Food was ok. It was very greasy. It's like they've done some things to their food and not in a good way. I used to eat at Steak 'n Shake a lot, and ever since they reopened after the pandemic, it's been not good. This location was so dirty, we took a look around and finally, after 3 tables, found a clean one. The glass inserts above some of the booths, were also filthy. Came here on a whim. It was near a walking trail we went to so I decided to stop by for food afterwards. Customer service standard for a fast food restaurant. Prices reasonable. I got a combo meal and subbed the drink for a milkshake. The milkshake was the only decent part of the meal. Fries were overly salted and soggy. Burger was standard, nothing standout. I usually come late and loveee late night crew and what they do...but i came earlier than normal, I only ever get a milkshake with some things added... whoever was on shift on 1/21/26 around 7:30pm, you a lame fr- you dead wrong putting toppings only on bottom of cup and top only, and all within was plain vanilla icecream. I grew up on steak 'n Shake eating the double cheeseburger with fries and a drink since the 60s. Dined there on a regular basis up until I was in my 30s then I decided to get healthy. I loved it. I quit going on a regular basis only because I wanted to change the way I ate. Prior to today it's probably been years since I've had a steak 'n Shake burger. They've been through ownership changes and they certainly changed their way of doing business, but I thought I'd try them again today. just on a whim. You have to order from a kiosk, which was OK once I learned how to use it. The restaurant was not busy. I ordered the same double cheeseburger extra onions, extra pickles. They no longer carry thousand island dressing but they have something that's just like it called Frisco sauce. I watched the young man cooking there seemed to be pretty adept so he's been there a while. When I got my order, I was pleasantly surprised it was larger than the last time. I ate one and it was constructed pretty much how I envisioned. I had plenty of pickles and onions, but it also had ketchup. I must've missed that when I ordered as being something that the burger came with no problem. Everything was hot. I took the order home and put it in my air fryer for a couple minutes just to warm it up. I scrapped off the ketchup and use the Frisco sauce. Corporate really needs to fund this location better, bc it was obvious there wasn't enough staff to operate the day after Thanksgiving. The manager did half the order which was done correctly, but then a cook came in at 11 am, and really did a lousy job. A butter burger means a bun grilled with butter, not glops of butter stuck on one side of the bun. Its not like we haven't ordered this at other locations. But the so called "chef" said that's what it was supposed to be! We aren't stupid! And then when I asked for a diet coke, they said they were out of that and sprite for TWO days! Lastly, I had to go after my sauce add-on, bc it wasn't in my tray. Another example of not having enough staff to pay attention to order details. Come on! Get your act together. If you're charging what other changes are AND expect us to use self order kiosks, at least you can give is what we paid for. read more

First off it was extremely dead which I would normally think awesome it means we have the whole place to ourselves. No, I learned quickly it's because of how bad it is. It smells like dirty rag water. There's trash lying around even though there's no customers in sight. The napkin dispensers are completely empty. Some of the tables and booths are dirty as well. Was not greeted at all, the only thing that was said was when our name was called (even though again we were the only people here). The food was disgusting, I had to force most of it down. It was certainly not worth the price, but more so I'd rather get dinner from a grocery store deli or gas station then to eat here again. The seasoning packets are gross because since it's paper that hold the contents the seasonings clump together. My bun to the burger was cold, the taste was horrific. I'd give a zero star if possible. Service terrible, place looked and smelled bad, and food was despicable. This is probably the worst review I've ever left because this place doesn't even deserve to still be standing. I used to love Steak 'N Shake so I thought it'd be awesome to give them a shot again. Bad idea. There was more trash around but since the facility was empty I didn't want to draw attention to myself. The food tasted fine, but they definitely lost a customer today. I went through the drive through ordered chicken finger dinner with diet cherry coke and a small strawberry shake. The board said the dinner was 5.29 and the lady even repeated my order. When I paid she said 9.61. Not a big deal cause I got a shake too. She handed me the shake and had me pull forward. The shake was super tiny but I said small so that's on me, but then I realized I did not get my drink so when the kid brought my food out I told him I did not get my diet cherry coke so he said ok and went in. Then the manager come out and said I did not order one or pay for it. Ok gave him 5 dollars to go get one and he brought it out. The problem I have is what did I pay for the first time if my meal was 5.29 and ur really going to argue over a soda? But I don't argue over food cause I don't trust people in the food industry my way of getting back is to not buy from them again. They already went out of business once and now they will let a drink run them out again. Better start focusing on customer service. read more
