Stone Turtle always hits for brunch! I had made plans with friends to go to the pool but the weather wasn't cooperating, this was the best alternative to spend time together and enjoy a great meal! We always get the bottle to make our own mimosas and it's truly the best and most cost effective. I got the burger and it was delicious and cooked perfectly. I've loved everything I've had here and am making a conscious effort to come back for dinner.

City dining in November with my wife's college friend. We chose Stone Turtle. some place new to everybody. This little quaint restaurant in Dogtown is small and intimate. It has basic burgers to nice steak dinners. I had the steak entree special 12 oz strip steak and saffron risotto. The steak was cooked to medium as I like it and the risotto was a nice mouthfeel soft melt in your mouth flavorful.. I added a white wine to go with my steak choice A Hess Chardonnay this was easy drinking and slightly fruity . We opted out of the desert menu. A tough decision although the desert menu was tempting. I recommend this restaurant you will not be disappointed with Stone Turtle

Absolutely wonderful experience. Went in Friday evening & the staff & owner were so attentive trying to find us a table. Only took a few minutes til a bar spot opened up. I have been here many times but tried some nee items this go around. Steak au poivre Caesar salad Truffle aioli & parm fries. Caesar was so good we ordered a 2nd one! The steak was melt in your mouth. The grits were amazing- a pan fried(?) slice. Crispy yet creamy & oh so delicious. Bar is dark & chill atmosphere. Miley the bartender makes some mean cocktails. And the cocktail ice cubes have turtles or dragons in them. Just a fun little thing to remember them by.

Cozy ambiance but the food and service seemed very slow. I ordered cheese curds and a side house salad. Asked for some ranch to go with the cheese curds (was charged extra for the dipping sauce - strange that the curds don't come with a sauce and would have been nice to be told that it's an extra charge for jalepeno ranch). The cheese curds were good. I did end up sending the salad back after two bites because it had goat cheese on it. (Totally my fault for not realizing that there was goat cheese. Was still surprised to see it on my bill but did not complain as it was my fault for not remembering that it had it on there. I would have asked to have it removed, and the waiter did offer to have the chef remake it.) The other diners with me did enjoy their meals and libations.

Amazing service by Genesis. Steak was just okay but very fair price. A little too much sauce. Amazing drinks, great price & tons of options esp na. Buratta salad very gd. Salmon nice, grits a little too salty but loved them as an option.

Our whole family loves the giant stone turtle by the Zoo so the name of this restaurant caught my eye. It is several blocks south of the eponymous statue, and the restaurant likes in the heart of Dogtown. The restaurant is dived into two areas, a dining room and a bar area. There are a mixture of booths and tables, with most seating 4 people. The interior is welcoming and has a warm vibe to it. The acoustics were somewhat loud, but that was the only complaint. Our server Genesis was very enthusiastic and attentive. There were a large number of beers on draft and a good selection of cocktails. The food I'd describe as american fare mixed with asian themes. We got Tiger Rolls which were crab rangoon in egg roll form, some ribs with asian seasoning ,and a brisket dip and fries. All three were very good. The brisket dip was HUGE and I ended up taking all of it home. Overall this is a good addition to the Dogtown neighborhood and it is worth checking out.

The food was really good and tasty! The calamari was pretty airy. The steak and chimichari was melt in your mouth and the brisket tasted so good. The servers were fast and helpful! The resturant was nice but you could also wear jeans

We came here for Father's Day and we did enjoy our meal. I got the pork chop and it tasted pretty good and was seasoned very nicely. I wish the menu had a few more options. I also got the watermelon drink and it was very good and refreshing. I also asked for it to be sweeter and they did that. We got there right when it open and it seemed like it did take a little while for our food to get to our table. But overall, the service was good.

We had a good dining experience here on a Sunday evening. Our server was attentive and friendly. They have a small menu with some daily specials available. The dining room is cozy. We got the steak frites and salmon dinner. Both were very good! The steak frites was our favorite out of the two - the French fries were delicious & steak was flavorful, a good portion, and cooked to perfection! I really enjoyed the grilled salmon and asparagus but wasn't a huge fan of the potatoes that came with the salmon meal. Overall, a good dinner and would come back for these entrees!

Food service and ambiance was great. Tiger rolls are spicy but good. Mocktails are authentic

This place is great. Cozy, but modernistic while rustic, in an up and coming area. The dining room was packed with locals, and there wasn't a darn thing that came out of the kitchen that Disney look dynamite! Genesis quickly took me under her wing (gluten allergy) and guided me through the menu. She was darling, caring and cheerful. We started with the fondue, which was just off the chain! Creamy and delicious, and Genesis kept the bread on a separate plate. We split a Caesar, which wasn't quite as good as I anticipated from seeing it -- don't get me wrong -- still very good, but I think i wanted a little more creaminess and garlic. Steak au poivre was our entree .... And oh my ..... I would have rented more solace in my stomach if I could! Cooked to perfection and bursting with deep, rich flavors. Do it -- go off the beaten track and find this joint, especially if you are spending time in the park, or are Muny. We love you, Genesis!

We had gone here when they first opened. I have to say, I don't remember the food too much from back then. I'm sure it was good, but then Covid happened and hadn't been back....until recently. Boy have I been missing out. Its not a huge place (I wouldn't say it's small either), but the ambiance is nice, sitting at the corner of Tamm and Clayton in Dogtown. I started the night off with a dirty martini. I know, they are known for their bourbons, but that's just not me. It was a VERY good martini. We then got the Polynesian Ribs for an app. You get 4 ribs with a salad next to it. The ribs were sweet and tender and delicious and the salad was good too especially mixing it with the glaze from the ribs. For mains, I got the grilled salmon. It was in a sweet glaze and it was cooked perfectly. The glaze also mixed in a little bit with the new potatoes that were on the plate for a nice sweet and savory mix. My wife got the brisket sandwich. It was huge!!! The brisket was thick sliced and gouging with cheese. Of course she couldn't finish it, so I grazed on it the entire next day. The fries that came with it were pretty awesome as well. All around this was a fantastic dining experience and the service was great! DO IT!!!

Great date night spot if you're looking for a casual dinner with a good ambiance. Brisket dip is my go to, always enough for a to-go box.

Also they had the most adorable bathroom with framed high school photos of celebrities (St. Louis is the most high school fixated city in America, IYKYK). The service was friendly but a bit uneven, considering how empty it was when we first arrived. There were some long waits for drinks, and a couple of mix-ups. I believe the main source of confusion was that one big check had been started, but with people coming and going at different times, it had to be split into separate checks on the back side so people could pay before leaving. I do recommend them for happy hour and plan to return.

After browsing the menu, the guy came over to take our drinks. I went with Pele the fire God. I was ecstatic because finding a drink with passion fruit in Stl is like finding the golden ticket! It's a rare treat but when you find it, it's worth it! It came out super fast and was a bit more frothy than I would have liked. In fact, I felt like there was more froth than alcohol but the little I did get made it worth it. For my second drink I went with the limoncello spritz but got it with sprite instead of club sodas. For the record, I've only had a couple spritzes in my life but i really enjoyed this one. It was light, refreshing, and def a cocktail to sip, sit back and enjoy. Everyone in my party was laughing and having a great time. The service was outstanding and the drinks were equally matched. Fair warning there's only one restroom, so hydrate accordingly!
