My wife and I were ready to enjoy a lunch at the shore. This was by far the worst meal I have had in a while. I had the turkey club panini. It was ok at best. It was a decent size, but had no wow factor. I know it's a sandwich. My wife had the margarita pizza, or should I say a piece of flatbread, diced tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. That's all it had. No seasoning, no basil nor oil. I honestly think a 5 year old with an easy bake oven could have done better. As for the drink, margarita with barely any ice. Nothing more enjoyable than warm drink on a hot summer day. This place blows. Overpaid garbage. read more

We ordered drinks and dinner from this place. I was surprised how small the cups were, pretty much finished it in three sips. The food was decent. I really liked the Salmon Po Boy. Coconut Shrimp and Guacamole Nachos were very good too. Staying at Icona Avalon hotel, this place comes handy, when you are too tired to go out to eat, and just want some relaxing time, enjoying small meal & drinks by the pool/hot tub. read more

A nice spot for drinks and apps! It's becoming a tradition for us to stop in here while on vacation in SH. Drinks are tasty, and we've always had great service. Kudos to Ryan and Tayi for exceptional service the other day!! Food is good, but I don't think it's their strongest category. Overall, it's definitely a nice spot that I'd say is worth stopping in. I love the atmosphere here; also the live music, been coming for the last 15 years or more when it was the Golden Inn. The food needs a little help. I had the mango chips n guac and there were (no joke) two tiny pieces of mango on top with a tiny tiny bit of diced tomatoes etc. I can't call salsa or pico, just a garnish! It would be great to see some more options like coconut shrimp and other seafood appetizers to share. read more

To sum it up in one sentence: Come here if you want to enjoy the nightlife and scene, but don't come here for dinner. I went with a small group for a late night dinner on a weekend night and there was a live band playing, as well as two bars-- the main one was pretty packed. There are three fire pits with seating around them, and maybe three cabanas. When I went to look at their menu online, I saw that it looks like you need to possibly book the cabanas if you want to use them, and the same can possibly be said for the seating around the fire pits as well. The place was very loud with the live band playing, not easy to have a conversation with. Also, the whole ground is covered with sand, because it's like, the beach. So don't wear cute shoes that the sand will wedge itself into and make your feet uncomfortable. We were seated right away though. Not much of a craft beer selection, even though they're right next to a brewpub. Food prices are reasonable considering the area. We started with the cheese fries, with the meat on the side and extra jalapeños. They were pretty good and filling in themselves. I ordered the red pizza. Everyone else got a burger. Everyone else were alright with their burgers. My red pizza order was switched with someone who ordered the white pizza. They just stood there until I had to raise my voice, and then they switched the pizzas and gave me my red pizza with a slice missing (the person who was incorrectly given my pizza had already devoured the first slice by the time they corrected our orders). But they didn't care. I was pretty angry about it all. The pizza came in a box and was pretty big for a personal pizza, but honestly it tasted terrible. Low quality cheese with almost no sauce. I've had microwave pizza that tasted better. I left pretty unhappy. I'd hate to have to be stuck with returning here for food again. read more

The sandbar village is a great restaurant if you're coming from the beach or wanting to dress cute and casual. They have a band playing and the waiters/waitresses are super friendly. In regards to COVID-19, all members of the staff wear masks and customers must have one on unless were at our tables. Though there is some bar seating (with screens in between every two or three seats), there is no bartender. This is helps prevent keep a big crowd around one area. The food is pretty good and reasonably priced. My biggest complaint is that we were seated by the band and could hardly hear each other at our table of six. The drinks are overpriced but my friends love their blueberry lemonade drinks and highly recommend them. Also, don't spend your money on the guac and chips unless it's all you want because the guac-to-chips ratio is ridiculous (check photo). Besides all of this, it's a fun restaurant and one of my friends favorite places to come to when we visit! read more

Beware of making reservations for a Fire pit or Cabana... We made a fire pit reservation for a 60th birthday celebration and unfortunately it rained all day and into our 7:00 PM reservation time. I called twice during the day because they have a 24 hour cancellation policy. They assured me that they would be ready for us unless it was raining. We showed up with our party just after 7:00 as the rain was ending. The area wasn't set up, the tarps over the fire pit areas were still filled with water and dripping into the seating area, the live music had been cancelled due to the weather and there was no music playing at all. The manager wouldn't come out to talk to us. Instead they sent out a young lady to tell us they would 'take care of it'. Instead, they kept $100 of the $250 rental fee. Terrible customer service and misleading 'rain' policy. read more

Don't be fooled by the cute location. This place was unbelievably terrible. My friend and I came here after a beach day for drinks and lunch. The drinks had absolutely ZERO alcohol in them. I got a vodka soda with lime and it tasted like lime juice and water mixed together. I figured I'd order a shot and mix that into my drink instead of sending it back. They gave me a shot of chilled water. Absolute insanity. I mean the audacity is just mind blowing. They had a lobster roll on the menu but failed to let us I know they were out of that menu item until half an hour after we ordered it and made us rush and pick something else on the spot. The food we ordered was less than average but we were hungry so we ate it. The only enjoyable food was the fries. Never coming back here again. read more

Spent $10 on an Uber to get to this bar where I get denied from being served alcohol because he "thinks" my ID is fake. I understand bars need to be strict with IDs but that was pathetic. Staff needs better training on IDs. People come from all over the states to hang out with family and friends in the summer and just because their ID is not from the east coast doesn't mean it is fake. The bartender looked like a idiot and the establishment just lost what could have been a $100+ tab. Do better. read more

Worst service I had.. drove 2 hrs to come to this place ..love coming to the shore to try new places to eat this one looked promising so me and my husband went sat down at the table waited 20-25 mins there was two servers on duty from what we could see and it wasn't busy at all they only had 3 other tables with small parties of people they where waiting on .. at one point the girls even looked our way and still decided not to come over and take our order after about 20 minutes of watching everyone else get waited on we left and went over to Avalon brew pup next door where the service was incredible and we felt welcomed .. had a great server sue that was more then happy to help us .. actually the sandbar waitresses could use more servers like her maybe they can learn a some customer service skills and how to make people feel welcomed... will definitely not be ever going back again .. great atmosphere shitty service don't go !!!!! read more

The Icona fancies itself a high-end establishment, but this particular bar area is anything but. The second star is ONLY for the ability to drink with my friends and stick my feet in the sand. Came for happy hour. The live music was depressing. I'd expect something more upbeat for a "beach bar." Service started out ok, but when the beach crowd started arriving, our server seemed to disappear. My biggest mistake was ordering chips and salsa for the table. We got maybe six stale chips and I've had better salsa from a Tostitos jar. The strangest part was the random inclusion of a few carrot and celery sticks. And for this privilege, I paid $8. Absurd. If you go, sit at the bar and order drinks - nothing more. The rest of it isn't worth it at all. read more

This place is trying to be a miami south beach dayclub when its just mediocre food in an artificial environemnt. All of the food is served in to go containers regardless of if you are taking it out. The food is pricey and not very good - I had shrimp tacos that were made with 3rd grade lunchable style tortillas. No good. Came here with friends on a Saturday night for drinks and lite fare. It was after happy hour close to 9pm. Waitress was pleasant. We ordered some things to share. We were given take out container lids for plates. We joked about it then another server came over and we asked her if these were actual plates. She replied no, they were take out container lids and that they had plenty of plates she'd bring them over. She never came back. Then we asked our server if these were plates and she laughed and said "no, long day, sorry, I'll bring you plates." She then brought us the BOTTOM part of take out containers as "plates". Then our two salads, in take-out containers, arrived, along with our pizza in a take out box. Our overall sense was that they really didn't care, all they wanted to do was close out and go home. If it weren't for being on the beach I wouldn't return. read more
