My wife and I visited The Boiler Room. We had visited a few times in the past also. Always have great food (especially that fireside pizza!!). And great staff & service. We were having a few beers and had the best bartender. A shout out to Zach. He was professional, so friendly and gave us superb service. He made our visit there so enjoyable. We look forward to visiting again. Hope to see you then Zach. There was another staff member there (forgot his name) and we met the manager also. All so great to talk to. All professional. Also, the atmosphere is so nice there also. Kudos to Congress Hall / Boiler Room on the staff they hire. Thank you for such a great time!!

Food is great, ambiance is dark and edgey, menu is limited if you are not looking to eat pizza! Service was quick

My husband had noticed this place on one of our walks around. We decided to go here for dinner our second night in town. It's a neat spot. I really like the antique speakeasy basement vibe. Music wasn't too loud, you could barely hear it and I loved that. We've heard in the regular season (which we'd never visit during) that it is crazy. However, it was pretty relaxed the night we were there. The food was fantastic! We both enjoyed everything we had and quite frankly I know shrimp cocktail seems simple, but this one was really good. It was so cool to watch them make the pizza just tables away from us, and it was lovely to have no one seated around us. Our server was great, except for a really weird flub at the end. She took the card from my husband and just never came back. It wasn't that busy but we assumed maybe she got caught up because she never even walked back by. Finally, we catch a glimpse of her and she's like, "Did I bring your card back?". I firmly told her no and that we'd been waiting on her to leave. The another server asked us if everything was okay. I was transparent with him that over 10 minutes had just gone by where she vanished with the card for the bill. It's a cool spot, great food, and overall the service IS great. It was just a bit of a weird ending.

We liked this dark moody bar like setting. The whole bar was full of locals and seemed to have a good relationship with the staff. Pizza was ok, menu wasn't big but the meat and cheese board was a great choice and we devoured the Caesar salad! The housemade croutons were delicious!

This is a cool spot, but the food and service were both mediocre. The server never brought us water or the correct amount of silverware as requested multiple times. The salad dressing was extremely tart and acidic. Pictured is the "margarita pizza"... this was just a normal cheese pizza with some basil thrown on. Cheese was very heavy. The other 2 pizzas we got were burned on top. I would definitely come back for a drink, but not for dinner.

Prompt service... but holy moly- TONS of flies...like everywhere. The drinks were great but the margherita pizza was sooooo spicy. Mustve been an off day for the kitchen??

Cool ambiance and bar. Good service. Limited food options but quality brick oven pizza. I'd definitely go back when I visit Cape May again.

***4 1/2 stars*** Boiler Room was the one place I really wanted to go during our recent Cape May debauchery weekend, pretty much entirely because it looked like it was literally in a boiler room and the food appeared to be at least edible. I'm high maintenance, but not at all. This was our first official stop for dinner this past Friday night. After being dropped off at Congress Hall by a friendly Uber driver (who reaffirmed this as a recommendation during the drive), we made our way into the building and found this place fairly easily. For any of the businesses within Congress Hall, there are numerous signs throughout with arrows pointing in the direction of said establishments. You will be stunned to learn that one of the arrows for Boiler Room pointed down into the basement, where we were promptly shown a table a few feet from the island bar. As an aside, all of Congress Hall was pretty spiffy/historic, and we would have had zero issue lingering after dinner at one of the other establishments if it hadn't been so crowded. As expected, the interior was a lot of fun to look at. It's sort of grimy but VERY intentional; it's like a gentrified unfinished basement. There's a lot of exposed stonework, but not like foofy English garden walls - it literally looks like you took a chisel to your own basement and got rid of the plaster. There was also a small DJ/dance area off to the side that presumably got pretty rocking after my bedtime. Lot of fun. Our waiter was a delight. Admittedly the service WAS a bit sluggish to start off (and to be fair, it seemed chaotic/busy initially), but he redeemed himself pretty quickly. He looked like a poor man's Eddie Redmayne and was very charming/friendly. Beyond that initial wait, I don't think there was any other point during the adventure where we were actively looking around for him. The orders were relayed promptly and correctly. I also of course forgot my credit card at the table, and he rushed over to us by the exit with it and rescued me from what would undoubtedly have been a very annoying Saturday morning. I had diligently been chugging 120 ounces of water a day for the prior week, so I had no qualms about perusing the cocktail menu immediately. I went with Lavender & Lemon ($14), which came as zero surprise to my dining companions, who have been down this road with me before (I have a floral beverage weakness). I'm not crazy about the citrus family, but this is definitely an exception - the lavender complemented and ultimately negated a lot of the lemon for me, and the sparkling wine gave it a nice kick. I had two and easily could have convinced myself to get a third if we had lingered a bit longer. We split the meatball app ($10) and a few pizzas, though I stayed true to the pepperoni ($16). I'm not usually crazy about getting toppings, but the pepperoni was strongly recommended by prior reviewers and deservedly so. The pepperoni had a nice smoky char to it, and was the only one of three pizzas not to survive the night. We topped this off with a chocolate chip cookie skillet/ice cream dish, which I'm starting to think is the most ubiquitous dessert of modern times. It was good, but several people at our table commented that while the skillet was hot, the cookie was not. That's kind of one of the big selling points of this dish in general, so I'm not sure exactly what went into the prep, but I'd get the cookie a bit toastier in the future. The price points to me were very reasonable; even taking into account that we're still at the edge of off-season, this is definitely a tourist trap kind of place, but you wouldn't know it from the cost. The bathrooms were...interesting. One of my chums came back commenting that it reminded her of a Macy's dressing room, which I can't really argue with. The bathroom stall doors are slatted so it DOES feel a little exposed, but you'd have to be a really creative peeping tom to do any damage there. The stalls themselves are pretty small but allow for just enough space for a personal sink, which I thought was a nice touch. There aren't a lot of basements I'd go out of my way to eat in, but this is one of them. Strong recommend.

Love love love Congress Hall. I'm a religious Cape May goer and you can't beat the atmosphere at Congress Hall so why not get the pizza to go and eat it on the lawn?? Just order to go, walk up the stairs and head out to the lawn with pizza, wine and the sunset! I got the pepperoni pizza and added mushrooms. Pizza is the perfect size for two! I got the pizza from the Boiler Room and I ordered the glasses of wine at the outside bar.

This place is really good and the food was great. It is in the basement of congress hall but it still gives a cool bar vibe. The pizzas were really good (pepperoni and arugula were the favorite). It has a underground feel and cool phone booths there too. We also got the burrata and meatballs. The cookie Sunday was also a hit. The service is great too

It was a nice late spring afternoon when we went so we opted for outside under their covered patio area. Our server was so knowledgeable, fun, and really made the experience that much better! He allowed us to unwind and enjoy the space and gave us lots of interesting information about the winery and its history. Including how they names their bottles which was a neat detail to take home to share (as we got a few bottles for souvenirs). We opted for tastings of their sangria (so cool they have a few options of these) and a flight of their other wines which were all great but our favorites were their summer sangria (with peach) and their sparkling white wine. We also got a few bites to eat as well. The food paired well with our wines and we left full, happy, and with wines to take home for all! Highly recommend Willow Creek if you are in the Cape May area. You will not be disappointed!!! Also they sell their farm fresh eggs so you can get those too!

It's easy to get to all the shops and eateries, but you aren't right in the thick of everything, which made for a more calm and relaxing stay. The hotel has complimentary bikes, and we were able to bike to town in just a few minutes. The hotel is small and there are only a few guestrooms. We stayed on the top floor and our window had ocean views which was such a treat. I was worried about the room being hot but the AC was extremely strong. Rooms are a bit dated and the carpet really needs to be replaced. The bed is super comfy and the bathroom is more updated, but new carpet would really make the room - the current carpet is like a funky green. We had to try the restaurant since it gets such great reviews and it definitely lived up to the hype. The lobster fra diavolo was sooo good and came with so much lobster meat. Breakfast is included in the stay and was so delicious. They have a screened in porch that overlooks the ocean and there's really no better way to start off your day. Everyone that works here is friendly and helpful, and there are little cute touches like complimentary drinks and snacks, a wine and cheese hour and beach items like umbrellas and chairs. Overall this is a super cute hotel - it's classy and beautiful and the perfect backdrop for photos, and the oceanfront location is prime.
