One of my favorite brunch and dinner spots. I love that you can make reservations here for weekend brunch. The staff is super friendly and is always amazing. For brunch, the omelets are my favorite. I don't know how they do it, but the fries have a coating on them that make them super crispy. The side salad is refreshing with goat cheese, and they have fried mushrooms as croutons. Soo good. I also appreciate their coffee. They do an individual French press per order. For dinner, I love the wings. They make in house pickled cucumbers to serve on the side instead of celery, super unique and tasty. They have an amazing selection of whiskeys and a well thought out cocktail menu. read more

This was probably the third time my spouse and I have been here, all for a pre-Fox show. First time was very good, second time, his meal was good and mine was just fine. This time, unfortunately, both were borderline inedible. I am not one to write a poor review, but for a place marketing itself with prestige prices, it does not back it up with quality. We started with the egg rolls and a smoked old fashioned each. Then had the steak frites and fish and chips. The appetizer was fine, nothing special but the sauce was good. Cocktails were nice as well. However, the entrees were a different story. The steak was ordered medium rare...but came out grey and slimy. My spouse likened it to chewy gyro meat. The fish, supposed to be in a cornmeal batter, was not at all crispy and sandy in texture. All of it was bland even with lemon for the fish. The strange thing is it seemed if the fish was fried, the oil was just not hot enough, cause I don't know how you get that texture unless it was baked? The one saving grace on each of our plates were the fries, which were quite good. I get things not being five star artisanal cuisine all the time. Maybe it was just an off night. But the bill with a tip was $120, and we could have gotten a better meal from a fast casual restaurant for nowhere near that price. We didn't complain to the waiter. He seemed to be the only staff member in the entire restaurant, and he was quite nice even despite having to run around everywhere. Having had good experiences and seeing so many other glowing reviews, I'd normally be willing to give a place another chance. But the entrees were unappetizing, I definitely not be coming back, and as this was maybe the most poor food experience I've had in years, I will sadly be warning others to stay away. read more

The manager/owner is rude and condescending. Informed the staff that the Brisket Dip was all fat. The response was we usually tell people that when they order. We were not told that, but were told it's a big sandwich. The manager then came over and basically said we were lying that she was one of his best waitress and that there were lots of restaurants around and Stone Turtle may not be the restaurant for us. I really wanted to like this place more! The positives: The vibe is cool and the server was awesome. The tiger rolls were yummy! There are three to an order, and each one is a perfect app for one person. It's basically some yummy cream cheese and crab inside a fried wonton; what's not to love? The sauce is killer. Definitely order this if you go! The negatives: I had the brisket sandwich, which was so salty I couldn't actually eat it. I felt badly about this, because the sandwich was HUGE. It's now sitting in my fridge from last night and I know I'm going to have to toss it out, which is a waste. I had sauvignon blanc to drink, and its flavor profile was only okay. The main issue is that it was room temperature, which isn't ideal for a crisp white wine. I also tried my friend's fish and chips. It was tasty, and I'd probably get that if I went back. We had an awesome time at the Stone Table. My wife, my brother, and myself enjoyed a great meal and fellowship. Billy was our server, and he was super attentive and helpful. We made reservations through Open Table, and the recognized and honored it. There is neighborhood parking, so I could see this might be an issue if you are driving vs ubering. I ordered the pork chop. It was flavorful and tender. The Polenta and Brussel Sprouts were cooked just right, and complemented the plate. I was interested in dessert but their selection was limited, and I chose not to order any. We did order 3 appetizers. My wife ordered the Cabrese, and it was presented well and very tasty. My brother ordered the calamari he was it was tender, and had a little spice to it. He said he would preferred a red sauce vs the sauce that was served with it. I ordered the Caesar Salad. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very cute. Our server was fantastic and very sweet!!! The only real issue for me personally was the food. The cost is kinda pricey, but most importantly, our food was so salty it was inedible. We had the brisket poutine and while we expect some level of saltiness with fries and cheese curds, the brisket itself along with the gravy was like licking a sat lick. 2 bites and $40 later I'm back at home actually eating a meal. My friend ordered the bacon eggs benedict sand while she said it was good, she was surprised how breast and thick the English muffin was. Overall, I wouldn't likely be back. We checked this place out on a Friday night around 6 PM. When we walked in, they had the curtains in the doorway, so felt like we were going in the wrong entrance. I'm guessing to block the sun during sunset, but it was odd. Tinted glass would be much more suitable. The guy at the host stand asked if we had reservations. We didn't. We think they would be too busy and they were not. He acted like they were though. He said he could maybe give us this tiny table next to the door, but only for an hour. We agreed and sat down. Turns out said dude was our server. He sat down midnight menus and asked if we knew what we wanted to drink and we weren't sure yet then he went away for quite a while came back, took our drink order and started to walk away. We grabbed him and told him we were ready to order and did. We had the steak with polenta cake and asparagus, and the pork chop with grits and Brussels. The food was fine. Sadly I forgot to take pictures. We agreed everything was over salted, but still edible. There was an awkward moment where the server came and asked if our food was good, then immediately said you're good, good OK and walked away without us even responding to him We were there for probably an hour and only a few other tables came in. The rest sat empty, which seemed a little strange because they acted like they were so busy. The other server seemed much more interactive with her guests, so had we had her, maybe it would've been a bit different. read more

Two Words: Stone Turtle. The ambiance, service, music, and quality is unmatched. There were no mist steps throughout my evening experience here. Absolutely incredible. Unassuming establishment that exceeds all expectations. Open Table reservation but opted for the bar upon arrival. The staff are dedicated, genuine, know what you're looking for and deliver, and are attentive through every phase of the meal with natural level of excellence. Manager was observed to spend time with patrons while sharing knowledge and suggestions with cask libations. I admired how he made it an experience; not pushy, not pretentious, just having a nice time with patrons. The staff are very knowledgeable about their products, which are high quality and very reasonably priced. My meal was superb. The brisket dip is bribed and has a tender, silky texture. You can't miss with the salad and this option. The smoked bourbon is on point and a delight to be honored in completing the last step with the pour. The staff make note you decide how long the bourbon permeates through the smoke. And they don't muddle; they circle the glass with the orange - Indicative of how the cocktail should be made. The lava cake is light, airy and flavorful and pairs well with the vanilla bean ice cream. I am already scheming my next visit given I am from out of state. Our first visit at Stone Turtle was so impressive that I wanted to end the year with another visit just before we turn the leaf of time. However, our visit last night was but an empty shell of the first. When we came here the first time, our waitress was attentive, our drinks and food were correct and prepared well, and everything we had was absolutely delicious. I had the pork chop then which came out perfect and tasty, had a cocktail and tried a couple of the local draughts. Last night, however, was a bit of a struggle. I wanted to order the same beer that I had last time. It arrived to the table without a problem and it was correct, however, my husband's drink was not correct. He ordered a draught but was brought some random beer in a can. Also, he wanted a porter and pretty sure was given a lager instead which was quite disappointing. Neither the waitress nor the bar tender came to ask if he would want a substitution but we were also not informed that his first choice was unavailable when he ordered it. It was the strangest thing! We had our drinks. His was incorrect but he drank it anyway and we enjoyed the bar snacks we ordered which was the pork belly and cashews. Fortunately, that was really good. We ordered our entree the same time we placed our appetizer order. About 45 minutes later, our food was delivered to our table. I ordered a 12 oz NY strip steak, asked them to prepare it medium rare and my husband ordered the salmon which the waitress suggested at medium. My steak came out more toward medium to done and with every bite, I could smell something like a lighter fluid smell. I was struggling eating it due to the smell and the fact that it was overcooked. I absolutely did not take the leftover home because it would have just gone straight to the garbage. We ordered another round of drinks while we waited for our food and after we finished, we did not stay for dessert. My wallet was $93+ lighter (before tip) and the only thing I really enjoyed was my $7 beer and a $5 pork belly chunks. Service was so-so this time around, too. We did get the same exact table from our last visit which was the only consistent thing there was. So you might say, why didn't you just send it back? I thought about it but that's honestly not my personality plus it would have taken even longer to get my meal. Anyway, perhaps sometime next year we will come back and give this place another chance. I do hope that when we do, we get better service, the correct things we order, and food quality that will compare to that of our first visit. Obsessed is an understatement! First time here, considered canceling for a minute because I'm tired and an early bedtime didn't sound bad, but I REALLY wanted to try it so I forced myself there. Tinted windows, beautifully decorated for Christmas, dark atmosphere. Alcoholic beverages come with little turtles in the ice that you get to keep. The waitress, Genesis, was OUTSTANDING. Best server I've had in a long time. She knew the restaurant like the back of her hand, had the best ability to describe every dish in the most tasteful of ways and made it feel like she was a long time friend. She's bubbly, positive, timely and knows the perfect Dos and Donts for the food service industry . Plus, she has an amazing memory! I didn't see her have to write anything down or make any corrections with a full section. I'd highly suggest sitting in her section if you can! And the food. Dude, THE FOOD. The truffle fries were an amazing start to the night. My steak was delicious with every bite. It was cooked more medium than medium rare but every bite still had me craving more. So glad we picked Stone Turtle to celebrate my thesis defense and the completion of my PhD. Food, ambience, and service were all fantastic. A reservation ahead of time is a must. We booked our group of 8 for 5pm as soon as they opened on a Wednesday evening. By 6pm they were completely full. Even with that being the case, we were able to have great conversation without having to yell (a pet peeve of mine). Our server, Billy, handled our group like a BOSS! The food was delicious. The salmon was perfect and I LOVED the potatoes because I. love. horseradish. I would snort it if that was an option. My husband's Steak au Poivre was fantastic. I went to Sunday brunch with some friends, and we will all definitely be back. 2 of us made it on time and enjoyed some boozy coffee while waiting. Since the others were slacking, we also grabbed some Tiger Tails as an appetizer. Think of what would happen if you put together an egg roll and a crab rangoon. This is the beautiful offspring. Once the rest of the party made it in, we all picked different dishes: chicken and waffles, poutine, salmon avocado toast, and the dog town omelet. I think everyone enjoyed each dish. The poutine wasn't authentic to Canada, more inspired by, but I would still recommend it. Portion sizes were pretty generous (only one of us could finish). As were the alcohol pours. Some of the other reviews were critical of the service, but I thought it was good. We arguably stayed a bit long, but the wait staff was polite, helpful with suggestions, and the right amount of attentive. Went in for a date night on a warm summer evening. The inside is dark, definitely better for colder weather. We stood at the host stand for 6-7 minutes without any staff acknowledging us (despite a couple of servers walking around the mostly empty dining room). Because no one came to seat us or say hello, we went to seat ourselves at one of the bar high tops. Before we could even sit, the bartender snapped from across the bar "Did someone tell you that you could sit there?" At that point we decided to leave -- not sure why the service was so poor and the bartender so hostile when the restaurant was mostly empty. I went to Sunday brunch with one of my friends. Parking was easy. You could park everywhere near the restaurant. When we both arrived at around 10 am, there wasn't a waiting line. Little torn on the star for this - I would lean on the 3.5 side of it. It is a very small place so reservation is definitely recommended. Its a dimly lit interior with a friendly vibe. Seemed like a place equally for couples and groups of friends as well. Their drink menu was very nice and we eagerly ordered a Mexican Lady and Vieux Carre. Both the drinks were very well made and it was all what I had expected from my Vieux Carre. My kids shared a Virgin Blood Orange and said it was very nice. For starter we had the Fried calamari - it was a twist on the usual Calamari, fried bits of calamari with greens, jalapeños & shallots. We liked it a lot. I was also in the mood for a Caesar salad and we split one. It was again done differently with kale and other greens, shredded thin and tossed with the dressing and croutons. Very tasty! For entree, I had the Salmon. I like my salmon fully cooked but my salmon piece was the tail piece which meant it was less fatty and more on the tough side. The sauce for the salmon was on the sweet side and it was overall an okay dish. My husband had the Pork chop and mentioned the same as being a just okay dish. My son's Tagliatelle was however quite good with a strong creamy mushroom sauce - very rich and yet very flavorful. We decided to split a chocolate lava cake with the bourbon sauce on side. I was so excited when my hubby told him he wanted to eat at a place we have never been just me and him!! I have wanted to try Stone Turtle in Dogtown. As you know Dogtown is not known for convenient parking, so we parked several blocks away..but didn't mind the walk. We were a few minutes early for our Reservation time... Yes.. YOU NEED A RESERVATION!!! But was seated quickly. The Atmosphere is nice. I feel they were still on Covid protocol as I think they could of had a few more tables or it could be a staffing issue. We ordered cocktails and appetizers. My drink was The Aviation... way to start for me so it was a sipping all through dinner drink. The couple next to me suggested next time to have them add a shot of Simple Syrup. Not my favorite drink. The Calamari with Lemon Aioli was very good. Our favorite was the Appetizer Special off menu of French Onion Soup!!! It was one of the Best we have had. My hubby ordered Fish and Chips.. this was a hard pass. The fish had absolutely No flavor.. wasn't seasoned. My entree of the Mushroom Tagliatelle was again flat with flavor. It was missing all the good flavors of Garlic, salt and pepper. The Bar looked cool so maybe another drink and an appetizer in there will be our next trip... maybe. PS.. So glad I can come back and sit at my corner of the bar at Stone Turtle. I had to giggle how they had areas marked off with blue tape so customers would not sit at certain areas at the bar. They're taking the social distancing seriously. My usual stool was available, so I was a happy drinker. One of my favorite summer drinks is a, Boulevardier. The Compari makes a refreshing cocktail to sip while visiting with a good friend. Norma my BFF enjoyed a, Aviation. If you're a fan of Gin, you'll love it, too. We both needed something to nosh on, while we enjoyed our cocktails and chatted. Norma knew immediately that she wanted the, Pork & Cashews. I gotta agree with her, how can you go wrong with a salty mixture of pork belly & cashew nuts. Yum-Yum. For me, I went with, Tiger Roll. It was my first time and it will not be the last. They were f-ing amazing. The serving size was, 3 rolls. If you order these on my recommendation, I suggest you do a double order. Because, I'm telling you now, you will not want to share them. These rolls are wontons stuffed with; spicy crab, shrimp and cream cheese. Then for dipping, they're served with a Cilantro Jam. I'm one of those people who thinks, cilantro taste like soap. However, this jam won me over. It provided a nice splash of extra flavor when you dabbed it on your wonton. We needed a second cocktail. For me, I had to have my all-time favorite, a classic, Manhattan. If you've read my previous review - they do them right here. I loved it and I had it on the rocks. Norma, got a little adventurous and tried a, La Socialista. It was a perfect blend of; Rum, Blood Orange, Lime Juice and Vanilla. Rum and Vanilla for me personally is always a winner. We had only been here one other time and had a great experience. We loved the food and I recall our server being fun. I was looking for a place to make a reservation for eight people on the Friday before Christmas and thought about Stone Turtle and they were able to accommodate us. There's a big table right when you walk in the door. Unfortunately, it was a little chilly and every time the door opened, we were blasted with cold air. I realize there's not much they can do about it, but beware if you have a large group when it's cold outside. We all enjoyed our cocktails. I had the La Socialista and didn't stop at one! We ordered fried cheese curds, fried calamari, and the fondue board as starters for the table. The cheese curds were good. The fondue board was good as well. The only problem with it is that it's a heavy board which made it a little tricky for all of us to access it so we just kept passing plates around. I did not like fried calamari at all. There was so much lettuce on it you would have thought it was a salad. I've never had lettuce on calamari to begin with. And it was barely fried. The palest fried calamari I ever did see. The texture was way off for me. I ordered the brisket dip for my entree because it sounded really good. It was not. It tasted more like corned beef - and looked like it too. It was really salty and dry. I couldn't eat it. Our fabulous server, Anastasia, had me order something else and I chose the burger. I don't know what happened in the kitchen, but my burger didn't come out until everyone was finished with their meals. The burger was good though! Apparently a tip is included on the bill for a party our size. We're fine with that but we weren't aware and I'm sure it's our fault for not seeing it on the menu or somewhere. But the receipt didn't tell us what percentage we were being charged. We figured that out and it's less than we would normally tip and there was nowhere to put an additional tip. We asked Anastasia and she said just write it in somewhere and change the total and she thanked us. I think it would be nice if the percentage was in the receipt and there was an actual spot to add more. Overall it was a good experience and we had a good time. We've had great experiences at Stone Turtle before, but tonight's experience was not ideal. Our waitress was very nice and made a great recommendation on my pork chop and brussel sprouts. They both tasted fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the mac and cheese. Instead, the waitress brought out wings. She admitted she clicked the wrong order button, and we weren't upset since it was an honest mistake. We didn't want to make a big deal of it so just said we would eat the wings instead. The wings were alright. A few minutes later, they still brought out the mac and cheese. It was what you would expect from the short amount of time we waited. It was completely cold, soupy noodles with full corn flakes dumped on top. We had this dish before, so I included the first photo of what we expected. The second photo is whatever the chef thought was acceptable to leave the kitchen. We still cannot believe that would be acceptable to send out, especially since we didn't expect it to still come. In the end, the waitress said the manager would just charge us for the wings and not the mac and cheese. We ended up paying MORE for what we did not order (but accepted). We just wanted what we ordered and had higher expectations on quality and taste. On a side note, the bathroom's cleanliness was absolutely disgusting for what you'd expect in a nice restaurant. Visited for the first time for date night. We made a reservation for 5:00pm - I would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time as we entered with an influx of people waiting to come in. Our lovely wait staff for the evening was Shardae. She was great! Very attentive, helpful, and professional. We asked about portion sizes and she did not lie. The portion sizes were quite large and reasonable for the price. My partner ordered the brisket dip for his entree and I ordered the Polynesian ribs with a side of the Parmesan Frites. We also split an order of the Turtle Mac and cheese and a house salad. I will say, we could've split the fries that came with his meal....so many fries! Even as a side, the Parmesan frites was a whole bowl which was great. The Ribs (listed as an order of 4 but I was blessed with 5!) we're pretty good. The sauce was delicious. The Turtle Mac and Cheese, I was bit a Leary about due to the corn flakes, but the dish in total was very good! The salad was enjoyable as well, great on portion size for sharing. The only thing unimpressive were the Portobello croutons due to a lack of flavor, but otherwise, no complaints. The ambiance of the restaurant was casual with some romantic components. The restaurant is split with a dining room and bar area. We will definitely plan to be back. read more

This place literally gets the most 3 star review, the most neutral restaurant I have ate at in awhile. Every good thing came with a negative, as in, the steak was cooked perfectly but had no seasoning or bold flavors to it. The Pasta was very fresh tasting but again, was just bland. The server was very kind and recommended what I should have ordered and maybe if I would have gone with the recommendation it would have been better, but it was not. I don't think I would go out of my way to ever go back here. read more

An absolute gem in the heart of Dogtown! Perfect spot to catch up with old friends, share some apps and enjoy some delicious cocktails! Smoked old fashioned was entertaining and yummy, all other cocktails as well.m (known for whiskey but have tons of other fun drinks!) We ended up ordering a ton of apps throughout our time there but cannot wait to come back for a more traditional dinner. Food came out super quick, service was awesome - we loved Genesis! Must order: cheese curds, tiger roll, calamari & caprese. Super good: fondue (the sausage is amazing) Bummed I was too full to try the Caesar salad - looked great in passing. read more

If you like good cocktails, this is the place for you. They have a great selection of signature cocktails and all of the old favorites. This restaurant is in Dogtown and of course it exudes charm. The bar area is cozy and well lit. Very nice if you like to eat at the bar like I do and watch the bartender make drinks. It is not a huge place but it has plenty of room for large parties. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. I know we started with calamari and it was good along with all of the other food we got. Nice place and in the cutest of neighborhoods. read more

This place was absolutely breathtaking. Shardae was an absolute joy of a server, complimenting both my mother and myself. The food was PHE NOM EN AL. Best meal I've had in quite a while, i got the house burger and i don't even eat red meat like that. The burger was juicy, tender, flavorful as heck. The bacon jam was ridiculously good even though I hate bacon. Like I've never had such a good burger. My mom got the pork chop, which was also amazing. The Brussels sprouts were perfect, and the polenta paired nicely with it. Although I really don't eat pork it was so juicy and the char on it was perfect. Highly HIGHLY recommend, especially for a date or nice night out. read more
