This was an interesting spot in Stone Harbor. We had a nice lunch here and got to try a few interesting items. We definitely enjoyed everything we ate for the most part. I think my favorite dishes were the fried goat cheese and the virgin mojito. The fried goat cheese had a nice honey drizzle that complemented the cheese well. As for the tuna rice, I think we would've preferred a softer rice but we loved the tuna and its seasonings. Our server Kaitlyn was wonderful and explained all of the dishes to us pretty well. It does look like a nice place to get a drink. We did love what we ate. However, I can't really recommend this place unless money is no object to you. We got one mocktail, a diet soda, and essentially 3 appetizers which totaled about $80. On top of that, the portion sizes were pretty small to the point that there is a good chance you will leave hungry. Nice flavors, good people. But the price either needs to come down or the portion sizes need to be increased. read more

Atmosphere and service was good but the tacos were not. The steak on the tacos were small round pieces and dry. The shrimp was limited on the surf and turf tacos. The tortillas were much too small for the food on them. Overall the tacos were not flavorful at all. The trio app was decent. The salsa and queso were good. The guac had too much lime. The chicken bowl and chicken tacos were good. We won't be making this a repeat dinner spot when we return each year which is a shame because the atmosphere was great. read more

Have gone for a few consecutive years as our "last night on vacation dinner." Unfortunately after our latest experience we will likely look elsewhere. The food was rather average, with the chips, salsa, guacamole, and queso clearly being grocery store fare. The beef and mahi tacos were okay, the highlight of the meal were the Brussels sprouts. Literally the worst restaurant I've ever been to - sorry! The chicken rice bowl was inedible. The rice was all clumpy and cold on the bottom and they gave a tablespoon of chicken on the top it was so bad and tasteless. Guacamole was terrible. I went for the 1 st time August 2024 & I don't know why these reviews are so lame. Perhaps I came on an exceptional night, but I had fantastic food & service, can't wait to return. We sat outside on the balcony, lovely ambiance, but it got chilly & cooled the food down too quickly & we couldn't finish it. For example, the trio of queso/pico/guac. The queso was PHENOM, & I am mad I started eating other things because when I came back to it, it was cold & coagulated & Ughh. The guac was fresh. The pico was absolutely bland, but I would throw it on other dishes for a fresh bite. street corn dip- eh. Wasn't overly flavorful & started cooling & breaking down so fast, it wasn't appealing to keep eating. The avocado crab stack- ate every morsel, delicious- a must have. Coconut margarita- a drink special- Also outstanding. The only absolute miss-The tilapia tacos. 2 too thick corn tortillas, not grilled or warmed up, tiny strip of fish, a pile of toppings. $32- what!? It was so out of place from the other dishes in that it was a disaster. If I wasn't there as someone's guest, I would have sent it back. Really liked the atmosphere and the ambience of the restaurant. The night we were there they had live music, which was great but a little louder than we would've liked since it was hard, even in the dining room, to carry on a dinner conversation. I can't imagine how you could've had a conversation in the bar area where the music was playing. Unique and interesting cocktail menu. I recommend the jalapeño and cucumber Margarita; tart with a kick. Frozen drinks were enjoyed. Service was very good. Hostess was welcoming and friendly. Table service was friendly and attentive. Five of us were able to walk-in on a Saturday night and get a table when everything else had long waits. That should have been a clue. Views of the food from our group were mixed. The tuna tostadas were ok but at $22 for 3 very small tostadas we'd pass next time. The short rib tacos were ok but wouldn't recommend. Two recommendations for the coconut shrimp tacos; although the shrimp are so big and the tortillas so small, it was very hard to pickup and eat like a taco. The fish tacos were not enjoyed. Agave really needs to step up their food quality and flavor for the prices charged. read more

Potential | Tequila | New Potential - the space is pretty incredible. Well decorated, cool, sophisticated beach vibe, which is new to the stone harbor area. They are in the 96th street mall area, but they have a ton of space and two levels with a first-level outdoor bar area. The second level is primed for an outdoor patio that will make this spot a great place for a cocktail during the day or at night. Additionally, it could become a lounge nightlife spot as well. I'm interested to see what the two levels become over the next year. Tequila - They are a tequila bar with a good amount of options in terms of drinks. They have patron and casamigos products. Not sure if they have higher-end brands, but they have a penchant for mezcal and tequila drinks. It's a new specialty for the area because there is only one other place in town that leans towards this genre of spirits. New - this place is BRAND NEW. They opened one week ago. So they are still trying to figure things out. Nothing egregious, just items that any new restaurant would be trying to work through. That's why I will update this review at the end of summer when they have their rhythm. Why not 5 stars - the place has growing pains because they have only been open 1 week. For example, we showed up at 10 am and ordered coffee, but they didn't have coffee beans for their coffee maker. Another example is they were cycling one ketchup bottle amongst 3-4 tables in our section because they didn't have enough ketchup bottles. Why not 4 stars - the music volume really kills the vibe. They have a great music selection that meshes their Montauk ecstatic and vibe. But it's 20-30% too loud. Monica and I had difficulty talking with each other inside, and we were not that close to any speaker. Also, their high-top tables have chairs that are 3-6 inches too short for average height people. Lastly, their streaming service played commercials after every 3rd or 4th song which, given the volume, detracted from the vibe as well. Positives - food was good. We went for brunch and shared the loaded French toast and potatoes. Both were well madeAnd we highly recommend. - their staff was extremely courteous and attentive. - their decorations are very pleasing to the eye, and their tables/seats are well spaced. I went to Agave earlier today and my experience was amazing! The cocktails selection is great. I ordered strawberry field. It's sooooo delicious!! And bacon avocado eggrolls are must try. Stumbled upon this place while walking through the harbor square. Amazing cocktails with fresh curated ingredients and great and accommodating service. We ordered the strawberry fields, Patron and pineapple, & Jalapeño and cucumber. All were very good. I especially like the jalapeño and cucumber. Stopped by on the opening weekend to check it out and really impressed with what they've done with the place! Totally renovated on the inside the spot is now bright and full of casual beach vibes. Excellent cocktail menu with something for everyone and the food was great. Our server Julie was top notch and really made us feel welcome in this new Stone Harbor bar. I know it was just opened, but they have a long way to go. The good: drinks were strong and servers were very nice and working hard. The bad: took 25-30 min for our first drink. The chips were beyond stale and the guac was most certainly pre-packaged from Acme. The nachos were comprised of the same stale chips and beyond soggy from the cheese and pico. Finally, we had multiple order of tacos that each fell apart when we picked them up (melted through the tortilla). Have to wonder how long they sat waiting to be taken to our table. I'd go back only for the ambiance or drinks only. They put a lot of effort into their space/brand/"image" but unfortunately it seems that effort was at cost of the menu. Even the basics on the menu are mediocre (I.e.salsa was pico and not even made with fresh tomatoes, very dry & even queso was bland - basically just a cheese sauce with some spice). Staff was nice but a little inattentive overall, but they did help once given we had a food allergy (gluten) which we were appreciative of. Shocking that no gluten free items were marked on the menu and no allergy menu was available.. More of a spot for high schoolers honestly. Don't think they'll last another season. read more

Not a fan. Maybe we ordered the worse things on the menu but the majority of our dinners was rice with some kind of cheesy gooey liquid poured throughout it. Everything was swimming in salt. And I felt no liquor whatsoever in my $17 Margarita - yes $17. Don't think we will be back. They figured out how to serve the least cost dinner at the highest price. Feel very ripped off. read more
