. Our location was not the best, but it worked. Our server came over with a bottle of water and filled our glasses while also making recommendations for drinks from the cocktail menu. We both agreed that the lavender spritzer sounded refreshing so we each ordered a glass. We looked over the menu and decided to order an appetizer to start; we both love cheese and so we opted for the fried burrata. When our server came back we placed our appetizer order and each ordered a main dish. My friend ordered the mushroom gnocchi and I ordered the roasted chicken; we agreed to share our meals. The appetizer came out, but we did not have plates on our table so we had to wait and ask a member of the waitstaff for 2 plates which were brought over quickly. The fried burrata was crispy on the outside and gooey and cheesy on the inside; the sauce was a nice compliment and the arugula was a nice way to add color to the dish. We both enjoyed this dish. Our server came to check on us a few times and made sure we had water when we asked for more. When our food came out both meals were plated well and looked good. I cut a piece of the roasted chicken and made sure to dip it in the jus and grits for a decent first bite. It was good, but not great. I liked the chicken and the grits, but not the jus, it tasted kind of salty and left my mouth dry. I guess I just don't like gravy type sauces. I also don't think I realized the chicken was on a bone so it made sharing a it more difficult. I still managed to cut some chicken off with the fork and knife to share with my friend. She also was able to pass over some of her mushroom gnocchi which was really really good! I should have ordered that dish and I will get that next time! Our server came to check on us as we were midway through our dinner and asked if we needed anything else. We were okay though so didn't ask for much other than our check. When our check came we each paid our half and were on our way.
