The setting is the driving force of why this business does well. It has water view with boats and the picturesque moments. Inside there is plenty of seating with cooler temp on hot days. Modern style indoors. Staff are friendly but not quite on top of it. Our drinks needed to be refilled, not the end of the world though. The margarita pizza was ok. Tons of watery sauce on a fluffy dough on a few heaps of cheese. It was just ok. I think I'd only be back for the view. read more

Had a wonderful experience at the event space in Stone Harbor Pizza Pub! The staff here is awesome and were hustling hard to make the event a huge success - from passed appetizers to a delicious buffet and wonderful selection behind the bar. It looks like the downstairs space was well appointed as well. A great option in a bustling part of town for drinks and eats! read more

Walked in for a couple of slices - no line, friendly counter service. Pretty cool bar with nice seating area where you can look at on the bay. Unfortunately, even on the very hot and humid July night we were there they didn't have the air conditioner on so we decided to get a couple of slices to go. We grabbed two slices of the margarita pizza. My wife thought it was OK. I thought it was terrible. The marinara was not very good and tasted like Ragu. The mozzarella was not the buffalo I was expecting. The crust was thin, but the flavor of the crust was not very good. I might go back for the atmosphere and have a couple of drinks but not for the pizza. read more

I enjoy going to restaurants that get unfair beef from disgruntled ex workers (you don't know the situation, as the situation should always remain confidential) or entitled folks (never satisfied or just bitter) and have people like that being proven wrong time every time. Yes, especially at a time when many small businesses are struggling, this is still happening but they just don't care. My inner Dean Martin would say it only needs more gravy, and my own chutzpah/ego even made a polite suggestion about it. But on our next nostalgia trek, I'd eat these meatballs again in Stone Harbor among the great listing of options we had. Service was very kind, personable and efficient too. And the waterfront view was beautiful. So good! Another wonderful memory together. read more

I am not sure why the ratings are so low for this business but we had a good experience for lunch in early October. We were able to sit with our little group on the deck in the back and we shared a bunch of different items- pizza, chicken fingers, fried mac and cheese, brushetta... it was all good! My niece especially loved watching the birds fly over the boats in the bay while we wait. But be careful- I saw a seagull try to steal some food from another table! read more

Stopped in to feed 5 hungry kids and myself. I was in a hurry to rush home since I was drained from spending an hour on the Blob. I wanted to order our food to go and maybe sit on the stools the lookout to the street. After we ordered and paid my gang decided they wanted to sit on their awesome back patio that overlooks the bay. The staff was happy to accommodate us. The "Stone Harbor" pizza was so delicious. We will definitely be returning. read more

My aunt and uncle picked this place and we went along for the ride. Overall it was very good. The place was not busy and the staff, especially the guy behind the bar, was super accommodating and nice to us. They have a good tap list and the beer was fresh and cold. We got a couple of pizzas and they were both very good... crispy, gooey, fresh ingredients good flavor. We also got the meatball appetizer (good) and a side of french fries, which were actually awesome french fries. Prices were reasonable and the restaurant itself was nice, clean and relaxing. I could see really spending some time here in the summer when the deck is open and you can sit outside. But even sitting inside, it was a fine experience and good food. A really nice little gem for a relaxed meal. read more

Not sure what's going on with these low reviews, this place offers good food, drinks and an amazing view. I live not far from here, so I frequent the pub often, and the pizza and beer selection are great. They offer an upscale dining area and plenty of choices for everyone on the menu! read more

We were here last year and had the 'new' spicy chicken sandwich. It was amazing! We've told multiple people about it. Went back tonight to have it again. It is not the same. Okay, but not amazing. They changed it. And with the subpar service, they need to bring it back. read more

The bad and the good... BAD: The Reeds bought Stone Harbor Pizza, the. Holding and the business. Our lovely waitress said the the owners were very eager to sell. GOOD: While the crust is not quite as good as the original Stone Harbor pizza, the Rushetta E Proscuitto pizza was absolutely outstanding! We also had the Brushetta pizza, but that was mediocre.$22 for 16" with 8 large slices was not a bad price. They also have a liquor license. They are currently renovating the outside dock area, but we had a lovely seat under the awning. We will be back. .,.. Summer 2019 update: great crust. Quick take out. Also lovely outdoor dining. Not sure why others rate this place so poorly. read more

When SHP opened the pizza was really good, not quite artisanal, but tasty with a crispy crust. I was just back there over the weekend and I could not believe how far quality the has fallen. We waited about twenty minutes in a not very crowded restaurant for a very disappointing pie. read more

I've been coming here for years and the service has always been consistent, quality of the food has been acceptable and never had a bad experience. We had the meatball pizza and loaded fries and everything was great tonight. Great casual dinning with a nice bay view. read more

We docked our boat and had beautiful service docking. Sadly- Mediterranean salad was simply field greens with a cheap processed feta along with 3 grapes tomatoes halved with a sprinkle of red onions and two cucumber slices. Not a value for $15. Sadly, my daughter was eating her Caesar salad until she came across a tiny bug...which happens sometimes in an outdoor restaurant. However- when my son found bug in his spaghetti...it wasn't a coincidence. Also, the pizza has a cheese that is of the lowest quality grade and tastes 100% processed. Frozen pizza tasted better. Plates were dirty and had to ask for clean plates. The ambience is lovely overlooking the water but the cleanliness of the kitchen needs to be re-examined. And the bathrooms are pretty gross and filthy. read more

The pizza was hot, fresh and clearly made with high-quality ingredients like San Marzano tomatoes and sliced buffalo mozzarella cheese. 2 large pizzas was perfect for 4 people and we had plenty of leftovers! The Caesar salad was good, but basic, and had good dressing. The slices of the large pie, do not even compare to the size of the slices for the take-out slices. We thought that was very odd. Drinks and service were good. I always say, would I go back? Yes, I would go back here. read more

The location is great. The drinks are great. The salad is great. But the pizza is bad. It's been ruined, and I don't know why. The dough is very different, it feels like it might even be freezer pie crusts. It's super bland and boring, and that ruins perfectly good toppings. The dough tastes like cardboard and doesn't have any of the flavor that it used to have last year. We were disappointed eating the pizza, and probably won't be back unless they start making fresh dough again. read more

Normally I think the pizza is pretty good here but got a simple cheese pizza from here and it was terrible. Looked and tasted like a 7-11 pizza. Ended up throwing it away. The Mac and cheese bite we are hit with the kids. read more

Another restaurant destroyed by the GREEDS hotel people. This location actually had decent food at one time. Slow as molasses service and pizza served raw and uncooked. I am not talking about pizza that is cooked a little "light", this was gooey and raw. Our salads - the chicken tasted like the fake stuff they serve in airport convenience stores. Rubbery and chewy. They call themselves a Pizza Pub. However, if they wish to compete with someplace like the Watering Hull (who have a stellar beer selection) someone needs to pay attention to what selections are on tap. The day I was there, they had THREE separate white ales on tap. How about some variety? It's really sad - I have been going to SH since 1995 and the amount of mediocrity and outright crap that has come to this town in recent years - is downright depressing. Go to Macks if you want awesome pizza. read more

Long time stone harbor residents. First time visiting the new pizza pub. Pizza was outstanding. Thin crust pizza the way it should be. Crusty and perfectly seasoned. Reminds me of good New York and Italian pizza. Not doughy at all. Great selection of craft brews on tap ad well. A great way to take a break from the beach. read more

Sad that this place has turned into such a disappointment. And yes, I've been there several times since it was bought. Since that time, the service has been okay. But we usually sit at the bar, and they have decent specials at the bar for happy hour. This past week we walked in, saw two staffers and asked if we could sit inside. They said sure, pick any seat. We did. And we waited. And waited. And waited. The manager type woman was milling around the bar, so one of our party went up to her and asked if we had a server. She replied yes, she'll be right with you. We were within eyesight and earshot of the two servers, who were filling up waters are the bar. They were decided who got the next table. We were hopeful. Maybe those waters were for us! They were not. Neither was the server, who 'called' our table. She walked by us twice more to drop off a check and replenish drinks. Once again, one of us went up and asked, this time to the waitress herself, if we could get some waters and menus. She said she'd be right with us. And yet... you guessed it. Nothing. She picked up the check from the other table, and walked by our table. At this point, it was 18 minutes. I know because I have a three-year-old and he loves to ask the time. We sat down at 12:28. We ended up leaving at 12:49. That's crazy. And the waitress, who had yet to address or acknowledge us aside from when we asked her for service, had the nerve to ask as we are leaving: "you guys headed out?". Yup. And she didn't say anything, no apology from her, or any manager type. I counted. There were 5 other tables seated. Two servers. I know 'in the weeds'. That aint it. At least drop waters and menus. And speaking of...if you are the manager and you've been asked by customers about getting service, wouldn't you get the waters and menus yourself? Nope. She just stood there too. I am sure she felt it wasn't in her job description. So we sat. We waited. And we left. The pizza is slightly above average, not exceptional and not deserving of the high price. Terrible and I do mean TERRIBLE service. I can't remember the last time I walked out of a restaurant without ordering, being acknowledged or without an apology. YIKES. read more

So to start off the waiter was amazing very attentive and kind but the food was sub par the pizza isn't the best on the island.. the view is beautiful for sure and is the only reason Iv gone.. I ordered a cheese stake and that was pretty good but for the price of things it's not worth it.. they don't have specials also not many drink options when it comes to alcohol.. the lavender drink is ok but tastes more like syrup... better places for food on the island but the view during sun set is amazing read more

Stone Harbor Pizza Pub is a nice addition to the Stone Harbor restaurant scene. While serving a classic menu of pizza, salad, and sandwiches, the Pub has a more upscale vibe. They have a really nice dining room on the second floor, which is more accommodating for large groups, as well as tables on the dock by the water. read more

After 15 plus years of ordering pizza from SH Pizza on our vacations, we had a very disappointing experience. The large pizza used to be huge but this one was medium size and the taste was very bland. Not sure if there was a change of ownership or cutting costs with what seemed like a remodel. Next year we will need to go elsewhere. Delivery service with ordering on the phone and delivery itself was good so that was the 2 stars. read more

The last time we dined at "Sax At The Reeds" was soon after they opened, and it had not been good. My entree on that first visit had been so inedible, I took one bite and left the rest. That may have been a first for me. It was that bad. I didn't even ask for something else; I was so disgusted. This most recent experience was considerably improved. My wife and I were celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary a few days late, and when prompted during the reservation process, I had checked the box for "special occasion" without thinking much about it. It seemed rather incidental, but I thought it couldn't hurt. The staff at Sax did not disappoint. When we arrived at the front desk, the sharply-dressed gentleman working the host stand was engaging and personable, and when we answered that we did indeed have reservations, he guessed our name and welcomed us and congratulated us on our anniversary. He asked if we preferred a special table and offered a window seat if we liked. If we'd known they had a fireplace, we probably would have chosen to sit in front of that, but the window seat was lovely. We were soon greeted by Patrick, our server for the evening, and he arrived with two flutes of sparkling wine on the house and wished us a happy anniversary. Patrick was an animated and exuberant server who definitely knew his job, understood the food and wine, and had strong opinions about the menu. We were never in need of anything, but also never felt overwhelmed by his presence. A good balance. My wife began with the broiled oysters, which were phenomenal, and I had the steakhouse salad, which was surprisingly good for being an original take on a simple wedge. It was exactly what I wanted and a perfect size. Not too big or small and elegantly presented. For our entrees, Jane ordered the crab-stuffed flounder with lobster sauce on a bed of risotto, which she thoroughly enjoyed even though it's not something she would typically order. Jane has a very critical palette and is a great cook herself, so she's not easily pleased. She thought it was a delicious, well-balanced dish. I had been craving steak, an uninspiring selection, so I ordered the NY Strip with maître d'hôtel butter. While we enjoyed our wine, Patrick returned to offer me a choice of five different knives, displayed in a wooden box. He explained each one and asked for my choice. I told him I would go with his recommendation, and I got something simple called "The Knife," a hand-hammered piece of fine cutlery. The steak was perfectly cooked, although I personally found it under-seasoned. I like a salty finish on my red meat, so Patrick promptly brought me a small dish of fleur de sel, and we were in business. My sides were whipped potatoes and carrots, both of which were good, but the potatoes were presented as if plated with a large ice cream scoop, which made them appear fake diner potatoes. Even Jane called it out as an unusual choice. The carrots were perfectly cooked and had an almost citrus finish. For wine, we had selected a Chardonnay chosen by the sommelier as a special for the evening, and it was good but not transcendent, while the Chappallet red blend on the menu was absolutely exquisite. Powerful and smooth with a great finish. For dessert, I had planned to order the warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream that I had seen on the website, but it wasn't available. Instead, we ordered something called the Dubai Cheesecake. Dubai chocolate was something I was vaguely aware of, but wasn't entirely sure what it was. Patrick assured us that while the dish was hard to describe in terms of a flavor profile, it was a killer bit of confection. He wasn't wrong. It was crunchy and creamy, complex in its simplicity. A transformative dish, and we're not even big dessert people. I won't pretend that any of this was a bargain, but excellence rarely is. I'll admit to a bit of sticker shock when the bill arrived, so be prepared to drop a few bills. But if you're looking for great service and food, you won't find anything better at the Jersey Shore than Sax at the Reeds. It's worth a special trip.
