In response to Mr. Sharp, Hackettstown Dear Mr. Sharp W. I am so sorry to hear about your unfortunate "turnover" experience, and I must say at the same time impressed with your culinary taste buds to know there was a change in our recipe. Apparently, you have consumed more than one Apple Turnover through the years and we thank you for your past patronage. While you are "somewhat" accurate that the recipe was altered, it certainly was not our intent to change our turnovers. In all restaurants, as I am sure you are aware, chefs are dependent upon food suppliers. When our suppliers change food items we use, they often will substitute without prior knowledge. We try the replacement ingredient and of course as you experienced, it failed. It certainly was not our intent to insult your intelligence, as you felt we did. Certain ingredients will hold up better with bakery temperatures, obviously, this one did not - hence the mushy apples or applesauce consistency. I assure you we do not use applesauce in our turnovers, and until we can rectify the ingredient, the Apple Turnover will remain off the menu. If they do not meet your standards, they certainly do not meet ours. Your next point of view has been addressed with ALL our staff, we were sorry to hear of the waitress's demeanor. We apologize for the inconsistent service and hope you can understand there is always a reason - however inexcusable. Our staff, by the way, has not changed with the new owners. Matt has been promoted to Manager, he has many years' experience with the previous owners in all capacities. Our Chefs are the same as are our Wait Staff (with the addition of some new waitresses/hostesses many come and go with college or school). I personally have been with Stella G's for 11 years. If you are looking for the best breakfast in the Hackettstown area, Stella G's is it. The omelets are just wonderful. My favorite is the goat cheese omelet. They are served with their famous swiss home fries and I always get the whole grain toast. When they have the corned beef hash on the menu, that is what my son always orders, if not, then the breakfast burrito. We have often gone for lunch and had the same experience with the wonderful selection of seasonal menu items. We love the Octoberfest and Game menus in the fall. One thing we do miss is dinner. They no longer do dinner. We loved meeting friends there with a nice bottle of wine and enjoying their scrumptious meals. Never came home hungry or unsatisfied. We have also been to catered affairs at Stella's and what can I say, an experience beyond belief. You can't go wrong with the desserts either, whether it's the breakfast scones or muffins or freshly baked cupcakes, you will always leave talking about how wonderful everything was. Went to visit Stella G's for breakfast yesterday (7-17-10).The food and service was very good. That was our first time there. So we decided to visit it for dinner. The food was also good. The service on the other hand was not. After we had finished our meal and our plates were taken away, our waitress had walk by our table at least 5 times. not once asking if we wanted dessert. Now i could understand if the place was full, but only half the tables had people. finally we asked another waitress for the check. She had went to our waitress and told her we had been waiting. our waitress came over with no apology, and handed us the check. We usually leave at least a 20 percent tip. Our bill was just over 40.00 so i would have left a 10.00 tip. I left a dollar. Hope she got the hint. And next time she pays a little more attention to her tables. read more

He thought it could use some type of cheese or something to give it more umph. On a side note, they need to update their bathrooms. The toilet was cracked and leaked when you flushed. There were no towels and the hand drier didn't work. All in all, it wasn't the best visit we've had but our server was nice and I would like to come back again and try their coffees.

Versac is a fairly small space with several tables. It has a nice vibe and (not to my taste) rather loud music. I ordered an arepa with white cheese and scrambled eggs, and coffee (served in a paper cup with milk foam). The coffee was excellent, the food very good. Service was a little spotty, but acceptable (not a deal breaker). If I find myself in the area again I would certainly go back for a meal: the menu is extensive and I would love to try several other dishes. Quite an enjoyable meal, and a good value. Recommended.

But the worst sandwich I have ever eaten. THE CHICKEN WAS NOT GRILLED BUT WARMED UP FROZEN FRIED CHICKEN FINGERS ON A BUN. Never again.
