Love Steak 'n Shake. First time back. Awful food, awful service and everything was dirty. Bathrooms, tables not cleaned. Coke formula was off and food tasted salty and not fresh. We're done. Thanks. read more

Went in at 7:40 this evening with a party of eight. It didn't look too busy at the time, although over the next half hour more parties came in. The waitress came up to us and informed us that there were only two tickets that needed to be put in before ours. We couldn't believe how long it had taken without even having our order started, but we were hoping it wouldn't take much longer. After another 15 minutes without seeing our waitress come by, we decided to leave as it was getting late and we had hungry children in our party. Overall, a wasted 45 minutes for nothing. read more

This place has really gone downhill! The last 3 times my family and I have been we've walked out! After sitting there forever with no one even taking our order for the third time, we are done! Can't comment on the food, we never made it that far! read more

Very busy location right off of i75 in Ocala great food, love the burgers. Staff sat us very quickly and servers were very attentive. My water was never empty. I will keep coming back! read more

Steak ’n Shake - Fast Food Near Me - Ocala, Florida

This is one of the better steak n shakes on i75. The waitress michele was great and very sweet!

Terrible service !! I ordered two of the same exact meals and got to the window offering to pay for BBQ sauce they forced be to drive around & sit and wait in the entire line just for sauce. Makes sense why my food was COLD when I got it because they do things like this. CHICK FIL A WOULD NEVER . read more

Omg, I don't normally expect the greatest service from places like this, but this "dining" experience just pissed me off. We waited at least 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. Then we ordered right away, a frisco melt and a Cajun burger, a chocolate and strawberry shake, simple right? Not here, it took over an hour to get our food and our shakes still weren't there. I told the manager and all he said was "oh". My frisco melt was on buttered bread barely even crispy. I will not go here again. read more

Came in there tonight and Matt was the best , go in there and let him take care of you ! The owner should give him a percentage of that location because he was honestly gave a shit .. thanks Matt !! read more

We stopped for lunch. No relish for my hotdog. We ordered a shake as a treat it was okay. We liked the little match stick fries. My husband had the 4 for $4 special and I had the 2 for $3. So it was a good value. Should have skipped the shake. read more

Wait staff was very disorganized, disconcerened. We asked for a burger to go for a sick friend as we were in a hurry to get food to her. I went to the counter ordered, helped an elderly couple into the building. Looked at the cashier that took my order less the 2 minutes ago. She held a drink up and said your order is ready. I told her I had a burger. She then asked for a reciept, I told her she didn't give me one. She fumbled for another 10 minutes. Then I told her it didn't take us this long to order, eat and pay my bill. After a total of just under 20 yes 20 minutes, we got our burger. Terrible sevice, it needs to be reviewed by corperate. read more

Stopped here shortly ago. The drive thru. He asked what can we make fresh for you today? Well for one they got the order wrong, 2 the hamburgers were cold and the buns were stale. Will never eat there again! Worst food at a stake n shake ever! Would not recommend stopping here! read more

If I could give them lower than 1 star I would, because that's what they deserve. Waited for 20 minutes in the drive-thru. Food wasnot even hot, awful customer service, and didn't even apologize for how awful they were. read more

Possibly THEE most disgustingly filthy restaurant in the state!!!! Why the health department doesn't shut them down I have no idea except maybe Ocala doesn't have a normal view of clean!! The food is soooo bad!!!! Had to go to the bathroom and found it to be sooooo absolutely NASTY and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months!!!!!! Never ever eat here!!! read more

Waited in line 30 minutes for completely cold, stale food. Don't waste your time and money!

WOW has this place gone downhill! The food has gotten to the point where it is inedible. Its always been a bit greasy, but it is out of control at this point. The produce they use is horrible if its not rotten. The service with a couple of exceptions is horrendous, and that goes all the way up through the management (Tip: go to an In N Out Burger and learn how you are supposed to treat your customers). I've gone several times in the past year and had the same disappointment each and every time. With it being one of the only "quick" (LOL) restaurants open late on this side of town I've gone to bed hungry, rather than deal with the whole Steak N Shake experience. You may ask "WhyTwo Stars then"? - It's only because I want to believe in my head that it used to not always be this way. Another quick note They use Roger Ebbert as their "celebrity spokesperson", I have absolutly nothing against the man and am very happy that he was able to make a full recovery, but the man has no jaw and can no longer eat solid food, so maybe that should tell you something. read more

We live in Ocala and decided to try this a few months ago for breakfast. I was impressed with how clean the eating area was considering they are open 24/7. Breakfast was great. We've since gone back for that. We tried lunch this week and the new steakburger. It was perfectly cooked, the service was great, but the downfall is the restrooms. They desperately need updating and cleaner. Makes me think twice about what I am eating when I see what the bathrooms look like. I have loved the waitresses we've had and they work so hard. That place is busy during the day and they do not stop. Just wish someone would stay on top of the bathrooms read more

I miss the Steak-N-Shakes that we used to go to in Missouri so i decided to walk over to this one next to the Fairfield Inn where I was staying. I asked to be seated at the Bar as I was by myself.. and Sarah immediately took my order. As I was waiting for my food i decided to check Yelp to see how they rated this place... and notice that it wasnt rated very good...after reading a couple 1 and 2 star comments about dirty floors and bathrooms, i started to look around the place and noticed that they definitely needed to pay more attention to cleanliness, especially at the waiters counter / bus station. I did not venture into the bathroom but I am sure this was not any better. As for the food... well the burgers still task good and the shakes are outstanding... I love the Sea Salt and Vinegar fries... Long story short... stick with the drive through if you can... and to the General Manager... pay closer attention to cleanliness especially where your customers can see. read more

Just your normal Stake N Shake but the service from Kate made the trip through Ocala a better one. Thanks Kate

The food is good, but they make it how they want to, not how you ask for it. The shakes are always a problem though, it happened three times now; the chocolate shakes taste like fruits. It's like they don't rinse the blender or something, and they try to blame it on the cherry, but the cherry is on top of the whip cream so that makes no sense. read more

I have visited this location many times, most recently yesterday. I gave it 2 stars because the burger was good and that was the only reason. We were seated promptly as there were many vacant tables and we were served our drinks quickly and our order was taken. It went downhill from there. We both ordered the "4 for 4" special. Note that the table next to us had a stack of dirty dishes on the table. In what seemed like a very long time, some of the food we ordered was delivered. Our dinner was suppose to include coleslaw, which we had to ask for as well as a milkshake. The coleslaw was delivered without the milkshake which I had to ask for again. We also had no utensils to eat our lunch with and had to ask for those too. The person who ordered the milkshake was unable to finish it and asked for a takeout cup. I went to the restroom and upon my return I had to ask for the cup again while the waitress who served us was socializing with coworkers. The bathroom was in desperate need of attention and the floor in front of the serving window was littered with food and misc trash. And you know that table which I mentioned was covered with dirty dishes next to us? Those dishes were still sitting there as we left our table to leave. read more

Always come to this Steak and Shake when going through Ocala. Never have had a bad meal, service is always friendly and food is always very good. I will continue to come to this Steak and Shake when we go through. Burgers are always top notch and the milkshakes are amazing. read more

Sloooow service. It's been18 minutes since we placed our order. Still no food. Finally arrived after 20 minutes. Second time we've been here both times disappointing. Bad service and so-so food. Not going back. read more

Overall I enjoyed my experience at Steak n' Shake, however there were some key points that were quite unenjoyable. To start off I walked in, sat down, and was greeted with a hair on the tip of my ketchup bottle. From here I noticed a quite unpleasant smell in the bathroom as well as an overflowing trashcan. While the service was fast, there were quite a few mistakes made. Beginning with the (dee)lusional waitress who gave wrong table numbers and an extra pepsi that we did not order. She even forgot my parmesan and herb french fry seasoning. All the while the other waitress was talking crap and even complaining about working too many hours. Finally in an effort to avoid getting more tables the check was hidden under napkins leaving us in curiosity. This only adds on to my list of unpleasant experiences at Steak n' Shakes around Florida. read more

I did an order on drive through and food was cold. How ever, the shakes were good and there was good customer service.

Was my first visit to this food chain, the wait staff was very nice. This location was busy and packed. They took a while to take our orders but was disorganized. The order took between 45 min to an hour to deliver our order. I did call and complain to management. They did call and ask what happened and apologize for the poor service. I will give the chain another chance to see if it was the location or the chain. The burgers were small and extremely thin, so a triple would be the equivalent to another chains regular burger. read more

Got a small s'mores shake. It was happy hour so it was really cheap.

Take out service is terrible. I ordered some food to go, and stood beside to wait. When my food was ready, somebody said "carry out". But no one give food to me. Then I heard at least 10 times "carry out". 20 mins after my food was ready, I got my cold(hot) dog. Terrible! read more

Service took forever, restaurant was not very clean, and overall environment was not very palatable. The food seemed was served lukewarm and was not very appetizing. I would not eat here again. read more

Meh the drive through is slow and attempting to eat off the $5 menu will leave you hungry and thirsty as those deals have no drinks.

They don't have one of these out in Cali. I wish they did! I love their shakes and burgers. They need to come to the west coast.... anytime i'm on the east coast, I hit up the local Steak N Shake. read more

This "dive" gets one star because I can't leave zero!! First off, my in-laws order their #1 shakes in country. No cherries, so my in-laws inquire about it and waitress responded "we don't use cherries anymore". Our meals took 30 minutes to arrive. No silverware or napkins. When we asked the waitress told us she could give us two sets but they ran out of knives and forks!!! Finally I ordered two shakes to go for my wife and I. After 20 minutes of waiting I went to register and cancelled. Waitress claimed they were working on them When they took off the bill, it was higher than when I ordered the shakes This place is a disaster and you couldn't pay me to eat at this "dump" ever again. read more

I don't understand the negative comments. This place was busy, however employees did their best to serve us. Yes we waited for our food, but when you cook food to order and make shakes with fresh ice cream, yes it's going to take a while! The employees cleaned the table and floor as soon as they were able. Understand if you want fresh, it's going to take an extra minute; you want fast, then choose the other restaurants who precook their food and the shakes come from from a machine. read more

To be fair and honest this little steak and shake is the best and all I'm going to say right now is the servers go above and beyond the call of duty to the point where they did everything right everything was nice and hot and fresh and I enjoyed myself to the point where I will be coming back here with my friends in the near distant future read more

This place was unbelievably slow on a Saturday night. Every table full with several waiting on food. It took 50 minutes to get three hamburgers to our table and five hamburgers to two other tables. Another table with 4 adults and 3 kids waited at least 40 minutes. Another table of 9 left after about 20 minutes with only shakes. Our waitress was very apologetic but the manager was not sending anything from the grill to the seated customers. In 50 minutes I saw maybe 25 meals come out to the floor including our meals. The rest was going to the drive through. There was one car in the drive through when we arrived so it wasn't like cars were piling up. Unbelievable. Left a big tip for our long suffering waitress but won't be back. read more

I'm usually not critical of the customer service my family and i recieve when we go out. However, the service that we got was absolutely horrible at this location. Food was good, but service was bad enough for me to say im not goin back. read more

Right off the highway, Steak n Shake is a popular choice for fast food. Unfortunately this restaurant is anything but fast. You really can't even call it slow. It's SSSLLLOOOWWWW. We literally sat in the drivethru with 6 cars in front us, and it took 45 minutes to get through! I get the whole "milkshakes made to order" thing, but any other Steak n Shake I've been to averages 3 minute a vehicle or less. Once in the line I couldn't even escape to go somewhere else, so each car I felt "maybe this'll speed up". Nope, never happened. Sadly I love Steak 'n Shake when I'm on the road back and forth to Georgia and Florida, but won't visit this location again. read more

This Steak N Shake is really well organized and has great service. We got our food very fast and really enjoyed our lunch.
